That is a 'throwback' factor. Remember the old style card frames? Though it became less pronounced as time went on, all the old text boxes had unique 'textures'. Take a look at some 4th edition or older cards and you can see it very clearly. Green used to have a wood grain text box. Blue was very wavy, like water, red cracked like stone. White and black were unique textures, just nothing I can clearly define.
Here's my Visual Spoiler.
After they publish the images i will proocheck the visual spoiler and include it in my website, and start adding cardlinks to the "homage cards", like previous ones.
For the interested, i also just added the Unglued Visual Spoiler to the list.
This is a version of the visual spoiler html file posted by OneSadCookie upthread. I fixed all but one of the remaining glitches. I couldn't find the correct spelling of Frozen Aether, but every other card is there.
Auramancer's Guise is indeed an Aura, not an Instant, and is even more useless than we thought. The Sulphur Elemental has Split Second...
Not that we need another copy of it posted, but it is not that big, so meh. I fixed "Frozen_%B5ther" and I also added some breaks to separate the different colors and the color shifted cards.
I know it isn't completly on topic, but it is a response to someone on this thread. Some people like the silly flavor text, if it was all serious it would be boring. I personaly love the mix of puns, stories, and quotes that they have in PC. I love that they have some of the old storyline flavor text that they don't do anymore to help feature the twists from the old timelines.

QFT, TwoBah.
By the way, one of the most incredible is Kor Dirge.
Rath's new evincar eliminated the brutish moggs and took a new slave race, one more reminiscent of her own feline grace.
They played the thing with Mirri the Cursed to the bitter end :), and the cat warrior indeed replaced Crovax as the evincar in this reality.
Also, Sunlance suggests that our beloved Weatherlight healer chose a different career: Orim, Samite inquisitor With a quote that could very well belonged to Radiant in the normal universe.
Jodah's Avenger is a visual reference to Soldevi Golem, if I am not mistaken.
I've downloaded all of the pictures into MWS format (xxx.full.jpg) with proper names (no underscores). Is there anywhere that I could put these re-formatted pictures? Do any other Mac users want the Automator script?

Most definatley, what irked me about Dream Artist is that is broke the fourth wall since it really has not much to do with land conceptually, and then I am not so fond of puns. Silly, im happy with. I mean, Toggo (and Toggo VI now) is probably one of my favorite characters.
Kor Dirge is very excellent aswell, I would say I like that one more than Flamefright Mage from an execution standpoint.
Bog Serpent is just classic though, and brought a huge smile to my face.

I dont know if someone has already pointed this, but, torchling was pongified,
Nice catch with Pongify! Now we just need to figure out who is getting Ovinized!

just to help i think that the one getting ovinized is some Benalish, Keldon soldier, maybe the one in keldon marauders i'm not sure yet i have to look better
Edit: The helmet in ovinize is indeed keldon but the staff it's weird...
The red sledgehammer/picks are just a general weapon of red-aligned warriors. So it could be Torchling, who is imitating such a warrior, or just some general person.

At some point, Flavor-text character Tavalus became a full priest; he was just an acolyte in TS. Adom Capashen, a Benalish Hero in TS, is now a Benalish Knight.
As noted above, Orim is not a healer, but Orim, Samite Inquisitor in an alternate reality.
Toggo VI is a goblin Military theorist; he takes after Toggo, the Onslaugt block goblin weaponsmith.

What are you talking about? it's a pun referencing the card sleight of hand... instead of reviewing 2 cards for the sake of one, it's getting 2 lands for the price of one (and another card). The 4th wall remains intact...
im not sure if it goes here but does anyone know how to put the pics of the split cards on mws? i cant add cards like bust/boom cuase it wont take the " / "
Perhaps I missed it in a previous thread, but all vanishing cards have a red aether/electrical cloud thingy on it... I personally don't like it much, it looks weird on most cards, I think the suspend field is better in art design; it fits on almost every card.

Sleight of Hand is a common expression.
The point was, the card has nothing to do with Lands outside its mechanics, and refrencing that in the flavor text is just clunky.

Nice touch Wizards, but lets try and stay away from bad puns and breaking the fourth wall. Preferably stay away from both on the same card...

That should be everything.
