Thefourhorsemen: i love your work the last gasp looks awesome it made me wish you did one with Mumm-Ra from thundercats. anyways about the duals that you commissioned that were posted a couple pages ago i really like them however i thought the text boxes were kinda a big sore thumb to the picture. personally i always like a little taken out of the box from something being added by the artist. but since it was a commission i dont know what the customers specifics were.
NDzoo: i really like the terminate i love alters that are just fun like that. something i saw was the robat part of the face seems significantly lrger then the human half.
@ CK: Something about that's a little... gross. I don't know.
Here's a few new ones. I haven't gotten any commissions lately, but still had the itch so I did some work this weekend. The first two are for my EDH deck. I realize that sounds wrong but I wanted to try two takes on it. I'll probably keep one and trade or sell the other. I did the next two because I've had "more Pokemon" on my list of alters to do, and the ones posted here recently spurred me on. These are also up for grabs.
Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.
@ Bristol- Dig your work, i would keep the first DotV and sell the other. I like that abra brainstorm, good placement with abra on top of the original.
@ Klug- That is a NICE imperial seal, although im unsure of the stamp on the paper matching with the actual stamp. Your name around the stamp is a nice touch as well. Good job.

It does. I looked at it,and it's mirrored the right way and everything. Excellent job on that one, Klug. The only (and I mean very fiddly) complaint I have is that due to perspective, the actual seal looks too big to have made that stamp on the paper... it almost looks as big as half the paper. But that's just a perspective thing, and overall the piece is absolutely top notch. Congrats on having the courage to alter that one.
Wow that imperial seal is one of the nicest alters ive ever seen. It took me a minute looking at the stamper to realize that stamp on the paper was the same. Is that card going on ebay or was it comission?
The artwork is really nice on the Imperial Seal, but I'm not sure the life totals should be like that. It's kind of confusing since "Me" will actually be going down to 18 after playing the spell. Maybe if you had "Me" going from 20 to 18 and "Opp." going straight from 20 to 0 it would make more sense. Hmm... hard to say.
Either way, great job there.

Nah, it works, the opponent fetches and forces, putting them at 18, and you still combo them out.
Klug, may I be the bad guy and point out something that takes away from the alter for me?
Well yes or no, the inner frame. It feels like it needs a warmer grey, and more definition.
When I first saw it I thought it was solid blue-grey. Needs defined light/dark sides.
It's a simple thing, but I feel like that kind of stuff is really important.
The extension is VERY nice, though. I hate working with reds, oranges, and yellows, but you've got em down.
And the black bordering gets an 8/10 as well! Not perfect, but better than most people do.

Two more alters, the Kismet was orignally for me, but I decided to see if anyone else wanted it.

Spot on crit yawg. Of course say something if you see something wrong. I had a lot of trouble with taping off with this card. The P3K card just seemed to have a different surface. I also hate working with red, yellow, orange. All those colors end up translucent and the alterations tend to be thicker because the amount of paint you have to put on the card. I even have problems using a base coat. Shrug - I'll probably look into touching up when I get home today.
Also, yawg was right, you just Tendriled' out the turn you play Seal, there was no reason to mark the 2 life.
The P3K card just seemed to have a different surface.
I'm glad someone else notices this. Actually a lot of sets vary.
AQ, FE have sort of "rough" surfaces, while P3K and Ice Age have very high gloss variation between cards.
Also thanks for not being upset, haha. You take criticism very well.
I try to, but it has to be constructive, or it doesn't help me. Not just, "Wow, that sucks compared to your other stuff."
ALSO! Bristol, your pokémon alters are great, but that first Disciple is off the HOOK. LOVE IT!
I was busy living my life.
and I am done another work.
Lightning Dragon ~!!!
I love dragons. I am trying to alter dragons as many as I could.
They are basically poweful and picture itself has wonderful art.
This card has good impression of color,
which gave me wonderful motivation to do it at ease.
EronKim, I would really like to see you alter a Yawgmoth's Bargain.
I'd love to see your approach to it.
This also reminds me, would everyone be up to doing the "Paint and Present" idea I had before?
We choose a card and everyone alters one and then posts on the same day to compare/contrast.
It seems like it'd be a great way to see everyone's style differences.

Sounds awesome. I'd be up for it. It's also a good motivator to get down to work.

Thanks. I decided that's the one I'm gonna keep for EDH. I'd like to have other people's alters or other pimpage, but it's not within my means ATM and I don't want to use any crappy arts like Disciple.
Also, yeah I think this "Paint and Present" is a good idea. Maybe use a recent common, that way everyone has access?
Hrm, well we should start with something easy. It should also be something decent, because I figure most of us will sell them afterward.
I realize some of us will do alternate art, some of us will extend, etc, and that is fine, it isn't a competition, just a way to see how everyone handles something.

keep up the great work guys.

Immaculate work, I wish it would have said 'Me | You' instead of 'Me | Opp.'

I figure we could start with 'easy' cards/concepts like Brainstorm, Terminate, Path to Exile, Dark Ritual, and Oblivion Ring.
Then if we liked doing it, we could move up to harder cards/concepts like Yawgmoth's Bargain, Necropotence, Future Sight, and Mind's Desire.
