Hey guys. I have a question. I got an email today asking about my commercial use rights for the content in my videos on youtube. The problem is all I do is match ups, booster pack openings, and trading cards. I don't have background music or a TV running in the background. So they have to be referring to my rights on having the cards in video.

Does Wizards of the Coast own the rights to the cards that you purchase from places like Walmart or Target? For example. If I open a booster pack on camera and upload it to the internet, is that copyright infringement?

Hello, I'm really interested in building a Frites deck using Unburial Rites to play some big dudes. I just don't know where to start, so I was wondering if someone has ran Frites in any competitive tournaments. That way I can have a blue print to work off of. If you're not sure, but you have your own then pls link me to it and I'll have a look.

I'm just really interested into getting more competitive at the card shop, rather then be the guy who uses the dumb Splinterfright/Spider Spawning deck. So help a fella out. Thanks.

Overrated: Vexing Devil, when someone T1's a Vexing Devil I'm pretty confident that I'm winning. It lives and dies to my convenience. T1 is the only time it's good, then I lose four life and move one. People were paying $15 at one point for this card, and now they're paying $8 for it. Vexing should be about $2 to $4 max. It's a good card for burn, and burn isn't the best.

Underrated: Sigarda, Host of Herons, spot removal such as Doom Blade, Dismember and Oblivion Ring cannot deal with her. And she protects you from being forced to sacrifice permanents from spells such as Lilliana of the Veil and Killing Wave. I'm holding onto a payset of Sigarda's because I truly believe she'll dominate and wreck house in Standard once the Mirrodin block rotates.

If I have a Circle of Protection: Black in play, and my opponent uses a Sign in Blood on me, can i prevent that. Or is Loss of Life not damage to your life points?

I'm not sure if this question has been answered, but i couldn't find an answer and i don't have time to read through every post.

If a creature with Undying dies, such as Vorapede, then i use an ability to give him a -1-1 counter would the -1-1 counter negate the +1+1 counter, and allow him to return once again?

Also, if you have a creature with Persist, and you give him Undying, then when he does, does he come back with both a -1-1, and +1+1 on him?

Where do you live? Because there's hundreds of programs that can help out people. The only thing is, you'll have to knock off the drug using completely or they won't bother helping you.

  • posted a message on Why do you think some Fantasy and Science Fiction novels are disappointing?
I'm not sure what the most important reasons are, but here's a few things that ruin a good science fiction movie or show for me.

    1. Anytime they sum everything up with a "God must of done did it!" type of line. If the movie is clearly a SCIENCE fiction, and not a spiritual fiction movie, then a non science fiction type of ending comepletely ruins it.

    2. When the direction of a science fiction tries to pander to the majority of people. I truly believe that science fiction fans are the minority of most movie genres. And they're one of the most picky groups. We don't want our science fiction movies turning into a lame hollywood production movie where the CGI and explosions is more important then the story of the movie.

    3. Alot of the upper management people behind the movie/tv business just aren't fans of Science Fiction. Science Fiction always gets the short end of the stick. They get the crappy time slots, the limited releases, the shortest seasons, and the shortest series. Not to mention, science fiction series almost always get canceled early due to low ratings, which cannot be changed because the science fiction genre isn't as big as drama, reality tv, etc. So fantastic shows like Firefly, X-Files(twice), Futurama, Fringe(Canceled after season 4), etc, get canceled when they're actually AMAZING tv shows!

  • posted a message on Games like Evony, BUT! Without Player vs Player?
So i've asked this question on ask.com, and yahooanswers, but not luck. So i figured i'd ask you guys.

I've played Evony alot, but i don't have the money to spend, or the political ability(if that makes sense) to keep myself at the same level as these other players once the server get's older, and i no longer have enough time to upkeep my profile on games like Evony, Farmville etc. So i've been looking for a game where you still build something like an army and battle. But i can't afford to spend money, and i don't have enough time to long in for six plus hours a day.

Do you guys know of any "FREE!!!" games like this?

Printing proxies is akin to pirating digital media. Since they're illegal for tourney play, it's not exactly the same, but you can still do it.

That's bending logic. Atleast attempt to explain how it's the same as downloading movies for free instead of buying them. How is "Fake Card instead of Real Card" the same as "Download Movie Free vs Buy Movie for Alot" the same?

    Quote from Mockingbird
Problem: yes, I think a non-blank DVD is worth $20 while a blank DVD is worth only $0.10 cents. To explain why, let's run with a more fitting analogy for a Magic: the Gathering Forum.

Do you think this Island is more than this Island?

So what makes these Islands so different from each other? Well, there're two differences that I can see:

    1. Supply and demand: people want Unhinged basic lands more than ordinary basic lands. With fewer Unhinged Basics in circulation than the standard Basic land card format, that also means that those players are either willing to pay the extra money the supplier wants or stick with playing with ordinary basic lands.

I'd agree with you, but the world just doesn't work like that anymore. If a movie was worth $20, then more people would by it. ALOT! of people by things they could download for free if they're worth the money. I bought a Bo Burnham CD for $10 at target despite the fact that i have all his music on my computer. Why? Because $10 is a reasonable price.

And MTG isn't a good comparison, because if their was a way to download the cards for free online, no one would every by a unhinged land for $2, and no one would've ever bought a Jace for $100.

    Really?

Yes, my D&D character is rebel/chaotic good. He doesn't fallow the laws unless they're fair. He doesn't respect people just because they're a king, or royal guard. He only respects those who are good people and he respects. He won't be respectful towards a horrible person, such as a King who holds his people under opression. If you would think about that, it might make more sense.

  • posted a message on Internet Piracy
    1) What do you think would happen if Piracy was legalized?
Movies, Music, Pornography, and Music can make money by offering the downloads free on their own websites, or streaming the videos free on their websites, and then turn around and make money through advertisement. So the money websites get through advertisement is given to the companies who actually made the product your watching, or listening to.

Also, TV shows make their money from TV commericials, and product placement. Movies make most of their money from theatres, product placement, and advertisement, not dvd, blue ray sales. Pornography makes their money through advertisement, and sales of online memberships. And musicians make most of their money from touring, and Itunes these days, not just CD sales.

    2) Could piracy ever grow out of control, regardless of it's legality?
No. Becuase a smart company can find ways to make money without selling you overpriced products. Do you really think a non-blank disk is worth $20 while a blank disk is worth $0.10? And do you really think a set of 5 DVDs with a season of CSI is worth $40 while 5 blank DVDs is worth about $1? Obviously shiping, and cases add a little more, but overall, these aren't worth the prices. I never bought movies, and i never will. The closest i've come to buying a movie is renting a movie for $1 at the corner store down the street.

  • posted a message on How old are you, and what do you do for work?
I think i'll post here again since my situations have changed.

    I'm 20 years old.
I do two things! One: I persue my hobbies such as youtube, deviant art, drawing, writing, painting, gardening, making awesome homemade stuff like soda, potato chips(with home grown potatos!), and raise hens. If that may happen to bring in money one day, awesome! if not, oh well. Two: Another hobby, but one i started to make extra spending cash. I buy things from goodwill, value village, craigslist, garage sales, flee markets etc. Then i sell them for profit. I don't spend more then about $40 a month though, because i don't want to take the risk of losing alot of money. It's obviously not a real job, but it's something to do instead of just doing nothing.
