No suggestions, but... ouch! Call that a Blowfly Infestation deck? Not only does it not even run it as a 4-of, but it barely gets any use out of it outside the infinite combo.
Sad now.
You are 100% right AND playtesting revealed that the BG version basically couldn't beat a pre-con, so here is BR v2 (currently trying to find some last minute Dusk Urchins and Everlasting Torments):
My stomach dropped as I opened my tourney pack, the only real thing I had was a Reflecting Pool to redeem for a rebate. Then the Eventide started to roll in with some heat.
I had only 3 spells that needed red mana but I wanted to reliably cast those spells so I threw in 5 mountains. I didn’t have any problems with them except for one unofficial game.
I was uncertain about the Nip Gwyllions, but wanted to run both the Edge of Divinitys, so I put them in. One guy conceded on turn 3, it went like this:
Turn 1: Nip, Turn 2: Edge on Nip and Duergar Assailant, Turn 3: Spectral Progression, concede.
Most of the time the Edges were just Holy Strengths, once the mimic got it flying in for 7!
The Figure of Destiny was awesome in every game, although he was always on top of the hit list. Almost made it to 8/8 three times, but it hurt my tempo every time he got popped. He’s great at 4/4.
I went 2-1-1, losing my first match partially because I misread my opponents Cinder Pyromancer thinking it could target creatures (he had a solid deck also). . I finally figured it out in the middle of match 3. LOL!!! The other games were all a breeze. The last match we played for fun to split the packs 4-2, I smashed on him, one game getting a 3 for 1 with Fire at Will. I usually draw the final match to split the packs, although with this deck I wasn’t going to ask. I didn’t want to be a prick like this guy at my first pre-release who didn’t want to split; I ended up walking away with all 6 packs.
here is BR v2 (currently trying to find some last minute Dusk Urchins and Everlasting Torments)
Hurrah! Happy now!

Gavin on the mothership! Wonders will never cease. I like that you took over the article with a torrent of words by the end
My prerelease was a great experience, as they all have been, I'm really going to miss them Launch parties have never really gotten my motor running, so I doubt a pre-launch party is gonna do any better. Talking to the tournament organizer, he says he's not going to run anymore as wizards is not only cutting prize support but requiring up-front payment for product, and not taking returns on any boxes opened - which cuts his profit margin into the negatives, after venue hire and such is taken care of. It's a real shame.
2nd flight was 2 headed giant and my colleague and I once again had great decks, I got greedy and squeezed Unmake and 2 Fire at Will into a deck featuring no plains, but it paid off. First game was an absolute nightmare against a rules lawyer and his embarrassed buddy, who spent about 20 minutes each turn deciding which of us should remove a card from our graveyard. Said rules lawyer then tried to tap our blocker to remove it from combat and even CALLED THE TO over to ask if he could. When told he was an idiot he sulked "You could in the old rules," to the mirth of the crowd which had assembled as we'd nearly gone to time. After an hour of triggers and priority and general dicking about they beat us to death with a 10 power unblockable shroud guy. Funny that.
After that nightmare was over we proceeded to win the next 3 rounds without taking a single point of damage. Voracious Hatchling went the whole way in one game, taking us to 58 life and them to 0. Even though they were such one sided games we had fun chatting and joking with our opponents, and because of the decreased prize support everyone got the same number of packs, so everyone went home happy
In summary! Good: Gavin on mothership, big prereleases, Mirrorweave
Bad: Wizards cutting big prereleases, rules lawyers (especially ones who don't know the rules)
Oh, since I've already carried on for so long I may as well continue: I want to turn my sealed mirrorgoat deck into a constructed deck! I'm busily trading for Mirrorweaves, Springjack Pastures and I have the Shepherds, but what should I be looking to copy? Nobilis of War seems like a good target, or Windbrisk Raptor. Any other suggestions? I'd like a lot of W symbols for Chroma, and either really huge dudes or pump effects.

I imagine Maro has a huge ancient book in his office titled "Tempo Defined" and inside it is hollowed out and there is a bottle of whiskey
Oh come on Gavin, first mention in Flores' article and then BDM with "Getting to know Gavin Verhey".
The pressure is so high you'll have to win PT: Berlin now.
Way to go!

There's no penalty for failing to sacrifice a Homonculus.
good job getting an article completely devoted to yourself gavin, should give everyone a new google target
Our prerelease sucked this year, they moved it to downtown atlanta (GAHHHH), and I did not get any sleep the night before. my bombs consisted of a 7/7 trample wurm, thats how bad my packs were. got the firelit thicket, reflecting pool, overbeing of myth (I always pull the prerelease card for somereason), rise of the hobgoblins, and 2 other peices of crap. i still managed to go 2-2 with it but and win 2 packs ( one of which had the b/g filter land)
Happy- that I made my money back in the rares I got.
Sad- the lands gave me a consistent manabase, but I had no bombs which lead to my defeat at the hands of a 6-8 year old girl. I am heartily ashamed. (she did however have a pretty rediculous red deck.
Best card in eventide- snakeform, anything that gives green remove/combat trick/card draw is the best thing in my book.
I missed out on Prerelease attending a camp 'n such (but it was fun and I spent time with friends...'twas worth it... maybe...kinda <_<), but my friend came 4th, that's good right?
Anyways...seeing as I have no experiences to draw on: my favorite card from Eventide would have to be Unmake.
It says no to anything that's a creature, by running playsets in nearly every control deck that can, I use it as my protest against the aggro saturated environment (Heck, I just gave up Teachings for Block Faeries :\) (but again, that whinge-fest is best left for another day.)
But yeah...Hallowed Burial gets an honorable mention as being a budget Wrath effect.
hey tom, derek and gavin. I first wanted to congratulate not only wining the ptq but also getting a whole article on magicthegathering.com specifically about yourself.
1 torture
1 snakeform (aka u attack with still moon cavalier, i cast snakeform
on it and block and it dies) (my only removal spell against it)
1 monstrify
1 unmake
1 recumbent bliss
1 soul reap
1incremental blight
so i went 3-0-1
and i really should have fgone 2-1-1 but because of a simple miscount i won the game.
so i am playing against my round 4 opponent who is playing blue and white. I destroy him first game because he doesnt have his second color out. Game 2 i couldnt find my snake form to get rid of the moon cavalier and i couldnt race it. Game 3 was probably the luckiest game i have ever played. I start out with the green white creatures and turn 4 i get my liege out. so as i am attacking him he gets 3 guys out and i have about 7. i am at 20 and i say wut the heck h ecant possibly beat me this turn with just 3 dudes, so i swing with everyone one just leaving 1 guy back ( i believe i just cast the guy ) he takes the damage and goes to some low number. The next turn he uses one of his guys abilities( the one that can tap a dude and if u play a white spell u can untap this guy) taps my only guy. He then plays mirror weave targeting my liege and untaps the guy. so now i am facing down 3 8/8 wilt leaf lieges and he swings:o. Now heres were your like wow he just beat you man. But he somehow miscounted and i didnt count to make sure. he was like its not enough damage and scoops.
Now there might have been a chance tnhat i still had a blocker but i didnt think so .
so theres my pre release story. The show is great. I listen to it every time theres a new one and a question for gavin, "have you ever played a deck that was rogue or an underdog to the format at the time and placed in the top 8 or close to it?"
I'd have killed myself eager to tell everyone I got interviewed for MtG.com
Um, he mentioned that the article was possibly going to happen in episode #111...and Brian David-Marshall also mentioned it in his article before last:
Quote from "Brian David-Marshall, July 11" »
I am always excited to see players I know and like do well but I was even more pleased than usual when I saw that Gavin Verhey had earned a blue envelope to Berlin this past weekend. Gavin is a tremendous community advocate, a producer of top-notch Magic content with his Magic podcast, and an up-and-coming player who will finally get his shot at the Pro Tour this fall. You can check out the deck lists here and be sure to tune in next week for an in-depth interview with this Northwest PTQ stalwart.
I'm not saying Gavin was bragging about the interview but it wasn't exactly a secret....
Any way, I was checking the forum to see if there was anything update from Derek or Tom regarding the PTQ. I guess I'll have to wait until the next cast....

First flight I opened Mirrorgoat.dec, including 2 Sprinjack Shepherds, Mirrorweave, Nobilis of War, Augury Adept, and Figure of Destiny. Good times. Timmiest plays of the morning were Mirrorweave on Belligerent Hatchling on turn 6 with 6 dudes in play on my side of the board; and 8 Augury Adepts swinging across the board.
2nd flight was 2 headed giant and my colleague and I once again had great decks, I got greedy and squeezed Unmake and 2 Fire at Will into a deck featuring no plains, but it paid off. so heres my eventide pre release story:
first the deck
1 twilight mire
