Am I remembering wrong, or do you make an awful lot of posts about not being able to say things?
You aren't remembering wrong.
I tend to prefer to make updates if I can't respond to things, rather than just flat out vanish from a game without posting. Feels inconsiderate to the other players.
See: every other game I've been in (except maybe Gotham Underground, I think I was shot by scum before I had to take a few days away from the game for whatever reason).

well, when he's scum.
This kind of feels like smearing for the sake of smearing - it's not something that is indicative of alignment (both because I'm town this game, and because I do it every game, if I can't post for a few days for whatever reason), and I think Meg knows that.
voxx has been posting plenty in his other games, so I don't know why he can't post here.
I was caught up in the other games, and had limited time. Needed a larger chunk of time to sit down and re-read this to be able to contribute effectively.
And I was having trouble summoning the motivation to do so, for reasons I can't really articulate. I like larger games better and more complex games better, and there wasn't exactly an increase in the post count that made me want to find out what was going on.
Could you rephrase what you were trying to say in this post, Voxx? I agree Iso's intentions were clear, but why did you feel the need to mention them in combination with the gut read?
Not sure if it's actually relevant at this point, but can try.
1) I acknowledge that the backpedal off of 'Iso/Meg were pushing a mass claim' thing was sketchy, mostly because I couldn't see how Karn would mis-read Iso as pushing for a mass claim - as I thought Iso's meaning was clear.
2) Despite that, I still thought Karn was town due to a gut read borne of frustration that felt real.
I mentioned them together because they were contradicting reads that just didn't outweigh the overall gut feeling.

I think AG is the most likely to be scum in a vaccum at the moment - the majority of his posts seem to be questions for the sake of questions with no followup, and a lack of comitting to anything. Feels much more like Chimes AG than it does Redux AG.
I'd rather lynch Silver over Karn, if those are the two options. I've been jerked back and forth on the Karn read from one extreme to another over the re-read, but I'm still having trouble shaking how genuine the claim/reaction to Meg went down.
Plus, there's the fact that Meg is making me super uneasy this game.
Xyre and Iso are both clear town - the Ghosting/Parinoid/Zionite cluster are likely town due to lack of self-awareness and the mindset that indicates. Plausible that one of them is good at faking it, but don't really think so.
That gives us three scum in the remaining six, with a couple of those people being likely unaligned - Meg/ER, Meg/Karn.
With a gun to my head I'd say scum team is AG, Silver and one of ER or Jey. The latter two largely by Not Being Town despite a pretty decent cluster of town reads forming.
For me it's just 1 "scum" too many. Pretty opportunistic play.
I'll wait to vote Karn until I know it's not a speed lynch.
Could you clarify these two sentences? What is "opportunistic" and why is it "1 'scum' too many"? Why do you find it necessary to wait on Karn? What difference does no lnoger being a "speed lynch" make?
(Xyre said just to say that and everyone will believe me. Is it working? Did Xyre lie to me? :()
Anyway though, yea. If Iso is actually town this game it'd be pathetic. Meg looks obvscum to me. Arian is even more obvious AND more people agree on that one - so I change vote to the obvscum wagon that's actually going to happen toDay.
This reminds me of Basic #72. Void told Seppel that he was town. Seppel accepted it and so PG(scum) decided to join in with calling himself town. He had the same "Will this make people believe me?" spiel.
Anyways, why would Iso being town be "pathetic"?
Voxx, you do realize that neither you nor Arian actually answered my questions. It's moot now though, since you are town and Arian claims he won't be doing anything more today.
Redux is not a good source of my meta. For the first 2 days, I had lots of questions that were left unasked because of the post restriction. Day 3, the game was beyond the questioning everyone portion and I had caught Cyouni in a lie. My Day 1 playstyle is clearly not going to be identical to how I post after some flips and a caught scum.
The "lack of self awareness" argument isn't very solid. Zionite's post is more aware than average, not less. He's poking fun at "fence-sitting", that isn't a lack of awareness.
Gotta love Chrome. Forum freaks out when I hit submit, but luckily "back" gives me my post.

Can we try to tone down the spamminess? There were a lot of no-content posts to get through.
Anyways, sorry for the disappearance, my activity on site has been a bit erratic due to some RL stuff. I got a good night's sleep last night though and am caught up.
oh, I forgot another part of the karn case, which was spending his time worrying about what "pulling a shark" meant rather than doing anything.
this is bad on two fronts: 1, he was wasting time with useless posts. 2, he was badgering me about something unknown to him, which is almost exclusively something I see scum do. Scum are afraid of the unknown in a way that town aren't, and (out of fear) they will attempt to remove the unknowns.
Megiddo, I don't think this is necessarily true. Look at MM7. As much as the scum were fishing like crazy in the game, the town were badgering for the unknown just as much — to the point of forcing a claim from a bulletproof.
Your statement might hold true with experienced players, but your characterization of Karn to date is that he's still getting his bearings in Mafia despite having been in previous games.
Oh, while I'm here, Aryan Rod, do you believe Karn to be scum at this point?
I believe there to be a chance of it, and I would like more pressure on him. My read on him isn't firm enough to be like OMG CRUSADE, but I'm fine with shaking the tree and seeing what falls out.
So why aren't you pressuring him?
What do you see to pressure him on further, that I'm failing at? My vote is on him, and his last posts were already addressed by Voxx. We're only 11 pages in, here, and ~4 ish were RVS. That isn't exactly a lot of material to work with. I've made my complaints clear, I believe.
Full of crap.
Look at that first sentence. We can rephrase it as "What else scummy has Karn done?" Translation: what can you tell me that I can use to lynch this townie? Arian's still getting others to do his work for him. Add that to citing Voxxicus without even saying what Voxxicus has said, and it's clear he's a barnacle on this wagon.
Then there's more whinging: "That isn't exactly a lot of evidence to work with." "I've made my complaints clear." NO YOU HAVEN'T! You said ONE THING in criticism of Karn, way way WAY back at the beginning of the game; you brusquely acquiesced to Karn's counter; and then you said "he's probably scum, someone else pressure him"! You know what you sound like? You sound like a Roman emperor caricature, lying in a sedan chair being fed grapes and waving at your guards to drag the prisoner to the pits. It's ridiculous.
In the interest of moving the game forward and because of the ironic humor that he got into this situation because of discussing claiming... Vote Karn Claim plox.
@JK: If Karn flips town, then we probably want to lynch Iso or Megiddo next... If Karn flips scum though, it looks bad for you...
This is atrocious. Now I'm torn between not liking Karn, and also not liking you.
Sure, pikachugundam's vote isn't great, but Arian's comments don't get more insightful than "atrocious". Admittedly, "atrocious" is within the set of normal reactions, but the two sentences together feel like an actual case of someone picking at low-hanging fruit, per Jey K.
PPE: So, you admit to wanting to just coast along? I hear you on the whole "nothing is happening" bit, but if you think that Karn is town, there's a whole game full of other people that you could case. Not sure if lazy or scum...or both =/
This is the clincher. He accuses PPE of wanting to coast along and complaining that nothing is happening. What did Arian just do to justify his continued non-presence on the Karn wagon?
HE COMPLAINED THAT NOTHING WAS HAPPENING!
Take note that this is the SAME POST. It doesn't get more hypocritical than that.
The rest of this section is off (that smilie especially - why would that be his reaction to a lazy scum? Maybe if PG is his scum buddy...), but that piece alone is lethal.

Seriously, what is this post?
You make a good case on Silver, identify him as mafia, and then immediately jump onto Karn right after saying that the two won't be scum together. (quoted earlier in this post)
Why are you jumping onto the admittedly bad wagon and throwing out all of your earlier analysis?
This game isn't fun any more. Iso and Meg are being too obnoxious.
Xyre: can you explain your vote.
Can you explain yours?
I explained why arian is scum a few posts back (in my ts). And your pbpa sold me on the fact that he should be toDay's lynch (and the fact that no one else is hopping on a Meg or Iso wagon).
Your turn.
You're bussing him. You saw a strong opening to blunt suspicion on yourself and get behind a good wagon, and took it.
Remarkably distant from the game - doesn't feel like Hobbit mafia at all, but could just be an overall activity thing.

Obviously I'd prefer to not die toDay, since I would actually put effort in Tomorrow, but that's also a weak reason to keep me alive at best. Your only point is that you think he's playing the same as he was in an ongoing game that you're both in.
Do you have any reasons that can actually be used?
Yes but I literally can't justify them without referencing an ongoing game. Notice the lack of being badgered about this by the more experienced fellows here.

Iso stop pushing an atrocious lynch and contribute something to the game. Why isn't Arian a better lynch toDay?

What, to you, makes lynching Sir Karn so atrocious?
> contribute something to the game
> implying you've contributed to the game

I agree that Iso should actually do something. He hasn't made content in days.
We're one in the same. Presented a case on a desired target and persuaded others to partake in the pursuing the same target.

Unvote, Vote SilverSihhe
which I think makes five.
Experiments Series: #5 (Courtly Intrigue Mafia) | #4 (Drunken Tracker) | #3 (Big Red Button) - coming soon | #2 (Pope Mafia) | #1 (Iso's Inflammable Mafia)
Mini Games: MTGS Mafia Redux II (Invitational, Evil Mirror Universe) | Unreal City
Old Games (bad): The Greenwood Affair | Blood Moon Mafia
You obviously haven't read #157.

I caught the scum team, sorry that's not enough for you oh wait you're on it no wonder you're *****ing.
I don't remember you presenting a case at all on anyone. Try something more compelling?
He's completely imploded and not useful at all for interaction analysis anymore. He's just being belligerent, whereas Arian can still be milked for information (though I'm quite certain that you're his scumbuddy).

What happened between that and this:
?
Your only point is that you think he's playing the same as he was in an ongoing game that you're both in.
Do you have any reasons that can actually be used?
I don't like it as a flat out rule. It all needs evaluated on a case by case basis.
You're not getting anything useful out of me, sadly. I'm just a VT.
Obviously I'd prefer to not die toDay, since I would actually put effort in Tomorrow, but that's also a weak reason to keep me alive at best. I'd like a chance to have SOME input before I get strung up (which bare minimum isn't going to happen until post-prereleases), but if you guys want to move ahead, then that's fine too. Fairly certain that nothing I say will be taken seriously, anyway. I've been painted scum too effectively to be listened to.
So...yeah. Do what you need to do. If I'm still alive come next week by some miracle, then I should be able to provide some content.
He made another post that I couldn't rationalize away as being merely stupid, and I realized I was making justifications for him to fit his behavior to my claim analysis.

Yes but I literally can't justify them without referencing an ongoing game. Notice the lack of being badgered about this by the more experienced fellows here.
Well, if you've claimed to have caught the scum team and assume I'm part of it, you have a lot more work to do.
Fair enough @ Karn but I'm still not voting for him.
@ case, #267 but it's more or less a small follow-up on the existing case with a fair question that STILL hasn't been answered (and also signifies my reasoning for the vote).

Yeah, Silver's scum. Let's hang him.

Waiting on ER/voxx to answer my question.
