Hey guys, I dont post much here, I usually just see rumors here, but I came by info that oddly enough, I am actually the first one here to get wind of it. For the gold-tier events that are run at stores that wizards think promote magic well foil memory lapses are given out to participants. There is a store about an hour and a half from my home that is running one of those events and I got an email from them.
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.

Actually, it's for stores that spend a large amount of money with WOTC and that also run sanctioned events for Magic as well as other WOTC events (like D&D minis). They have Bronze, Silver, and Gold tier stores with different perks for each level (this event being the big Gold tier perk), plus the previous levels perks.
man i wish my local store would do something like this my local store has un sanctioned tournaments and is pretty lame. And I also would like to see just how shiny the new foil memory lapse is so somebody out there get a scan please with a cherry on top.
That said, the listing seems funky, considering Lorwyn won't be out yet so you aren't getting a box of the "new set" and last years were in October. But maybe? It's possible it's just listed wrong and supposed to be in October, meaning Gaming Paradise jumped the gun and posted the info early. That would make since considering Wizards gave it some fanfare last year.
I received a handout at my gamestore last weekend saying the event is Sept. 15, and the prize payout is 1 display box of Lorwyn for first place and a Magic duffle bag, top 8 receives a baseball cap, and top 16 receives a deckbox. Also, while supplies last, you get the Memory Lapse promo card. We were a little sketchy on whether you'd receive the display box of Lorwyn the day of the tournament, or if it's a voucher that you can redeem when Lorwyn is actually released.

actully my stre told me about that last week, i just didn't think it worth mentioning untill i had some cards to scan
There probably won't be scans for a while, considering how the promos aren't released until game day. Barring any sort of "early" release, I don't think we will catch a sneak peek at the promo until the day of the tourney.

The gamestore is All Fun & Games in Apex, NC.
I go to the same store, what a coincidence! According to the owner the Lorwyn booster box is something that WotC will mail you after release.
Also, just for clarification, the tournament is TPF Sealed deck.

Any chance this uses the awesome art that they had commisioned for the white memory lapse colorshift that got nixed from Planar Chaos?

I support WotC's goal of shaping Modern in favor of diversity.
I ran a thought experiment on my blog Modern in a Nuclear Wasteland
of an extreme case of banning 20 more cards to make sure they get everything, then scaling back where appropriate. WotC seems to be on a slowly build up approach. Both ways probably reach similar end points.
The post Gatecrash metagame is proving to be closer to the endpoint than I estimated, so its very possible that few (if any) more cards need to be banned.
I dont wanna bust the Bubble, But I am thinking that this is the OLD DCI Memory Lapse Promo....
THis is just my line of thinking. I play at a store in South NJ, Jester's Playhouse. They are a Gold Teir Store, so we get lots of the GOld Teir Tournaments. Now for some reason, Gold Teir Tournaments have always had OLD Promos as their prize cards. Powder Keg and things of that ilk... It is a bit lame I think for WoTC to "reward" stores that sell lots of product, with a Promo Card that has existed for a few years. I suppose it is a good way for some regular players to get their hands on some Judge Promos.
Anyway, I have no proof that this isnt a new Promo, but I wouldnt get my hopes up.
Please, accept that Magic costs money to play, and drop it. A playset of Baneslayers>playset of duals. New Jace>Force of Will. Etc... Not to mention, Legacy is so wide open, that it's easy to build a deck that can perform reasonably well without very many "money staples" at all.

Actually, the format is whatever the store wants. My store is doing Standard (2 drafts already scheduled for the week, don't want to have THREE in a week..;-). And you are correct, it seems WotC will be mailing the box when the set comes out.
You'll have to check your local store (tho gold tier stores are somewhat rare..less than 5 in all of Illinois).
It's possible for them to have printed another Memory Lapse promo (for whatever reason), as this is happened before. There are two promotional printings of Duress for example.
this makes me happy that I have a gold tier store in my hometown.
They were thinking of printing a white memory lapse in PC? o.o
Memory lapse is one of my favorite counters EVER... I wish they had gone ahead with it
Guys last years gold tier tournys gave away the old dci judge powder keg promo, so i am guessing that this will be the same thing. It will be the old memory lapse promo

Yep - they nixed it for balance reasons. Serendib Efreet was considered for black also, but met the same fate.
There was an article on the wizards site about it.
Scans or proof would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks IM
