Back in the old Mimeoplasm days we just turned everything into Elephants and bounced them and it was enough. Hi, everyone
I moved off from BURG reanimator because I didn't like to constantly evaluate if what I was doing shouldn't be Hulk instead. My reanimation went to Kess Twin, rebuilt Tas comboing with EEvolution into Razaketh/Tidespout into infinite mana from Scepter. But my main deck now is Najeela aggro control.
I came here to ask if you tried the undergrowth Demonic Tutor? I don't have a deck for it right now but in yours with just a dork in the grave you can find Entomb and Reanimate, with two all the reanimation.
I don't have a formed opinion on your implementation, and probably won't try it myself... but I was already running Dark Ritual because it helped me win immediately after reanimating Raz, and I liked it in the deck. So adding extra rituals doesn't seem too bad. Lowering the average cmc is nice as well.
From your list the cards I like the least are:
Diabolic Intent and LDV (I mean, you have Gamble and Seal in the list so those seem subpar)
Bazaar (proxied it but straight up didn't like the card disadvantage)
Faerie and Trickbind (they look like Hulk answers, so they maybe be alright in that context)
Spellskite and Safekeeper (found them unnecessary due to counter backup+Ooze kill being almost immune to removal)
Dack (Steal isn't great in my meta, 3 mana for sorcery speed loot isn't the best)
Void Winnower (I just never want to tutor him, so I cut him)
Noxious Revival or Journey (one is enough to combo with Twister?)
Logic Knot seems not good enough, even if it is cute with Smasher. I would prefer something like Dimir Charm, which also doubles as a wincon.
It's not that those are bad cards, it's mainly my preference.
Rakdos Charm seems hard to cast, but I just thought you can make tokens for everyone with Forbidden Orchard and Dragon and use this Charm to kill as well.
On the wincon note, I'm not too happy with Seasons Past. While I like the idea of looping utility spells for the win, you can do it with Journey+Regrowth, or even win with Witness+Winds of Rebuke. I could also just play Walking Ballista, wich also kills with Ooze. I'll have to consider.
Yeah, it's not too bad as I end up with a decent amount of lands due to Thrasios and topdeck manipulation, but... I really would like to have a Timetiwster.
I use it in addition to the Dragon. I like it for its resilience to removal, which is the main downside from Dragon.
Being three cards isn't too bad with Survival and Buried Alive.
Cool to see you using Twister loops as well. It's just sad that I have to use Seasons Past irl as a replacement.
Nice catch on the infinite life, never thought of it.
With your recent changes the main difference between your list and mine is now reduced to me using Necrotic Ooze with Devoted Druid and Morselhoarder, for infinite mana. Have you tried it?
The only red reanimation target that I like is Dragon, but without an outlet in the command zone it's not as good. Loot effects are strong with Izzet Charm, Dack, Faithless looting and Wheel, they really speed up the deck. Blasts and Vandalblast can be good depending on your meta. Fire Covenant is a good mass removal. Gamble seems interesting as well, but I have no experience with it.
That said, Inalla just needs you to get Wanderwine Prophets into play to be able to win the game, so maybe there's an argument to play her over Kess.
And also Grixis doesn't have the means to abuse Razaketh. You really benefit from having green, which dwindled my interest in the Grixis and Breya's versions.
The problem with Sire is that it makes you vulnerable to their topdecks, and Kess won't solve that. He's much better in a deck that locks the game and takes away their ability to cast spells.
I am actually interested in Grixis reanimator with Kess at the helm, I really like the red splash and although she isn't a outlet for infinite mana you don't have to go for infinite mana anyway. Good old Twin combo is a good away to finish the game and works from Buried Alive piles.
When they are exiled and returned they are fresh permanents with no memory of their previous state. Also lands you play after playing Life won't be creatures.
And ups, I was thinking of Tasigur for the Restore loop. Without Tas, you do need Twister to loop whatever you need to kill.
I can't say that I usually have loots of creatures in the grave that I mind shuffle in, usually they only go there right before I reanimate them, so Twister hasn't been harmful. It's better with Notion Thief, which also combos with Dack.

Seems like a sequel to the current storyline. To be released in November, maybe related to the fall set?

Also, how have been the Bob flips been?

Niv Mizzet is just useful as a combo piece, there's better draw and better removal. Not worth it in my opinion.

You could win looping Coliseum with Restore, or looping your deck with Timetwister
