The Slayers D20 is a supplement to the 3.5 rules, so if it's not covered in the slayers book, use the 3.5 rules.
Here are my rulings on the magic conumdrums:
-If you're in a class that does not specify it can spellcast, you can't spellcast unless you have ranks in a class that would allow casting.
-Lore of magical power set to shamanism will help you cast common AND shaman spells, PROVIDED you could cast shamanist spells anyway. (meaning as a pure loremaster, you would first have to have taken lore of spells and lore of advanced casting (shamanism)
Being a noble does not justify giving you leeway on your money. However, if you have 4 ranks in noble I'll let you use Line of Credit.

Danica is a major bookworm. Learning to read at a very young age, she became a librarian because of her passion for books. She almost has a weakness for them, but anyone who thinks she's a pushover feels her magical wrath--reading so much has sparked her innate magical talents, and further study has enabled her to be possibly the most lethal librarian in the realm. Don't speak too loud, and don't even think about keeping a book overdue.
She's a generally quiet girl, keeping to herself for the most part, content to dig her nose in a book, but she's got a good heart, and she's prettier than she thinks.
Eddy: there aren't really many deities, I'll try to run down the big ones that would matter.
-The Fire and Water Dragon Lords are seen as deities to many people outside the Mazkou Barrier, even if they aren't actual gods, they're usually seen as lawful good, with some leanings toward neutral.
-The Mazkou don't really have a god, per se, as much as they have an overlord in Shabrinigdo, the demon king who was (supposedly?) slain in the War of the Gods and Monsters. he's as close to an evil god as they have. Neutral evil, leaning towards lawful.
-The Lord of Nightmares (sometimes referred to as L-sama) is the big wheel as far as divine beings go in the Slayers Universe. She created the universe, and has the final say on whether any magical abilities work or not. Purely chaotic neutral, she doesn't care what happens as long as it's fun to watch.

1) A level adjustment means that your character has X less class levels. A half-demon has a level adjustment of 2, which means that in your 5 levels, two are already accounted for. This means that you can only have 3 levels of wizard if you're sticking to half-demon
2) Spell focus does not work the way you do - it increases the DC other people must hit to resist the effects
3) A wizard's magical blood only affects common spells, not shamanist ones.
To increase a wizard's fortitude, I can recommend the feats loyal, code and spell mastery. Two levels of loremaster could give +5 to a spell school through Lore of Magical Power, but you can only take it to common, unless you take it after you have access to advanced magic.
A talisman giving +1 to a spell school would only cost 1000 gold
A cloak of resistance is cheap too. +1 for 1000 gold, +2 for 4000 and +3 for 9000
An item that gives +2 to constitution, and thus +1 fortitude save, costs 4000 gold
Two levels of priest will give your charisma modifier to all saves, which can be another 4 if you have 18 charisma. And then you can get a +2 item for 4000 gold for another point.
Human: Wizard 3/Priest 2
Magical Blood, Great Fortitude, Loyal, Code
Talisman of Common Spells +1
Cloak of Resistance +3
Amulet of Health +2
Cloak of Charisma +2 (you'd have it in the same item as the resistance cloak)
Max con and cha. Total fortitude save of: 26 for common spells, 25 for others.
This build would lose two caster levels, but for +5 to all saves, it would be worth it IMO
You can, but it does not increase your fortitude save to cast spells. You know when spells have a line that says "Reflex half" or something similar? That means (in Slayers d20, at least), that to resist it, the opponent has to roll his reflex save against 10+DC to cast/5+relevant modifier (cha for white, con for common, int for sorcery, wis for shamanism)
Spell focus merely increases the number the opponent has to roll against by 2, and greater spell focus by another two.
