I had a terrible housemate.
He plays Xbox live all the time:
The first month I move in, he broke my $300 Doom statue, and slashed a painting and said it was an accident. I believed him.
He did lines of Coke in the living room, twice.
When he came back for the weekend , he demolished the painting he had earlier slashed. Just for fun, while I was a Saturday draft. I just found out now, since my other housemate did not want to tell me. He is already on a plane back to California where he now lives. He left nothing of his own behind. I will probably never see him again.
We all were getting our PhD's in physics together. I was living the the on campus dorm, which was basically a jail cell(the room was tiny, and the window was like a mid evil arrow slit)
Him and some other people needed a 4th for this house. I had played poker with him and the other guys once or twice. I did not really like them, but the house was nice.
He started getting worst as soon as I moved in. He started talking back to his adviser and ended up basically getting himself discarded from the program. He was good at quantum physics, but was just a real *******.
Alright, I moved it, but what sort of advice are you looking for here? If you're not going to see him again, there's not much sense in trying to offer ways to deal with him. Other than that, just use better judgment when cohabiting.
Speaking of better judgment, I'm not too keen on posting people's email addresses and links to profiles elsewhere if they aren't members here or know you're doing it. So that I'm going to remove from your post to ere on the side of caution. It's not against the rules, but I just don't see anything good coming of it.
I am just mad.... I really just found out like 30 minutes ago that he destroyed the painting.....
Okay, but we're still not going to give the forum the email addresses of people outside the forums.
And I get that you're angry, I'm just unsure what this thread can accomplish for you. This is a place to go for help and advice, not just to vent. So maybe it would help if you gave an indication of what you need advice for, or at least an indication that you're looking for help at all.
Rule #1: If you don't know your roommates well, if you have any reason not to trust them, if you ever see them doing drugs or even getting really drunk a couple times... LOCK YOUR ****ING DOOR. It's really easy. Every time you leave, lock it. And this is why. It probably could have been worse, I know of people who have had their rooms trashed by people looking for drugs or money for drugs, bottles of booze stolen and downed in a night, lots of things. It's just common sense.

Yeah the drugs where AFTER the doom statue happened. Also the painting was in the common area. The other guys in the house are cool, it was just him.
