Man, we better hope the Cowboys are doin well tonight... Being a Giants fan, this is against my religion, but I'm loving these spoilers, and somethin' tells me this rumor god is a 'boys fan.
The ranger is sick if it supplies a constant FOG effect. With a little countermagic/control, he can easily set tempo of the game if he's templated the way we're thinking.
If the Ranger has a fog effect when you sac a creature, maybe the EVE card is Endless Horizons...makes sure you don't run out of gas and can play a creature every turn to fog. How does that help you win? No clue...but it's a thought
Sounds like someone was bouncing around in the Orb and thought they were funny. Honestly, when was the last time they reprinted something in the block right after not including a core set? 11th Edition I could see O-Ring... but just that alone screams fake...
With Tempest, a lot of its cards were printed in Invasion or Odyssey...
But reprints like that shouldn't be too much of a surprise. It's been two blocks since we've seen Cancel; even that got reprinted in Tenth edition, which came out in between Time Spiral and Lorwyn.
Although O-Ring is a little bit of a surprise...but I guess we can expect that to be a relatively common staple now, despite the really bad pun that just unveilled itself just now.

Be patient.... I can't spoil more until MNF is over.... but don't cry I will give you a "BIG ULTIMATUM".... don't feel TEARY, DARK, or ANGRY..... because I'll kill your favorite CREATURE,...... break 3 fingers off on your HAND, and punch u 5 times in the FACE........ and to make matters worse...... I'll do the exact opposite to myself.... Hallaluh...Riddler...
Little Birdies are so charming..... yes the lack the real charm I look for in both Grixis and Esper..... let me read this encoded message...
Grixes... likes Boomerang/SuddenDeath(minus the SS)/and tromp the domain if you only have basic lands in play minus trample.
Esper ... prefers.... consult the necromages (Both sides) and Ray of revelation minus the flashback.
That's what the stepchild's cousin's uncle's baby's daddy, wrote on a scribbled up post card from seattle. Interesting..... and don't forget the first thing I mentioned on the Ultimatum card for the possible "First" big thing it does..... the other two... sound about right....

So Destroy target land and target creature, opponent discards 5 and loses 5 life, you draw 5 and gain 5 life?
And is there a zombify in there too? And what does ANGRY mean? Haste?
This is so ridiculously much better than the "destroy 3 permanents" ultimatum.

no, he was hinting at teary = blue, dark = black and angry = red.
assuming its the black ultimium, some assume its destroy, and resurect a creature, opponent loses five and you gain five, then opponent discards three you draw three. except worded right, more like above.
also, sacrifices got 2 hits on the orb, so it may be 'choose a creature, that creatures controller sacrifices it' id like something like that in this set.

I don't mind seeing Oblivion Ring getting reprinted. It's a solid card.
Cancel, on the other hand, is just sad. The card is absolutely terrible. It hasn't seen any serious play since it was created. People would rather run no counterspell than run Cancel. Yet, they continue to print it.
Jcsuperstar, I'm betting the Teary/Dark/Angry bit is simply code for the colors (Blue, Black, Red)
As many others have posted, the effect is probably something like
Crippling Ultimatum UUBBBRR
Destroy target creature. That creature's controller loses 5 life and discards three cards.
Return target creature from your graveyard to play. Gain 5 life and draw three cards.
Edit: Looks like everyone else made the same correction.
i don't really know what the past extended ptq was, but im sure it wasn't a meta prepared for this
most of the time, if storm is out there to dominate,i thinl people will be prepared for it.
if you're gonna be using life as a leverage to win, people will be looking out for that to drain your life.
of course, it sucks for white that their removal is slow sorcery speed, but can't have naturalize and disenchant in any other format than the eternals, i guess
don't get me wrong, if you are playing angel's grace, this and heartbeat, i'm sure it'll be a wonderful deck
but there are a couple of answers out there
and with the number of more versatile tools out there (multi color wise) im sure more multi color deck will come out, sporting some form of answer to a deck if it becomes that degenerate (which is really what i was worried about because the combo had the word storm in it)
Yeah Cancel irks me, i was happy with all the panoramas even though they were an aweful lot like terramorphic expanse... but cancel... why!? sure maybe its the "par" for counterspells right now but it is jsut so... lame.... seriously, nobody runs cancel.
So, since so far nobody has pointed it out, as far as I can tell, Zesty and Little Birdy (by the way thanks for the spoilers guys! much appreciated)
have also confirmed Orei's posts from yesterday about the Jund Ultimatum and the charms (with, apparently, one correction, that the bant charm only counters instants unlike previously posted).... funny like as usual plenty of people called fake but actually those cards were correct....
anyways, so barring other corrections the Esper charm will be
Destroy target enchantment
Draw Two cards
Targt opponent discards two cards....
---and at instant speed, me likes!---
Grixis
Return target permanent to it's owners hand
Target creature gets -4/-4
Creatures you control get +2/+0 until end of turn
the others have already been confirmed... and his Jund ultimatum was also correct, destroy three target permanents
overall interesting set for sure.... but if they had to reprint a UU1 counter they should have reprinted Hinder from Kamigawa imo, much better for the same cost

To all those complaining about the reprints, please remember the needs of block and limited. T2 isn't the only format in existence. Mountaineer is kind of bleh but the other cards are very solid limited and block cards.
Well, block and limited. Ok. But Wizards cant make new counterspells for block and limited ? Their creativity were so lacked to reprint cancel instead create new cards ? ?
No Logic

if they create a new counterspell, it will always be measured against cancel.
if it's a little better, people will be calling for it to replace cancel in core
if its worse, people will say "why didn't they just reprint cancel"?

People hiss and grunt at Mark Rosewater for the state of the game. Few realize, though, that it is Aaron Forsythe who is directly responsible of the current state of affairs due to negligence as head of Magic R&D and a completely skewed view of the game as a whole.
So next time you want to make an avvy with Rosewater pissing on something, take a deep breath and consider pasting Forsythe's face there instead...

Thanks to spiderboy4 for the great avatar and sig from High Light Studios!
I'm going to hold off judgement of the set until we see all of the set, but the reprints of Naturalize and Cancel do disapoint me abit.
Yeah there is a naturalize variant in every block. Couldn't they have reprinted one of the others? Molder or Mystical Melting (perhaps a variant that lets you draw right away instead of next turn's upkeep). Perhaps they could have printed a sorcery one that had some sort of upswing to it (like giving you back some mana or lifegain?
And cancel? Come on, when I looked up "Counter target spell" blue instants in gatherer, I got 80 different cards. Yeah alot of them had block stuff on them but more than a few of them could be reprinted.
Those two cards strike me a lazy. But then again from what I read in this thread, if it turns out that Naya and Esper don't have mechanics of their own, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that some of blue's and green's cards basically got phoned in.
So anybody mind telling me what happens if the creature about to be destroyed somehow gets removed from play before this... thing... resolves? I was trying to figure it out myself but then my head kinda exploded...:-/
It still has 2 other target checks. (player and creature card in a gy.) Unless all the targets are removed, the spell will not be countered.
The Esper Ultimatium seems like crap compared to the other ones (other ones win you the game, Esper doesn't.)
So anybody mind telling me what happens if the creature about to be destroyed somehow gets removed from play before this... thing... resolves? I was trying to figure it out myself but then my head kinda exploded...:-/
thats why im saying CHOOSE, because it would suck to have your BIGG, FLASHY spell, that does LOTS to just mess up because of this. (the choose would be chosen upon resolution, where targetting doesnt.
maybe thats why bant has all the instant countering too- wizards wanted to show, that around there ultimate spells are, in fact, ultimate spells.

It actually has two targets. Also compared to other benchmark cards that thing is just too good. It's gotta say you get to pick some of the abilities (either all 3 bad ones for opponent or all 3 good ones for you, or one of the three "they lose you gain" scenarios).
O-Ring printed within the past year, and Naturalize and Cancel printed just over a year ago, and legal for another to come. Its not like they are going to stop printing Naturalize, or Cancel in core sets. So what are they doing being confirmed for Alara?!
the Goblin, thats cool. hasnt seen print for a while, and infest i am a fan of. so thats cool too. But the other three bring up 3 letters for me:WTF?
Every new keyword is "this didn't need to be keyworded!"
then, when they decide not to keyword its "they didn't even give Naya or Esper a keyword, they are phoning it in!"
