Has anyone considered using Keeper of Progenitus? It might just be that my manabase isn't super fancy, but I've always been excited to get her out. That plus Mirari's Wake, since there's no mana burn anymore, has been really exciting to play with. Also, this is the best format ever for Elvish Piper. Sorry if these cards have been discussed already...
I don't like helping the opponents in a way that I can't handle it.
Wake is okay, but Mana Reflection is better in here. (+1/+1 is better for small dudes.)
Piper is ok, as long as you can protect him. I prefer enchantments/artifacts that cheat guys out.
Lands are shaky as I said, but Winding Canyons is MVP in here. So so good. Haven't tested Greater Good much, but Amulet is amazing.
Lots of little interactions between cards, Vigor combos with a few things, Baneslayer doesn't die to Kher Ridges, etc.

How are you liking Enlisted Wurm in here? I thought about him but then saw that theres not really all that much he could pull, and a badly timed Path or Swords could be awful if I get it right after a wrath or something.

Manabase might be risky, but what should I drop for a land?
People I play usually leave me alone (in multiplayer) if I am manascrewed. (Then I win, ha)
Obviously I just need one of my artifacts or mana-searching spells and I am good, but I could maybe fit in a land or two.

So true. I am amazed how much that happens.
You have such a solid card list, its hard to point at one card and say it doesn't fit, because they all do...
The card that strikes me as expensive and slow to use is Genesis. You have to get him into the GY, he cost 2g during upkeep, then you have the beast's CMC on top of that. Plus he doesn't Mayael. But... That's an eyeball analysis, and if he's letting you recast your 187 beasts multiple times a game, then I am wrong.
Also, I find Bloomtender gets fried right away, so if your local groups start seeing her as a threat, maybe that would be a cut.
My deck doesn't run the Masques storage lands, so maybe those help. I have a friend who runs them, and they are very slow but they do occassionally save him a mulligan.

Yeah, the storage lands are sweet.
I usually forget about Genesis, and don't really like him in the deck. It doesn't mix in well with everything else the deck does. He fits better in my other EDH deck, so I'll pull him for a G/W dual.
Bloomtender is a beast, and I would be very hesitant to pull acceleration for a land. He allows T4 Mayael activations, and lots of easy mana.

Yeah, Bloomtender is super and terribly underrated. If people are letting it live, it's a definite keeper.
I'm going to have to try out those storage lands.
My most frequent use for the storage lands is for doing 50 things in one turn, or something like it.
Usually have about 15-20 mana, and do ridiculous things in one turn that I shouldn't be able to.

Does anyone play Shivan Wurm in Mayael? It's cheap, huge, tramples, and the gating is somewhat abusable.

Actually I run Adarkar Valkyrie for that same purpose. She's not 5 power but she's absolutely nuts if not dealt with. 6 mana isn't that unreasonable for her either.
Iona, Shield of Emeria (from ZEN) seems like an auto-include in here. Grotesquely powerful and can shut entire decks down.
For those of you saying to cut Bloom Tender, the card is absolutely insane in this deck. Not only does it allow for a t4 Mayael activation, it ALSO allows t4 Mana Reflection. This means you can play a fatty and activate in the same turn, and Bloom Tender can activate Mayael BY ITSELF. Additionally, Mana Reflection + Grim Monolith = infinite mana.
The first two allow me to go R: Play fat thing, get fat thing from yard to hand, swing for win. The second two allow me to filter through my deck with amazing speed, even more so when someone actually plays something. Because of the additional enchantments, I also run Enlightened Tutor, and it's pretty dumb how fast things can go from "Hey I'm not a threat" to "Next game?", especially with the first combo.
And to the above guy, with the Station/Primus/Emergence combo: lol mono-green geddon? I love it, and consider it stolen. You could also use Greater Good to draw a bunch and win the game right there as well. Or run Hamletback Goliath and Mayael's Aria and win target game.
The two Elspeths are a great thesis on women in general. When you first meet one, she costs a decent amount to attract, makes you stronger and gives you the feeling that you're flying. She also goes to great lengths to protect her loved ones from harm. After a while, she gets more expensive to maintain, gives birth like a sow, becomes less loyal after doing so, and tops it all off by wrecking crap around the house. Except hers, of course.
Now my primary competition come from the form of a Rafiq of the Many Deck that not only has an iron-tight grip on the end game but also a fairly aggressive early game and basically tutor for any answer he needs combined with powerful recursion backed by Genesis, Reveillark, Eternal Witness, and the like. The weird thing about it is that thanks to Hallowed Burial and Bant Charm along with his expansive tutor network and insane amounts of card draw, most of my guys including Mayael the Anima end up back in my library more often than than in my graveyard. Just to clarify his early game is so brutal that I've been trying out Lignify, Prison Term, and even Firespout just to keep up. So any strategies or card suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Hello newbie here that just got done reading every post on this thread and decided to contribute my two cents about Mayael here's my list

lignify is wonderful. never take it out of your deck. ever.
this post is long and perhaps boring so I'm going to list the highlights here in a simple format I like to call "names of cards"
also before I begin I do feel like stating that I really wonder if this hallowed burial thing happens all the time of it just happened a lot in one or two games.
=====
why don't you just do this:
Cast congregation at dawn at the end of his turn, and then, on your turn, genesis wave for 3. put (in this order) realm razor then it that betrays then Tyrant of Discord into play. I'm not sure there's anything he could do to not loose after this, and as a bonus you get to have all of his things. even if he played a plains and then got rid of realm razor with path to exile or something... it's still mostly likely game over for him unless he gets perfect luck for like 4+ turns. By "why don't you do this:" I simply mean that sometimes the best answer is just to win instead of dealing with other people's crap. Even Gisela, Blade of Goldnight + Malignus if he's wide open.
also I must say that your best answer for his "put all poops on the bottom of each poopie's pooperies" shenanigans is jester's cap.
to take care of bant charm and a bunch of other nasty spot removal things that try to get rid of... give mayel some shroud/hexproof. lightning greaves (imHo) is a must. if you're drowning in spot removal I'd consider some others like swiftfoot boots, mask of avacyn, and even darksteel plate. playing against a tutory hallowed burial loop is tough. you don't want to weaken your deck by adding a bunch of cards just to deal with that one spell. If it's seriously an issue and dude is just flopping everything on the bottom of libraries all day long - I'd consider a few cards to deal with it...
birthing pod is a weak answer, but it can tuck mayel when it's needed, and also trade up creatures when hallowed burial is no longer an issue. add mimic vat for much rejoicing and happiness. slap something nasty on mimic vat off of a birthing pod and then search for something with an ETB effect like Terastodon cause like... who cares if he goes back into the library? surely not you or I. other ETB creatures that I wouldn't mind going back into the library: Bogardan Hellkite, Tornado Elemental, Woodfall Primus, Primeval Titan, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Duplicant, Tyrant of Discord, and there's probably more I can't think of. I don't think this works because of the "commander zone" being a different thing but it would be silly if it did... Wren's Run Packmaster would tuck mayel and then she'd come right back after hallowed burial did its thing.
the rest of this post is just me talking about cards that stop hallowed burial in some way. Everything above this line is the best data. everything below this line is more or less for posterity or whatever:
Stonecloaker isn't horrible. it will save mayael and then remove hallowed burial from the game if it's been played already. The drawback being that it will take up a utility creature slot because he's not p5 or greater. if it said "when stonecloaker leaves play remove target card in a graveyard from the game... well it would be just silly good. dear wotc, please print a 5/3 stonecloaker that removes target card from a graveyard when it leaves play instead of enters.
Helvault mayael tuck, and (albeit expensive) repeatable removal.
Dawn Charm works, but is a one shot. so that sucks.
Relic of Progenitus this is so-so. VERY much a meta card that you should probably take out if you're not looking down the barrel of graveyard recursion in a matchup.
Gaddock Teeg - this can hurt your gameplay a bit too so use it wisely.
Ghostway is a one shot, but can be devastating if you get the timing right.
Cold Storage - if you've got the mana it could be ok. getting gold storage RFG-ed is a scary possibility, but it will at least let you tuck mayael and put her in the commander zone instead of your library.
Parallax Wave if you feel hallowed burial is coming soon, this will buy you up to 5 turns.
Restoration Angel at this point I'm just listing cards that can deal with mass put-on-bottom-of-your-library. I wish she was p5, then I would like it a good amount for your purposes.
Safe Haven is freaky because they could strip mine it in the meantime, but it could do the trick.
Sword of the Ages probably way too situational to be usable. but if it ever worked it could be really funny. if you've got like 4 beefy guys on the table you could deal 20+ damage and get mayael back into the commander zone.
I'm currently building a Mayael as well and noticed a lot of people putting in Ulamog, The Infinite Gyre. Although that's a great way to end the game I like the aspect of putting in Ulamog, The Ceaseless Hunger instead. Less I'm boned and more gameplay

2. I stocked my 4 slot with 5 power creatures.

So any strategies or card suggestions would be greatly appreciated
lignify is wonderful. never take it out of your deck. ever.
this post is long and perhaps boring so I'm going to list the highlights here in a simple format I like to call "names of cards"
jester's cap
Nevinyrral's Disk / oblivion stone
greater good
ashnod's altar
Parallax Wave
also before I begin I do feel like stating that I really wonder if this hallowed burial thing happens all the time of it just happened a lot in one or two games.

why don't you just do this:
If it's seriously an issue and dude is just flopping everything on the bottom of libraries all day long - I'd consider a few cards to deal with it...
oblivion stone and Nevinyrral's Disk will at least let you put stuff in the graveyard. with any luck you'll have avacyn angel of hope or twilight shepherd out so your creatures are safe.
birthing pod is a weak answer, but it can tuck mayel when it's needed, and also trade up creatures when hallowed burial is no longer an issue. add mimic vat for much rejoicing and happiness. slap something nasty on mimic vat off of a birthing pod and then search for something with an ETB effect like Terastodon cause like... who cares if he goes back into the library? surely not you or I. other ETB creatures that I wouldn't mind going back into the library: Bogardan Hellkite, Tornado Elemental, Woodfall Primus, Primeval Titan, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Duplicant, Tyrant of Discord, and there's probably more I can't think of.
Planar Guide... all-way ghostway on a stick.(kinda).
Restoration Angel at this point I'm just listing cards that can deal with mass put-on-bottom-of-your-library. I wish she was p5, then I would like it a good amount for your purposes.
Safe Haven is freaky because they could strip mine it in the meantime, but it could do the trick.
Sword of the Ages probably way too situational to be usable. but if it ever worked it could be really funny. if you've got like 4 beefy guys on the table you could deal 20+ damage and get mayael back into the commander zone.
personally, I'd just hope get a double tutor that puts stuff on the battlefield like tooth and nail or defense of the heart. I'd grab realm razor + Tyrant of Discord.
Another thing you could do is just make him not want to play burial. i'm too tired to think of how, but I know it's possible.
