I don't know how to feel about this card (Reap Intellect) Lobotomy was the first Gold card I fell in love with,
and I like the idea of an X version,
but this just feels overpriced/underwhelming.
It should let you cast the exiled spells or something-
as-is, there's little reason to run this instead of Slaughter Games,
or to justify the upgrade from Uncommon to Mythic
(though I guess the did that for Rakdos's Return, as well)
The only thing that makes Slaughter Games at all competitive with this is the uncounterable factor. I would rather pay one more mana to be sure I'm actually stripping a card from their hand. The scalability is gravy.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
Sadistic Sacrament seems to do the similar trick? Add some kind of discard, though.
Never thought simple spider (ok, not simple, flashy uncounterable problue spider) would make me so happy, but here it is
Sadistic Sac has the option to be used for BBB (which is how it is almost always used). This new mythic requires a minimum of 5 mana to hit 1 card which is more expensive than the traditional Lab effect.
Not to say the card isn't interesting, but after Mind Grind it REALLY feels like they are just box checking what already existing Dimir effects they can stick onto an X spell or creature rather than design anything new.

Intellect (Mythic) Sorcery Target opponent reveals hand, you choose X non-land cards from among them. Search that player's library, hand and graveyard for cards with the same name of those cards and exile them. Then that player shuffles library.
so for 5 mana you hit 1 card from hand and (if they have the other 3 copies in their deck) 3 more from the library
6 mana you get up to 2 cards from hand, 6 from library.
7 mana could be 3 from hand, 9 from library
sacrament doesnt get anything from hand.
at big mana, that card is beastly.
unfortunately, the best format for big mana is commander- where this is just a bad mind twist
if you can get it to connect, i can see it being good in the control mirror in standard. but its definitely too late against aggro
Man I love this block. I got me a mill skele with awesome art, the og Rav removal with awesome art, a reanimating enchant with awesome art, a legend that gives everything decent costed scavenge, and now a smart assed spider.
I wish to see pictures! Show me the future bane of my brothers existance!

There is buried treasure everywhere...in a graveyard.
Turn 3 or 4 Plasm Capture into Reap Intellect for 4-5 could be a blowout in a BUG control deck, if one becomes viable. I could see that happening. I think you board it out on the draw though.
Dimir what Dimir they dont exist. The reason they are so secret is cause no one cares about them Sucky guild just keeps sucking 1 card wont change that.

My main problem with the mythic is that by the time you get enough mana to really make it hurt, your opponent may not have a hand of more than a card or two and you'll never know if one or more of those cards is a land until you pay to see their hand. Typically when my opponent is playing black, once I get to 5-6 lands I try to hold a land or 2 in my hand just for discard fodder. If I know my opponent is playing this card I'll definitely be trying to get my opponent to waste a turn and this card tha way

Reap Intellect seems really cool, but that casting cost seems tough.
A comic about the world's most addictive game, Magic: The Gathering.

C'mon, if there had been no Lobotomy effects on Dimir, that would have been disappointing too.
From memory the Spider is 1G and the Scion is 3WW
Except the (potentially) better lobotomy effect was already printed in Rakdos for some reason.... Ball was dropped for Dimir in pretty much every way.
How do you figure?
From a discussion about skipping town and fleeing from the law:
While trying to ambush a creature who favored grabbing and strangling PCs:
Sarcasm detected.

Because the Dimir don't make any sense at all mechanically this block.
I have to agree. Tragic, considering Transmute and some of the old Ravnica Dimir stuff.
