I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
I could get behind lynching either iRebel/trabant or MTG~DDS today. I'm convinced they're both scum, the one that doesn't get lynched today can easily be dealt with D2.
The iRebel/DDS camps seem to be relatively exclusive; I don't believe there's a true dichotomy, but I do think it very likely that only one of them would be scum. So being willing to lynch both is... suspect. Mafia do bus*, but I do not have reason to believe that this is the case currently.
(*I don't remember if we ever covered this, but for DDS, to bus is to 'throw someone under the bus,' a scum tactic of sacrificing a teammate to gain town credit.)
@all
So Annorax is claiming Jaffar, vanilla.
Claims in this game seem pretty easy to fake. At wich point it is beliveable? (To clarify, I'm not saying I don't believe his, just asking)
This bolded part here. "I'm not saying I don't believe his" makes it seem like you do believe it.
I'm not saying that's the case here, but I'd like to be more sure before we move along.
How "sure" would you like to be? How are you measuring this sure-ness? Are you willing to bite the bullet even if you aren't sure?
It should be obvious that I'm not comfortable lynching someone that I believe has a solid chance of being town. The only way I would is if it gave us solid information about someone else being scum in the event they did flip town. That being said, I've noticed some things that are making me feel a little iffy about iRebel.
Quote from iRebel »
Though if you do mislynch me today, how will that effect your reads? Same question to Annorax.
smells a little of fearmongering.
Quote from Wheat_Grinder »
You know I actually kinda feel like either DDS and iRebel are both town or both scum after both having posted the same idea.
In light of that, what do you think of Annorax wanting to lynch both?
@Swish: That's the thing that confuses me. Individually they look scummy as hell, but there's nothing that tells me they're actually working together. Can't place it, but they both have my scumdar going crazy. I guess it's possible that only one of them is scum?
Why would two scum members out each other, fight each other so openly, and get the other killed on day 1? Even trying to build town cred, that seems like a horrible idea to cut your team by 1/3 on day one!
You bus your scumbuddy, we lynch him, he flips scum & you come out of it all but confirmed as town. I've seen enough games where that sort of thing's happened & the "confirmed" scum has coasted through to endgame & never been questioned.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
@swishh: Ok, now I can write a bigger post about MTG~DDS and iRebel/Trabant.
It's possible they're trying to bus each other, but the way they engage, it seems unlikely. Both sides are too aggressive for it to be bussing. But one of them feels like mafia. Sure, MTG~DDS contradicted himself, but town can do that, especially about things that are factual rather than opinions. He said he read the guides, but I can see skimming over it and not putting the effort iRebel did into proving something like the 9/3 split to himself.
But iRebel, first, let's ignore Trabant for now, because he's right that to base an entire case off of a previous player. So he comes in, and makes a big post about what's really a small issue. He goes out of his way to find all the evidence he can, so that he can make DDS look bad. It really sat poorly for me.
Then he says "Though if you do mislynch me today". That speaks to me of trying too hard to be town. That says to me "I need to look town, so I'm going to use mislynch because town are always a mislynch."
Finally, we get this gem:
"2. If I were scum, why on EARTH would I use my first big post to call someone out? From a scum mentality, wouldn't I want to take a lower key approach at first? Settle back and slowly work my way into the fold? Doing so would keep my profile lower. Lower profile works better, imo, for lowering scum suspicion than jumping right in like I did. "
As W_G said, this is complete WIFOM. Why would you do that as mafia? So you can say that as soon as you joined, you were hunting. So you could say you couldn't possibly be mafia because you're raising suspicion on yourself. No it's WIFOM, and it's use is bad.
Ok, so that's a case I feel pretty comfortable on... Oh wait, there's one last thing, you replaced Trabant, who was really bad too.
That's 4 really good reasons.
So Unvote, Vote iRebel

@MTG~DDS: the only thing that has changed from that list you quoted is that you are now a potential scum read. Please show where my reads have done a "180."
This is the what I'm talking about on Swishh doing 180. Posted his scum rainbow. He has me as his most solid town read to now Has me as definitely scum. His only reasoning was that I talked about the numbers thing...which he admits himself was a null point. If that was his only evidence against me, he is contradicting himself. Magenta went from blue on his rainbow to now, "doesn't look good for you." All Magenta did was agree with someone else's post that actually had seemed to have good logic in it. The other two I had in my notes were actually reversed when I was note taking...so in light of that, I may retract my statement.

Post 164 calls out Trabant and LMCD "scummy as hell"
Quite simply, I wanted to gather information & figure out where the scum is without starting or reviving a wagon that'd lead to a mislynch. Why lead the scum to a freebie when we can actually scumhunt?
so why are you voting me over trabent?
You both look scummy as hell, but you're scummier to me.

The other thing that bothered me was that He speaks of his experience here:

I know the second statement was not saying he has no experience, but the way he played it seemed to be asking for a pass on a "rookie mistake.". The first comes from someone speaking with authority and knowledge.

But there is a big difference in knowing how stuff should work and making a mistake as you come back to the game.
How do you MTG-DDS feel about the speed of the wagon? More than one person said they though it was fast.

No, it would not. You read that you were being read scum, and had to throw a hay-maker to get back into the game as a town read.

@TK: As a townie who entered the game in a suspect, at best, state, I don't exactly have a lot of options on my plate, now do I? I either jump in or lurk. We can debate until the rapture as to whether or not one truly is scummier than the other, but I had to make a choice, and I felt that lurking was scummy as hell in this scenario. I have nothing to hide, so I went in.
If I get lynched for that decision then I'll file it away for future references. But I make no apologies for going after what I believed to be a lie.
@WG: I stated a fact. The only way I could "prove" I am town would be to claim (and will if asked), but you and I both know all that's going to result in is a massive eye roll. But nevertheless, I'll claim if asked.
And I picked blue because I like blue. I also like Green, Red, Orange, Black, Silver, Grey, Burnt Sienna, and Purple. I dislike Yellow, Brown, any variant of Orange that isn't Neon, Bubblegum Pink, Gold, and Sea Green. I'm ambivalent to Sky Blue, Periwinkle, Turquoise, Maroon, Magenta, and Denim.

For future reference, that's a false dichotomy. You don't have to be all-in or lurk. There's also the middle road. I'm not sure it would have helped in this situation, as all three options could be interpreted badly. If I had to rank my reasons, your entrance would probably be #4. Your use of WIFOM to make it look town would be #1. It's null at best for the reasons above. The Trabant's actions, unfortunately, would probably be #2 and the mislynch quote #3.
With a claim of Vanilla, I'm comfortable with this lynch still. Even if you are one of my favorite Pixar villains

Though replacing in, then immediately announce "I'm going to hammer" seems strange to me. No time to offer reads, thoughts on the game at the time?
Correct. Seeing now that volunteering it this early on was play mistake. Will delay vote further pending post of reads. Primarily voting because of iRebel's stance on his lynch. My d1 is generally bad.
I feel it's just a genuinely positive play. A sudden hammer is disruptive, and some players may have relevant input that just needs to finish being written up before it can be posted that won't be of any use if the hammer comes down before they can post. IRebel's at l1 and stopped defending himself, which is why I volunteered to hammer. His impatience is also of note on this. Either he believes that the best play is to die or he's simply checked out.
I can't think of a situation where town wants to die unless they think their flip outright catches scum, but scum often self hammer because they want to cut analysis short and remove a name from the wagon ( by placing themselves on it instead. )
There is wine to be had from the notion of me being scum: One of
My first games caught scum because of a bad hammer play, and there's not much attention on me save my being a replacement. It could have been a simple task to coast through today and wait for the hammer to drop by someone else's hands rather than put myself in the open like this.
But I didn't and the reason im going to stand by is this: I like being an active player in a game. I enjoy being involved and I have a hard time doing so day one. It's also why I /replace instead of /in. Mid to late game is more fun for me.
It is the former, Nyxu. I don't have the necessary credibility to either continue a defence or make convincing arguments. Sending me to the gallows removes an obstacle for the town going forward.

I've done a reread. There's some day-1 solid arguments made against iRebel, not to mention the fact that both Trabant and iRebel have displayed resignation. At this point I see no reason to continue this Day.
My final post for the Day: If I die tonight, if iRebel is scum then DDS is very likely to be scum while Annorax is moderately likely to be town, and if iRebel is town, DDS is very likely town and Annorax is very, very likely to be scum.

I'm sorry guys, I'm having little to no time these days.
Even if I don't really agree with general opinions about iRebel, I do agree that we need more info to go on. As I can be wrong, and haven't seen enough on him to be alarmed of an obvious mislynch, I won't oppose to the lynch.
The bickering and the fighting lasted for hours. The masked group did not trust the machinations of Pete. But, for the most part, they did not trust each other any much more. Only one fact remained: someone had poisoned Cruella. This was the only solid lead they had to speculate on. The fighting grew loud and contentious and nobody could hear each others words; they simply were talking over another and getting out of control. Pete knew this was just what the traitors wanted, so he tried to calm everyone down. But it was too much for him, a lonely spectator, to quell the voices and opinions on people who operated in much more villainous ways than he did. Exasperated, he slouched in a chair. A chair that was intended for the leader of the villains. But he was not leading the villains, he was powerless as to what was going on.
A silent voice in the shadows murmured something. Nobody heard it except for Pete. Pete walked up to the masked villain and asked the villain to repeat what was said. The villains turned to look, because it was the first time Pete had addressed a villain since the ordeal began. The room grew quiet.
The masked stranger simply raised a finger and pointed. “It was him.” All the villains turned around and stared at the person being pointed at. This was the very first direct accusation that had surfaced. The day was wearing thin and the villains knew that information was hard to come by. This might be their only chance at a lead.
Pete walked up to the person being pointed at and bellowed, “Is this true?” The masked man squirmed a little as if flailing his body. He was tired and could only muster a “Why are you willing to trust that villain’s word?” The villains all looked back to the accuser, but the accuser had vanished. With that slight distraction, the accuser had slipped back into the crowd of twelve! Pete knew he had to go on this one and only lead or be damned and face the villains ripping themselves apart even further.
Pete grabbed the mask off of iRebel. A gasp of shock came from every villain as the man behind the mask was…Pete? The crowd quickly dog piled him, not knowing what to do under this circumstance. The new Pete tried to slip away, but someone caught his leg and he hit his head on the cold marble floor. The disguise vanished and in its stead was:
Randal, Smarmy Shapeshifter
Movie: Monster’s Inc.
Town Vanilla
Pete looked around the room. The traitors had eliminated one more of the villains. Everyone was too exhausted to pursue anything further, and truth be told, they trusted each other even less than before (if that even was possible). They all parted ways and retired to the quarters that had been set up for each of them. Pete picked up Randal and carried him off someplace no one saw. The blood on the floor remained the only evidence of his demise.
It is now Night One and will last 72 hours. Do not post until I have announced it is Day again. Please send your Night Actions into me as soon as possible. Night will not start any earlier than 72 hours from now.
The new day dawned and the Villains began to file into the room where two deaths had occurred. Pete, looking like he didn’t get a wink of sleep last night, stumbled into the masked and robed crowd and yawned. He knew what needed to happen. The Villains would have to have another debate about which one of them needed to die today. Which one of them was a traitor? Randal was a mistake; Cruella was a tragedy. He didn’t want to repeat either of those things today.
Pete began to deliver a speech that he had planned all night when he was trying to sleep. He wanted to rally the Villains; motivate them to analyze all the evidence and figure out once and for all who need to pay for the crimes they committed.
“Good morning, Villains,” Pete began. “Now that you’re all here…”
A voice hissed from the crowd; “No, we are not all here…” A second voice announced, “We are missing the one named Polski.”
At that moment, Polski stumbled into the room. He was not wearing his robe and mask, and the Villains saw exactly who he was. He was:
Oogie Boogie, The Scariest Thing You’ll Ever Meet
Movie: The Nightmare Before Christmas
Vanilla Town
Oogie began to shout, “Somebody please help…” But he was unable to finish. As he begged for assistance, two vines shot out of his mouth. They began to curl around his arms. The Villains backed away cowardly; nobody was going to get hurt trying to save him. Oogie Boogie’s chest began to throb, and vines shot out from the seams in his legs. They began to wrap his lower body. Oogie Boogie fell to his knees. As the vines constricted his limbs, his chest exploded. The rags that made up his body tore and revealed a plant; no, not just a plant: a bouquet of lilies! Oogie Boogie was able to scream one last time before succumbing to his death.
Pete had just witnessed another tragedy; so much for wishful thinking. The Villains were less than shocked. The traitors were getting more creative. Today, they had to make one of them pay.
It is now Day Two! With 10 alive, it‘s 6 to lynch!
So because the exact two people you said would need to flip town to make you suspect annorax died and flipped town you're taking It at face value and deciding that he must be scum, despite scum ch

This bolded part here. "I'm not saying I don't believe his" makes it seem like you do believe it.
It should be obvious that I'm not comfortable lynching someone that I believe has a solid chance of being town. The only way I would is if it gave us solid information about someone else being scum in the event they did flip town. That being said, I've noticed some things that are making me feel a little iffy about iRebel.
smells a little of fearmongering.
In light of that, what do you think of Annorax wanting to lynch both?

You bus your scumbuddy, we lynch him, he flips scum & you come out of it all but confirmed as town. I've seen enough games where that sort of thing's happened & the "confirmed" scum has coasted through to endgame & never been questioned.

https://twitch.tv/SwiftorCasino (yes, my team and I run live dealer games for the baldman using his channel points as chips)

Because you are trying to implant the idea that you'd be a mislynch without actually providing reasons that you would not be.
Why did you use blue?
Annorax is probably town then, unless one of them flips town.
This is further supported by me feeling like TK is probably the third scum. He doesn't feel at all like Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.
What if both are town?
Something that irks be about this post is the level of confidence you portray in having found all three scum.
Annorax
Post 164 calls out Trabant and LMCD "scummy as hell"
Post 259 calls out me and iRebel "scummy as hell"
But earlier in the game plays a pseudo-Noobcard:
I know the second statement was not saying he has no experience, but the way he played it seemed to be asking for a pass on a "rookie mistake.". The first comes from someone speaking with authority and knowledge.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint, but I don't think I've played the same in each of my games. I'm not sure why. It may just be player adaptation, as Robots I replaced into an energetic group, where here it seems more subdued. But hey, I'm always open to questions, just like in Robots. And I won't avoid asking questions when the mood strikes me.

How do you MTG-DDS feel about the speed of the wagon? More than one person said they though it was fast.
No, it would not. You read that you were being read scum, and had to throw a hay-maker to get back into the game as a town read.

If they're both town? I feel much much worse about Annorax. I just said that.
Could you explain in greater detail what irks you about my confidence level? Include what you believe my confidence level to be.
This is a somewhat reasonable explanation. Regardless, IGMEOY.
I believe iRebel is on L-2.
Are there any other colours you'd like my position on?

Fair enough. I don't have the long history of visible games for you to peruse.

Adding on to what has already been said, slowrolling the hammer is the correct move as both alignments.

Pete looked around the room. The traitors had eliminated one more of the villains. Everyone was too exhausted to pursue anything further, and truth be told, they trusted each other even less than before (if that even was possible). They all parted ways and retired to the quarters that had been set up for each of them. Pete picked up Randal and carried him off someplace no one saw. The blood on the floor remained the only evidence of his demise.
It is now Night One and will last 72 hours. Do not post until I have announced it is Day again. Please send your Night Actions into me as soon as possible. Night will not start any earlier than 72 hours from now.
He was:
Vote: Annorax
