The last season being so bad seems to have completely killed this thread. The winter season seems significantly better so far, since you have a couple shows that are already outstanding(ERASED and the Rakugo show) and a few shows that have some potential to be 4 star shows(Grimgar, Dagashi kashi, Dimension W, Ajin). What is everyone else currently watching?

I just rewatched Fate:Stay/Night UBW on Netflix. Netflix finally got the second season and the English voice actors for it actually aren't half bad. Also, Ufotable released an OVA for the UBW good ending (featuring Saber surviving the war). I know of an unlisted video on youtube that has english subtitles for it, if you want.

I would like to point out that Saitama would win without blinking. The two characters powers are not even comparable as Saitama was literally written to never meet someone as our more powerful than himself

Eh, it's a bit of a Superman argument. How strong is someone who's designed to be stronger than everything else? There really isn't much of a point to debating Saitama vs anyone because it almost always devolves into arguments of "Saitama is designed to be unbeatable therefore nothing can beat him and your argument is invalid".

How about Exquisite Firecraft as a sideboard card alternative to Vexing Shusher in miracles?

Powder keg was mostly used before Ratchet Bomb as a tool against dredge and Empty the Warren versions of storm combo. I suppose the question could be better worded as "is this still considered better than ensnaring bridge?"

    Thanks!

I took a break from mtg to focus on RL for a few months, so I'm coming back to a few questions.

    1) what's replacing REB? I'm hearing that it's exquisite fire craft - but I'm still not entirely sold on the reasons.

    2) I was used to seeing powder kegs and pitching needles in the sideboard, are they both gone?

    3) what's the verdict on swift spears?

I knew I saw you on Reddit with this post (it's almost word for word) and I can't help but agree with you.

There's very little reason to actually play control when you can just run splinter twin which is control that will combo out of nowhere to win the game. It's been that way for a very long time.

    ---

    To add my own 2¢:

Until wizards produces counter magic in modern that can reliably stop t2-t3 combos from eating people alive, wizards is going to have to keep banning out whichever combo decides that it wants to be the big man on campus.

well, this is certainly escalating very quickly. I'm not certain it's the right response, but it certainly is a response.

I'm going to hold off on passing a permanent judgement, but by immediate reaction is that having all the judges "go on strike" is a bit over the top.

Shattering pulse is pretty good with Mizzix, as the cost reduction affects buyback. Once you can get 2-4 experience counters, it becomes all of the artifact removal you really need.

This with Hostility seems really amusing.

This is a nonbo. Chandra's ignition specifies that it is the creature that deals damage, not Chandra's Ignition. Hostility's prevention trigger wont happen.

Also of note, the very first reply shows how the card is almost certainly fake.

$215 for a revised lightly played volcanic island. I use it in a Ruhan superfriends deck that costs about $1400 altogether.

I can't count the amount of times that a trumpet blast has won me the game... in limited.

In edh there are better cards to run than this, but I'd make a special mention to Shu Yun, which doesn't even want this card because it costs too much.

I've rotated around my Avatar a lot. I'm sure some of the older members that I usually chat with would recognize a few of the different ones that I've used.

This one is currently Saber of Red, also known as Mordred, from the Fate series. I like it because it's upbeat and silly, while still being an awesome chibi of a character from a series that I like. My old one was Fuuka from a manga, but that one started to irritate me because I heavily disagree with the direction that that manga went.

ultimately this isn't something I've seen much of. I'd like to say that its very good for all the reasons listed above but I just haven't seen it do much before it gets blown up.

Sure, card such as spell crumple and hinder and chaos warp seem useless now but they really aren't. Flashback spells are still a thing along with card that have effects in the graveyard making spell crumple and hinder still decent.

Spell Crumple and Hinder are going to be replaced by Dissipate and Faerie Trickery or non-counter methods of dealing with spells. The first two have always been slightly worse at dealing with problematic spell, because the exile zone is the deadest you can make a card, but they've been significantly better at dealing with generals. Now there really isn't any reason to run them over the latter two unless you really like to overload on 3 cmc counterspells.

Can anyone access the site? It seems this rules change has blown up the EDH forum. Could someone summarize the change as I would like to comment but I'd like to know what has actually happened first.

When you tuck a commander (put it somewhere in the library), the recipient of the tucking action may choose to put their commander into the command zone instead of being tucked.
