I guess I am buying what Vamp is selling less than everyone else. I thought it kind of stunk.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
So the basis of the case on jskura is the word "too" at the end of a post.
a weak claim
and the vanilla issue
Claiming all those abilities is bold for a scum. And the "too" part made me thought he thought the other player was town not know he was town.
If we let him live, he blocks any investigators, so he possibly outs that player. However if it's one shot then Night 2 he's cooked. Sure it's WIFOM, but jskura is pretty much committed to his night action if he is scum. If he's town, well I have a plan that requires his cooperation.
His claim is also nicely symmetrical, I don't see scum getting that much power (one shots or not)
I had a rough day at work, nonstop writing, so I'll whip up part 2 of the magwald case later this week.
I'm going to look at the preceeding wagons (3 or more votes) for clues.
He starts off as though he's going to try and dismiss the wagon, then doesn't take a strong stance, one way or the other, only speculating on vague "plans" he could use jskura for "if he is town".
So yeah. It reads to me as though he is planning to try and come in swinging hard to back jskura, then loses his nerve and waffles instead.
Exactly the kind of thing I could see a bad scum player doing.
Votecount
jskura (11) - Rafaelk, DYH, dropkickdude, AlphaInsidious, atlseal, Shalako, Ecophagy, Sepiriel, jskura, Wrath of DoG, Vampyr
Infinis (2) - Magwald, creampuffeater
RobRoy (1) - desCoures
Wolf with a Bass (1) - RobRoy
Magwald (1) - Infinis
It takes 11 to Lynch with 20 alive.
As of this post, jskura has been lynched.
~~~
A trickle of blood dribbled down jskura’s lips. His mouth opened but no sound came out.
A trickle of sweat trailed down Vampyr’s forehead. He looked tensed and really edgy.
A group of you clustered around both, in silent support of the murder wrought in front of all. In between the two legendary personas, a five-foot rod of iron was punctured through the stomach of one and gripped in the hands of another.
In the ensuing accusations and arguments that had broken out, somehow a majority of you had decided that jskura was one of the guilty parties. In the ensuing scuffle that got increasingly violent and physical, somehow one of you managed to secure an iron rod from somewhere.
It was an emotional overcharged atmosphere that was ended by a single lunge.
With a sigh and a slump, jskura breathed out his final to the world.
jskura, The High Abbot (Town) was lynched on Day 1.
Name: jskura Alignment: Town Title: The High Abbot Domain: The Iris Monasteries are sacred places that house the most exotic of all living creations, the Goo. From dawn to dusk, serenaded by thousands of soothing chants from the Monks, the hundreds of tiny multicolored bouncing blobs living there would preened excitedly at the attention they obtained from everyone, especially the tourists. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
Follower: White Goo Note: Arguably the cutest among all species of Goo, there are tons of reports of a general sense of wellness and serenity when this Goo is staring at you with its cute little moist eyes that just seem to pummel whatever ill intents and harmful feelings you possess into submission and beyond. Ability: One-shot, Night, each player targeting you tonight will be protected from all kills.
~~~ Follower: Green Goo Note: The ultimate secret spy – tiny, cute, green, and bounce a lot. No one knows why but this species of Goo just excels at digging out dirt on people. In fact, there are rumors going around that it is the only Goo species being used in intelligence services. You didn’t hear that from us, of course. Ability: One-shot, Night, name of each player targeting you tonight will be revealed to you.
~~~ Follower: Black Goo Note: The ultimate watchdog, even more of a watchdog as compared to a real watchdog, this species of Goo is known to be extremely vigilant against any and all intruders attempting to invade its owner’s house. It is awfully unnerving when stumbling into a lightless area and seeing an entire wall of darkness blinking their eyes at you. Ability: One-shot, Night, each player targeting you tonight will be immune from all non-kill effects.
~~~ Follower: Red Goo Note: The most protective and violent among all species of Goo, it has an almost paranoid and psychopathic tendency towards whomever it perceived to be threatening against its owner. In all actuality, this is the only species of Goo with reports of lethal attacks against humans, a most surprising fact considering its physical attributes. Ability: One-shot, Night, each player killing you tonight will also die.
The voluminous robes that jskura wore rustled slightly. A few seconds later, four colored blobs tumbled to the ground. One of the blobs, which was colored red, deliberately bounced several paces forward. An overwhelmingly murderous rage suddenly tinged the air.
“Goo.”
It was a single innocuous word, yet uttered with such intensity and malevolence. You couldn’t help but get the feelings that you were all going to die horribly, in one way or another.
“Goo Goo Goo.”
Another of the blob thing bounced up and down in a stern tone, and suddenly the suffocating heavy pressure disappeared as it never was.
“Goo.”
With a disdainful grunt, the red blob bounced back to join the other three in settling down to wait for all this drama to end.
You frowned slightly at that. Right, there was still a magical ward to be broken and the guilty perpetrators to be caught. The intense discussion seemed to have exhausted everyone though, and none seemed eager and ready to continue it immediately.
And a period of break was called.
~~~
It is now Night 1.
There is a deadline of 72 hours for night action submissions. Day 2 will begin after all the night actions have been processed.
It was short break. And in that brief span of time, three were dead. You could only describe the vertigo sensation you were feeling right now as utterly stunned.
In one quiet corner of the hall, creampuffeater lay dead, his neck twisted at an unnatural angle reminiscent of being choked forcibly. His three puppet followers stood behind the corpse, unresponsive as if their strings had been cut.
creampuffeater, The Director (Town) was strangled on Night 1.
Name: creampuffeater Alignment: Town Title: The Director Domain: The Corporations operate with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine, all cold logic and data streaming in sequence. They serve as the technological hubs of the world, even dipping their hands into researches outright forbidden in every other field in the name of progress. There are whispers of many a missing person report being linked to them. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
Artifact: The Monocle Note: It is big and round, with a golden frame to kill for and a capacity to glint off light in such a manner as to make you seem highly dangerous. You delighted in the fact that whenever you brought it out to use it, everyone else shuddered in fear of you. Tragically, its primary function is purely aesthetic. Ability: None.
~~~ Follower: Subject J Note: Highly dexterous and nimble, subject has been noted to be able to sneak past all securities guarding a certain position in order to determine all articles being held there. The ease in which it adapted to such a task suggested previous experience. May be pushed to obtain more information out of infiltration but will be rendered null after. Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Artifacts. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Artifacts and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
~~~ Follower: Subject K Note: Talented unnaturally so in mind infiltration, subject has a sight limitation and a working range of up to half a mile. A delicate procedure still in experimental stage, so restriction to casual brushing of thought surfaces is suggested for repeated usage. A more straining and deadly variant may dig out more conclusive results, though highly dangerous to subject. Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Spells and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
~~~ Follower: Subject T Note: Subject has been noted to have an almost unnatural sway with other people. Side effects of the combination of drugs and training has given it an almost hypnotic-like persuasion skill that has been confirmed to manipulate subconscious brainwaves of all living entities. Powers are still at preliminary stages and attempts to enhance them are ill-advised without further data. Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Followers. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Followers and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
In another corner of the hall, was desCoures, pinned to the wall via a single blade through his throat. His eyes were bloodshot and bulging. A stream of red stained the entire front of his clothes and had yet to cease its flows.
desCoures, The Guildmaster (Town) was impaled on Night 1.
Name: desCoures Alignment: Town Title: The Guildmaster Domain: If there is power in numbers, then a guild would be the penultimate symbol of that power. The next logical step then would be the Workers Union, the ultimate incarnation where numbers are indeed strength, where all the guilds are combined into a single frightening mass of workers demanding their rights and going on strikes. Destruction is optional. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
Artifact: Crest of Conviction Note: A symbol of office where the faith of millions are placed onto your shoulders. With the heavy burden of such responsibility on your shoulders, how can you even fail? Or falter? Or even show the tiniest hint of weakness? For were you to fail, who else can these millions look up to? Ability: Transferable, you cannot gain Vulnerability status. Whenever you receive this, if you have Vulnerability status, remove the status.
~~~ Artifact: Ancient Ledger Note: A weathered yellowed script of ancient papers that looks set to crumble the moment someone breathes on it. As far as you can ascertain, it has a divinatory purpose though you doubt you should actually use it. Divination is a tricky business. What if the result stuns you so much that you accidentally destroys such a priceless antique? Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, you will be told the number of non-discarded items in the game with Exhausted and non-Exhausted given as separate numbers.
~~~ Spell: Secret Note: Being weak is not something one likes to air to the public. And a great many people would take great steps and lengths just to ensure that secret will be taken to their graves with them. But if you do not know where they are, how else can you help them? Unfortunately, this divinatory ritual is rather loud. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, reveal all players with Vulnerability status in the game thread.
~~~ Spell: Representative Note: When the weak falter, the strong shall rise in their stead. It does not really matter if the weak protest such a notion, for is it not the strong’s obligation to graciously guide them? This calling spell will immediately identify all the players afflicted with weakness and allow you to act on their behalf. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, all players with Vulnerability status will be informed of their loss of votes and you gain that many votes for the day.
And finally, Wrath of DoG had the honor of bearing the most gruesome of sight. Where the person once known as Wrath of DoG should be, there was only a pile of mess more akin to a body battered so dreadfully that all blood were purged out to pool around it in a mockery of red.
Wrath of DoG, The Oracle (Town) was bloodied on Night 1.
Name: Wrath of Dog Alignment: Town Title: The Oracle Domain: Above the highest peak under the sea of stars stand the Observatories, a place of worship to the Sight as well as a center of learning on the movement of heavens. So profound was their understanding of the charts of fates that they are often sought out whenever great world events occur, calamitous or otherwise. WinCondition: Eliminate the scums.
Artifact: Questing Gem Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however. Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
~~~ Spell: Mindsight Note: A very powerful invasionary mind magic that duplicates the exact workings of another spell right out of an unwilling mind. The incantations to initiate this magic is very exhaustive however to both magical reserve and strength, and will most likely kill you if not enough time has passed in between casting to recuperate both. Ability: One-shot, Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. If that player has any Spell, you gain a copy of that Spell permanently. If that player has more than one Spells, you gain a copy of one of those Spells of your choice permanently.
You all glanced at each other in paranoia and worries.
Suddenly all these seemed like a far more serious issue than just a mere annoyance.
At the rate it was going, most of you won’t live to see the outside by the time the wards were broken.
Will vote jskura. Sepiriel is scum. RobRoy is scum. Less sure on Arcadic now.
WIFOM it to death all you want, but I can't help but think dC was on to something, here. The other two kills make sense - CPE's ability was a threat to the scum, and WoD was probably a (poor) vig shot. Yes, he was going to come under scrutiny today for his ill-timed vote, but that's no reason to shoot him unclaimed. DesCoures, on the other hand, was a kill of fear - either he was on to someone or they just really didn't want him around because of his skill.
Of the people mentioned above, I haven't like RobRoy for much of the game, anyhow, and I don't get bad vibes about Arcadic at all.
I would be sad to hear that WoD was some kind of vig. shot, as I didn't feel bad about him at all.
Person I want to look at the most is person I said I wanted to look at yesterday and then didn't get to it, which is Infinis.

Yeah, that's probably mine and jskura's 'fault' that WoD got shot if you go look at the twilight postings. But again, not a real good play if it was a vig since he was unclaimed.
"I was certain that Infinis was going to get vigged last night, so certain that I used my investigative spell on Alpha_Insidious instead. I got a scum result. Discuss."

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.
Atl, in 837 you claim AI is scum and vote DKD. In 843 you claim Arc is scum and question magwald's investigation result. I guess that for a more experienced player, mags play is suspect. But wouldn't he be a fish out of water if we mislynched because of his "made-up" investigation on the next day?
Anyway, I chose to believe magwald. Vote Alpha Insidious
That's not a claim I'm seriously going to question, coming out like that. So:
Vote: AlphaInsidious

Got to ask, Shak, but are you saying you went for the highest postcount just in the hope that you might get something for it?
That seems like kind of a longshot, Harry Potter Mafia on a completely different site notwithstanding.

With the bolded "you" are you, Axel, referring to Shalako or the person that would claim to have started the game with the item?

What makes you think someone started with the item and it didn`t come into play day one?
I don't know, I just know it's possible.
So I want to reduce the possibilities to (1) Item started in player X's hands, (2) Item started in scum hands (3) Item didn't exist before Day 2.
You might say that we won't ever know whether it's #2 or #3 if no one claims it, and that might be true, but maybe not. I don't see where it hurts in any event.

Well played with the investigation. Less well played with the immediate reveal.

He isn't questioning the result, but you can often get more info out of scums by giving them some time to thrash before landing a killshot. Now AI will know that he's been caught, so he's less likely to give us anything we can use.
Also, if anyone has the capacity to cause a spell to be exhausted (not a limited use spell, a perpetual, passive one), then I would greatly appreciate them helping me out. I was going to ask this yesterday, but the day ended before I could.
Actually, no; I'd like to hear him answer this question.
Is there any reason why who i targeted is important? The point being, i do not know if i was roleblocked or if the target was A. Protected or B. Immune. Unless you can somehow investigate if my target is immune, i don't see a reason to name my target.

If you aren't sure why did you mention before that you might have been roleblocked? Your choice of words is curious... what message did you get exactly: Blocked or Failed?
As for revealing your target, it would help greatly.

I find it interesting we are talking about Vig Shots and Scum kills but have as of yet not mentioned SK's since we have way to many deaths (well we could have a second mafia in the mix)
Vote AI an investigation is as good as gold, AI is at L-2 claim time, and please no more votes until town reaches agreement.

Sep, the flavor of the action seems to say roleblocked, but it says i failed to do my action on my target. For a flavor heavy game like this one, i would not expect something flavorless like "You were Roleblocked".

This calling spell will immediately identify all the players afflicted with weakness and allow you to act on their behalf.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, all players with Vulnerability status will be informed of their loss of votes and you gain that many votes for the day.
Wrath of DoG, The Oracle (Town) was bloodied on Night 1.
Name: Wrath of Dog
Alignment: Town
Title: The Oracle
Domain: Above the highest peak under the sea of stars stand the Observatories, a place of worship to the Sight as well as a center of learning on the movement of heavens. So profound was their understanding of the charts of fates that they are often sought out whenever great world events occur, calamitous or otherwise.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
Artifact: Questing Gem
Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however.
Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
~~~
Spell: Mindsight
Note: A very powerful invasionary mind magic that duplicates the exact workings of another spell right out of an unwilling mind. The incantations to initiate this magic is very exhaustive however to both magical reserve and strength, and will most likely kill you if not enough time has passed in between casting to recuperate both.
Ability: One-shot, Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. If that player has any Spell, you gain a copy of that Spell permanently. If that player has more than one Spells, you gain a copy of one of those Spells of your choice permanently.
Suddenly all these seemed like a far more serious issue than just a mere annoyance.
At the rate it was going, most of you won’t live to see the outside by the time the wards were broken.
It is now Day 2.
It takes 9 to Lynch with 16 alive.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.
WIFOM it to death all you want, but I can't help but think dC was on to something, here. The other two kills make sense - CPE's ability was a threat to the scum, and WoD was probably a (poor) vig shot. Yes, he was going to come under scrutiny today for his ill-timed vote, but that's no reason to shoot him unclaimed. DesCoures, on the other hand, was a kill of fear - either he was on to someone or they just really didn't want him around because of his skill.
Of the people mentioned above, I haven't like RobRoy for much of the game, anyhow, and I don't get bad vibes about Arcadic at all.
I do not think that we should be claiming who shot whom.
I would be sad to hear that WoD was some kind of vig. shot, as I didn't feel bad about him at all.
Person I want to look at the most is person I said I wanted to look at yesterday and then didn't get to it, which is Infinis.
Call this a healthy dose of skeptacism, but you strike me as a player with a good bit of experience. Why come out with this information right at day start?
Anyway, I chose to believe magwald. Vote Alpha Insidious
Once about a time there was a Mafia Game On a far off website called Goodgamery.
It was called Harry Potter Mafia.
In it there were items. Wonderful items. One of them was called a Snitch.
It was given to the player with the highest vote count at the end of the day.
So Shalako decided that He would try and get the most post counts in this other game with items.
And guess what happened?
He got a wonderful item! He held it all night admiring it.
But he figured out that the item was evil and was helping the Villains.
So he told the upsetting news that the Item revealed.
It allowed the Villains to talk to each other during the day as long as One of them had it!
I'll vote Alpha before the day is done, but this is a very important question I need answered from Shalako first.
But first, I'd like to have him post up the responses to me he said he'd have.
I got it for having the most post counts.
I am by far the best person to have this item(I`m going for all the items I can get my grubbing hands on.)
I am uncertain if this item came into the game Day One or Day Zero.
That seems like kind of a longshot, Harry Potter Mafia on a completely different site notwithstanding.
With the bolded "you" are you, Axel, referring to Shalako or the person that would claim to have started the game with the item?
Don't be too happy. I said things make sense. Not that I feel better about you doing this.
The hypothetical person who started with the item and is not fessing up to it.
Yep. I got the most votes also (didn`t mean to at the beginning but because no one else voted a 100 times I got it.)
It`s the only real experience in a game with Items I have.
And it`s a win/no real lose kinda deal.
[Mafia Stats] Mafia MVP: 1/3 Basic #29,Co-[CCMV]
So you're sure you got it by having the most posts, and not the most votes?
What makes you think someone started with the item and it didn`t come into play day one?
[Mafia Stats] Mafia MVP: 1/3 Basic #29,Co-[CCMV]
Yes. %100
[Mafia Stats] Mafia MVP: 1/3 Basic #29,Co-[CCMV]
I don't know, I just know it's possible.
So I want to reduce the possibilities to (1) Item started in player X's hands, (2) Item started in scum hands (3) Item didn't exist before Day 2.
You might say that we won't ever know whether it's #2 or #3 if no one claims it, and that might be true, but maybe not. I don't see where it hurts in any event.
Not liking Shalako right now, what happened seem too convoluted to actually have happened.
Magwald, why did you reveal your investigation now?
My wife was on MTV with this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUutIZg2EpU
Who did you target?
[Mafia Stats] Mafia MVP: 1/3 Basic #29,Co-[CCMV]
Not much I can say about this. Let me know if you have any questions or points that I can respond to.
Well played with the investigation. Less well played with the immediate reveal.
He isn't questioning the result, but you can often get more info out of scums by giving them some time to thrash before landing a killshot. Now AI will know that he's been caught, so he's less likely to give us anything we can use.
Vote: AlphaInsidious.
Why you need to know this?
Isn't it enough that he made it know?
Dammit, I loved that role. Whoever shot me, if they were Town, will face my scathing snark of DOOM in the postgame.
I agree, it seems like a weird explanation.
This is probably true - such an item seems unlikely not to start in the hands of scum.
Actually, no; I'd like to hear him answer this question.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
Is there any reason why who i targeted is important? The point being, i do not know if i was roleblocked or if the target was A. Protected or B. Immune. Unless you can somehow investigate if my target is immune, i don't see a reason to name my target.
My wife was on MTV with this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUutIZg2EpU
As for revealing your target, it would help greatly.
---------
I find it interesting we are talking about Vig Shots and Scum kills but have as of yet not mentioned SK's since we have way to many deaths (well we could have a second mafia in the mix)
Vote AI an investigation is as good as gold, AI is at L-2 claim time, and please no more votes until town reaches agreement.
Yep, there certainly is.
Who did you target?
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
I see people telling me to reveal my target but not giving me reasons to do so.
Sep, the flavor of the action seems to say roleblocked, but it says i failed to do my action on my target. For a flavor heavy game like this one, i would not expect something flavorless like "You were Roleblocked".
