I makes me SO happy that Gaymers is still alive and ***** slapping(and apparently entirely unchanged.) It makes all the BS from the early days really worth it.

OH, and something happened to me today that NEVER happens to me. Everyone who knows me knows how I'm not at all... Sexual, and not at all 'Ooh, I like that person'. I helped someone at work and my immediate thought was 'Hey, she's cute'. Sadly... She's a lesbian. It's not as if I said anything. She just idly commented she was over on this side of the river for her girlfriend. I hadn't asked! I was simply trying to find her a nearby gamestop that had a game she wanted. Le sigh.

Le Sigh indeed, the one and only thing that that can stop you on your subtle shy conquest ... gay women(or straight men Frown )

ALSO: What happened to the Magic Coffeehouse?

Yay someone remembers me! hey mikey, kraj, blue and any other "old timers".

And a great big HELLO to anyone new.

Apparently I came back at the right time. Brandon Boyd...drooooool. I feel a little guilty mind you since he has repeatedly stated that wishes people would focus on his music not his looks, however that didn't stop me from scrolling up and oogling at least 6 times while I was typing this so I can't be feeling THAT guilty.

He does make great music though.

I would like to appologize for the time you have all spent waiting on me to post.
The time commitment required by my new job is alot greater than I thought it would be. Being as you all deserve a game which move at an enjoyable pace I have asked to be replaced.

    Again I appologize

The gme is only stagnating because no one is posting (admittadly I'm one of the parties most guilty of not posting)

I do have someone who I think is a scummy party, but since I am currently public enemy number one you may veiw this as just shifting blame.

If you guys are interested in hearing what I have to say, let me know. I m also willing to post my role claim if you deem it necessary. I assure you I have nothing to hide.

Reading through these responses, I would like to highlight what my main points are. First off...

The Game Breaking argument: I consider this a moot point. There are many games that can be broken WIDE OPEN if everyone just nameclaims. If it's a themed game, and the theme is rather small, then the Mod could have easily left out any safeclaims for the mafia, making nameclaiming the most efficient way to win a game. I don't doubt that this has happened in a few games, and prolly one that EH has played in during his past. I can write off trying to break open this game as a noob idea. He saw it before, figured it was a good idea, and went for it here. Unfortunetly, it didn't really work out. So it's moot to me. It could be a crafty scum tactic, or it could be noob mistake.

The Encouraging Restraint: This is prolly the biggest argument in favor of a Scum EH IMO. Not because of the origional argument, but because of EH's response. He says he was encouraging the town to ensure longer days? That seems like a non-sequitar. I don't see how patting the town on the back does anything to lengthen the day. In fact, it seems like telling the Town good job would make the day run faster. If EH was concerned about the speed of the day, he should have spoken up and said "Whoa! A little fast there!", or expressed his concern over a possible rushed lynch.

That seems extremely scummy to me.

The Mislynch Antics: MT pretty much summed it up for me. Preemptive Mis-lynch planning is BAD. Scummy bad.

At this point, I'm gonna FoS EH, mostly because I want to see the rest of the town's reaction to this case.

If you look at the context of my encouragement it does work to elongate the day. The good work I was congratulating the town on was the careful consideration of scumminess and the fact that we were working on what appeared to be a well laid plan. I felt it unessescary to say "Whoah slow down" because at that point that is already what was being done.

Black bolded: You say again that game was broken open by compiling a role speculation list. How exactly? It seems to me if you've got all the scum roles listed right out in the open, there's no way in hell a scum is going to claim one of those names. Aside from possibly catching a scum who false-claims a name that can be counter-claimed, I see no real way to break a game with that. Furthermore, if your list is wrong and you have a town name on the scum list (or vice versa) you've just improved the scums' win chance.

Also, regarding the second line I bolded, as I pointed out before trying to clear people based solely on the flavor of their role is bad. A player should be cleared based on the merit of the case against them vs. the merit of their defense and the merit of their claim as a whole, not just because his/her role happens to be on the list (which conveniently is right there in the open to read in advance).
It was broken open by orchestrating a mass claim, I also thought it would be useful to create that list in order attempt to limit scum from claiming obscure roles, thereby making a false claim harder but since townies have obscure roles in this game, that didn't work. I didn't think it was horribly noobish of me, but apparently it was misguided.

Green bolded: Encouraging continued restraint is good. However, your post was very over the top. Also, I still note your use of the word "persecuting". That word is never, as far as I know, used in a good connotation. I can't help but suspect that this slip gives away your true thoughts on the JqlGirl wagon.
The choice of the word persecution is just my love of using larger than necessary words, also over the top (ie not subtle) was , I thought, the best way of making sure that what I said came out clear.

Blue bolded: This strikes me as scummy. Other people's posts about uncontrollable factors were simply stating that nothing the town does can eliminate the possibility of the scum hitting the cop or doc with their night kill. With yours you're admitting to trying to preemptively lessen backlash that players get over a mis-lynch. The backlash (if any) is going to weigh equally on anyone who was on the wagon unless other scummy actions indicate ulterior motives to their vote/FoS. This active preparation for mis-lynch is scummy IMO.

Not really if I was attempting to protect the town. Notice that the people who were on that bandwagon that I was trying to protect are considered townie(one of the being yourself) I was not overly prominant in the case against jql and it wasn't myself I feared for. There were many people who believe jql was the way to go(in the end it was nearly unanimous) so the percaution may have been unessescary but I figured that the potential benefits outweighed the risk(as I could see it virtually none)

I am off to re-read the thread, comments in a bit

Sorry for the delay on the return to the game. I have been finishing up school and exams and so on.

In response to that wall of text I have a few things to say.

Firstly, as I have stated before the role speculation and quote unquote checklist was a way the game was broken open in one of the first games of mafia I played. Discussion of who "bad" roles could be and what the likely "good" roles were was what ended up winning us the game. I will admit that in the game there are for more possible roles, being as the simpsons has one of the largest base of charcters to draw from, and therefore it is less effective. I set up this list essentially to go off of what I would do were I the mod. Apparently spotofprey and I dont think alike because he used alot more obscure roles than I would have, therfore rendering my list ineffective. I figured it would be worth a shot just in case it was set up in just a clear cut manner. Clearing people based solely on roles or having a check list of what the roles are is a valuable tool in this game. Compiling that list at the begining of the game may have not been the best ation on my part but in World Dom mafia(I think that was it, I could be wrong) It was the game winner and it surfaced on day 1.

The patting the town on the back and saying we are doing a good job was my way of trying to ensure that we had longer days. Prior to this point the game seemed to be proceeding faster than I would have liked. While the arguments as to why people looked scummy seemed convincing to me, more time to think and analyze is always a good thing.

The "hey its not foolproof" was essentially summing up the general pattern of people saying hey if the doc/cop dies tonight that would suck. Someone else (I forget who) also had said hey what if they(kman/jql) are town, to which the response was, yes that is a possibility. Hey it's not foolproof served 2 purposes, 1) to acknowledge what others had said, and 2) Considering the volume of new players I hoped to create a situation where we might be able to lessen a backlash against those who looked town and were in favor of the plan(Sneaky, joyo,MBP) just in case it failed. I essentially believed that JQL or Kman were scum, but just in case they weren't I didn't want people to get angry at those in favor of the plan without thinking it through first.

I hope this is sufficient reasoning for posting what I posted If you have any more questions as to why I said what I did, by all means ask them.

Some time tonight I am going to post my analysis of the goings on since night 1. Probably a bit later.

if the mad tapper says he isn't the cop i will be very mad.

    Why?
1)Because you are scum and wondering why no one is coming forward and the aprehension and anticipation is driving you crazy?

    or

    2) Because you have absolutely no comprehension of how velcro shoes work, much less what the plan currently in execution is.
