I just came out of a LOOONNNNNGG Hiatus...To tell you something very important.

This deck was made by Karsten. It's called Karsten Baby Bot Killer, not Darjarri. The very name you gave it indicates your level of arrogance and self-centricality. To name a deck by your own screen name? You're just asking to get bashed, whats worse is when people have said NUMEROUS times that this deck is NOT a new archetype and in fact has been around for sometime.

The reason why you're getting bashed is simple, you did NOT come up with the deck and you act like you did. The deck IS KBBK, and NOT Darjarri. Get over it, change the title to Karsten Baby Bot Killer and you'll get more replies telling you how to improve the deck instead of telling you why you're so obnoxious.

    Infraction for Flaming.

word of seizing is tech aginst teferi...

split second... and suddenly your opponent can't counter anything...
then burn the hell out of that dralnu

This gets my vote as the most fun option. Grin I'd probably use that window to drop a Wildfire. Gets rid of Teferi, and absolutely wrecks their land base.

MTG, there is no way that a skeletal vampire can race against a sacred mesa, especially if the person who plays sacred mesa is smart. The best way still is still Stronghold Overseer. It totally avoids the tokens, and it can nullify any attack it tries.

Sengir Nosferatu is only so so. I thought it would be fabulous, it's not. He can also die to cruel edict. or, if someone manages to catch you without the mana. But then again he isn't that bad.

Right now, i'm just going to sit tight for when PC comes.

Actually, there is one card that i hate, and have yet to find a good answer to apart from discard or tons of removal. Sacred Mesa. I have had some success with Stronghold Overseer here. Able to completely block off their potential(mesa is one opponent that batman can't handle)

The snow mana-base is good, and there is no reason not to use scrying sheets to smooth out your draws. And it has been suggested before and many of us do run the sheets engine. I think that after damnation comes out, we really have very few reasons to run Deserts.

Yawg, no one is actually saying anything because it's pretty much a given. We all know it's good and right now i use it against aggro match ups.

hmm, magnivore....Actually, thats pretty interesting O.o....downright brilliant actually. MBC can easily fill graves with tutors, removal spells, discard spells....hmmm...

Hmmm, i've been thinking about it, and been talked to nan about it. So, splashing is alright, however, keep within the limits. Aok's idea of having Demonfire is fine, however a few pages back there was somebody's deck that had 8 blue spells. Can we agree that we try for a max of 4 cards of a different colour? Also, lets make sure that all our lands(excluding our utility type lands like Desert or Factory) produce black mana?

Niv, we've actually talked about it 1 or 2 pages back. I personally think that it's never going to counter anything important, because most good players don't mind losing some life just to get that important spell of theirs down.

Newto, actually i forgot about mindslicer. Thinking about it, it actually might be an interesting piece, against aggro it could serve as a (after the Damnation). Against Control, if we get this down before he can counter, he'll have to keep trying to save it from your own removal.

Sounds good, i suppose your sideboard would probably need prerequisite anti-graveyard pieces and you're set to go. However, you're going to find that at 12 you'll be drawing alot, maybe too many discard spells. Note that persecute is really good at discarding, usually after that 1 persecute you'll find that all the other discard cards are things that you don't want. You know what's really nice then? Thanks for the tip Boro XD

Anyway, i totally agree with the putting in Discard Maindeck, however it has to be i good measured amounts. Too many, and you're going to find that you'll be drawing alot of dead cards. As for Dash hopes being a counterspell, once again i think it's more burn than counter spell.

Helldozer is actually a very good anti-control win condition. Why? because you can easily knock out much of his mana supply.

MTG, did i say you personally? Do whatever you like with your sig man, it's your sig, not like i have to see it everytime i come here....(OMG i do!)

Anyway, a deck that i think would be potentially troublesome, is Martyrtron, I'm still amazed at the amounts of life that these guys can get. Of course they shouldn't really have much trouble against dragonstorm. One of the only ways i can see for countering that would be gauntlet of power....Which reminds me actually.

MAGUS OF THE COFFERS! The huge amounts of mana we will be able to produce....mind boggling.

EDIT: I actually remember something about the worry being mono-black decks competing to discard the other. You know what is a viable answer? Bottled Cloister

EDIT: My 100th post! Whee ^^

True true, but thats why i say i only use him in draft, just for kicks.

Anyway, I don't think MBA is really lacking anything, we have solid beaters for cheap. Sometimes the resource they cut down doesn't have to be his life, but perhaps his hand(Hyppie!)

Hmmm, barely gone for a few hours and this thread has gone 2 pages. Wow.

Anyway, as i see it, alot of people here really love the idea of splashing. Splashing good, krunk like splash. Well, i say, what's the point of playing Mono-Black if you splash? Just splash abit more and you get a few extra cards from another colour, not too bad right? Well, imagine if all of us started splashing. Where the hell does MONO-black come in? Just because they all have black? If you think like that you might as well just put Dralnu du lourve, Dragonstorm, Solar flare and U/G snakes into a thread called Mono-blue right? Well i say it's not mono-black unless you play mono-black. There are other threads with the desired colour combination of your choice, take your pick because you shouldn't really bother posting in mono-black unless you want to play mono-black, NOT Mono-black w/blue splash, NOT Mono-black w/green splash. Because those of us(Me) who started and supported(everyone else before you sycophants came running to us the moment you saw Damnation) this thread started it because we're sick and tired of splashing, We're sick and tired of having to play other colours(despite all the fun that Ravnica was, I still only wanted to play Mono), We're sick and tired of shelling out good money, just to get a set of 4-8 stupid lands that made every deck running anything OTHER than black viable, because lets face it, WotC ****ed black so hard we had no bloody hope. It was always U/W, Always W/b(which ended up more as White, splash abit of black), Always U/R. Now, when we're finally getting some good stuff, do i actually see people rushing to come here posting their decks sporting Damnation. Personally, I say, **** splashing, if you really want to splash as much as you do, bugger off.

DRjester/Notaggrozombie, if you want to run that deck, by all means please do, but don't come around here with that thing. We're trying to see what we can do with all the BLACK cards that we have.

For those who may not know about titles, you need 1000 posts i believe, to be able to change your Title to suit whatever you think you'll netdeck this time of year, I know someone who does, I believe you know him too, Did you see his dragonstorm sig just a few weeks ago? Amazing how fast he can change his sig, must be good friends with aether.

Now i realize, that splashing could potentially increase the powers of our deck quite substantially. However i do know that there are many of us here who would rather we continue making a pure mono-black deck. So, for the sake of those of us who get annoyed(tee-hee guilty as charged) by people posting their little splash decks, i suggest new comers read the first post and familiarize themselves with the guidelines.

Mirri is a card that i like really. However, i think she's more of an Aggro choice(see svogthir's sig). A few people mentioned Dash Hopes awhile back. I think, with dash hopes, we have a very solid BURN base. Personally, i see it as a very soft counterspell, having grown accustomed to paying with life sometimes, i think that it's going to be more of a burn spell, you can't guarantee a counterspell. Echoing Echo, I think that control has some really good options.

I can already see a deck forming in my head, with little or no creatures. You know how i'll get by CoP? Any form of life loss. Heck, Circle of Affliction is no safety. Another thing which gets around CoP is Urza's factory, I like this card very much.

P.S. Sorry for the little rant, i'm blowing off a little steam. Take offence, don't take offence, whatever, i don't really care. Just make sure that you post a MONO-BLACK deck, not some ****ty splash. Kapeche?

EDIT: What the hell? They censored my post -_-. Bah!

Mark, I'm saying from experience, that leyline is good, mix it with early discard and your opponent is going to have trouble. What i don't like about withered wretch is that it's a creature, it has far more hate aimed at it than any of the other permanent-types. Your much better off taking tormod's crypt as compared to withered wretch, heck, even shred memory is better, why? because they don't see it coming. Usually, they're only going to reanimate 1 creature, at the most 2. So those creatures would be the only ones in the grave. He plays generic reanimation...Surprise surprise, he's just wasted mana, lost 2-3 cards, and wasted his third/fourth turn, depends. Withered Wretch, they're going to blow it clear first. Also, about the nether traitor thing, it was just a suggestion, i'm not asking you to run nantuko-traitor. I know it's clunky, and i've never really liked it very much. However, nether traitors alone, i have found to be very useful, even in a control deck, pinging the opponents life down little by little. It's good enough for me to make any of my win cons a 1 turn clock.

As for everyone worked up over Haakon, it's really just meant as a 1 or 2 of in the deck, If it's there than goodie, if not, it's not a loss. It's always nice to have little surprises for your opponents.

Since everyone is into discussing the future cards. Lets discuss cards that are going to be a bother. Calciderm. The white blastoderm. What i would suggest against something like that is to use alot of small creature removal spells, like funeral charm, last gasp, etc and top it off with a cruel edict. Of course, you could always damnation, but who's rich enough to buy a playset of these?

You know what's nice? Skulking knight. I know many are going to say, "nah, it sucks" I personally have had alot of fun with these. Of course thats not a serious choice. But Nether Traitor is a card i love.
