The idea of the deck is to get Ravenous Demon out. Sacrifice a human. Attack with Archdemon of Greed then cast Switcheroo and give it to the opponent.
Lol~
Come October we all know we lose Scars block for the Ravnica set, but what happens in January when the second Ravnica set comes out. What do we lose then?
Yeah I have but the thing is the second Hellkite or Inferno hits the field one of two things happens (without Nightshade Peddler) I'm either going to win in the next couple turns or they have a kill card/counterspell ready for the creature. Having Nightshade wont really change much.
Ohh i C, my apologies. I went into long-term stupid mode in my brain there just there.
I see you wasted a lot of time with a clearly well thought out post that has absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote. Please re-read what I said then take your palm and slam your face into it.
How exactly did you get 112 mana in one turn? When you cast a spell from the graveyard, even with Past in Flames it gets exiled only allowing you to cast a MAXIMUM of 4 Infernal Plunge.
Then just read the last few pages.
It's not hard to do.
Blame it on me, I'm the one that is constantly reporting new threads in SDC when an official thread exists.
Then you sir, are retarded. It's not like threads are flying off of page 1 at a unreadable rate. In fact I don't think I've ever even had to look at page 2. Ever.
Mutilate will wipe the board, but lashwrithe outweighs the -1/-1 from mutilate. This means;
Scenario;
Obliterator w lashwrithe equipped -> play mutilate, Obliterator alone on the field, opponent sacrifices all lands. (kinda)
... Seems better. But dunno. (i only took 7 min. brewing this. )
What you just said makes no sense. First off playing mutilate doesn't make your opponent sacrifice permanents. -1/-1 is not damage. Second, you are the one putting the -1/-1 on everything so even if it was damage it would be you sacrificing permanents. Third, you are better off equipping Lashwrithe to him assuming he isn't already dead from a kill spell and swinging with him. If the opponent blocks then they have to sacrifice permanents which will most likely be all their remaining creatures on the board and mutilate will most likely never be used.
Its a good idea but its too vulnerable to way too many cards.
A single Oblivion ring/distress/mutilate/geth's verdict/whipflare ect. ect. Will stop the entire deck. A turn 2 Stony silence will also stop the deck.
Black white zombie with Blood artist, vampire nighthawk, blade splicer, resto angel, phyrexian metamorph, lingering souls, sorin and elspeth?
You have 8 zombies you have 23 non-zombies. How do you figure this is black white zombies?
Also with 3 swamp req of Geralf's getting him out will be a pain, considering you have more mixed types than one type I don't see have cavern of souls will help either.
It's been discussed ad nauseam, but a turn 3 nighthawk is as good of a play as any other card in standard against the majority of aggro decks in this meta- zombies/rg aggro/delver.
Thinking that you have to pick one or the other- mutilate or nighthawk- is just not the right way to assess things. Vengeance decks are getting creamed by zombies/delver/rg aggro/etc. We can theory craft all day about how things should work - but the simple fact is that you can't sit around and rely on drawing a board wipe every game when so many decks can kill you before you even get a chance to drop a 6 or 7 mana spell. Pristine talisman? LOL. Best case scenario you get like 3-4 life out of it before an aggro deck with a decent hand has killed you if you don't draw your board wipe.
Nighthawk is incredibly versatile. He's a deterrent when you don't have your board wipe, and he's a big threat with lashwrithe or lil of dark realms that can create big life deficits in a turns. He can kill a fatty. He can steadily increase your life and out-race a blade splicer due to lifelink. He is way too good against too many decks to not be playing 4x in a mono black deck that isn't trading post. Don't put all your eggs in one basket with board wipes.
Best case scenario you get 3-4 life? Have you ever even played it?
Here's how my games usually go and yes I usually win against zombies.
Turn 1 Me: Swamp, pass
Turn 1 him: Swamp, Gravecrawler
Turn 2 Me: Swamp, Pass
Turn 2 him: Swamp, Diregraf swing for 20
Turn 3 me 18: Swamp Talisman, 19.
Turn 3 him: Swamp, Geralfs swing for 4, 15
Turn 4 me: Swamp, 16, Mutilate, 14.
Turn 4 him: Swamp recast gravecrawler swing 4, 10
Turn 5 me: Swamp, Solemn. 11 (Pristine)
Turn 5 him: Probably out of lands to place down, blood artist/zombie swing 6. I block geralfs putting me at 9.
Turn 6 me: I have 8 mana on the field. Pristine to 12. Play Sorin's Vengeance, Sorin Markov setting his life to 10, Griselbrand, Mimic Vat to keep undying from working, Staff of nin picking off gravecrawler, another field wipe.
On turn 6 Pristine has given me 3 health. If you are playing control well the games usually not over within the first 8-10 rounds so 1 pristine should give you 5 health. If you have 2 out thats 9-10 health. What they are there for is wiping the field and punishing the enemy for going a round without attacking. If I drop mimic vat in its place I prevent Geralf's undying from working. If I drop Liliana of the Veil in its place I kill a creature and I buy a turn.
Black control has so many answers to zombies its ridiculous and 9/10 times I have that answer in my hand because with 7 field wipes in my deck I have a great chance of always having one and after playing one my opponent has a extreme card disadvantage. The only game I've ever lost to zombies was against someone who had 3 gravecrawlers 3 diregraf ghouls and 1 swamp in his hand and drew 2 consecutive swamps. I've also played zombie-pod where they do immense damage by using mortar pod and blood artist to continuously sac Gravecrawler with birthing pod. I chose to sideboard a Witchbane orb but by the time Mimic Vat hit the field all his undying effects and resummon effects no longer worked. Playing blood artist on turn 2 bought me an additional turn and late game I'm just more powerful.
I fall behind in the beginning but with Consume Spirit, Constant ticking Pristine Talisman, Sorin's Vengeance my health always goes back up after turn 4.
Um no. Its an additional creature every turn. You equipped it to her the same turn you play her and next turn you get a free creature on the field which could be Avacyn. Then you have all your mana untapped to play a creature if you have any in your hand. Every turn shes on the field you have a chance of getting a free angel on the field which could also be Gisela.
3 Deranged Assistant
3 Onyx Mage
3 Skirsdag High Priest
4 Solemn Simulacrum
2 Gilded Lotus
4 Switcheroo
4 Ponder
4 Think Twice
4 Darkslick Shores
9 Swamp
8 Island
