My experience so far has been a sad one. I've already played three flights and I have lost in all of them. I usually do very good but I had the worst luck opening and my pools had been the worst. I've noticed that creatures are lacking in power and that are very unreliable by themselves unless you have something to pump them via equipment, enchantment, instants, etc. I've noted that allies and vampires are being overly played and I see black in almost every table. What is really depressing is knowing that I'm taking time and money for entertain that I could well invest for family and studies. I know and people know that I play really good but sealed deck just seems too based on luck this time other times skill might have save you...not this time. Is annoying to see stupid people win and then they think they are so glorious. ARG!

[now with less rant and more on topic]

Yes, it feels underdeveloped and yes I like the ideas and the design of some but the fact that they are pushing allies and vampires so much makes the rest very narrow. There hasn't been a round in all three flight I've played in which there wasn't somebody playing some allies or vampires.

Multikicker for the long game has been awesome.

Ok, so please, anyone, tell me, whats the functional difference between these three cards:

    Comet Storm: XRR
    Instant
    Multikicker: 1
Choose target creature or player, then choose another creature or player for each time Comet Storm was kicked. Comet Storm deals X damage to each of them

    Comet Storm: XRR
    Instant
Comet Storm deals X damage to any number of target creatures and/or players.
Comet Storm costs 1 more to cast for each target beyond the first.

    Comet Storm: XYRR
    Instant
Comet Storm deals X damage to Y + 1 target creatures and/or players.

The last one saves ink when mass-producing the card?

I'm not excited yet for this set but I still have hope (still too early to pass judgement).

Conspiracy theories. Our PTO is a WOW addict, communication between Wizards/Hasbro and Puerto Rico hasn't been good lately. I was funding a project to make a site for the event in Puerto Rico and they never answered my questions properly and I had to halt the project. They always said they needed more time or they simply ignored me and my friends.

Many are expecting anxiously this event but Hasbro is doing a pretty crappy job in the Marketing area and it the event might not be as good as I know it CAN be. This is what happen when a big company takes on the treasures of a small one... it loses it charm but is just natural cause and effect of capitalism.

I'm sure I'm happy I can still rant but times are getting difficult and soon all this would have been seen like a luxury.

This is Hasbro not Wizards anymore. Money oriented no people (or gamer) oriented. Might sound like a hater but the facts are there. Too many new cards with the same mechanics but with a new name ""just to make it more flavorful" (for their pockets).

If Baneslayer isn't reprinted it just proves my point that they are after the money. They'll just cover her slot for something else as broken as her.

Force of will was good then and still is good in older formats. Is not that awesome on type 2. It stops combo on its feet but then again who plays combo on type 2?

ya bbe is a staple in most decks that play green in red. Kazandu blademaster is a staple in any white aggro deck, does that mean it should be banned too. Day of judgement is a staple in any control deck, should it be banned? There is a difference between a staple and a card that "changes the format." It sounds redundant to say so, but control is weak right now. Discussing whether or not that is a good thing is a whole different argument. because there is no permission in decks, cards with cascade and finishers like broodmate dragon and BSA run rampant. If anything, instead of banning cards, we should be bringing more cards into standard.

Naya lightsaber isn't the only deck that can, and has, beat jund. Spread em' can do it too. There are plenty of other decks that are"jund/bbe haters" I listed naya lightsaber because it won worlds and there is footage of it beating jund. the threat of a spreading seas deck is usually enough to stop talks of building jund.

Why should we wait until more cards come to standard? Then what? Maybe some other problem shows up? I'm stuck and have to suck it up?

We are suppose to deal with the present situation not with a future one.

Wow very nice of you, the answer to a deck with BBE is to play another deck with BBE.

There's no need for banning. You are so right!

Now... what was that policy Wizards used to have when a card was used in most decks and was changing a format?

Lately I've even seen vampires splashing for BBE and blightning. How awesome is that? -_-

Well currently there are no decent answers other than straight-foward hate. So on the meanwhile the should fix cascade, restrict or ban.

I don't think any of the most mentioned cards need to be banned. BBE and Blightning are just good cause people play Jund- which is very beatable if you aim to beat it.Maelstrom Pulse? You can't ban answers, people- that's when formats get out of control (no pun intended). I think having answers and interaction is the most important part of magic. I feel if anything is ban-able it is Jar Jar Sphinx just because you can't answer it. Yea there's DoJ but there's too many good counters and too little Wraths. Having said that, I don't believe JJS is out of hand atm because control isn't fantastic. It probably will get there though. Other than that? Time Warp seems to leave the most room open for combo. Eldrazi is good but it's just because it has many good, synergistic pieces. That's my eight cents.

The problem with this logic was the same as for decks such as affinity, fairies, tooth and Nail, etc. You always make a deck aiming to win but in order to beat these decks you had to focus on that deck strategy and would leave weaknesses against the rest of the field. Then you'll find yourself losing or having a hard time against subpar decks just because you have to deal with imminent threat of X deck which will always appear. You could say that this will always happen because every strategy is suppose to beat other strategy but it doesn't make any sense when you can't make a decent strategy because there's no room for it. My current strategy is hope they have a bad hand and survive or play jund or anything with bbe and blightning. I've been seriously thinking of putting bbe and blightning into every deck I play. Maybe it will push the banning when they see everybody and their mother playing it.

    As far as competitive go...

When you can't find answers to an existing problem (the strategy or the deck) the you become part of the problem (play it) and then start justifying it because is working for you which is by itself a horrendous mistake because you are ignoring the root problem instead of doing something about it.

    lol @ counter's comment.

BBE to blightning killing a planewalker giving a 4 for 1 can't be right. At the very least BBE is a fairly cost'ed creature, in average is a 2 for 1. What is really wrecking about the synergy of the bbe right now is Blightning. If it wasn't for the discard maybe we could put up with the extra stuff brought to the table but without a hand we can't deal with anything.

So it is between BBE and Blightning.

Path to exile is well balance. In many case it bothers me that I'm giving tempo to my opponent for him to drop even a greater threat and thinning his/her deck.

Please don't compare bbe/blightning to skullclamp. Skullclamp was an intentional mistake ($$$).

You sided in 15 cards? Was the deck even playable after that? There is a such thing as sideboarding too much you know. You may side in all this tech, but in the end your deck is too weak to actually win the game.

To answer the last two posts:

Yes, I tried that and the deck was playable.

My sb consisted of 4 devout lightcaster 4 great sable stag 4 celestial purge and 3 harm's way and he still beat me. He was using black knight, Malakir bloodwitch and a lot of discard. Kekeke and he had a nice lifegain machine going on.

Packing your deck chalk full'o'bomby goodness has always smacked around dedicated discard. I wasn't just being a douche when I suggested you need to topdeck Baneslayer/Reliquary...

I know, but it just isn't reliable. There's always a slim chance of winning by topdecking but the deck has to be reliable not a deck of chance.
