Actually, you are totally right! This is Miyajima, a small island near Hiroshima.
I live in Yonago, which is four hours by train from Hiroshima. Yesterday, I did this:
-Go to Hiroshima (7:30-11:00am)
-Witness Peace Memorial Park
-Enjoy the Hanakairo (Flower Festival) going on there
- Visit the Peace Museum... Just wow. Totally sobering stuff. Incredibly moving.
- Walk a few blocks and visit Hiroshima Castle
- Take the street car for an HOUR, and then the ferry to Miyajima island
-Take that picture with the giant Tori
-Take the street car for an HOUR back
-Go home (another four hours)
-Get home after midnight
That was quite a day, let me tell you.

Dec 10, 2008Mr. Stuff posted a message on First Blog...awww how cute!Hey, welcome to the forums. And yeah, don't let "Introduce Yourself" bother ya... Just, we've had some really, really weird **** go down in the past (*cough*TNeil*cough*) that is still in our collective memories, so to speak. I haven't read that thread yet, so I can only assume. I dig the pink hair, btw. My first thought when I saw you was "Ohayocon"... no offense, but you'd fit right in at a convention.Posted in: Daidream Blog
*Mr. Stuff is a big fan of anime and speaks of it at every given opportunity. Obviously.*
Once again, welcome. -
Mar 12, 2008Mr. Stuff posted a message on To quit or not to quitI have to agree largely with Hippy here. It's college. There will be "nerds" (and please don't take offense to the term, I'm one of the biggest nerds around and proud to say it). There will be Magic. They may not be the easiest to find, or they may already have a playgroup that plays on campus, but they will be there. You may not find them at first, but keep looking. The good thing about colleges is that most of them have lots of large open areas for people to just hang about. If you can find one person and just sit and play magic (preferably a few times a week) in some noticeable area on campus, people will ask you about it. Set up a regular time and tell them to come. This is how our playgroup got started at my college. There were three of us in the beginning, and it turned into around 15.Posted in: Psi's Blog

I just hope all the cards I ordered for my Oloro get here before I leave... It shouldn't be a problem, but I ordered a Tombstone Stairwell that still hasn't arrived, and I leave next Friday (20th) so...
I'm actually wondering how I'll be able to order cards once I get there. I found out I'll be living in Kobe, so I shouldn't be too far from somewhere that sells cards. Maybe I'll be able to find somewhere that sells Japanese singles.
I wasn't sure about Hunted Phantasm at first, but in testing it has proved hilarious. I think it still needs some work, probably losing Empty the Catacombs, and maybe finding room for Dimir House Guard or Brago or some more ETB effects. It's definitely got the core of the deck together, though, and it works pretty well. I'm happy.
Pain:
Suture Priest, Blood Seeker, Poisonbelly Ogre, Massacre Wurm
Suffering:
Dovescape, Infernal Genesis, Alliance of Arms, Genesis Chamber, Plague of Vermin
It's beautiful.
I'm really struggling to put together my Oloro deck. I can't decide which direction out of several possible I want the deck to go in.
Options so far:
1. Taxing effects: Liability, Patron of the Nezumi, Poisonbelly Ogre
2. Drain effects: Scholar of Athreos, Subversion, Blind Obedience
3. Pillow fort: Propaganda, Circle of Despair, Silent Arbiter, Righteous Aura
4. ETB triggers: Auriok Champion, Living Death, Twilight's Call, Genesis Chamber
5. Finishers: Kokusho, The Evening Star, Death to the Debtless, Exsanguinate
Here's my current list.
Any ideas? It just seems split over trying to do too many things at the moment, and in testing Iv'e discovered I need to add in some board wipes pretty badly.

"Gonna step in real quick before you guys get excited. No fun guessing games or cloak-and-dagger this time around -- we're just rescheduling a bit."
You can't pay costs with negative life.
1. Blue. I love the surprise element, and I love turning my opponent's toys against them. Blue can do things no other color can do, like Bribery, Time Stop, and Reins of Power (which, incidentally, is my favorite card).
2. I am a Johnny, Combo Player through and through. I also have a bit of Vorthos in me... I'll complete my All Hallow's Eve deck eventually.
3. I don't really care for planeswalkers that much (I started playing in '94, if that helps explain a little bit), but if I had to pick one it'd be Nicol Bolas, because Nicol Bolas.
I've been around this site for forever. I used to have a graphics/sig shop a few years ago, and had three trophies for winning the weekly contest 20 times back when trophies were a thing. I am a former member of the Coffeehouse, back when that was a thing. I think I'm currently a member of MTGS-Brigade, but that place is deserted these days, I don't know half the people in there, and nobody there really talks about Magic in the thread. I suppose I should submit my resignation there.
I have been quite a few places and done many things, but mostly I'm an English teacher. I have a BA in English and TESOL certification, and I previously lived in Japan for two years doing just that. I've been home in the states (Ohio, specifically) for a while now BUT... I'm going back! I recently got hired by one of the large chain schools, and my paperwork should be done sometime this month, so I'll be moving back to Japan very soon. It's very exciting for me at the moment. Until I get the paperwork finalized I won't actually know where I'll be teaching in Japan... I really don't care too much as long as it's not Tokyo. I actually kinda hope it's Kyoto, because I lived in Kyoto for 6 months, and those were some of the best months of my life thus far. We'll see what happens.
What else... I play almost exclusively EDH any more. My favorite commander is Riku and my favorite non-commander deck is a modified "The Sparkler" Tempest precon based around Reins of Power and Goblin Bombardment. Other hobbies include fantasy & sci-fi literature, and anime (Here's my Hummingbird and MAL, if anyone cares to take a look). I am a fan of Sherlock Holmes, both the original stories and the BBC show. I used to play D&D, and Decipher's Star Wars D6 system back in the day. I'm currently enjoying Game of Thrones and reading The Lies of Locke Lamora.
Specifically, my EDH decks are:
Riku of Two Reflections (This is horribly outdated; I really should fix this list)
Crovax, Ascendant Hero (current)
Patron of the Orochi (current)
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic (This is only approximate. I just ordered the cards and it will probably change.)
Progenitus (It's a mess of 5 color goodstuff and I don't even have a list up)
I feel like I could write a small novel, but that's enough for now, I suppose.
I'll introduce myself once I get the OK.
I got hired by Nova, which means I'm going back to Japan in the next month or so. They won't tell me where 'til my visa paperwork is done. I just hope it's not Tokyo. Visiting is fine, but it's much too huge for me to feel comfortable living in (and expensive). On the other hand, I could end up somewhere like Hokkaido too. We'll see what happens. Needless to say I'm excited.
I may stop in and say hi more once I get set up over there. I've been getting back into Magic a little. I'm not so interested in Theros, but I'm really excited about whatever Conspiracy is, and whatever comes after Theros.
Does this have any good uses in formats apart from EDH? Two card infinite combos are always fun, nonetheless.
