The idea here is to Swirl everything to Blue. At which point your creatures become... quite good!

The idea is to make everything say red and then go nuts. Painter's Servent makes the whole thing tick. Also lets your Blasts destroy lands. I added Helix Pinnacle as a random way to win in case the deck gets stuck in a rut somehow.
Idea is to take advantage of the colors your opponent is playing (Peek helps to get a head start) and stop everything they do via Painters Servant + Douse, Hydroblast and Blue Elemental Blast. Then make them pay with Painters Servant + Chaotic Backlash and Beasts of Bogarden. Sleight of Mind replaces Swirl the Mists until you get it going. I use to run a douse / whims deck back when...
The ideal draw with this would be..
Turn 1 Peek
Turn 2 Painter's Servant
Turn 3 Douse
Turn 4 Blowup, counter
Turn 5 counter, counter, Blowup
Turn 6 Beasts, counter
Turn 7 havin' a good time!!
Loved the show as always. Was hoping Gavin would talk about a few in-depth games and play decisions he made. I am a supporter and player of Death Cloud and was behind Gavin all the way. Gratz bro.
for those of us who have played it, i really hope the new MTGMMO ends up being like the gamecube game lost kingdoms, where it was a real time card game RPG. you payed mana you collected to use the spells, and the spells each corresponded to a different button on the controler. there were cards that summoned creatures, attacked in different directions, and altered the deck, and gained health. it was alot of fun and i was surprised it never caught on.
Eric did a GREAT job! he enuciated himself well, and added a nice commentary. Congrats Gavin. it's always fun to hear of you, tom, and the others on the 'cast doing well.
keep up the good work, fellas.

Thanks, Heroes of The Planes! You guys are great!
Actual Truth:
"You heard it here folks:
Anyone who disagrees with "Jack from NC" is an idiot."-The Dead Weatherman
pokerbob1, I don't think you read the card correctly. It makes your Red Elemental Blasts say the colour you chose, but it doesn't change the colours of the cards your opponents cast.
That is kind of what Blind Seer is for, but Painter's Servent just works better.

I am looking for Date Stamped promos from Khans of Tarkir block so I can finish my set. Check my wants if you have any.
Currently offering 2 non-foil Kolighan's Command for a Date Stamped foil!
Welcome back and congratulations Gavin! I like the shows at around an hour long, its enough time to fit in all the content but doesn't feel like it drags. Welcome also to Eric, who was a bit quiet but a good addition to the podcast when he had something to say Tom, are you trialling replacements for Derek?
I'll be back with a deck if I remember before next week. Thanks for the cast guys, it makes the slow hours at work pass so much faster.

I imagine Maro has a huge ancient book in his office titled "Tempo Defined" and inside it is hollowed out and there is a bottle of whiskey
Great show guys! I vote for a longer show. But the idea of themes for certain weeks of the month I also like (maybe just for a tiny segment in the show, because right now I like all the segments). Perhaps one week could be tribal week, one would could be spike week where Gavin talks about the meta in the current tourney format, then one week could be limited week, ect. I also miss the combo of the week :-P.
Here's a couple in case you need some for next show:
Good show, guys; although I do love the longer shows.
A fun activity that my friend and I came up with is to name all the reasons why Progenitus can't be blocked! For example:
"Block Progenitus with my Darksteel Colossus."
"You can't"
"Why?"
"He has protection from artifacts. And creatures. And artifact creatures. And Golems. And converted mana costs of 11. And creatures with power greater than 5. And permanents that are Indestructable. And all cards from the Darksteel expansion."
Try it out, it's fun.
(This is Pete from Cleveland, BTW. Can't wait for next week's show!)
"He has protection from artifacts. And creatures. And artifact creatures. And Golems. And converted mana costs of 11. And creatures with power greater than 5. And permanents that are Indestructable. And all cards from the Darksteel expansion."
Ah, but does he?
Consider Cephalid Snitch... it can't target Progenitus of course, but if it could it's not entirely clear that Protection from Black is there to be lost! It seems more likely that "everything" is a single category of things from which Progenitus is protected.

I'm an idiot. I just realized the combo wouldn't work because of the whole, "returns from the graveyard" thing. Here's a new, slightly less idiotic list (hopefully):
This deck uses conflux to fetch up a bunch of creatures and play them for free first turn. It's possible to win your first turn if you can cast Dragon Breath and Fatal Frenzy on Doomgape or Denizen of the Deep. Progenisus is in their because, well, it's awsome! Not exactly a Progenisus deck, but still a good one, I think. And again, I'm sorry for the other deck, I'm embarrassed that I even submitted it.

since i'm in a combo-y mood (who am i kidding, I'm always in a combo-y mood) here are some conflux combos to sate your johnny appetite! I will leave their explanation as an exercise for the reader
Sigil of the Empty Throne Auratog Brilliant Halo
Your huge Auratog might shrink at the end of turn, but your army of 4/4 fliers is there to stay!
Mark of Asylum Aether Flash
Your opponent's small guys die when they hit play, while yours survive.
Wall of Reverence Merfolk Thaumaturgist
Makes Wall of Reverence worthwhile targeting itself
Kederekt Parasite Forced Fruition
They are really pushing one drops in the last few sets, this card reminds me of Disciple of the Vault which is a bit of a worry!
Consider Cephalid Snitch... it can't target Progenitus of course, but if it could it's not entirely clear that Protection from Black is there to be lost! It seems more likely that "everything" is a single category of things from which Progenitus is protected.
well, if he doesn't have protection from those things, then Darksteel Colossus can block him.
I get what you are saying, but I would like to think of "everything" as composed of things that permanents can have protection from (like goblins, instants, or green), rather than just "everything" in a general sense.
I would like to think that Progenitus would lose Protection from Black, since that is a part of 'Everything,' although he would have some other protection to stop whatever the spell was (pro sorceries, protection from Horrors)
Everything is just that. Each and every individual thing, all put together! Yeah!
Oh my! Progenitus just lost Prot. from Black!
Good thing he still has protection from creatures, artifacts, players, plainswalkers, third-world dictators, serial killers, cops, politicians, and Starbucks...

how about Natural Order + ??? i do beleve that would be alot meaner, because progenitus if discarded goes back into your library
Edit- in my haste to reply about a cool combo i thought of, i forgot to mention that i honestly don't worry about which format you guy pick long or short, as long as you keep the good shows a coming. my only suggestion is that if you do go to a short show it should only be during the spoiler season of new sets, because that is the only time that the shows really good unwieldy long. maybe have a show that does nothing but the spoiler season?
the idea of the deck is to swirl to blue, then every spell you play is turned on by the deck aside from dream stalker. Balefire leige is now a lightning helix ontop of every spell aside from teysa, dire undercurrents turns every blue creature spell into a draw+discard spell, momir vig lets you search your library for any creature and put it into your hand, crackelburr lets you burn and bounce as long as you have the mana because it requires blue and blue creatures to tap and untap. circu is just a fun card that makes it so every blue spell lets you mill 2 and possibly develop a future counter. Grand arbiter augustin makes all the non teysa spells you play cost 2 less and your opponants 1 more. dream stalker is there so you can play it and bounce it with its own ability. that lets you play as many blue creature spells as you want a turn to trigger all your color triggered abilities. with fable of wolf and owl allows you to keep putting creatures into play and causes dire undercurrents to trigger multiple times on each spell. teysa is just an overall control card that even though it doesnt trigger the abilities, it lets you sac 3 (blue) creatures to remove a creature from the game, then put a (blue) 1/1 spirit token into play for each creature that died. allowing you to wrath your opponants board at will.balefire leige is the overall win condition.
im too lazy to calculate the power of an attacking progenitus, even though it would be less than the squire because it cant be equipped or enchanted, so im just going to say its a 1/1 because i triggered the mosstroll bridge after the attack to put godhead of awe into play after exalted resolved.

It isn't at all surprizing that Gavin played Faeries.
As for this week, it was a great podcast as usual. The guest cohost was a little quiet...maybe his volume was off or he didn't talk enough.
4x Wrath of Marit Lage
4x Helix Pinnacle
4x Llawan, Cephalid Empress
4x Painter's Servent
4x Suq'Ata Firewalker
4x Hydroblast

12x Island
The idea is to make everything say red and then go nuts. Painter's Servent makes the whole thing tick. Also lets your Blasts destroy lands. I added Helix Pinnacle as a random way to win in case the deck gets stuck in a rut somehow.
