I like what I'm seeing from Gatecrash in regards to supporting what has consistently been my favorite deck over the years, mono green. Admittedly "splashing colors" is a great idea, but I want to see the meta settle before doing anything drastic. It's set up to support a shift to a more midrange/ramp Gruul Strategy after a few weeks of testing. This deck is constructed to be resiliant, rangey, and have suitable answers to common threats.

I did a phantom sealed event tonight for practice. I don't think I'm ready for daily sealed events yet.

I end up with a cruddy pool. Battle of Wits and Door to Nothingness. Gross.

My only bombs are Sphinx of Uthuun and Akroma's Memorial. My blue has Sleep two Archaeomancer an Essence Scatter and a Switcheroo but not much of a creature base. So I end up playing white/green with a splash of black for Mark of the Vampire and Public Execution.

Let's cut to the chase. Today, the DCI banned Seething Song. Does this cripple ritual gifts? yeah, probably. Can it exist without Seething Song? Yes, but it's complicated. Let's dive right in.

First off, here are my thoughts on the decision to ban Seething Song in the first place. Like most of you, I'm sure, I was blindsided by this decision, and strongly disagree with their reasoning. At first, I thought it was just because, well, it cripples a deck I play, but that isn't consistent...

Whew, a hit to Jund is relieving but not so sure on the Storm ban but hey, it free's up the Thalia slots in my Boros list.

Boros will be losing the 3 Thalia's and picking up another Elspeth and a pair of Thundermaws

RUG Loam will probably drop the BBE's for Countryside Crushers Maybe only two though, and add another Izzet Charm or something like that my first priority is still to pick up 3 more Loams and all of my Seismic Assaults..
