That was a pretty good cast, liked hearing from everyone. I especially liked that druid combo, I think it will be useless, but it is still really cool.
I have to admit, I dont like MTGO becuase I want cards I can see, and what if Y2K ever comes back, you are all f@#$ed.
So I was wondering what was the policy of previous winners winning again?
Well my fav online game would have to be playing with apprentice. The chaos mode on that thing was great and it was cool to see the game swing super fast depending on the chaos rolls.
My favorite online magic moment is when I discovered the endless joys of MTGcast!
Ok, I'm done sucking up.
Really, my favorite magic moment online was watching the live stream of Pro Tour Honololu, when Craig Jones drew the Lightning Helix to beat Olivier Ruel in the semifinals. When Randy Buehler started screaming like a madman, I started bursting out laughing.
I remember my dad looking at me like I was crazy and asking, "What in the world are you watching?".
but its a legendary WHITE bird that rfg's all BLACK things.. not so nice
if only it worked on teferi
sorry, that was really mean, and i apologize
please forgive my rude and heartless actions
I am sorry, I realized that the picture actually portrays the gavin/rocket fusion that occurs when the world gets into trouble. I wonder what animal Derek and Tom fuse with when they have to help gavin.
And dont worry, I am completely white, and from the South, where racist jokes are the norm, unless surrounded by non-white people.
My magic online experience started about a decade ago. Moved to a new apartment a year before and across that 6 foot space between buildings at the window opposite me was a new friend. Back in 1999 I started playing magic again and introduced my friend next door to it. Pretty soon we were playing consistently but there were times when we wanted to play a few games but didn't necessarily want to go next door for it. My brilliant idea was to play window-to-window(through trust and talking). Of course problems arose with cards we didn't know about, and 6 feet is far to see through screened windows, so I came up with our brilliant transport system. A line of string with a draw string bag attached to it connected our two windows to each other and allowed us to transport cards across the way to verify effects, power/toughness confirm combos etc. Our magic games were almost literally on (a) line! It sucks that I can't remember any particularly interesting stories. One of the things I can think of was when I was playing a confiscate-control deck and kept having to transport creatures back and forth(after a few games like that we decided to just set aside the cards that changed control). Or another funny repeated event was when trading, our binders had ALL our rares and at least 10 times did the bag or string break from the weight of our mighty rares.

Let me tell you, it isn't pretty.
Derek and Tom fusion isn't used very often, only when the world is really desperate.
Hello Tom and all,
I just got back from hospital with my wife and our first child, so no listening to the cast yet. But I will, that's a promise.
I'll just come back later to add some print screen -images from some of my best moments. But my best week (at least monetarily) was during Dissension release, when I won or split 11 3x Dis drafts in a row with 5-colour green decks filled with graft, fliers and every single guildmage I saw. It was one format where I just found the edge and kept my account afloat for nearly year and a half, before having to buy more tickets.
Too bad I have not really had time for Modo lately and the last version of III had real problems updating my opponents side of the screen. Free drafts were nice, but too much of a headache when I had to write everything my opponent played down and try to figure where in the board which creature was for blocking or targeting it. (still won one out of three I tried, but the delay for my opponents was not nice, when I tried to figure what I needed to do.)
Well there were several experimental lengths of string, and we were on the 2nd floor. During the days of the long string large weights would bang on the windows, mostly on purpose =P I think after a couple months though those magical mystical knots that seem impossible to even be made shortened the string.
edit: As to what the neighbors thought, I dunno. My parents told me I was a genius for even thinking of such a thing, and I'm sure my downstairs neighbors were at a loss as to what to think of some bag hanging in front of one of their windows.
well my favourite magic online moment started at school, where my maths teacher (bob) confiscated my paper boros deck for looking at it between lessons. he said that you shouldnt play card games as they are bad for your development.
One week later, I still havent recieved my cards back. So i started playing on magic online, and found it pretty cool. One afternoon after a hard fought game, my opponent and i started talking. I asked him what his job was and he said he was a maths teacher. Since his screen name was bobsomething, i thought, could it be?
and to my amazement, (and to his as well), it was indeed my maths teacher at school, playing magic online. I laughed my head off...what were the chances? Since then, he is very awkward around me, and he has given back my cards.
I still laugh my head off at that magic online moment
Great show guys, i usually dont participate much in the forums, i lurk around more than post, but i just had a great MWS moment so i thought i would share it. My memory is horrible so i can never recall something it takes too long..
I was playing with this Gb elves build i made, which is a pretty competitive deck might I add, and i had just made some minor changes i was eager to try out. I search for a game, find it in 2 seconds as usual, and start playing a guy with a sliver deck.
I think to myself, hey i never see these anymore.. This guy must have missed out the whole lorwin block or something.. And he starts off, sidewinder go, turn 2 sidewinder, sidewinder. turn 3 sinew.. Now it doesnt matter HOW big i make my elves, flanking obliterates them, making me very unhappy.
game 2 i side in some creature hate. Play him again. Same thing minus a sidewinder and + another sinew. >_>
ok i cant take losing against an outdated deck so i ask for a rematch. AGAIN the victory goes to sidewinders and.. a flanking chameleon colossus that tapped himself for land to double his blocking power.. ;_;
i give up make a GW sliver deck and go beat people online with it. I got yelled at for entering games labelled "competitive" several times and called a noob -_- even tho i only lost 1 match..
the slivers mock me even when i win..
