I liked There's Something About Mary. I don't really remember the movie though, so it might have been a totally not funny movie.
Has anyone seen the movie "Up"? I saw a trailer for it while watching Star Trek and it looked like it would be really good... anyone?
I actually seen up last Friday and it was awesome. It was my first movie in 3d haha. But yeah it's funny in the way only Disney movies can be funny and there are a lot of really sweet tender moments. I definitally recommend it to anyone who liked movies like Bolt or Coraline.
As for Ben Stiller movies I've only seen 5 movies with him in it and only rememeber liking two. Zoolander and Meet the Fockers were awesome, I've been meaning to see Tropic Thunder though.
I recently just seen Star Trek and I enjoyed it. I'm planning to go see it in Imax ASAP.

Up is very good. I'd call it a bittersweet comedy about relationships. Reminded me of Wall-E at points, in that sense. The dogs with the talking collars were one of the best parts of the show.
I didn't want to see tropic thunder. Roddy's character looked retarded from the previews and apparently that was one of the biggest attractions so I've skipped it in favor of keeping my sanity.
I don't think I'd like Tropic Thunder very much, and by now I'm predispositioned to hate it.
I will see up though eventually.

I saw 'Up' today... it was beautiful. Heck, even the SHORT before the film itself made me cry:D (yeah, I'm sensitive... rather, easily moved... there's a reason they call them 'movies'). Since everything that needs to be said about Up has been already said (you can check out Rotten Tomatoes, or random critics on the web. On RT it has a 98% score... almost perfect), I'll comment on the short instead! It's actually longer than I remember other pre-film Pixar shorts to be. It's called "Partly Cloudy" and it's an idyllic story about cloud-like entities (or deities, it's open to interpretation) who create life and send the babies to storks so they can deliver them to their respective parents.
There's this one cloud below the other ones who's in charge of creating the less pleasant animals. He's darker, smaller, and somewhat of a klutz, which is why he makes prickly and dangerous creatures. Its companion stork and him have a very close bond of friendship that keeps them together despite their destined hardship (something the others don't have). This one's stork, unlike the others, is unkempt and heavily beat up because of its especially hard work. After years of enduring the most painful jobs, the stork cannot resist the envy it's always had that other storks take for granted: deliver soft, cute, cuddly creatures like kittens, puppies, or baby humans. But he knows that changing clouds would make his already lonely friend unbearably sad. After he can't take it anymore, he goes to visit a cloud that we've seen previously make a jock puppy (the babies' personalities are chosen at birth). The gray cloud is angry, jealous, sad, and that's what causes lightning and rain. He felt like the long-awaited betrayal, which was what one can tell he feared the most, came, since it was logical. No one wishes to have the hardest jobs when everyone else have it easy. After the storm is gone, the martyred stork returns, and we see that he actually went to collect a helmet and American Football "armor" to endure his difficult job more easily, and thus continue his unshakable frienship with his companion cloud who's in charge of the hardest work.:) It was beautiful, I cried.
(yeah, I'm sensitive... rather, easily moved... there's a reason they call them 'movies').
Well...they also call 'em talkies. Movies were just meant to convey that it was moving pictures and talkies meant they had sound now.
but yeah I saw Up last night too! When people said you'd cry I had NO idea it meant at the BEGINNING of the movie. I really expected the story at the end to be the part that made me cry but dang. Bam! Right at the beginning I'm tearing up and I'm NOT a sensitive person. Up was wonderful so everyone go see it. Twice. Saddest Montage ever
LOL I've been stopping mid sentence and saying squirrel all week.
No one in my family has seen the movie so they dont get it. They just think I'm developing ADD

It was a wonderful movie.
I'm graduating highschool tomorrow, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I never really liked the school with the exception of a few people who I've seen everyday. But I'm still oddly bummed because I like the structure of school and the week I've had off I've been running around like a chicken without a head. I can't wait for work/college

Hello All! I decided to stop lurking and start talking. I don't really have much to share at the moment haha but that will come
@Nere- Congrats on the high school. I wouldn't be so quick to jump into the "real" work... it's just full of people from high school and bills. Maybe that's just me though. Either way a Woot is in order.
Welcome Dyonisisbaccus! (Can I just call you God of Wine?) Enjoy your stay.
On a completely different note, I have a random question. We have the whole Hot Guy of the Week thing? Has Gaymers ever done Hot Pro Tour Player of the Week? It's easy to find a hot celebrity, but a hot Magic celebrity??? Might be interesting to try.
Hm... what's the name of that German guy who won something big this year? He had a quite simple name... I think he's teh kyoot! I don't usually think Pro Players are hot, and I have a somewhat demanding taste in guys (being rather straight than not), but he's in my list.

I think it may be a slanted contest with many of the Asian Pro Players being much more fashionable than the sloppy American ones.

My current favourite pro is PV. His accent is so adorable. And Frank Karsten is pretty cute
I don't know who you're thinking of, Edghyatt... Lino Burgold won a GP recently, but that's all the German I can think of. Antti Malin is Finnish...

Level 3 Magic Judge
Do you know any judges who always impress you with their work ethic, knowledge, or attitude? Nominate them to be the next Judge of the Week!
There's a gay one right? Or at least prominently so? I can't remember the names of the ones I thought were cute but I do remember saying so. There are some really really nice pro players too so that goes a lot toward their attractiveness. I can't remember but is it Olivier and Antoine? They're awesome and really fun to talk to.
Nassif has a beautiful smile. He IS cute. I think he's attractive because he's so not the stereotype of hotness... but his attitude is impossible to not love. He's just so... cool! A true MTG idol. Plus, il est Français!:D
@ Howler: Good Luck! Remember to come visit DK and me if you have time!;) Apparently the Augusta MTG community is pretty active.
I'm not really familiar enough with the Magic pros to comment on who is yummy and who isn't. So in the mean time, I'll talk about a hot pro of a different sort in a timely installment of....
Hot Guy of the Week
With tennis season in full swing now, if you haven't watched any tournaments here's a reason you should: Rafael Nadal.
He's not typically my type, being a Spaniard with a sorta oblong face and long, girly hair, but he's got a killer smile
and killer body.
Oh, and he's one of the top athletes in the world. If you're one of the 5,999,999,000 people who doesn't follow pro tennis, you might be interested to know that last year he dethroned 5-year-in-a-row Wimbeldon champion Rodger Federer, playing the longest final game in Wimbeldon history. The boys tussled for nearly 5 hours straight, so you know he's got stamina on and off the court.
He also holds about a zillion other records, including winning the Olympic gold medal in 2008 for men's single tennis. He's the only male player to ever have won the French Open, Wimbledon, and an Olympic gold medal in the same year. He hold the record for most consecutive wins on a single type of court: 81 straight wins on clay. He won his first national and European titles at age 12, and was ranked among World's top 50 players by age 16.
In addition to his skill, he is also know for his colorful victory celebrations:
Despite his obvious oral fixation and penchant for getting down on his knees, this boy is almost certainly straight. The good news is he's European and clearly does not have an issue with personal space. So if you can spend some time with him, like maybe becoming a world-class tennis player, you might get a snuggle from him.
And now for a word from our sponsor:
The word would be..... Gimme!

Oh to be a kid and naive enough to think Ben Stiller was funny in anything that wasn't Zoolander.
It's always amusing when the only time an actor is funny is when they're "acting" stupid. Ben Stiller is guilty of it, and Adam Sandler is the king of it. At least Ben Stiller being stupid is funny though; I never could see what was so funny about Adam Sandler (with the exception of Little Nicky, but now that I think of it, it was every other actor in the movie that made it funny instead of him).

And for some it's just the opposite. I much prefer Jim Carrey and Will Farrel in serious movies even though that's not their preferred medium.
Btw Mugatu, you make me farty and bloated.
I'm a fan of Federer and Nadal. Bad-A choice for HGOTW!
Very very very good. I love tennis when I get a chance to watch it. It's been so long HGOTW. Too long. *carresses HGOTW*shhhh not now, there aren't enough people around...
btw to Dowkin: did you ever play King's Quest 7 with the mint leaf and the dangling participle? I honestly never could beat that game (couldn't get past the minotaur) I ask because I noticed from that How Well Do You Know Me quiz that you named your daughter after the makers of that game ^_^. ///stalker

I agree. I like Jim Carey's comedy, but I thought he was outstanding in The Truman Show and Man on the Moon. I absolutely despise Will Farrel. And I mean despise. But I recently saw Stanger Than Fiction for the first time and felt that not only did I really like the movie, but I think he was absolutely perfect for the role and no one else could have brought what he brought to the role.
btw to Dowkin: no, I don't have your email in which to make good on flirtatiously promised scandalous photos and such.
