I know the colors are traditionally "rock" colors, but there are so many cats/beasts/elephants/trees/etc. that I thought zoo was more appropriate. This deck is probably considered casual but I consider it "competitive" based on the fact that I've actually won games with it, which is a first in EDH for me
Strengths
- Stablity - Because of recurrence/tutoring/equipment/generally low cmc, I tend to always have threats out, even after massive board wipes.
- Versitility - I have so many options with this deck, I still haven't figured out how to pilot it expertly yet. It's not complicated in the combo sense, but the fact that I can reliably draw or tutor for any of my utility creatures/legends gives me tons of options
- Doran or no Doran - I made sure to include many cards that were threats without Doran in play (Avenger of Zendikar, Rampaging Baloths, Terrastadon, etc. etc.), but everything gets better when he's out.
Weaknesses/Areas that need improvement
- Land - I don't have the time/money/attention span to craft a perfect curve with three colors. Budget suggestions would be great.
- Equipment - Again, budget restraints. Darksteel Plate is surprisingly good. Slagwurm Armor is a must, and Ensouled Scimitar is also surprisingly good. Any other suggestions?
- Combo Disruption - I have 0 combo disruption in here. What are my best options for disruption in BGW?
Fun Stuff
- Tangle Angler - By itself, it's a fine combat control card. With Doran, it's a 5/5 infect threat. With Doran AND Slagwurm Armor/Ensouled Scimitar/Accorder's Shield, it's nearly a Blightsteel Colossus for very cheap.
- Scute Mob - These little guys are an auto-include in any EDH deck I've built that uses G. By the time people notice it, it's usually a 26/26 or larger.
- Storm Herd - I'll never get over making 30+ Pegasi in a game
- Treefolk Harbinger + Changeling Cards - Hardly a new concept, but it just adds even more depth to the most smug tree in the forest.
- Legend Party - Part of the reason I built this deck was because I couldn't decide on a GW general. As it turns out, each one of the legends I looked at had a purpose that fit exactly into the deck I wanted to build. Slapping down Gaddock Teeg to stop board wipes/crippling effects before activating Kamahl, Fist of Krosa's Overrun ability is so much fun.
Well, there it is! This is only the 3rd EDH deck that I've built and I've had a lot of help so far, but feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I could see the signets being a positive note for early game mana fixing.
Silklash Spider has always done good things for me as it can hurricane on a stick as well as being a great beater for his mana in the deck.
Reach of Branches can really make you an army plus it is instant speed with recursion built in. I would consider it.
I never have been impressed by Ajani Goldmane in EDH. I think he could be cut myself.
As for combo disruption I have always found Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, and Go for the Throat to be good combo breakers. Instant speed creature kill will stop a lot of annoying stuff. Beyond that a well timed Krosan Grip is very solid as well at stoping combos.
I never have been impressed by Ajani Goldmane in EDH. I think he could be cut myself.
Come to think of it, at this point he's a vestige of when I was trying to make this a token deck and then decided against it. He's probably much better in my Brion Stoutarm deck, which wants to gain life and have a life total sized creature to chuck at someone.
+ Omnath, Locus of Mana - Fetchable with Sisay or GSZ, double utility as ramp or a big beater, or both.
+ Ranger of Eos - Works well with my 1-drops, as per the above suggestion. Could use some more targets.
+ Gaea's Blessing - I only had to get totally blown out by Geth once to understand why this card is an absolute must.
+ Shizo, Death's Storehouse - Decent ability, and none of my cards care about swamps so this is a fine replacement.
+ Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers - See Shizo. Doran at 1/6 is better than Doran at 1/5.
+ Forbidding Watchtower - Good with Doran in a pinch.
+ Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree - Chump blockers are fine. This one is iffy, but Dread Statuary kind of sucks too, so who knows.
Points of Curiosity
* Kamahl is very mana intensive, but I still like using his abilities during Teeg lockdown. If I cut any legend, it's probably going to be him.
* Storm Herd - Millions of Pegasi are adorable, but Kozilek, Buther of Truth is probably a better 10 drop, no?
Overall I think the legend theme is working out really well, so if I can smooth out the kinks this deck will be great. It's already a blast to play.

Also you mentioned your likeing for Scute Mob, you might try Ranger of Eos to pull him up. Other one drop creatures that would be decent would probably be Serra Ascendant, and Weathered Wayfarer
Belbe's Armor makes me lolz

Ranger of Eos also seems good for yanking Treefolk Harbinger out of my deck, which is a biggie.
Silklash Spider also looks awesome, and 3GG is way cast-able in this deck. Good suggestions!

- Grizzled Leotau - Cute with Doran, needed to go eventually.
- Acorrders Shield - Ditto
- Crenellated Wall - Double ditto
- Ajani Goldmane - As the deck became more about big beaters, Ajani's abilities were rarely relevant
- Dread Statuary - This card was filler
- Esper Panorama - Need better fetches
- Whispersilk Cloak - I'm on the fence about this. I really like giving Doran shroud, but so far Darksteel Plate has worked better for me. Surviving board sweeps is huge.
+ Omnath, Locus of Mana - Fetchable with Sisay or GSZ, double utility as ramp or a big beater, or both.
