This post serves two purposes. First, I'm rolling hp for my character here (I'm doing it on this post so I don't screw around with rolls on previous posts in this thread):
20+
Dice Roller6 D6s rolled with a +4 modifier
2 + 4
1 + 4
6 + 4
3 + 4
1 + 4
5 + 4
Edit: SUP! That's a solid 6 above average.
If anyone edits dice into this thread before this post, I will be quite angry...unless Alacar lets me keep these rolls anyway (9+7+10+9+9+7 = 51, incase said dice do get edited in).
Second is to update everyone on the status of my character:
I believe I'm now completely finished with the non-bio portions of my char. I still reserve the right to make random (minor) tweaks until the game starts, but for all intents and purposes, all I have left is the bio. Hopefully I'll be able to get that done in the next few days, but I've been really bad about that stuff lately, so I can't make any guarantees.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

Drat. I saw the message and turned my focus back to the board meeting I have to attend on Saturday. Well, I'm sure there will be some window to wrap up my character with...
I still have to write my char bio. I don't know if I'll have time for that tonight, but if I don't I'll try my best to get it done tomorrow. That's all I have left, so it shouldn't be too hard to get my guy finished on time.

@Amadi: I know almost nothing about Psionics, so I'm not going to look over your abilities, but some of those items look off.
The Tomes of Knowledge just don't seem right to me. I see where they're coming from in the PHB, but I still just have this feeling that those are undercosted for some reason (I could be wrong). More importantly, your hat is way undercosted. Hats are not the place for mental improvement stuff, headbands[/card] are the place for mental improvement. On top of that, it generally costs extra money to add an ability to an item. If I were costing that item, I'd cost it at 8,700 gp (but only 7,600 gp if you put it on a headband).
If you've checked with Alacar on your items then just ignore me, but otherwise you might want to run the prices past him.
The Tomes should be 400gp each, unless Amadi can point me to their specific entry--Tomes like that = bonus squared x 100gp.
As for the Hat--using the MIC's ability to combine magic attributes, the base price for the Hat of Disguise is 1800, so it's not a stretch for him to add +2 Intelligence. Headbands might be the norm, but it's negligible, since he can disguise himself with the hat.
Krash, you can only wear one item on your head--you can't wear a headband/circlet and a hat. Intelligence bonuses are normally granted on the head slot.
Also--Amadi, you can't use that wand--it's useless to anyone except the Paladin, because none of you are straight casters.
Finally--no matter what you do Amadi, you have no idea what a Sirrukh is. Wrong time and place, my friend.
I am well aware that you can only wear one item on your head. There's a difference between a headband and a hat though (flavorfully). According to the DMG (which I don't believe was rendered completely useless by the MIC), it actually matters which one you use.
Flavorfully, it doesn't matter--the MIC lets you stack bonuses like that. End of story. MIC trumps DMG in terms of magic items and how they work.
I do not allow books to be that cheap. A book is not the same thing as a Masterwork Tool in my book. A tool is an actual, physical object that helps you do the aforementioned skill--not just know more. There is only so much a book can tell you. That's why Tomes are like those that boost stats--you read them once, and then the bonus is permanent (and no, you can't stack bonuses like that)
Also, Amadi--how did a Kineticist get a hold of a discipline-specific power like Metamorphosis?
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

We need to get these issues resolved ASAP, folks--I wanna start by tomorrow, even if you don't have your bios completed. AoK's good, Krash is good, Sep is good, Yukora is good enough, Fajen.. I haven't seen anything from you, Amadi, you need to straighten yourself out with us.
Far as I'm concerned, we're just about ready to go, minus 2 characters. (4 is the minimum I'd need to start, though I prefer if you all started at the same time!)
Okay okay, i knew the books were a bit off, but i considered them as tools that i have to actually study for some time to gain the bonus. Like if i wanted to metamorph into some new form, i could do knowledge checks by studying them for ~1 hour to know of different creatures. But if it isn't okay that's fine by me.
I got hold of Metamorphosis by forgetting all my kineticist abilities and chancing into Egoist. Then i tried to do a bluff check in my charactersheet stating that i am still actually kineticist, but failed miserably.
Okay, Am i right when i say that i can just use Vigor to buff myself, then dismiss it, using the 5 temporary HPs as buffer, therefore efficiently healing myself. If so i can replace that wand with Dorje of Vigor.

If you use Vigor to gain the 5 HP, they still go away--temporary HP is just that, temporary. If you dismiss it, you dismiss the HP.
On tomes and skill bonuses: Like I said, a book can only contain so much information, and reading it twice isn't going to help if you're rolling the skill for a different effect.

I think he meant that they were more of reference books. There's no magic involved in them, and they're simply useful for finding things you may not have otherwise known or may have forgotten along the line.
I suspect the flavor intended is the same flavor as, say, a guide to edible plants when you're foraging for food in the woods (you can take that example in real life or not, as you please :p). You can read through the entire thing, but you may not remember it all and it's useful to carry with you as a reminder incase you forget exactly what something looks like.
