Just called my local card shop (they just opened since I'm on the west coast). They don't have it yet. When they do, I'll go pick it up and scan it for you guys.
I like the card, especially since it's a new interesting "tribal" card. Treefolk seems like a newly supported card in recent years (looking at gatherer). This could be good, hardly any goblins is a good thing for extended/legacy.
I just got a call from my friend who is at the card store right now. He has filled me in on all the other info on the Treefolk.
Battlewand Treefolk 2G
Creature- Treefolk Warrior
Whenever you play a forest, Battlewand Treefolk gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
Whenever you play a Treefolk spell, Battlewand Treefolk gets +2/+2 Until end of turn.
Collectors number: 197/301 P/T= 1/3
I was slightly off on the abilitys. It get's +2/+2 from forests being played, not any land, and "Treefolk spell" is different than "Treefolk card".
In the MWS world, for many players, winning also makes you a noob.
The same applies to:
-Knowing the rules.
-Netdecking.
-Not netdecking.
-Using old versions of a card (yeah, it has hapenned to me: "Ugh... ugly pic noob")
-Knowing English.
-Using phases.
-Countering spells.
<@MarkRosewater> THis is a secret we've carefully guarded but for this chat I'm going to spill the beans.
<@MarkRosewater> Some cards in Magic are better than others.
<@MarkRosewater> Ssh, don't tell anyone.
I'm a bit surprised we don't have a picture for this card yet. I remember the last few preview commons showing up pretty quickly. (Yet we got the release promo card earlier then ever before )

1/3
197/301
WOW. That's pretty insane. If that's true, good stuff.
It's in the range of alot of burn spells.
I figure that the casting cost is cheep because we don't have any cheep playable Treefolk. If this next block is going to focus on the creature types that never quite made it to the spotlight, we're going to need some playable treefolk. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Sapling Treefolk, (A sapling is a small tree) that could be costed at 1G and have a P/T of 1/2.

[sarcasm]ZOMG it can die to wrath, this card is not good at all [/sarcasm]
isamaru dies to incinerate, as does watchwolf, as does serra avenger, as does goyf (sometimes). does it make them unplayable? of course not.
does this mean that every creature around has to have 4+ toughness to be playable as long as incinerate is in the format, i dont think so.

They cost 1 and/or 2 mana and have power more than CMC, by the way. But the point made. It was rather obvious for someone to write a post like yours ~___^
Of course, playability of this card depends not on Incinerate, but on the other good Treefolk (preferrably common, for limited), and even without them, it can be a 3/5 for 3 (or even 5/7 O___O).
Urzassedatives (nice name by the way, me likey)-- I hope by none too excited you mean reeally really excited. I like tribal as an idea from the flavor aspect, as different mages have used different types of Magic in the past (IE-- the different between Keldon fire magic and Bogardan fire magic) and now it can be shown through the cards. A treefolk casts treefolk magic, or magic made famous/created by the treefolk.
Can't wait to see some tribal enchantments and artifacts.
The card itself will probably be good in limited, seeing as we now confirm treefolk as a type. I don't think this is going to be Onslaught block II, it'll be more like what Ravnica was for Invasion-- a better take on the original idea.
This definitely means that either Green has more cards in the set (even if this is the FIRST green card, the other colors can only have 49 cards per color, which means if all colors are equal, there are massive 36 colorless cards that aren't basic land). Come on, with even 3 nonbasic land cycles, which we're unlikely to see, that's still 21 artifacts/multicolor (I'm counting from 301, with 302-306 as PWs), and that's MASSIVE for a set not based on artifacts/multicolor. Most sets have what, 10 artifacts? I think it's going to be 48 cards per color with 58 green cards, so 250 total colored cards based on this collector number. This leaves room for 31 cards, so maybe a few nonbasic land cycles and 5-10 multicolor cards and a few artifacts, depending on how many nonbasic lands we have.
Everyone who knows how a rumor season goes knows (zomg rhyme) we get a "promo common" that is given out for free at each release tourney. It's always a solid draft card...Sprout Swarm, Errant Ephemeron, Blind Hunter, Gobhobbler Rats, and Dead/Gone are all recent examples.
This card will be flat out awesome in Limited. No, it won't be good in Constructed. but you should have expected so.
That's pretty sexy for a 2G common. And that's not counting what we can do with it in Casual just from the Time Spiral block. (Verdy and friends)
I'm willing to place a bet that a number of the "basic" Limited spells will be Tribal-themed; in this case, I wouldn't be surprised if the land fetcher was a Tribal Treefolk spell, or the Creeping Mold variant.

Uhm, I thought lands weren't spells and you don't play them.
Shouldn't it be worded: Whenever a Forest comes into play under your control, blablabla
But I like this, especcialy at common: T2 play this with llanowar elf, turn 3 play forest and another one and attack with a 5/7
Edit: Nevermind;
212.6a A player may play a land card from his or her hand only during a main phase of his or her turn, and only when he or she has priority and the stack is empty. A land card isn’t a spell card, and at no time is it a spell. When a player plays a land card, it’s simply put into play. The land card doesn’t go on the stack, so players can’t respond to it with instants or activated abilities.
I think the reason it says "treefolk spell" is so that a "Tribal Land-Treefolk Forest" would'nt give it +4/+4, but "Tribal Enchantment- Treefolk" or "Creature-Treefolk" can still give it +2/+2. Will there be a Treefolk forest, let me just say that I hope so.
I like this card. It's solid in limited and it fits right into a nice casual deck with Beacon of Creation, Baru, Vinelasher Kudzu, etc. It might be good enough to see play in Lorwyn Block Constructed.
If you play a land it becomes the standard treefolk size which pretty good for three mana. I'm betting that all tribal cards will be useful with or without the tribal aspect.

This might not hold true for all tribal cards, but it'll be better than Onslaught's "this card sucks ass without [insert type here]s!" cards. Ugh, I have so many useless Onslaught cards, I'm gonna end up making a Cardboard Carapace

Not too bad of a card for common. I personally don't much like cards though that require (or encourage) you to play certain other cards, I feel it takes away from what you can use and limits you. Part of why I hate arcane cards.

I WANT YOUR DEATH BARONS! Message me if you want to get rid of them!
We don't need any further confirmation really.
What is good though, is that this proves the 'possibly real cards' thread wrong without a doubt by the card number.
Also, it seems like Tribal spells will be showing up in the set, and I am none too excited about that.
