Don't like how Sepiriel voted. Doesn't matter if there is no chance for a surprise hammer, shouldn't be throwing votes out there like that where there is a great deal the town has to talk about.
Don't care for TFF's plan. Guess I was wrong about him.
Also don't understand what Axel's desire is to live to the end game. Who cares if you die now, Night 1 or not at all? All of the town wins or loses together. I'm starting to get the feeling Axel is a neutral role.
@TFF: the only way the game won't end with Eco's death is if there's another mafia member or a SK left alive. If you, as a neutral survivor, fail to fulfill your WC when all the mafia team and SK are eliminated, I can't see there being a reason the game continues, since the town wins. You simply lose. Am I missing something here?

I think atlseal's point was that if someone else hammers, you lose (can't get your required # of kills) so game ought to end anyway, yes?
Or, you're just not telling the truth (surprise!) And coming up with this as your best last chance gasp to live.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.

Nope. I just don't like dying.
Man, if TFF is scum too, I wasn't that bad at all this game.

If you are talking about the revote then meh dont really see the problem, specially when all i did was put Eco in L-2, and like i said the only way to get a surprise lynch right now is from Arcadic and anyone doing that would be stupid and non-town.

Dont think so, either that or he investigates as scum which makes the role and the role winning that much more undesirable and more of a reason to not let him achieve his wincon.

Axel could you please answer my question? Who where you intending to pass your vig and why?
Magwald.
He was being a pain in the butt and I was hoping it would shut him up. Plus, he was extremely unlikely to be any kind of scum or someone's NK target last Night.

The game won't end when eco dies. -You'll either need to kill me or let me gain enough kills to remove myself from the game.
Killing you is a lot, lot less problematic. There have been neutrals I've felt genuinely sorry about having to screw over out of maximum safety for the town, but this is not one of those occasions. Besides, I'm still pretty convinced you're actually the last scum with Eco. In a game without an SK and with a number of defensive abilities, I don't know why Axelrod is so convinced the scum can't have had 2 one-shot kills on top of their regular kill.
Despite my general dislike of mass kill plans, particularly ones involving me when I'm cop cleared, had a kill attempt made on me, had my own kill attempt on night 2 prevented by the scum jailer etc etc, I believe this one must end the game (although I'm confident that merely shooting TFF would achieve the same thing, the mass-kill will work too, so mise well do it).
Therefore I agree with Arcadic's plan with one exception: Vamp to shoot TFF, and Arcadic to bomb me. If someone interferes with Arcadic, or he's scum, both Arcadic and TFF wake up alive while me and my vig power are gone. Not ideal. We want to be sure that this plan puts at least one of Arcadic and TFF in the ground even if one kill doesn't go through.
Problem is that if Arcadic is mafia he can pretty much screw us up with the vote steal, so i would rather someone shot him as well just to be sure we dont suddenly get vote locked.

EBWODP: Disregard the last post after a reread of the statement i realized if Arcadic did the vote steal he still wouldn't have enough for a surprise lynch.
I guess the only thing missing is figuring out who i should target tonight.

I am a neutral. And at this point I can just barely still win with the town, if everyone cooperates. If I kill (either by NK or lynch) 7 players, I win and am removed from the game, which continues without me (AKA you'll win too). So, if you let me hammer, and then NK as the only kills from now until the game ends, we'll all win on the last day with 3 alive. -With Vampyr in the game it's impossible for me to win otherwise anyway, so there is really no risk involved, but if you guys are either mean or afraid to trust me then oh well I guess.
Well hello there Mr. Serial Killer. This guy isn't one of mine.
I guess the only thing missing is figuring out who i should target tonight.
Well, baring another surprise, if you RB TFF then their won't be any deaths other than those we cause to ourselves.
What Raf. suggested then works to seemingly eliminate anybody who can still do kills.
If there were another kill with Raf, Arc, Vamp, and TFF accounted for then it would have to have come from, I guess, Magwald or myself?
There would still be, at that point, a minimum (assuming, let's say that atlseal somehow showed up dead) of Vamp, Sep, and (one of Mag or Me) vs. last possible scum. You lynch the one of Mag or me, Sep can still RB the other and win. Plus that person can't really kill Vamp anyway.
You could also do it with letting TFF kill someone (he's said Raf.), and Sep would then presumably put the RB on one of Mag or myself. Then, if atlseal showed up dead tomorrow, you would lynch the one of Mag or myself that Sep didn't RB.
So, directing TFF to Raf. and putting Arc on TFF, means Vamp could actually shoot one of Mag or me (probably me :p) have Sep. RB the other, and it's a total bloodbath, but I guess we win?
This seems silly to even be talking about.
TFF: if you happen to be telling the truth (and you might and still be a SK, I was a SK once who didn't have to kill everybody) you can just take it as some kind of moral victory, but there's no way we would ever drag this out for (how many?) days just to let you keep killing people. You could just concede to Dagger and end it now

My choices where between TFF and Mags so yeah i think ill go for either of those tonight, although if we are gonna go and do a full coordination i would like to see a definite list of actions.
As things stand if i block TFF the only thing that should happen tomorrow outside of the coordinated kills is the bouncer smacking someone.
If i block mags there should be no bouncer but we are risking TFF killing someone.
Ughh i hate this late game planning... this is why i never play UW Control i just don't have the patience.

I'm still waiting on clarification from TFF, but it seems rather clear to me right now. We kill and RB TFF, and if there is any other kill, we hunt it down. I of course volunteer to sacrifice myself to kill TFF should we go that route.

Scant minutes into the day, with the arguments hurled around sharp and furious, a decision was already made.
Ecophagy barely had time to blink and process in the verdict, before Arcadic already had him in his grasp.
Literally.
“What?”
A single stunned expression flashed across Ecophagy’s face.
“This.”
A pair of hands moved, hard and fast, and Ecophagy’s head snapped around a full 180 degree.
Literally.
The body that hit the floor was as lifeless as the previous dozen or so.
Ecophagy, The Forgemaster (Mafia) was lynched on Day 5.
Name: Ecophagy Alignment: Mafia Title: The Forgemaster Domain: Artificers, Blacksmiths, Sculptors and a half dozen other crafting professions collectively have the title of Forgemaster as their most esteemed and prestigious honor. Sadly, this often causes those conferred the title to be fully immersed in being a spokesperson dealing with political and economic affairs instead rather than continuing the crafts they love so much. Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
Artifact: Talisman Note: It is a short strip of paper inscribed with sigils and runes of power. Very traditional. Very potent. Almost certainly going to do something. That is what you believed anyway, judging from the instructions jotted on it. Whisper a name to it and the Talisman’s power will burn up, together with the functionality of the named article. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, name a one-shot Artifact, Spell or Follower without the Used status. If it exists in the game, it gains the Exhausted status. ~~~ Spell: Solemn Vow Note: Among the most important of unspoken vows between craftsmen is the vow of brotherhood and kinship. This is the bond forged through the same profession, of an understanding based in the similar dangers, hardships and trials that have to be endured. That one would not take advantage of each other but will still come to the other’s aid. Ability: An aide’s primary ability is nullified in your presence. Night, name an Aide. It will be returned to you at the end of Night if it has yet to be discarded. ~~~ Follower: Tactical Aide Note: In the battlefield of military war as well as those of political nature, the Tactical Aide offers advices and suggestions that will both lengthen your lifespan and career. When its contract with you has ended however, at a time when the Aide deems fit, it will leave your service for another. Ability: Transferable, your Lynch threshold is +1. ~~~ Artifact: Lidless Eye Note: It is a piece of marble, carved in the likeness of a lidless eye. An exquisite craftsmanship to be certain. Almost certainly going to be worth a lot, judging from the way the almost lifelike eye seems to follow your every move. But closer inspection reveals that alas, it is as non-magical as it can be. Ability: None.
“Is it over?”
Someone queried.
“It isn’t.”
You replied grimly.
Somehow, somewhat, the wards maintaining the prison enchantment still held, though it began to dull and darken even as you watched.
Maybe a short break was all you all needed before the wards failed completely.
Maybe.
~~~
It is now Night 5.
There is a deadline of 72 hours for night action submissions. Day 6 will begin after all the night actions have been processed.
The barrier wards flickered. Its intensity continued to be abating. Everyone's eyes were glued onto the shimmering field as if it was the most anticipated thing in their entire life. Counting down every second. Glancing at every darkening patch. Feeling every sweat trickling down. And in a way, it was indeed the thing they had looked so forward to in such a very long time.
It was in that moment of unparalleled intensity that TheFooFish made his final desperate gambit, surrounded on all sides by people he would rather see dead. One of his hands extended forward in a clawing grasp and he pulled at the air, spitting out a string of arcane invocations in a rushed breath.
"Urk."
RafaelK flew like a rag-doll across the entire hall right right into TheFooFish's hand, knocking aside tables and chairs, and smashing through those too large to be moved by sheer force. A trail of blood followed the entire violent passage and RafaelK arrived at his destination with two of his limbs bent at an awkward angle.
TheFooFish's grip on RafaelK's throat lasted only for a single fleeting second before he released his prey almost immediately after, screaming in obscenities and clutching at his head. The mystic spellcraft was forgotten forcibly as he staggered backward and crashed into the nearest wall. RafaelK collapsed onto the floor, twitching and moaning, favoring his own broken limbs.
"Die!"
TheFooFish let out a deranged howl and turned his bloodshot eyes around, flinging one of his arms in Sepiriel's direction, who was muttering his own hex-bind of counter logics and reverse reasoning. Something vicious warped through the intervening space between the two spellcasters and the air around Sepiriel imploded. There was a scream and Sepiriel was flung head over heels across the air to land onto the empty podium.
Dust swirled around in large volumes, as the rest began to lunge forward.
TheFooFish snarled challengingly at them.
Arcadic was the first to reach, the immortal's own eyes glowing bright. TheFooFish's own hands slashed upward, fingers twisting into complex gestures accompanied by a polysyllabic hum. Following immediately after was Arcadic's own counter-gestures, causing the eldritch energies to consume each other before any sort of coherent latticework of spell constructs could be erected. TheFooFish was only allowed a split second of stunned surprise before both of Arcadic's hands managed to clutch at TheFooFish's head.
"This ends here now."
Both spellcasters, locked in each other's struggling embrace, erupted into a violent cacophony of thundering flames and searing light. The massive backlash of energy instantly tore through what remained of the spell barrier, extinguishing the prison wards entirely as well as collapsing a major portion of the ceilings in the hall.
Naturally, there might have been lots of screaming involved.
~~~
“Everyone still alive?”
You coughed roughly, trying to clear your throat of the dust particles.
“Yes, even RafaelK.”
“Unfortunately.”
“I heard that!”
“Arcadic was gone though. Detonated himself to get rid of TheFooFish by the looks of it.”
“Not quite, gentlemen, it takes more than that to see me gone.”
“I think I hear a disembodied voice. Did I hear a disembodied voice?”
You let out a loud sigh.
“Yes.”
“Bah. One less good news then.”
“I will have you know I greatly resent that.”
“So, about that world-wide cooperation talk we were supposed to have? You know, before the Moderator and more than half of us decided to kill ourselves off?”
“...”
“...”
“Let’s find a more suitable place first.”
~~~
Congratulations to the Town for winning Conflux Mafia!
I must also profess my most ardent admiration for the efforts of both the Mafia as well as the Serial Killer in this game, and really hope that they will forgive me somewhat for being on the receiving end of such a landslide Town victory.
Endgame State
Name: Sepiriel Alignment: Town Title: The Grim Matriarch Domain: The Witches Covens numbered thirteen altogether and are the only practitioners of magic with the common touch among the local communities. Above all, they are tightly integrated into the lore and myths of the common folks. While familiars are still part of a witch’s image, black pointy hats have sadly fallen out of favor as a modern fashion sense. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Spell: Cackle of Crows Note: The screech of a thousand black avians tends to unnerve any sane individual. A spell of suggestion that mimic the exact same sound tends to have the same effect as the real thing and far more convenient as well. Who is going to bother gathering a thousand crows every night just to unnerve another person completely? Ability: Night, all of target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers gain the Exhausted status. Exhausted status gained this way will be removed at the end of Night.
~~~ Follower: The Black Cat (Exhausted) Note: There is power in beliefs and superstitions. Enough people believing in it will make it true. A black cat that crosses your path brings bad luck and must be avoided at all costs. Now if you have a black cat and then you set it free to run interference on your behalf, who would dare to stop you? Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Concurrent, Night, actions you use tonight cannot be prevented.
~~~ Follower: The Toad (Exhausted) Note: It stares at you with those potent bulbous eyes of it, unblinking unmoving unnerving. You move anywhere and those pair of bulging eyes follows you every step of the way, watching stalking judging. Suddenly spontaneous things feel like they last for an eternity and endlessly haunting you. Maybe you could try pointing those unsettling eyes at someone else? Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Concurrent, Night, actions you use tonight are going to be repeated automatically against the same player until the end of game.
~~~ Artifact: Stones of Communion Note: The Stones of Communion is a powerful communication relic that allows a group of people with similar goals to act in synch even under impossible situations. While the relic itself has a tendency to be attracted to the most influential person, it cannot be disabled until everyone originally linked to it is dead or the relic itself is destroyed. Ability: Mafia has daytalk. This Artifact will automatically be given to the player with the highest amount of total posts at the end of night.
Name: Arcadic Alignment: Town Title: The Lich Lord Domain: Necropolises are wasteland catacombs where the deads walk the earth and death is worshipped. In such unholy places, the living tread not and the sane utterly avoid. Yet, there is power in such a decay and your command of it is absolute. Such is your reign that even the grim reaper itself could only flail ineffectually at you. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Necronomicon Note: There is a legend of a book of power steeped in magic so vile and arts of death so horrifying that every practitioner of necromancy seeks for it. That book is known as the Necronomicon. This is not that book. This is a personal spellbook with the same name, no doubt hoping to cash in on the notorious fame. Ability: Linked to 3 Spells which can only be moved together with the Necronomicon.
~~~ Spell: Sojourn Note: This is a minor transportation spell that maintains a psychic link with the horrifying artifact known as the Phylactery. The link is so strong that this spell can literally move the artifact to whomever you so choose, including yourself. That is, if the artifact still exists and has yet to be destroyed for being what it is. Ability: Night, target player receives the Phylactery if it has yet to be discarded, no matter where it may be.
~~~ Spell: Blood Pact Note: Blood is the liquid of life. Freely given, it is an extremely potent healing component for potions and magical rituals. Forcibly given, it is no less potent in its intention to harm and subjugate another mortal being. This is the latter, for by invoking this ritual, you will gain great influence at the expense of another. Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player cannot vote and you gain an additional vote. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~ Spell: Soul Pact Note: How does one strengthen an immaterial insubstantial thing as a soul? The answer is at the expense of another soul of course. While one cannot measure the completeness of a single soul, a comparison can be done between two to determine their relative scales. Needless to say, this ritual degrades another soul to improve yours. Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player gains a Lynch threshold of -2 and you gain a Lynch threshold of +2. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~ Spell: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust Note: A suicide ritual, crude in its simplicity and potent in its application. A spell that outright kills is one of the most difficult to be crafted, and this spell solves the problem by extinguishing your own life force to reduce another to nothingness. For most people, it is a last resort ritual. For some, it is key to freedom. Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, sacrifice yourself to kill target player.
Name: Vampyr Alignment: Town Title: The Living Avatar Domain: You are the essence of a divinity that walks the land. Every word you spout is a new commandment. Every step you take is a place blessed. Your presence is so holy that cults sprang up around you and people are drawn to you in reverence. Some claimed you are a menace but going against you is suicide personified. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Spell: Divine Essence Note: If a soul is visible to mortal eyes, then this soul would shine with the brilliance of a thousand suns. And that is not a mere metaphor. If the essence of divinity is ever unleashed due to your death, there would be an explosion of light so vengeful that it will incinerate your killer. Ability: If you are killed by a Lynch, the player who hammered you dies. If you are killed by an action, the player who used that action on you dies.
~~~ Spell: Allure Note: So enticing is your presence that it is akin to a beacon that draws all moths to its flames. What more, were you to hone this charismatic appeal onto a single person, that person would be unable to resist you and desire to see you directly instead of whomever was in mind. Ability: Night, target player targets you tonight if able.
~~~ Follower: Attendant Note: A silent servant that tends to your every need, every desire, and every comfort. An obstructive second shadow tagging along behind you that fulfils your every wish. Extremely useful for mundane work but do not get your hope up for more advanced jobs. Money back not guaranteed since the service was offered free. Ability: None.
~~~ Artifact: Phylactery Note: It looks like an unbreakable crystal shard that pulses with an angry red light. It feels like a block of ice that drains all heat. It sounds like the flutter of wings trapped into a confined space. It is, without a single doubt, a container for a human soul. And you flinch from it in horror. Ability: Your Lynch threshold is -2.
~~~ Follower: Executioner Note: When the Executioner comes a calling, the Grim Reaper stalks the land. It has a gruff no-nonsense attitude, fantastic in its line of job, with the capacity to kill even the most powerful of individuals. Its term of contract only allows you a single kill however, and then it is off to vacation someplace with lots of alcohol. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player.
Name: atlseal Alignment: Town Title: The Prime Archivist Domain: The Repositories are knowledge centers located around the world housing not only books but artifacts of great power. They are the keepers of the lore and stories passed down through the generations, linking the past to the future. Within it, tens of thousands of scribes toil day and night just to record down everything in black and white. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Secret Script Note: How does one use an indestructible scrap of paper? There are probably more than a thousand uses, though more than half are most likely to be undignified. Still, it could be a valuable way to pass on information to another person and whether said information is misleading or not is of course entirely up to you. Ability: Transferable, any 4 words can be written on the Secret Script at any point of time. These 4 words can be rewritten again if you so wish. This information is not erased if the Secret Script is discarded. Message: Titles: 596, 692, 559
~~~ Artifact: Black Book Note: What the Eye sees, the Book knows. No Evil is concealed when the Eye watches. However, the book itself is a nondescript black, rather plain to the eyes. Perhaps you should emboss some silver letterings onto its covers and decorate its edges with golden motifs. It would certainly be less embarrassing when you flourish it around. Ability: Gives you the alignment of the current holder of Lidless Eye. This information is erased if the Black Book is discarded. Alignment: Mafia
~~~ Spell: Clandestine Note: Clandestine, also known as secret, underground, covert, concealed, stealthy, furtive, undercover, surreptitious, and dozens of other variants. Clandestine describes exactly the function of a spell that shifts an ever-knowing eye to another person with that person none the wiser about it. It is a spell with a very specific purpose but it serves that purpose well enough. Ability: Night, target player receives the Lidless Eye even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
Name: Axelrod (Vulnerability) Alignment: Town Title: The Sovereign Domain: The Sovereignty is the strongest among all the political domains in the world. And you rule it with an iron fist. Armies beckoned at your call. Thousands who opposed you die at your whim. Millions bow down to your every will. You should be recognized as such. And that is why you even deign to come. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Jade Flower Note: The emotion of fear was magically solidified and personified into the jade carving of a flower. It must have been crafted by an artificer with a terrible sense of irony. It is still a very powerful protective artifact, regardless of its design. It exudes such an intimidating and horrifying aura that most subversive attempts against you should fail. Ability: Transferable, your items cannot be copied, exchanged or stolen by other players.
~~~ Spell: Sanctuary Note: When all else is too much, you could invoke this incantation to feel safe and secure. It is a mental exercise translated into a spell and it only directly affects your mind, thus does not actually do anything to ward off Evil or protect you from harm. Still, it is the thoughts that count, right? Ability: None.
~~~ Follower: Political Aide Note: Many would say politics are far more lethal a field of war as compared to any others. But fear not for Aide is here. With its help, you would have a far greater influence to exert as compared to before. Alas, the Aide works on a contract by contract basis, and will not stay long under your service. Ability: Transferable, you have an additional vote.
Name: Magwald (Vulnerability) Alignment: Town Title: The Underbroker Domain: The Undercities are really just a series of interconnecting sewers and underground passages linking the major cities of the world. While some of these passages are physical in nature, the majority are magical. And within the bustling Undercities, black markets and illegal trades dominate every aspect of life. You could have anything in the world, with the correct price. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Follower: Devourer (Exhausted) Note: It is not a pet. The Devourer, as its name describes, is actually magical chimera that is capable of devouring a weakened being’s essence. When it latches on and makes a connection with its victim, it erects a stasis field that wards off everything. The tragic thing is that it only selectively devours a non-tainted essence. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, roleblock target player with Vulnerability status. That player cannot be targeted by any other actions tonight. Kill that player if the alignment is town.
~~~ Follower: Bouncer Note: It smacks its fist into its palm and leers at everyone that walks by. A total brute, with all muscles and no brain, but it serves its function rather well. It does have the propensity to go around at nights thrashing up any poor unfortunate souls whom it perceives to be weak and in need of a good beating. Ability: At the end of every Night, the living player with the least amount of total posts will gain Vulnerability status. This ability could be used repeatedly on the same player.
Name: RafaelK (Vulnerability) Alignment: Town Title: The Wanderer Domain: You are old, withered and ancient. Tales of your exploits are surrounded by myths and legends. Your name is invoked as both a protection and a curse. Adventuring is a terribly risky business. For you to have survived this long for so many decades, you are exceptionally good at what you do. And also extremely dangerous. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Red Baton Note: This weapon is not red. It gained the reputation of being red through the blood it has forced out of its victims over the centuries. And for a blunt stick to force out enough blood to gain such a reputation, well, the name speaks for itself. But such a draw to blood tends to compel the acts themselves. Ability: Night, kill a player every even night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~ Follower: Journeyman (Exhausted) Note: Every trade must be passed down through the generations, even dangerous ones. The Journeyman will learn your trade and then take your place one day in the cycle of life. Though for now, it is an extra useful body that just might take your place in the cycle of death. At least it makes itself useful. Ability: One-shot, you are protected automatically from a single non-lynch kill aimed at you.
Name: TheFooFish Alignment: Neutral Title: The First Arcanist Domain: Among the wizards, you are the One. The rank of the First Arcanist is the most prestigious among a large majority of magic practitioners, because it is recognized by every single world government. But absolute power corrupts absolutely, and why stops at First Arcanist when you could have the world in the palms of your hands? Win Condition: Be the only player alive.
~~~ Artifact: Seven Jewels Note: Despite such a fancy name, the artifact is just a circular metal plate crafted from reality alloy. However, along the edges are seven depressions, each fitted with a translucent disc that will only be lit with an inner glow as it absorbs a very potent life force that has to be snuffed out via unnatural means. Ability: You have an alternative win condition of gaining 7 charges for the Seven Jewels. Each charge can only be gained by killing another player via either an action or a hammer for a Lynch. Winning this way will remove you from the game to allow it to continue. Charges: 1
~~~ Spell: Quencher Note: Once used, the ritual compels. To take a life, you must devote yours. Quencher is the name of the spell that utilizes blunt trauma to literally quench the life force of another person, an assuredly most painful way to die. And you get to see blood fountains out of that person via blows dealt with magical sledgehammers. Ability: Night, kill a player every odd night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~ Spell: Interpretation Note: To know one’s opponents is to gain an advantage over them. Interpretation is an offensive divinatory magic designed to violate a person’s spirit and expose that person’s influence as it is. While not exactly a battle-mage’s offensive spell of choice, it is far more useful for a wizard who appreciates the finer arts of subtlety. Ability: Day, target player gains Vulnerability status. That player’s Title will be posted in the game thread. This ability may only be used every even day.
~~~ Follower: Seeker (Exhausted) Note: The Seeker is a very specific type of bounty hunter that sniffs out and hunts down one of the rarest and hardest to forge arcane metals in the world – the Reality Alloy. Artifacts crafted with it are downright esoteric or affect their surroundings in unexpected ways, thus making them valuable for true collectors and useless for everyone else. Ability: One-shot, Night, choose an Artifact crafted from reality alloy from among the following list: Ancient Pennant, Questing Gem, Seven Jewels. You will steal that Artifact even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
~~~ Artifact: Questing Gem Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however. Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
Name: creampuffeater Alignment: Town Title: The Director Domain: The Corporations operate with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine, all cold logic and data streaming in sequence. They serve as the technological hubs of the world, even dipping their hands into researches outright forbidden in every other field in the name of progress. There are whispers of many a missing person report being linked to them. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: The Monocle Note: It is big and round, with a golden frame to kill for and a capacity to glint off light in such a manner as to make you seem highly dangerous. You delighted in the fact that whenever you brought it out to use it, everyone else shuddered in fear of you. Tragically, its primary function is purely aesthetic. Ability: None.
~~~ Follower: Subject J Note: Highly dexterous and nimble, subject has been noted to be able to sneak past all securities guarding a certain position in order to determine all articles being held there. The ease in which it adapted to such a task suggested previous experience. May be pushed to obtain more information out of infiltration but will be rendered null after. Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Artifacts. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Artifacts and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
~~~ Follower: Subject K Note: Talented unnaturally so in mind infiltration, subject has a sight limitation and a working range of up to half a mile. A delicate procedure still in experimental stage, so restriction to casual brushing of thought surfaces is suggested for repeated usage. A more straining and deadly variant may dig out more conclusive results, though highly dangerous to subject. Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Spells and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
~~~ Follower: Subject T Note: Subject has been noted to have an almost unnatural sway with other people. Side effects of the combination of drugs and training has given it an almost hypnotic-like persuasion skill that has been confirmed to manipulate subconscious brainwaves of all living entities. Powers are still at preliminary stages and attempts to enhance them are ill-advised without further data. Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Followers. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Followers and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
Name: Sepiriel Alignment: Town Title: The Grim Matriarch Domain: The Witches Covens numbered thirteen altogether and are the only practitioners of magic with the common touch among the local communities. Above all, they are tightly integrated into the lore and myths of the common folks. While familiars are still part of a witch’s image, black pointy hats have sadly fallen out of favor as a modern fashion sense. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Spell: Cackle of Crows Note: The screech of a thousand black avians tends to unnerve any sane individual. A spell of suggestion that mimic the exact same sound tends to have the same effect as the real thing and far more convenient as well. Who is going to bother gathering a thousand crows every night just to unnerve another person completely? Ability: Night, all of target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers gain the Exhausted status. Exhausted status gained this way will be removed at the end of Night.
~~~ Follower: The Black Cat Note: There is power in beliefs and superstitions. Enough people believing in it will make it true. A black cat that crosses your path brings bad luck and must be avoided at all costs. Now if you have a black cat and then you set it free to run interference on your behalf, who would dare to stop you? Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Concurrent, Night, actions you use tonight cannot be prevented.
~~~ Follower: The Toad Note: It stares at you with those potent bulbous eyes of it, unblinking unmoving unnerving. You move anywhere and those pair of bulging eyes follows you every step of the way, watching stalking judging. Suddenly spontaneous things feel like they last for an eternity and endlessly haunting you. Maybe you could try pointing those unsettling eyes at someone else? Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Concurrent, Night, actions you use tonight are going to be repeated automatically against the same player until the end of game.
Name: desCoures Alignment: Town Title: The Guildmaster Domain: If there is power in numbers, then a guild would be the penultimate symbol of that power. The next logical step then would be the Workers Union, the ultimate incarnation where numbers are indeed strength, where all the guilds are combined into a single frightening mass of workers demanding their rights and going on strikes. Destruction is optional. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Crest of Conviction Note: A symbol of office where the faith of millions are placed onto your shoulders. With the heavy burden of such responsibility on your shoulders, how can you even fail? Or falter? Or even show the tiniest hint of weakness? For were you to fail, who else can these millions look up to? Ability: Transferable, you cannot gain Vulnerability status. Whenever you receive this, if you have Vulnerability status, remove the status.
~~~ Artifact: Ancient Ledger Note: A weathered yellowed script of ancient papers that looks set to crumble the moment someone breathes on it. As far as you can ascertain, it has a divinatory purpose though you doubt you should actually use it. Divination is a tricky business. What if the result stuns you so much that you accidentally destroys such a priceless antique? Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, you will be told the number of non-discarded items in the game with Exhausted and non-Exhausted given as separate numbers.
~~~ Spell: Secret Note: Being weak is not something one likes to air to the public. And a great many people would take great steps and lengths just to ensure that secret will be taken to their graves with them. But if you do not know where they are, how else can you help them? Unfortunately, this divinatory ritual is rather loud. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, reveal all players with Vulnerability status in the game thread.
~~~ Spell: Representative Note: When the weak falter, the strong shall rise in their stead. It does not really matter if the weak protest such a notion, for is it not the strong’s obligation to graciously guide them? This calling spell will immediately identify all the players afflicted with weakness and allow you to act on their behalf. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, all players with Vulnerability status will be informed of their loss of votes and you gain that many votes for the day.
Name: jskura Alignment: Town Title: The High Abbot Domain: The Iris Monasteries are sacred places that house the most exotic of all living creations, the Goo. From dawn to dusk, serenaded by thousands of soothing chants from the Monks, the hundreds of tiny multicolored bouncing blobs living there would preened excitedly at the attention they obtained from everyone, especially the tourists. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Follower: White Goo Note: Arguably the cutest among all species of Goo, there are tons of reports of a general sense of wellness and serenity when this Goo is staring at you with its cute little moist eyes that just seem to pummel whatever ill intents and harmful feelings you possess into submission and beyond. Ability: One-shot, Night, each player targeting you tonight will be protected from all kills.
~~~ Follower: Green Goo Note: The ultimate secret spy – tiny, cute, green, and bounce a lot. No one knows why but this species of Goo just excels at digging out dirt on people. In fact, there are rumors going around that it is the only Goo species being used in intelligence services. You didn’t hear that from us, of course. Ability: One-shot, Night, name of each player targeting you tonight will be revealed to you.
~~~ Follower: Black Goo Note: The ultimate watchdog, even more of a watchdog as compared to a real watchdog, this species of Goo is known to be extremely vigilant against any and all intruders attempting to invade its owner’s house. It is awfully unnerving when stumbling into a lightless area and seeing an entire wall of darkness blinking their eyes at you. Ability: One-shot, Night, each player targeting you tonight will be immune from all non-kill effects.
~~~ Follower: Red Goo Note: The most protective and violent among all species of Goo, it has an almost paranoid and psychopathic tendency towards whomever it perceived to be threatening against its owner. In all actuality, this is the only species of Goo with reports of lethal attacks against humans, a most surprising fact considering its physical attributes. Ability: One-shot, Night, each player killing you tonight will also die.
Name: Infinis Alignment: Town Title: The Keeper of Secrets Domain: There is a secret sect of magicians that live in the wilds, dedicating their lives to uncovering the truth of existence. Their communion with nature is so potent that nothing could be hidden or kept from their reach for long. Unfortunately, their secrecy is so paramount that everyone knows about the existence of the secret, if not its nature. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Orb of Whispers Note: If you whisper to the orb, it will whisper back to you. If you scream at the orb, it will still whisper back to you. It is a mysterious chrome orb that thrummed with power with each word exchanged. Every single past wielder of the orb has claimed that the whispers sometimes contain shards of truth. Ability: Night, name an Artifact, Spell or Follower. If it exists in the game, you will be told every detail pertaining to it.
~~~ Spell: Resonance Note: Morphological resonance of each artifact has a unique signature to it, unduplicated by any other means. However, if one is aware of such a fact, that signature resonance can be modulated carefully from another source to retrieve that artifact from its space-time position. Regrettably, such a morphological disorder destroys the structural integrity of the base artifact used. Ability: Night, name an Artifact. If it exists in the game and has yet to be discarded, discard an Artifact you own to steal the Artifact you have named, no matter where it may be.
Name: Arcadic Alignment: Town Title: The Lich Lord Domain: Necropolises are wasteland catacombs where the deads walk the earth and death is worshipped. In such unholy places, the living tread not and the sane utterly avoid. Yet, there is power in such a decay and your command of it is absolute. Such is your reign that even the grim reaper itself could only flail ineffectually at you. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Phylactery Note: It looks like an unbreakable crystal shard that pulses with an angry red light. It feels like a block of ice that drains all heat. It sounds like the flutter of wings trapped into a confined space. It is, without a single doubt, a container for a human soul. And you flinch from it in horror. Ability: Your Lynch threshold is -2.
~~~ Artifact: Necronomicon Note: There is a legend of a book of power steeped in magic so vile and arts of death so horrifying that every practitioner of necromancy seeks for it. That book is known as the Necronomicon. This is not that book. This is a personal spellbook with the same name, no doubt hoping to cash in on the notorious fame. Ability: Linked to 3 Spells which can only be moved together with the Necronomicon.
~~~ Spell: Sojourn Note: This is a minor transportation spell that maintains a psychic link with the horrifying artifact known as the Phylactery. The link is so strong that this spell can literally move the artifact to whomever you so choose, including yourself. That is, if the artifact still exists and has yet to be destroyed for being what it is. Ability: Night, target player receives the Phylactery if it has yet to be discarded, no matter where it may be.
~~~ Spell: Blood Pact Note: Blood is the liquid of life. Freely given, it is an extremely potent healing component for potions and magical rituals. Forcibly given, it is no less potent in its intention to harm and subjugate another mortal being. This is the latter, for by invoking this ritual, you will gain great influence at the expense of another. Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player cannot vote and you gain an additional vote. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~ Spell: Soul Pact Note: How does one strengthen an immaterial insubstantial thing as a soul? The answer is at the expense of another soul of course. While one cannot measure the completeness of a single soul, a comparison can be done between two to determine their relative scales. Needless to say, this ritual degrades another soul to improve yours. Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player gains a Lynch threshold of -2 and you gain a Lynch threshold of +2. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~ Spell: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust Note: A suicide ritual, crude in its simplicity and potent in its application. A spell that outright kills is one of the most difficult to be crafted, and this spell solves the problem by extinguishing your own life force to reduce another to nothingness. For most people, it is a last resort ritual. For some, it is key to freedom. Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, sacrifice yourself to kill target player.
Private Info: As long as your Phylactery hasn’t been discarded, you will be able to post even after death but not vote.
Name: Vampyr Alignment: Town Title: The Living Avatar Domain: You are the essence of a divinity that walks the land. Every word you spout is a new commandment. Every step you take is a place blessed. Your presence is so holy that cults sprang up around you and people are drawn to you in reverence. Some claimed you are a menace but going against you is suicide personified. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Spell: Divine Essence Note: If a soul is visible to mortal eyes, then this soul would shine with the brilliance of a thousand suns. And that is not a mere metaphor. If the essence of divinity is ever unleashed due to your death, there would be an explosion of light so vengeful that it will incinerate your killer. Ability: If you are killed by a Lynch, the player who hammered you dies. If you are killed by an action, the player who used that action on you dies.
~~~ Spell: Allure Note: So enticing is your presence that it is akin to a beacon that draws all moths to its flames. What more, were you to hone this charismatic appeal onto a single person, that person would be unable to resist you and desire to see you directly instead of whomever was in mind. Ability: Night, target player targets you tonight if able.
~~~ Follower: Attendant Note: A silent servant that tends to your every need, every desire, and every comfort. An obstructive second shadow tagging along behind you that fulfils your every wish. Extremely useful for mundane work but do not get your hope up for more advanced jobs. Money back not guaranteed since the service was offered free. Ability: None.
Name: DYH Alignment: Town Title: The Merchant Prince Domain: The Merchant Guilds are a force to be reckoned with due to the amount of wealth they command. If there are clinks of gold to be heard, rest assured their influence will be keenly felt there. It is a pity among people equally wealthy but with far more authority, you are relegated to a less prestigious position. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Ring of Command Note: A beautiful golden ring inlaid with rubies around it is certainly a sight to behold. All the rubies seem to glow with an inner light when the ring was kissed, giving hints as to its magical nature. The ring houses an elemental servant of the air that will serve its master’s every command. Ability: Linked to 1 Follower which can only be moved together with the Ring of Command.
~~~ Artifact: Chest of Gold Note: Drop a chest of gold into someone’s lap and that lap is probably crushed if said someone is a normal mortal. But that aside, that much amount of gold is not something to be brushed aside casually. It could even be used to bribe anyone away from their former master to serve you. Ability: Night, giving Chest of Gold to target player will steal for you all Followers that player owns at the end of night.
~~~ Follower: Djinn Note: A djinn of the ring is a creature out of myths that will reluctantly serve the whims of its master. While those same myths portrayed these djinns as creatures with insidious cunning or malicious wit, the one you control is little more than a mindless magical summon that bends to your will easily enough. Ability: Linked to Ring of Command, Night, track target player.
Name: Wolf with a Bass Alignment: Town Title: The Monarch Domain: The Monarchy is one of the major political powers in the world. It is also the most ancient and longest lasting of all established political realms, richly steeped in cultural history and traditions. For those more informed, it is also the place where one is most likely to obtain esoteric items as well as obscure rituals. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Insignia of the Wind Note: For something called Insignia of the Wind, it is neither an insignia nor has it anything to do with the wind. Still, it is an artifact of potent power, able to reduce the probability of death occurring to a single person. Repeated usage on the same person has been noted to increase said probability however, so caution is advised. Ability: Night, protect target player without Vulnerability status from all kills. If the protected player is the target of a kill, that player will gain Vulnerability status instead of dying. If instead, target player has Vulnerability status, kill that player.
~~~ Spell: Sanctification Note: This is a spell ritual known only to a select few. While it doesn’t mend the body or heal the bones and thus of less interest to those pursuing the noble arts of healing, it does one thing remarkably well. It strengthens both the mind and the soul, two rather insubstantial attributes to most people. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, remove Vulnerability status from target player.
Name: Wrath of Dog Alignment: Town Title: The Oracle Domain: Above the highest peak under the sea of stars stand the Observatories, a place of worship to the Sight as well as a center of learning on the movement of heavens. So profound was their understanding of the charts of fates that they are often sought out whenever great world events occur, calamitous or otherwise. WinCondition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Questing Gem Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however. Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
~~~ Spell: Mindsight Note: A very powerful invasionary mind magic that duplicates the exact workings of another spell right out of an unwilling mind. The incantations to initiate this magic is very exhaustive however to both magical reserve and strength, and will most likely kill you if not enough time has passed in between casting to recuperate both. Ability: One-shot, Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. If that player has any Spell, you gain a copy of that Spell permanently. If that player has more than one Spells, you gain a copy of one of those Spells of your choice permanently.
Name: atlseal Alignment: Town Title: The Prime Archivist Domain: The Repositories are knowledge centers located around the world housing not only books but artifacts of great power. They are the keepers of the lore and stories passed down through the generations, linking the past to the future. Within it, tens of thousands of scribes toil day and night just to record down everything in black and white. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Secret Script Note: How does one use an indestructible scrap of paper? There are probably more than a thousand uses, though more than half are most likely to be undignified. Still, it could be a valuable way to pass on information to another person and whether said information is misleading or not is of course entirely up to you. Ability: Transferable, any 4 words can be written on the Secret Script at any point of time. These 4 words can be rewritten again if you so wish. This information is not erased if the Secret Script is discarded. Message: Super Sneaky Secret Script
~~~ Artifact: Black Book Note: What the Eye sees, the Book knows. No Evil is concealed when the Eye watches. However, the book itself is a nondescript black, rather plain to the eyes. Perhaps you should emboss some silver letterings onto its covers and decorate its edges with golden motifs. It would certainly be less embarrassing when you flourish it around. Ability: Gives you the alignment of the current holder of Lidless Eye. This information is erased if the Black Book is discarded. Alignment: Town
~~~ Artifact: Lidless Eye Note: It is a piece of marble, carved in the likeness of a lidless eye. An exquisite craftsmanship to be certain. Almost certainly going to be worth a lot, judging from the way the almost lifelike eye seems to follow your every move. But closer inspection reveals that alas, it is as non-magical as it can be. Ability: None.
~~~ Spell: Clandestine Note: Clandestine, also known as secret, underground, covert, concealed, stealthy, furtive, undercover, surreptitious, and dozens of other variants. Clandestine describes exactly the function of a spell that shifts an ever-knowing eye to another person with that person none the wiser about it. It is a spell with a very specific purpose but it serves that purpose well enough. Ability: Night, target player receives the Lidless Eye even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
Name: Axelrod Alignment: Town Title: The Sovereign Domain: The Sovereignty is the strongest among all the political domains in the world. And you rule it with an iron fist. Armies beckoned at your call. Thousands who opposed you die at your whim. Millions bow down to your every will. You should be recognized as such. And that is why you even deign to come. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Jade Flower Note: The emotion of fear was magically solidified and personified into the jade carving of a flower. It must have been crafted by an artificer with a terrible sense of irony. It is still a very powerful protective artifact, regardless of its design. It exudes such an intimidating and horrifying aura that most subversive attempts against you should fail. Ability: Transferable, your items cannot be copied, exchanged or stolen by other players.
~~~ Spell: Sanctuary Note: When all else is too much, you could invoke this incantation to feel safe and secure. It is a mental exercise translated into a spell and it only directly affects your mind, thus does not actually do anything to ward off Evil or protect you from harm. Still, it is the thoughts that count, right? Ability: None.
~~~ Follower: Executioner Note: When the Executioner comes a calling, the Grim Reaper stalks the land. It has a gruff no-nonsense attitude, fantastic in its line of job, with the capacity to kill even the most powerful of individuals. Its term of contract only allows you a single kill however, and then it is off to vacation someplace with lots of alcohol. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player.
Name: Magwald Alignment: Town Title: The Underbroker Domain: The Undercities are really just a series of interconnecting sewers and underground passages linking the major cities of the world. While some of these passages are physical in nature, the majority are magical. And within the bustling Undercities, black markets and illegal trades dominate every aspect of life. You could have anything in the world, with the correct price. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Spell: Tinker and Tools Note: An enchantment that cycles the state of an existence back to a previous state. Due to the chaotic nature of temporal magic, spells like this are severely regulated and restricted. There is no denying that if such an enchantment is properly applied, the benefits could be tremendous. Alas, some people are not interested in only benefits. Ability: Transferable, Discard, Night, remove all Exhausted status from target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers.
~~~ Follower: Devourer Note: It is not a pet. The Devourer, as its name describes, is actually magical chimera that is capable of devouring a weakened being’s essence. When it latches on and makes a connection with its victim, it erects a stasis field that wards off everything. The tragic thing is that it only selectively devours a non-tainted essence. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, roleblock target player with Vulnerability status. That player cannot be targeted by any other actions tonight. Kill that player if the alignment is town.
~~~ Follower: Bouncer Note: It smacks its fist into its palm and leers at everyone that walks by. A total brute, with all muscles and no brain, but it serves its function rather well. It does have the propensity to go around at nights thrashing up any poor unfortunate souls whom it perceives to be weak and in need of a good beating. Ability: At the end of every Night, the living player with the least amount of total posts will gain Vulnerability status. This ability could be used repeatedly on the same player.
Name: Rafaelk Alignment: Town Title: The Wanderer Domain: You are old, withered and ancient. Tales of your exploits are surrounded by myths and legends. Your name is invoked as both a protection and a curse. Adventuring is a terribly risky business. For you to have survived this long for so many decades, you are exceptionally good at what you do. And also extremely dangerous. Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~ Artifact: Red Baton Note: This weapon is not red. It gained the reputation of being red through the blood it has forced out of its victims over the centuries. And for a blunt stick to force out enough blood to gain such a reputation, well, the name speaks for itself. But such a draw to blood tends to compel the acts themselves. Ability: Night, kill a player every even night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~ Follower: Journeyman Note: Every trade must be passed down through the generations, even dangerous ones. The Journeyman will learn your trade and then take your place one day in the cycle of life. Though for now, it is an extra useful body that just might take your place in the cycle of death. At least it makes itself useful. Ability: One-shot, you are protected automatically from a single non-lynch kill aimed at you.
The five of you have entered into a Pact of Understanding, bounded by necessity, blood and magic. While each of you is a power in your own right, you are not that delusional as to believe you could take on nineteen other people as equally powerful and influential by yourself, if not more so. And while you appreciate the noble goals of the assemblage, you believe that the incoming threat is not as dire as it seemed. But there is an opportunity here, and you have managed to dig out four other individuals of similar minds and understanding on the way how things should work. And the Pact was forged.
The same Pact has given you the ability to communicate with each other during Night right here. In addition, as long as the Artifact known as the Stones of Communion has yet to be discarded, the range of communication is extended to Day as well.
Finally, under the obligation of the Pact, one of you may perform a mafiakill each Night in place of an action. Sneaking is involved as you don’t want to tip your hand too early when the other side has a numerical superiority. But when your side have achieved a numerical superiority, this sneaking about business is certainly going to end and you all can move in for the final kill.
Name: dropkickdude Alignment: Mafia Title: The Dark Patriarch Domain: Assassination is an art of the greatest finesse. The amount of discipline it requires. The knowledge of the blades unparallel to any others. The mindset honed to such perfection. The stench of blood pervades every breath. The cloak of shadows wrapped like a second skin. The lives extinguished without a single blink. That is the creed. Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~ Spell: Decree Note: The blade struck; therefore the heart must have been pierced. This highly dangerous spell reverses the laws of causality so that the reverse is true. The heart pierced; therefore the blade must have struck. The act of killing is a mere formality as the blade had already pierced the heart even before the attack was initiated. Ability: Concurrent, Night, all kills targeting the player with the least amount of total posts cannot be prevented.
~~~ Spell: Shade Note: This ritual manipulates the shadows inherent in all things to seal the things themselves partially out of synch with the rest of the world. This causes the identification of those things near impossible until a sufficient enough time has passed for the effects of the ritual to unravel themselves. The beauty here is that the caster is not affected. Ability: One-shot, Concurrent, Night, all items on targeted player that died tonight will only be revealed to you and not to the game thread.
Name: RobRoy Alignment: Mafia Title: The Divine Voice Domain: The Holy Tabernacles are the voices of heavens, linking the hope and prayers of the billions to the Divinities above. With such an encompassing grip upon the entire world’s faith and belief, they are a power in their own right, and one that equally affects the common folk as well as the upper classes. Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~ Spell: Pillars Note: This is a prayer invoking the might of a Divine, casting a single person within a column of invisible light so intense it feels almost solid. Within the active duration, the person is protected from all lethal harm but also unable to affect the outside world. To prevent panic and hysteria, that person’s consciousness is forcibly blanked out. Ability: Night, protect target player from all kills. That player is prevented from using any actions. The targeted player cannot be you.
~~~ Spell: Silver Mark Note: A cantrip invocation that blesses another person from all danger and harm. While it originates from a midwife’s repertoire of folk charms and minor remedies, this particular cantrip’s power has been seriously augmented to the extent of being able to ward off anything that would outright kill. Alas, such a boost reduces its effective length. Ability: Transferable,One-shot, Night, protect target player.
~~~ Follower: Fanatic Note: The best type of follower to have around is one that would be willing to die for you. A much better one is one that would be willing to kill for you. This particular follower is so devoted to Light that it is willing to kill only those whom it perceived to be Evil or weak. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player. This is only successful if target player is non-town or has Vulnerability status.
Name: Shalako Alignment: Mafia Title: The Emperor Domain: The lineage of the Emperors is the birthright of Heavens, with each successive holder of the Golden Throne anointed by the Mandate handed down from fathers to sons, unbroken through the generations. Their blood is divine and their rule absolute. Long live the Empire, most sacred of kingdoms, and may their blood hold true and pure for all eternity. Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~ Artifact: Stones of Communion Note: The Stones of Communion is a powerful communication relic that allows a group of people with similar goals to act in synch even under impossible situations. While the relic itself has a tendency to be attracted to the most influential person, it cannot be disabled until everyone originally linked to it is dead or the relic itself is destroyed. Ability: Mafia has daytalk. This Artifact will automatically be given to the player with the highest amount of total posts at the end of night.
~~~ Artifact: Mandate of Heaven Note: This perfectly circular white disc symbolizes the favor of Heavens upon you, rendering you entirely immune to whatever machinations that may be done covertly against you. Legends passed down from the lore state that it was crafted from the scales of a white dragon, slain by the first owner of the Mandate of Heaven. Ability: All actions performed upon you will fail.
~~~ Follower: Spymaster Note: Sometimes, circumstances dictate that your allies must be protected as well. So while the Mandate of Heaven may or may not be yours, it would serve a greater good in someone else’s hands for a while. This is where the Spymaster comes in. Though of course, when said circumstances have passed, the Mandate must be returned to you. Ability: One-shot, Night, target player receives the Mandate of Heaven if it has yet to be discarded, no matter where it may be. At the end of night, Mandate of Heaven will be returned to you if it has yet to be discarded.
~~~ Follower: Thousand-Face Servant Note: A most skillful servant, it is a master of disguises with a thousand faces. So adept is it in the arts of mimicry that it can become anyone of any talent and training. Though to fully immerse itself into such a deception, it must abandon all pretenses of its original nature, and that can be difficult to return from. Ability: One-shot, Discard, Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Followers. If that player has any Follower, you gain a copy of that Follower permanently. If that player has more than one Followers, you gain a copy of one of those Followers of your choice permanently.
Private Info: Thousand-Face Servant cannot be used to copy any Aide.
~~~ Artifact: Talisman Note: It is a short strip of paper inscribed with sigils and runes of power. Very traditional. Very potent. Almost certainly going to do something. That is what you believed anyway, judging from the instructions jotted on it. Whisper a name to it and the Talisman’s power will burn up, together with the functionality of the named article. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, name a one-shot Artifact, Spell or Follower without the Used status. If it exists in the game, it gains the Exhausted status.
~~~ Spell: Solemn Vow Note: Among the most important of unspoken vows between craftsmen is the vow of brotherhood and kinship. This is the bond forged through the same profession, of an understanding based in the similar dangers, hardships and trials that have to be endured. That one would not take advantage of each other but will still come to the other’s aid. Ability: An aide’s primary ability is nullified in your presence. Night, name an Aide. It will be returned to you at the end of Night if it has yet to be discarded.
~~~ Follower: Tactical Aide Note: In the battlefield of military war as well as those of political nature, the Tactical Aide offers advices and suggestions that will both lengthen your lifespan and career. When its contract with you has ended however, at a time when the Aide deems fit, it will leave your service for another. Ability: Transferable, your Lynch threshold is +1.
~~~ Follower: Political Aide Note: Many would say politics are far more lethal a field of war as compared to any others. But fear not for Aide is here. With its help, you would have a far greater influence to exert as compared to before. Alas, the Aide works on a contract by contract basis, and will not stay long under your service. Ability: Transferable, you have an additional vote.
Private Info: By “your presence”, it means everyone on your team.
Name: AlphaInsidious Alignment: Mafia Title: The Pirate King Domain: Standing in the crow’s nest of your main warship, you looked out over your world. A violent vista of blue topped with frothing waves, ripped through by a fleet of warships with flocks of seagulls and schools of dolphins as constant companions. And you see a dream of gold and gems and ale and blades and blood overflowing. Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~ Artifact: Spyglass Note: A simple enough equipment, made from a series of interlocking metal tubes inserted with focusing lenses. It can be used to observe someone from far away without that person ever noticing, though more information might be gained if the person you are observing is careless enough not to cover its own tracks. Ability: Night, watch target player. If that player has Vulnerability status, then watch and track instead.
~~~ Artifact: Ancient Pennant Note: A truly beautiful creation, it was crafted using reality alloy as the core and entwining it with the magical distillation of the aspect of dread. Even when it remains hidden from sight, the emotional emanations it exudes washes all with a general sense of unease. It will only truly affect those weak of mind and spirit of course. Ability: All players with Vulnerability status have a Lynch threshold of -1.
~~~ Follower: Sellsword Note: You have a mercenary under your hire although it has made it clear it will not kill for you. A mercenary with a sense of honor. You almost rolled your eyes at that but you didn’t, since that can be rather undignified. Still, you have paid so you might as well have some use out of it. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, target player gains Vulnerability status.
~~~~~
Name: TheFooFish Alignment: Neutral Title: The First Arcanist Domain: Among the wizards, you are the One. The rank of the First Arcanist is the most prestigious among a large majority of magic practitioners, because it is recognized by every single world government. But absolute power corrupts absolutely, and why stops at First Arcanist when you could have the world in the palms of your hands? Win Condition: Be the only player alive.
~~~ Artifact: Seven Jewels Note: Despite such a fancy name, the artifact is just a circular metal plate crafted from reality alloy. However, along the edges are seven depressions, each fitted with a translucent disc that will only be lit with an inner glow as it absorbs a very potent life force that has to be snuffed out via unnatural means. Ability: You have an alternative win condition of gaining 7 charges for the Seven Jewels. Each charge can only be gained by killing another player via either an action or a hammer for a Lynch. Winning this way will remove you from the game to allow it to continue. Charges: 0
~~~ Spell: Quencher Note: Once used, the ritual compels. To take a life, you must devote yours. Quencher is the name of the spell that utilizes blunt trauma to literally quench the life force of another person, an assuredly most painful way to die. And you get to see blood fountains out of that person via blows dealt with magical sledgehammers. Ability: Night, kill a player every odd night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~ Spell: Interpretation Note: To know one’s opponents is to gain an advantage over them. Interpretation is an offensive divinatory magic designed to violate a person’s spirit and expose that person’s influence as it is. While not exactly a battle-mage’s offensive spell of choice, it is far more useful for a wizard who appreciates the finer arts of subtlety. Ability: Day, target player gains Vulnerability status. That player’s Title will be posted in the game thread. This ability may only be used every even day.
~~~ Follower: Seeker Note: The Seeker is a very specific type of bounty hunter that sniffs out and hunts down one of the rarest and hardest to forge arcane metals in the world – the Reality Alloy. Artifacts crafted with it are downright esoteric or affect their surroundings in unexpected ways, thus making them valuable for true collectors and useless for everyone else. Ability: One-shot, Night, choose an Artifact crafted from reality alloy from among the following list: Ancient Pennant, Questing Gem, Seven Jewels. You will steal that Artifact even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
You invoked the inner enchantment of the Secret Script and peered down at the words that reformed on it with satisfaction.

Secret Script now has the following: Message: I had 4 items
Subject T's head cocked to the side as if listening to something in the distant. Then without nary a sound, it slipped out of your sight. You adjusted your monocle and settled down to wait.

Moments later, the Subject reappeared by your side and nodded.
Your finger deliberately stopped tapping against the desk.
A series of names was whispered in your ear.

Your subordinates were out there somewhere, making themselves scarce when you needed them not.
In retrospect, it might have been better were they to stick around.
You lay on the ground, wounded and pained, in a quiet dark corner of the hall, barely conscious and coherent of your surroundings.
Minutes earlier, you were ambushed by a swordsman, who smacked you around with the flat of its blade. While he took care to actually not kill you, he left you sufficiently damaged enough that you wished you were dead.
That was minutes earlier.
As of right now, hovering above you is another person. A crazed one this time, judging by the looks on its face. It screamed some sort of obscenities that you couldn’t catch in your weakened state, before proceeding to grasp your neck with both its hands.
There was a choking sensation.
There was a struggle for breaths.
And then there was a darkness filled with regrets.
~~~
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
You are dead.
If you are interested in the google spectator group, please give me an email that I can add into the group.
Your fingers picked at the air, moving in sequence to a tune only you could hear.
At the far end of the hall, desCoures seemed startled and suddenly discomfited by something. He kept clawing at his ears in irritation and looked around for its source.
You blew him a kiss in evil delight, not that he noticed it in his sudden onslaught by a pandemonium only he could hear.
~~~
You have successfully used Cackle of Crows on desCoures.
Birds were cawing everywhere. Around you. Within you. Reverberating through your skulls like a thousand avian gone mad.
You looked around wildly, trying to locate the source of the madness. Around you, everyone else didn’t seem to hear a single thing. It appeared to affect only you.
Even as you were attempting to claw out your ears, you wondered whether you had gone mad.
Moving around aimlessly trying to determine what the heck had happened, you stumbled upon another person. Good. Someone you could hopefully rely on to help you figure this madness out. The request for help died soundlessly on your lips even as a blade was rammed through the front of your throat to exit out from the other side.
Suddenly the highly irritating cawing of birds didn’t seem so irritating anymore.

All of your items have gained the Exhausted status for the night only.

You gripped the Orb within your hands and shook it in dismal. The lights within flickered uncertainly even after half a dozen times of you whispering “Aides” to it. In the end, you resorted to shouting at it, but the result was the same. After a few minutes more, the lights within winked out decisively and its message imparted into your head with no uncertain term that what you were looking for did not exist.
~~~
The Orb of Whispers informed you that there is no item known as “Aides” in the game.
You nearly sputtered in astonishment.
Shalako was in your line of sight. By all accounts, it should have been an easy task to invoke the spell successfully.
But.
It.
Failed.
There was something intangible preventing the spell from latching onto Shalako, despite the tremendous amount of power you put into it. The spell simply rebounded and dissipated into thin air.
You would have furrowed your brows were you still had any left.
~~~
You have failed to use Sojourn on Shalako.
Your presence beckoned like a living flame to the moth that is atlseal. His gaze seemed irresistibly locked onto you; his eyes slightly dazed. You suppressed a forming smirk and sashayed away to the side, knowing full well his every thought was on you.
It was while you were about to sit down that you noticed an additional artifact on your presence that you have never seen before. Curious, you picked it up to examine it, though it didn’t seem to be anything special.
~~~
You have successfully used Allure on atlseal.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Lidless Eye Note: It is a piece of marble, carved in the likeness of a lidless eye. An exquisite craftsmanship to be certain. Almost certainly going to be worth a lot, judging from the way the almost lifelike eye seems to follow your every move. But closer inspection reveals that alas, it is as non-magical as it can be. Ability: None.
A wisp of smoke flitted by your ear.
There was an echo of things ancient and forgotten.
You shook your head in irritation.
The same wisp seemed to sigh before echoing of its journey to follow one Arcadic. Apparently said person of interest was interested in another person as well.
You waved your hand in acknowledgment of a task performed admirably, and the wind whispered no more.
~~~
You have successfully used Djinn on Arcadic: Arcadic targeted Shalako for the night.
The artifact glowed in accordance to your thoughts as you moved your hands over it.
A likeness of Magwald was formed within the artifact itself even as you thought of him, before dispersing outward in a silent puff of air that seemed to extinguish both the glows as well as the image.
After a moment, a single spark of light appeared within the artifact as the recharge began anew.
The established bond for the night with Magwald felt amiable, leading you to believe that the protection was successfully established at least. Though whether it would be useful or not, you could tell not.
~~~
You have successfully used Insignia of the Wind on Magwald.
You eyed the Questing Gem critically.
It was giving you the impression of the number 6 in response to the inquiry you just sent into it.
Not that you were surprised. A conspiracy of this magnitude requires several people working in concert after all. Your own divinatory nature was reinforcing the notion that it was an accurate answer as any when the first blow struck.
Your head flinched to the side. Blood was dripping down the side your head in a steady stream that covered one of your eyes. Then another blow struck you; this time in your solar plexus. You let out a pained moan and collapsed to the floor. Another one. A sharp crack was heard as one of your arms twisted at an unnatural angle. One more. You crashed to the floor listlessly, your crushed throat gurgling as red fluid began filling it. And another. And another. And another. And another.
You weren’t even aware when you stopped caring in a haze of red and pain.
~~~
The Questing Gem informed you the number “6” in response to the question “How many players with only anti-town win conditions are currently alive?”
You are dead.
If you are interested in the google spectator group, please give me an email that I can add into the group.
Your mind was in a haze.
You simply couldn’t get Vampyr out of your mind. In fact, even as you stared down at your hands in wonderment and curiosity at the mere existence of Vampyr, you realized that the spell you had just casted was probably intended for someone else and not glorious Vampyr.
In your hazy admiration however, the book in your hands began to change its content to… the same as its previous.

You arched up your brow in amusement and pleasant surprise. Your fingers tapped the side of your head in contemplation at the scene in front of you.
A figure bowed deeply in respect, offering his highly specialized service to you.
You graciously accepted the offer. Your reputation could only grow with such a valuable aid.
~~~
You have gained the following item:
Follower: Political Aide Note: Many would say politics are far more lethal a field of war as compared to any others. But fear not for Aide is here. With its help, you would have a far greater influence to exert as compared to before. Alas, the Aide works on a contract by contract basis, and will not stay long under your service. Ability: Transferable, you have an additional vote.
Your eyes glared coldly at your subordinate, who sheepishly mimed pummeling someone with its fists and muttered a name.
As your glare continued unabated, it leered back with a shrug and wandered off.
Apparently, these courteous nightly visits were not going to end any time soon.
~~~
You have successfully used Bouncer on AlphaInsidious.
It was a busy period.
Invoking the spell that reversed the laws of causality was a tricky business and while you have no control over its recipient, the spell was sufficiently powerful and useful enough that you believed you could risk it anyway.
Still, that could not compare to the thrill of stalking a prey through the open spaces of the hallways, in the midst of so many people milling about, with none of them the wiser about it.
So, when you found desCoures walking around, seemingly suitably distracted, you hesitated none at all and just plunged the blade into his throat and out of the other side.
It was a clean stroke.
And the blood spilled was minimal.
Before desCoures collapsed to the floor, you were already gone from the vicinity.
~~~
You have successfully used Decree on creampuffeater.
You have successfully killed desCoures.
It believed in you with a religious fervor.
All you needed to do was to guide it by its shoulder and pointed to creampuffeater wandering around like he owned the place.
In the span of a second, it darted forward, mouth frothing at the edges and eyes tinged with zealous madness.
You didn’t even bother to follow up.
It came back entirely too pleased for the result to have been otherwise.
~~~
You have successfully used Fanatic on creampuffeater.
Fanatic has gained the Exhausted status.
It was a request from one brother-in-arms to another.
It was all very efficient. No hassle. No complaints. Only understanding.
Within minutes, it had already packed up and left to serve another.
~~~
You have successfully transferred Political Aide to Axelrod.
The swordsman tipped its hat in acknowledgement at your order and left. Time to wait then.
When it came back, it told you bluntly that the contract had been fulfilled and no further work would be done to serve you. You frowned at the audacity of the tone. When all of this was over, perhaps you should see to throwing said swordsman to the sharks or something. Let it regretted ever offending you.
Still, it was a job well done, and you dismissed him as thus. Perhaps you shouldn’t have been too hasty in doing that though since the moment you turned around, you came face to face with a hulking brute.
It leered at you. Then it punched your face. Very hard. There were some repetitive motions involved, though you be damned if you could recall it over the haze of pain and bruises. In fact, you didn’t ever recall being bashed up that bad. When the brute finally left, you were a wreck.
But still you lived.
You have successfully used Sellsword on creampuffeater.
Sellsword has gained the Exhausted status.
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
Finding Wrath of DoG was the easy part. Waiting till he was alone was the difficult part.
Still, that moment did arrive, and that was when you struck with your spell.
He looked stunned at the first blow dealt to his head, and tried to blink away the blood flowing down his face in a steady stream. Then the spell triggered the subsequent blows and it was a glorious sight.
There were muffled screams. And the sounds of bones being broken. And the spurts of red that flew freely. And the mangling of flesh and everything that was once Wrath of DoG. At the end of it, there was only a pile of reddish mess on the floor, surrounded by a pool of blood.
In your grasp, one of the translucent discs on the artifact turned blood red in approval.
You have successfully used Quencher on Wrath of DoG.
Seven Jewels has gained the following Charges: 1
The Servant moved quietly through the halls, mingling among the occupants and smiling with dozens of different personalities.
Thousand-Face Servant has gained the Exhausted status.
Thousand-Face Servant has been discarded.
You have gained the following item:
Follower: Bouncer Note: It smacks its fist into its palm and leers at everyone that walks by. A total brute, with all muscles and no brain, but it serves its function rather well. It does have the propensity to go around at nights thrashing up any poor unfortunate souls whom it perceives to be weak and in need of a good beating. Ability: At the end of every Night, the living player with the least amount of total posts will gain Vulnerability status. This ability could be used repeatedly on the same player.
A breath.
A whisper.
A focusing of will.
And you stared intently at Magwald as the result unfolded.
You have successfully used Interpretation on Magwald.
You struggled for breath.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Something had irrevocably changed within you.
You feel violated and exposed.
You feel weak and dirty.
You feel vulnerable.
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
Your attention partially on the arguments still being debated, you frowned thoughtfully and made another arcane tweak to the Script's message.
~~~
Secret Script now has the following Message: Titles: 596 1239
You snapped your fingers theatrically. Not that it was needed, mind you, but you just felt that it was appropriate.
And this time there was no hazy sensation. Only crystal clear thoughts as you magically shifted the Lidless Eye to another of your peers.
And in response to your spell, the book shifted its content to exactly the same word. Well, you thought rather disappointedly, that was rather unexciting.

You have successfully used Clandestine on Rafaelk.
The Black Book now has the following Alignment: Town
Fantastic charisma. Check.

Arcadic drooling slightly, staring at you. Uber-creepy. Better get out of sight while you could.
You absent-mindedly traced the Lidless Eye artifact that you have secreted into one of your pockets, only to discover that it was gone. You frowned. There was a new one there though. You took it out to examine it carefully, and recoiled in shock.
~~~
You have successfully used Allure on Arcadic.
You have lost the artifact known as Lidless Eye.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Phylactery Note: It looks like an unbreakable crystal shard that pulses with an angry red light. It feels like a block of ice that drains all heat. It sounds like the flutter of wings trapped into a confined space. It is, without a single doubt, a container for a human soul. And you flinch from it in horror. Ability: Your Lynch threshold is -2.
With a flourish of its hat, the Seeker presented to you your heart’s desire.
With confidence, the Seeker assured you that none noticed it took the Questing Gem.
With a smirk, the Seeker took its leave of you, to continue enjoying the unfolding drama that was yet to come.
~~~
You have successfully used Seeker on Questing Gem.
Seeker has gained the Exhausted status.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Questing Gem Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however. Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
You wiped the drool from your mouth and blinked. There was something you planned to do.
You… yes… Vampyr… Wait.
You shook your head to clear the haze and frowned. You wanted to use Sojourn on Sepiriel, not Vampyr!
But still, you let out a sigh of admiration. Vampyr was such a wondrous glorious being that you couldn’t stop… Vampyr… drool…
~~~
You have failed to use Sojourn on Sepiriel.
You have successfully used Sojourn on Vampyr.
You have lost the artifact known as Phylactery.
One of your hands stroked The Toad carefully, which was warbling in tune to your caress. The other picked at the air, weaving another melody known only to you.
dropkickdude just gazed lifelessly at something in the far corner. The only response you could ascertain was the twitching of his ears at some unseen sounds that only he could perceive. Oh, he wasn’t as fun as your target of the previous night. You felt rather disappointed in yourself.
The Toad warbled a single note, interrupting your thoughts.
You glanced downward at it. Right next to your caressing hand, was a relic that wasn’t there before. You stared at it in surprise before carefully examining it.
You have successfully used Cackle of Crows on dropkickdude.
You have successfully used The Toad: Cackle of Crows will be repeated against dropkickdude every night until the end of game.
The Toad has gained the Exhausted status.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Stones of Communion Note: The Stones of Communion is a powerful communication relic that allows a group of people with similar goals to act in synch even under impossible situations. Ability: Mafia has daytalk. This Artifact will automatically be given to the player with the highest amount of total posts at the end of night.
This time there was an answer.
The Orb whispered to you a single name, repeating your request, before a stream of information came forth, detailing the innermost secrets of the item known as Devourer.
Then the lights of the Orb of Whispers blinked out decisively, its task done, and you sat back to muse over the knowledge gained.
That was probably why you missed the first blow aimed at your face. You certainly did not miss the subsequent follow-ups that were aimed at every weak spot on your body. By the time it was done, and the assailant swaggering away in satisfaction, you felt totally wrecked and was trying your best to stop the content of your own stomach emptying onto the floor. Or was it two assailants? Maybe it was five. Or ten.
Oh gawd, the pain made it really hard to think straight. You vomited anyway.
~~~
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
You have successfully used Orb of Whispers on “Devourer”.
You have gained information about the following item:
Follower: Devourer Note: It is not a pet. The Devourer, as its name describes, is actually magical chimera that is capable of devouring a weakened being’s essence. When it latches on and makes a connection with its victim, it erects a stasis field that wards off everything. The tragic thing is that it only selectively devours a non-tainted essence. Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, roleblock target player with Vulnerability status. That player cannot be targeted by any other actions tonight. Kill that player if the alignment is town.
An apparition stood before you.
Slightly translucent, almost invisible, and certainly insubstantial.
There were whispers of a single person who was interested in another person.
Of a journey made and done, of a trail followed and ended, of a task seen and performed. It was all cryptic words and half-formed thoughts. But one thing remained clear, for you knew who RobRoy was interested in.
Then the apparition wavered and was gone. A smoke carried away by the wind. And your ring hummed in response.
~~~
You have successfully used Djinn on RobRoy: RobRoy targeted dropkickdude for the night.
You tapped your fingers against the flat surface in front of you. Hopefully, Wolf with a Bass would notice the gift you have dropped off for him soon enough. Though at the moment, you have a bigger fish to fry, metaphorically speaking.
Your subordinate stood in front of you, leering grin unabated as it recounted its activities. Its chest puffed upward, its hands animated and its face delighted. So glad it thought this whole situation was amusing, you mused sourly.
~~~
You have successfully transferred “Tinker and Tools” to Wolf with a Bass.
You have successfully used Bouncer on Infinis.
You have successfully used Bouncer on RobRoy.
You noted absently as the artifact was triggered in sparks of light that dispersed into thin air. Ecophagy should be protected tonight, judging from the successfully established bond, though you couldn’t be certain as to its usefulness. But that was not what interested you right now.
Because somehow one way or another without your notice, someone had just handed to you the incantation keys to a single temporal enchantment. And it looked to be a rather interesting one, though that meant your workload had just increased.
Decisions decisions.
~~~
You have successfully used “Insignia of the Wind” on Ecophagy.
You have gained the following item:
Spell: Tinker and Tools Note: An enchantment that cycles the state of an existence back to a previous state. Due to the chaotic nature of temporal magic, spells like this are severely regulated and restricted. There is no denying that if such an enchantment is properly applied, the benefits could be tremendous. Alas, some people are not interested in only benefits. Ability: Transferable, Discard, Night, remove all Exhausted status from target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers.
You were all ready for a night of red and gory. Your target was in sight. dropkickdude was sitting listlessly in a quiet corner staring at nothing in particular. The Red Baton was almost eager, almost trembling with the anticipation. And about a dozen feet from dropkickdude, the Baton went dead.
You paused.
The weapon seemed almost reluctant to move near your target somehow, a very strange thing considering its bloody nature. In fact, if you ascertain carefully, the Baton seemed somewhat eager to get away. Feeling confused, you did just that and moved away, scratching your head in bemusement. You shrugged and decided to just keep the weapon into its sheath, maybe figuring out the entire issue in your own sweet time.
You paused.
Something was in your weapon sheath. Something that was certainly not the Red Baton since the weapon was still in your hands. You curiously grabbed that something and held it up to the light. It was a crafted eye. You narrowed your eyes at it before your own thoughts were interrupted by a soft gurgle.
You paused.
Then you ran. And you skidded round the corner. Your Journeyman was lying on the floor, half-dead, with the entire front half of his clothing bathed in red. Damn it all. You hurriedly checked its condition and helped heal it in whatever way you could. It would live. But one thing was for certain, it would never be able to help you again in its current condition.
You have failed to use Red Baton on dropkickdude.
Journeyman has gained the Exhausted status.
You concentrated. You could feel the manipulation of light coalescing into something almost solid around dropkickdude. Then you let go and the entire structure crystallized in your mind.
dropkickdude had a blank expression on his face, gazing at the far wall in an almost absent manner that people certainly won’t notice was unnatural. You smiled in satisfaction at a job well done and then you walked away.
In fact, you was still smiling as a punch greeted your face. Or two. Or twenty. You couldn’t tell really. It was a flurry of blows that seemed to come in every direction. Was your assailant a single person? Were your assailants a group of people? The only thing you were aware of is the amount of blows that endlessly landed on your body, intending on giving you bruises and pain.
You weren’t even aware when it was over. You could only clench your eyes shut and bite your lips, trying to make sense of which way was up and which way was down.
You were still alive, albeit as a broken man.
Something must be wrong. Why didn’t your Political Aide come back into your service and meet you?
The Stones were gone. As you knew it would. Still, it was all for the best that it now had a new owner.
Your lips curled cruelly with that thought as you rammed the blade into your target’s neck. He flailed. He gurgled. He was still alive, but that would end soon.
You narrowed your eyes.
Wait.
You pulled the blade out. The body collapsed to the floor, still gurgling weakly. He was not Rafaelk. It was a… It was a no one! You nearly screamed in rage at being misdirected. Some low-life had just taken a kill meant for your target. You were about to ram that blade straight into its head to vent your frustration when you heard footsteps running closer.
Dammit.
You fled. Your mind was nearly incoherent at being denied your kill. Reaching a safe location, you collapsed onto the floor to rest and fume. A minute or so later, your new subordinate found you and began regaling tales of how fruitful its activities were. You couldn’t really care at this point, but you listened.
And while you listened, you continued to plot murders.
First off, the Insigna failed to lock onto Infinis despite your best effort at manipulating it. Words could not even begin to describe your astonishment at that.
You stalked through the hall, furiously gritting your teeth. Stealth was not an issue. There were already pockets of area with corpses that the rest avoided, and the survivors comprised only half the original number. You would go so far as to claim it as a just a happy jaunt was it not for a single problem.
The cackling of avians gone mad were vibrating around in your head, crowding out all other thoughts. The only thing that kept you going in search of your prey were sheer anger and the need to see this murder through.
Your Mandate had utterly failed you, its protection somehow diminished with something incredibly potent. All you had a glimpse of was a single pair of yellow eyes darting through the shadows. Almost immediately after, everything began to go wrong.
When you found Wolf with a Bass, there was not much fanfare. He was kneeling over something and immediately stood up upon noticing your presence. Nary had a single word left his mouth before you rammed a blade right through his throat, all the way to its hilt. Wolf with a Bass died with his eyes bulging and his mouth trickling blood.
It would have been glorious were it not for the still screaming birds flapping around in your mind. It was then you realized you had erred badly. Someone had been following you moments after you left behind Wolf with a Bass’ still warm body.
It must be those stupid birds, you thought bleakly, before seeing a large red rod caving your nose into your skill. Your life ended amidst the still cawing birds and the painful sensation of having your entire body broken and bled dry.
For one, you were daydreaming about Vampyr. Somehow. You didn’t care to speculate why, but some sort of trickery must have been involved.
Wait.
You shook your head and tried to concentrate. You were about to hand over a contract for one of your subordinate to... Vampyr. That’s right. The godly being that was Vampyr. If only you could worship the very grounds he walked on.
You let out a happy sigh.
You have also somehow lost all your political acuity and connections. You couldn’t make head or tail of the influences you could wield or if
you even had it in the first place at all. You knew it was there but it seemed to be just out of your grasp.
You frowned with distaste. All this nonsense doesn’t befit your status at all. Still, you had Vampyr to admire and that’s good enough for you.
You let out another happy sigh.
You have successfully transferred “Executioner” to Vampyr.
A droplet of blood slid down your lips, along your chin and dropped to the floor. Drip. A splotch of red. You wiped the trail away weakly with the back of your hands. This was painful, even as you struggled to move and urged yourself forward. The call of the Red Baton must be obeyed.
You felt something within your body gave in. You paused. You winced. That didn’t feel good. Earlier, some humongous brute of a person suddenly ambushed you and began to pummel you without any rhyme or reason. Apparently it simply hit you for the unholy joy of it. You spat at the thought and then trembled.
Gawd, that experience was literally pain incarnate.
Then you found your quarry and all thoughts fled your head. The Baton practically hummed in your hands. It trembled with anticipation at the sight of him, seemingly urging to you to move faster and faster.
Shalako looked so occupied and agitated, walking around absent-mindedly like that. It was with a certain sort of vindictive glee as the weapon’s first blow caved Shalako’s nose into his face. Then the smashing began, as you proceeded to break and bleed everything that was Shalako.
Then it offered you a simple “0”.
Huh, you thought, that was indeed a curious response.
Maybe you should ask it about the future winning lottery tickets.
Not that you would ever deign to lower yourself to such things of course.
~~~
The Questing Gem informed you the number “0” in response to the question “At the start of the game, how many town aligned players had an item that allowed them to permanently gain a copy of a Follower as part of its effect?”
You traced out the ritual again, invoking upon its authority.
The weave of power that tingled beneath your grasps made you shudder in ecstasy.
You carved out a path of bonds, this time in between Axelrod and yourself.
The trembling of energies surging erratically from one source to another made you feel simply alive.
You snapped the loci into place, the runes etched into the fabric of existence, and focused.
Blood. Red. Dominance. Control. Supremacy.
Your eyes snapped open as reality restructured itself.
Axelrod’s influence was yours truly.

It was tragic. You simply couldn’t find the exquisite carving of the eye anymore. Did you somehow misplace it? You mourned for its loss.
Still there was a job to do. And it was a job well done. There was no problem this time invoking the power of the Insignia. No funny stuff that occurred. Everything went according to plan. Dimly you were aware of someone approaching you. Oh? Break was over then? You raised your head, about to give a greeting.
You felt it first rather than saw it. The painful sensation of something puncturing through the front of your throat and exited from the back. Your eyes bulged then. Your fingers twitched as well. It was a blade, long and thin and so very metallic. And the face that grinned manically in front of you. Dear Lord, it was him all along. And there was so much red. And pain. You gurgled piteously.
You collapsed onto the floor. That was the last thing you distinctly remembered doing. The sweet silent darkness didn’t really count.

There.
Instantly, the entire latticework of witchcraft and logic trap crashed downward onto Shalako. The poor man staggered in surprise before suddenly clutching at his head in agony. He staggered into the nearest wall to catch himself before struggling to walk away, step by painful step.
You continued humming the melodies to yourself in glee.

Overall, a fun game. I feel that the town was much more powerful than the scum, and that the scum was pretty easily PoE'd out from 12 living players. I feel that the basic issue was that, individually, the roles were all awesome and flavourful, but they didn't really fit together to make a balanced game. Especially with all the investigative (better than normal cop, tracker, item cop), protective (Doc, RBer with permablock, the Super-bomb) and killing roles the town had vs scum watcher, one two-part bonus kill, Jailer and an untargetable (who Sepiriel had an answer for). If Atlseal hadn't been a cop, we might have been able to push it through, but it just pushed it over the edge.
I also feel that Vulnerability wasn't enough of a boon to the mafia - it only made -1 to lynch, which is basically useless except at endgame.
Bitterness aside, I must congratulate the town for solid play, primarily not going mad with all the vig shots, and for (eventually) giving up the flavour speculation madness. More specifically, Sepiriel for blindsiding Shalako, Atlseal for investigating well (and the charts. I don't think they helped, but they were a cool idea) and Magwald for having balls of steel (it was still a terrible plan though ¬_¬)
TFF deserves props too for getting so far - we never really suspected he was anything but town.
It's a really interesting set-up which I haven't fully reviewed yet. At least initially I'd say it does a good job of punishing too much meta-gaming and preventing players from determining alignments based just on who had what items. I know my paranoia was contemplating scenarios for every single living person being scum somehow almost right up until the very end.
I think Alpha, DKD, and RR got busted pretty much strictly on the merits. Shak started very strong, I thought, but kind of blew it by really dropping off in his posting and starting to give the appearance of ducking and covering.
Eco was just really solid all the way through - I think it's probably my worst read EVER, and that's saying something.
TFF obviously got pinched in an unwinnable situation at the end.
Despite my paranoia, I think I ended up on the right side of every lynch this game, and somehow managed to restrain myself from killing Infinis three Nights running - which, again, is saying something. I'm not usually so cautious.

In all seriousness though, nice job with the fake investigation claim, that really took some chutzpah and sent me scrambling.
And a hearty congratulations as well to the town, TFF, and Dagger for making a complex and fascinating game.

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
In all seriousness though, nice job with the fake investigation claim, that really took some chutzpah and sent me scrambling.
My fake claim was based around meta from our play together in Annorax's game. You were playing differently here, so I assumed you were scum. It was a risky gambit, but it payed off in the end.

Nope. I just don't like dying.
Man, if TFF is scum too, I wasn't that bad at all this game.
Dont think so, either that or he investigates as scum which makes the role and the role winning that much more undesirable and more of a reason to not let him achieve his wincon.
Don't particularly like this post.
Axel could you please answer my question? Who where you intending to pass your vig and why?
My wife was on MTV with this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUutIZg2EpU
Magwald.
He was being a pain in the butt and I was hoping it would shut him up. Plus, he was extremely unlikely to be any kind of scum or someone's NK target last Night.
I see.
Move doesn't make particular sense to me but can't really call it scummy either.
I guess the only thing missing is figuring out who i should target tonight.
Yeah, I'm mafia number five, and I don't see any outs. I had hoped to at least take the game close and not be blown out by the cop, but such is life.
But I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!
Well hello there Mr. Serial Killer. This guy isn't one of mine.
That being said you are one hell of a classy cornered scum.
You could just concede to Dagger and end it now
As things stand if i block TFF the only thing that should happen tomorrow outside of the coordinated kills is the bouncer smacking someone.
If i block mags there should be no bouncer but we are risking TFF killing someone.
Ughh i hate this late game planning... this is why i never play UW Control i just don't have the patience.

I honestly did too...:rofl:
Ecophagy (5) - Magwald, Sepiriel, atlseal, Arcadic, Arcadic
It takes 5 to lynch with 9 alive.
As of this post, Ecophagy has been lynched.
~~~
This time everyone was prepared.
Scant minutes into the day, with the arguments hurled around sharp and furious, a decision was already made.
Ecophagy barely had time to blink and process in the verdict, before Arcadic already had him in his grasp.
Literally.
“What?”
A single stunned expression flashed across Ecophagy’s face.
“This.”
A pair of hands moved, hard and fast, and Ecophagy’s head snapped around a full 180 degree.
Literally.
The body that hit the floor was as lifeless as the previous dozen or so.
Ecophagy, The Forgemaster (Mafia) was lynched on Day 5.
Name: Ecophagy
Alignment: Mafia
Title: The Forgemaster
Domain: Artificers, Blacksmiths, Sculptors and a half dozen other crafting professions collectively have the title of Forgemaster as their most esteemed and prestigious honor. Sadly, this often causes those conferred the title to be fully immersed in being a spokesperson dealing with political and economic affairs instead rather than continuing the crafts they love so much.
Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
Artifact: Talisman
Note: It is a short strip of paper inscribed with sigils and runes of power. Very traditional. Very potent. Almost certainly going to do something. That is what you believed anyway, judging from the instructions jotted on it. Whisper a name to it and the Talisman’s power will burn up, together with the functionality of the named article.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, name a one-shot Artifact, Spell or Follower without the Used status. If it exists in the game, it gains the Exhausted status.
~~~
Spell: Solemn Vow
Note: Among the most important of unspoken vows between craftsmen is the vow of brotherhood and kinship.
~~~
Follower: Tactical Aide
Note: In the battlefield of military war as well as those of political nature, the Tactical Aide offers advices and suggestions that will both lengthen your lifespan and career. When its contract with you has ended however, at a time when the Aide deems fit, it will leave your service for another.
Ability: Transferable, your Lynch threshold is +1.
~~~
Artifact: Lidless Eye
Note: It is a piece of marble, carved in the likeness of a lidless eye. An exquisite craftsmanship to be certain. Almost certainly going to be worth a lot, judging from the way the almost lifelike eye seems to follow your every move. But closer inspection reveals that alas, it is as non-magical as it can be.
Ability: None.
Someone queried.
“It isn’t.”
You replied grimly.
Somehow, somewhat, the wards maintaining the prison enchantment still held, though it began to dull and darken even as you watched.
Maybe a short break was all you all needed before the wards failed completely.
Maybe.
~~~
It is now Night 5.
There is a deadline of 72 hours for night action submissions. Day 6 will begin after all the night actions have been processed.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.
It was in that moment of unparalleled intensity that TheFooFish made his final desperate gambit, surrounded on all sides by people he would rather see dead. One of his hands extended forward in a clawing grasp and he pulled at the air, spitting out a string of arcane invocations in a rushed breath.
"Urk."
RafaelK flew like a rag-doll across the entire hall right right into TheFooFish's hand, knocking aside tables and chairs, and smashing through those too large to be moved by sheer force. A trail of blood followed the entire violent passage and RafaelK arrived at his destination with two of his limbs bent at an awkward angle.
TheFooFish's grip on RafaelK's throat lasted only for a single fleeting second before he released his prey almost immediately after, screaming in obscenities and clutching at his head. The mystic spellcraft was forgotten forcibly as he staggered backward and crashed into the nearest wall. RafaelK collapsed onto the floor, twitching and moaning, favoring his own broken limbs.
"Die!"
TheFooFish let out a deranged howl and turned his bloodshot eyes around, flinging one of his arms in Sepiriel's direction, who was muttering his own hex-bind of counter logics and reverse reasoning. Something vicious warped through the intervening space between the two spellcasters and the air around Sepiriel imploded. There was a scream and Sepiriel was flung head over heels across the air to land onto the empty podium.
Dust swirled around in large volumes, as the rest began to lunge forward.
TheFooFish snarled challengingly at them.
Arcadic was the first to reach, the immortal's own eyes glowing bright. TheFooFish's own hands slashed upward, fingers twisting into complex gestures accompanied by a polysyllabic hum. Following immediately after was Arcadic's own counter-gestures, causing the eldritch energies to consume each other before any sort of coherent latticework of spell constructs could be erected. TheFooFish was only allowed a split second of stunned surprise before both of Arcadic's hands managed to clutch at TheFooFish's head.
"This ends here now."
Both spellcasters, locked in each other's struggling embrace, erupted into a violent cacophony of thundering flames and searing light. The massive backlash of energy instantly tore through what remained of the spell barrier, extinguishing the prison wards entirely as well as collapsing a major portion of the ceilings in the hall.
Naturally, there might have been lots of screaming involved.
~~~
~~~
Congratulations to the Town for winning Conflux Mafia!
I must also profess my most ardent admiration for the efforts of both the Mafia as well as the Serial Killer in this game, and really hope that they will forgive me somewhat for being on the receiving end of such a landslide Town victory.
More thoughts on the game design, role PMs, action PMs, etc. etc. to follow.
Endgame State
Name: Sepiriel
Alignment: Town
Title: The Grim Matriarch
Domain: The Witches Covens numbered thirteen altogether and are the only practitioners of magic with the common touch among the local communities. Above all, they are tightly integrated into the lore and myths of the common folks. While familiars are still part of a witch’s image, black pointy hats have sadly fallen out of favor as a modern fashion sense.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Spell: Cackle of Crows
Note: The screech of a thousand black avians tends to unnerve any sane individual. A spell of suggestion that mimic the exact same sound tends to have the same effect as the real thing and far more convenient as well. Who is going to bother gathering a thousand crows every night just to unnerve another person completely?
Ability: Night, all of target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers gain the Exhausted status. Exhausted status gained this way will be removed at the end of Night.
~~~
Follower: The Black Cat (Exhausted)
Note: There is power in beliefs and superstitions. Enough people believing in it will make it true. A black cat that crosses your path brings bad luck and must be avoided at all costs. Now if you have a black cat and then you set it free to run interference on your behalf, who would dare to stop you?
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Concurrent, Night, actions you use tonight cannot be prevented.
~~~
Follower: The Toad (Exhausted)
Note: It stares at you with those potent bulbous eyes of it, unblinking unmoving unnerving. You move anywhere and those pair of bulging eyes follows you every step of the way, watching stalking judging. Suddenly spontaneous things feel like they last for an eternity and endlessly haunting you. Maybe you could try pointing those unsettling eyes at someone else?
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Concurrent, Night, actions you use tonight are going to be repeated automatically against the same player until the end of game.
~~~
Artifact: Stones of Communion
Note: The Stones of Communion is a powerful communication relic that allows a group of people with similar goals to act in synch even under impossible situations. While the relic itself has a tendency to be attracted to the most influential person, it cannot be disabled until everyone originally linked to it is dead or the relic itself is destroyed.
Ability: Mafia has daytalk. This Artifact will automatically be given to the player with the highest amount of total posts at the end of night.
Name: Arcadic
Alignment: Town
Title: The Lich Lord
Domain: Necropolises are wasteland catacombs where the deads walk the earth and death is worshipped. In such unholy places, the living tread not and the sane utterly avoid. Yet, there is power in such a decay and your command of it is absolute. Such is your reign that even the grim reaper itself could only flail ineffectually at you.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Necronomicon
Note: There is a legend of a book of power steeped in magic so vile and arts of death so horrifying that every practitioner of necromancy seeks for it. That book is known as the Necronomicon. This is not that book. This is a personal spellbook with the same name, no doubt hoping to cash in on the notorious fame.
Ability: Linked to 3 Spells which can only be moved together with the Necronomicon.
~~~
Spell: Sojourn
Note: This is a minor transportation spell that maintains a psychic link with the horrifying artifact known as the Phylactery. The link is so strong that this spell can literally move the artifact to whomever you so choose, including yourself. That is, if the artifact still exists and has yet to be destroyed for being what it is.
Ability: Night, target player receives the Phylactery if it has yet to be discarded, no matter where it may be.
~~~
Spell: Blood Pact
Note: Blood is the liquid of life. Freely given, it is an extremely potent healing component for potions and magical rituals. Forcibly given, it is no less potent in its intention to harm and subjugate another mortal being. This is the latter, for by invoking this ritual, you will gain great influence at the expense of another.
Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player cannot vote and you gain an additional vote. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~
Spell: Soul Pact
Note: How does one strengthen an immaterial insubstantial thing as a soul? The answer is at the expense of another soul of course. While one cannot measure the completeness of a single soul, a comparison can be done between two to determine their relative scales. Needless to say, this ritual degrades another soul to improve yours.
Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player gains a Lynch threshold of -2 and you gain a Lynch threshold of +2. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~
Spell: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust
Note: A suicide ritual, crude in its simplicity and potent in its application. A spell that outright kills is one of the most difficult to be crafted, and this spell solves the problem by extinguishing your own life force to reduce another to nothingness. For most people, it is a last resort ritual. For some, it is key to freedom.
Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, sacrifice yourself to kill target player.
Name: Vampyr
Alignment: Town
Title: The Living Avatar
Domain: You are the essence of a divinity that walks the land. Every word you spout is a new commandment. Every step you take is a place blessed. Your presence is so holy that cults sprang up around you and people are drawn to you in reverence. Some claimed you are a menace but going against you is suicide personified.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Spell: Divine Essence
Note: If a soul is visible to mortal eyes, then this soul would shine with the brilliance of a thousand suns. And that is not a mere metaphor. If the essence of divinity is ever unleashed due to your death, there would be an explosion of light so vengeful that it will incinerate your killer.
Ability: If you are killed by a Lynch, the player who hammered you dies. If you are killed by an action, the player who used that action on you dies.
~~~
Spell: Allure
Note: So enticing is your presence that it is akin to a beacon that draws all moths to its flames. What more, were you to hone this charismatic appeal onto a single person, that person would be unable to resist you and desire to see you directly instead of whomever was in mind.
Ability: Night, target player targets you tonight if able.
~~~
Follower: Attendant
Note: A silent servant that tends to your every need, every desire, and every comfort. An obstructive second shadow tagging along behind you that fulfils your every wish. Extremely useful for mundane work but do not get your hope up for more advanced jobs. Money back not guaranteed since the service was offered free.
Ability: None.
~~~
Artifact: Phylactery
Note: It looks like an unbreakable crystal shard that pulses with an angry red light. It feels like a block of ice that drains all heat. It sounds like the flutter of wings trapped into a confined space. It is, without a single doubt, a container for a human soul. And you flinch from it in horror.
Ability: Your Lynch threshold is -2.
~~~
Follower: Executioner
Note: When the Executioner comes a calling, the Grim Reaper stalks the land. It has a gruff no-nonsense attitude, fantastic in its line of job, with the capacity to kill even the most powerful of individuals. Its term of contract only allows you a single kill however, and then it is off to vacation someplace with lots of alcohol.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player.
Name: atlseal
Alignment: Town
Title: The Prime Archivist
Domain: The Repositories are knowledge centers located around the world housing not only books but artifacts of great power. They are the keepers of the lore and stories passed down through the generations, linking the past to the future. Within it, tens of thousands of scribes toil day and night just to record down everything in black and white.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Secret Script
Note: How does one use an indestructible scrap of paper? There are probably more than a thousand uses, though more than half are most likely to be undignified. Still, it could be a valuable way to pass on information to another person and whether said information is misleading or not is of course entirely up to you.
Ability: Transferable, any 4 words can be written on the Secret Script at any point of time. These 4 words can be rewritten again if you so wish. This information is not erased if the Secret Script is discarded.
Message: Titles: 596, 692, 559
~~~
Artifact: Black Book
Note: What the Eye sees, the Book knows. No Evil is concealed when the Eye watches. However, the book itself is a nondescript black, rather plain to the eyes. Perhaps you should emboss some silver letterings onto its covers and decorate its edges with golden motifs. It would certainly be less embarrassing when you flourish it around.
Ability: Gives you the alignment of the current holder of Lidless Eye. This information is erased if the Black Book is discarded.
Alignment: Mafia
~~~
Spell: Clandestine
Note: Clandestine, also known as secret, underground, covert, concealed, stealthy, furtive, undercover, surreptitious, and dozens of other variants. Clandestine describes exactly the function of a spell that shifts an ever-knowing eye to another person with that person none the wiser about it. It is a spell with a very specific purpose but it serves that purpose well enough.
Ability: Night, target player receives the Lidless Eye even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
Name: Axelrod (Vulnerability)
Alignment: Town
Title: The Sovereign
Domain: The Sovereignty is the strongest among all the political domains in the world. And you rule it with an iron fist. Armies beckoned at your call. Thousands who opposed you die at your whim. Millions bow down to your every will. You should be recognized as such. And that is why you even deign to come.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Jade Flower
Note: The emotion of fear was magically solidified and personified into the jade carving of a flower. It must have been crafted by an artificer with a terrible sense of irony. It is still a very powerful protective artifact, regardless of its design. It exudes such an intimidating and horrifying aura that most subversive attempts against you should fail.
Ability: Transferable, your items cannot be copied, exchanged or stolen by other players.
~~~
Spell: Sanctuary
Note: When all else is too much, you could invoke this incantation to feel safe and secure. It is a mental exercise translated into a spell and it only directly affects your mind, thus does not actually do anything to ward off Evil or protect you from harm. Still, it is the thoughts that count, right?
Ability: None.
~~~
Follower: Political Aide
Note: Many would say politics are far more lethal a field of war as compared to any others. But fear not for Aide is here. With its help, you would have a far greater influence to exert as compared to before. Alas, the Aide works on a contract by contract basis, and will not stay long under your service.
Ability: Transferable, you have an additional vote.
Name: Magwald (Vulnerability)
Alignment: Town
Title: The Underbroker
Domain: The Undercities are really just a series of interconnecting sewers and underground passages linking the major cities of the world. While some of these passages are physical in nature, the majority are magical. And within the bustling Undercities, black markets and illegal trades dominate every aspect of life. You could have anything in the world, with the correct price.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Follower: Devourer (Exhausted)
Note: It is not a pet.
~~~
Follower: Bouncer
Note: It smacks its fist into its palm and leers at everyone that walks by. A total brute, with all muscles and no brain, but it serves its function rather well. It does have the propensity to go around at nights thrashing up any poor unfortunate souls whom it perceives to be weak and in need of a good beating.
Ability: At the end of every Night, the living player with the least amount of total posts will gain Vulnerability status. This ability could be used repeatedly on the same player.
Name: RafaelK (Vulnerability)
Alignment: Town
Title: The Wanderer
Domain: You are old, withered and ancient. Tales of your exploits are surrounded by myths and legends. Your name is invoked as both a protection and a curse. Adventuring is a terribly risky business. For you to have survived this long for so many decades, you are exceptionally good at what you do. And also extremely dangerous.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Red Baton
Note: This weapon is not red. It gained the reputation of being red through the blood it has forced out of its victims over the centuries. And for a blunt stick to force out enough blood to gain such a reputation, well, the name speaks for itself. But such a draw to blood tends to compel the acts themselves.
Ability: Night, kill a player every even night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~
Follower: Journeyman (Exhausted)
Note: Every trade must be passed down through the generations, even dangerous ones. The Journeyman will learn your trade and then take your place one day in the cycle of life. Though for now, it is an extra useful body that just might take your place in the cycle of death. At least it makes itself useful.
Ability: One-shot, you are protected automatically from a single non-lynch kill aimed at you.
Name: TheFooFish
Alignment: Neutral
Title: The First Arcanist
Domain: Among the wizards, you are the One. The rank of the First Arcanist is the most prestigious among a large majority of magic practitioners, because it is recognized by every single world government. But absolute power corrupts absolutely, and why stops at First Arcanist when you could have the world in the palms of your hands?
Win Condition: Be the only player alive.
~~~
Artifact: Seven Jewels
Note: Despite such a fancy name, the artifact is just a circular metal plate crafted from reality alloy. However, along the edges are seven depressions, each fitted with a translucent disc that will only be lit with an inner glow as it absorbs a very potent life force that has to be snuffed out via unnatural means.
Ability: You have an alternative win condition of gaining 7 charges for the Seven Jewels. Each charge can only be gained by killing another player via either an action or a hammer for a Lynch. Winning this way will remove you from the game to allow it to continue.
Charges: 1
~~~
Spell: Quencher
Note: Once used, the ritual compels. To take a life, you must devote yours. Quencher is the name of the spell that utilizes blunt trauma to literally quench the life force of another person, an assuredly most painful way to die. And you get to see blood fountains out of that person via blows dealt with magical sledgehammers.
Ability: Night, kill a player every odd night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~
Spell: Interpretation
Note: To know one’s opponents is to gain an advantage over them. Interpretation is an offensive divinatory magic designed to violate a person’s spirit and expose that person’s influence as it is. While not exactly a battle-mage’s offensive spell of choice, it is far more useful for a wizard who appreciates the finer arts of subtlety.
Ability: Day, target player gains Vulnerability status. That player’s Title will be posted in the game thread. This ability may only be used every even day.
~~~
Follower: Seeker (Exhausted)
Note: The Seeker is a very specific type of bounty hunter that sniffs out and hunts down one of the rarest and hardest to forge arcane metals in the world – the Reality Alloy. Artifacts crafted with it are downright esoteric or affect their surroundings in unexpected ways, thus making them valuable for true collectors and useless for everyone else.
Ability: One-shot, Night, choose an Artifact crafted from reality alloy from among the following list: Ancient Pennant, Questing Gem, Seven Jewels. You will steal that Artifact even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
~~~
Artifact: Questing Gem
Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

Title: The Director
Domain: The Corporations operate with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine, all cold logic and data streaming in sequence. They serve as the technological hubs of the world, even dipping their hands into researches outright forbidden in every other field in the name of progress. There are whispers of many a missing person report being linked to them.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: The Monocle
Note: It is big and round, with a golden frame to kill for and a capacity to glint off light in such a manner as to make you seem highly dangerous. You delighted in the fact that whenever you brought it out to use it, everyone else shuddered in fear of you. Tragically, its primary function is purely aesthetic.
Ability: None.
~~~
Follower: Subject J
Note: Highly dexterous and nimble, subject has been noted to be able to sneak past all securities guarding a certain position in order to determine all articles being held there. The ease in which it adapted to such a task suggested previous experience. May be pushed to obtain more information out of infiltration but will be rendered null after.
Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Artifacts. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Artifacts and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
~~~
Follower: Subject K
Note: Talented unnaturally so in mind infiltration, subject has a sight limitation and a working range of up to half a mile. A delicate procedure still in experimental stage, so restriction to casual brushing of thought surfaces is suggested for repeated usage. A more straining and deadly variant may dig out more conclusive results, though highly dangerous to subject.
Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Spells and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.
~~~
Follower: Subject T
Note: Subject has been noted to have an almost unnatural sway with other people. Side effects of the combination of drugs and training has given it an almost hypnotic-like persuasion skill that has been confirmed to manipulate subconscious brainwaves of all living entities. Powers are still at preliminary stages and attempts to enhance them are ill-advised without further data.
Ability: Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Followers. One-shot, you may immediately follow up to determine the abilities of all the listed Followers and whether they are Exhausted before the Day is over.

Name: desCoures
Alignment: Town
Title: The Guildmaster
Domain: If there is power in numbers, then a guild would be the penultimate symbol of that power. The next logical step then would be the Workers Union, the ultimate incarnation where numbers are indeed strength, where all the guilds are combined into a single frightening mass of workers demanding their rights and going on strikes. Destruction is optional.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Crest of Conviction
Note: A symbol of office where the faith of millions are placed onto your shoulders. With the heavy burden of such responsibility on your shoulders, how can you even fail? Or falter? Or even show the tiniest hint of weakness? For were you to fail, who else can these millions look up to?
Ability: Transferable, you cannot gain Vulnerability status. Whenever you receive this, if you have Vulnerability status, remove the status.
~~~
Artifact: Ancient Ledger
Note: A weathered yellowed script of ancient papers that looks set to crumble the moment someone breathes on it. As far as you can ascertain, it has a divinatory purpose though you doubt you should actually use it. Divination is a tricky business. What if the result stuns you so much that you accidentally destroys such a priceless antique?
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, you will be told the number of non-discarded items in the game with Exhausted and non-Exhausted given as separate numbers.
~~~
Spell: Secret
Note: Being weak is not something one likes to air to the public. And a great many people would take great steps and lengths just to ensure that secret will be taken to their graves with them. But if you do not know where they are, how else can you help them? Unfortunately, this divinatory ritual is rather loud.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, reveal all players with Vulnerability status in the game thread.
~~~
Spell: Representative
Note: When the weak falter, the strong shall rise in their stead. It does not really matter if the weak protest such a notion, for is it not the strong’s obligation to graciously guide them? This calling spell will immediately identify all the players afflicted with weakness and allow you to act on their behalf.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Day, all players with Vulnerability status will be informed of their loss of votes and you gain that many votes for the day.

From dawn to dusk, serenaded by thousands of soothing chants from the Monks, the hundreds of tiny multicolored bouncing blobs living there would preened excitedly at the attention they obtained from everyone, especially the tourists.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Follower: White Goo
Note: Arguably the cutest among all species of Goo, there are tons of reports of a general sense of wellness and serenity when this Goo is staring at you with its cute little moist eyes that just seem to pummel whatever ill intents and harmful feelings you possess into submission and beyond.
Ability: One-shot, Night, each player targeting you tonight will be protected from all kills.
~~~
Follower: Green Goo
Note: The ultimate secret spy – tiny, cute, green, and bounce a lot. No one knows why but this species of Goo just excels at digging out dirt on people. In fact, there are rumors going around that it is the only Goo species being used in intelligence services. You didn’t hear that from us, of course.
Ability: One-shot, Night, name of each player targeting you tonight will be revealed to you.
~~~
Follower: Black Goo
Note: The ultimate watchdog, even more of a watchdog as compared to a real watchdog, this species of Goo is known to be extremely vigilant against any and all intruders attempting to invade its owner’s house. It is awfully unnerving when stumbling into a lightless area and seeing an entire wall of darkness blinking their eyes at you.
Ability: One-shot, Night, each player targeting you tonight will be immune from all non-kill effects.
~~~
Follower: Red Goo
Note: The most protective and violent among all species of Goo, it has an almost paranoid and psychopathic tendency towards whomever it perceived to be threatening against its owner. In all actuality, this is the only species of Goo with reports of lethal attacks against humans, a most surprising fact considering its physical attributes.
Ability: One-shot, Night, each player killing you tonight will also die.
Name: Infinis
Alignment: Town
Title: The Keeper of Secrets
Domain: There is a secret sect of magicians that live in the wilds, dedicating their lives to uncovering the truth of existence. Their communion with nature is so potent that nothing could be hidden or kept from their reach for long. Unfortunately, their secrecy is so paramount that everyone knows about the existence of the secret, if not its nature.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Orb of Whispers
Note: If you whisper to the orb, it will whisper back to you. If you scream at the orb, it will still whisper back to you. It is a mysterious chrome orb that thrummed with power with each word exchanged. Every single past wielder of the orb has claimed that the whispers sometimes contain shards of truth.
Ability: Night, name an Artifact, Spell or Follower. If it exists in the game, you will be told every detail pertaining to it.
~~~
Spell: Resonance
Note: Morphological resonance of each artifact has a unique signature to it, unduplicated by any other means. However, if one is aware of such a fact, that signature resonance can be modulated carefully from another source to retrieve that artifact from its space-time position. Regrettably, such a morphological disorder destroys the structural integrity of the base artifact used.
Ability: Night, name an Artifact. If it exists in the game and has yet to be discarded, discard an Artifact you own to steal the Artifact you have named, no matter where it may be.
Name: Arcadic
Alignment: Town
Title: The Lich Lord
Domain: Necropolises are wasteland catacombs where the deads walk the earth and death is worshipped. In such unholy places, the living tread not and the sane utterly avoid. Yet, there is power in such a decay and your command of it is absolute. Such is your reign that even the grim reaper itself could only flail ineffectually at you.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Phylactery
Note: It looks like an unbreakable crystal shard that pulses with an angry red light. It feels like a block of ice that drains all heat. It sounds like the flutter of wings trapped into a confined space. It is, without a single doubt, a container for a human soul. And you flinch from it in horror.
Ability: Your Lynch threshold is -2.
~~~
~~~
Spell: Sojourn
Note: This is a minor transportation spell that maintains a psychic link with the horrifying artifact known as the Phylactery. The link is so strong that this spell can literally move the artifact to whomever you so choose, including yourself. That is, if the artifact still exists and has yet to be destroyed for being what it is.
Ability: Night, target player receives the Phylactery if it has yet to be discarded, no matter where it may be.
~~~
~~~
Spell: Soul Pact
Note: How does one strengthen an immaterial insubstantial thing as a soul? The answer is at the expense of another soul of course. While one cannot measure the completeness of a single soul, a comparison can be done between two to determine their relative scales. Needless to say, this ritual degrades another soul to improve yours.
Ability: Linked to Necronomicon, Night, target player gains a Lynch threshold of -2 and you gain a Lynch threshold of +2. The effects last for the following day only.
~~~
Private Info: As long as your Phylactery hasn’t been discarded, you will be able to post even after death but not vote.
~~~
Spell: Divine Essence
Note: If a soul is visible to mortal eyes, then this soul would shine with the brilliance of a thousand suns. And that is not a mere metaphor. If the essence of divinity is ever unleashed due to your death, there would be an explosion of light so vengeful that it will incinerate your killer.
Ability: If you are killed by a Lynch, the player who hammered you dies. If you are killed by an action, the player who used that action on you dies.
~~~
~~~
Follower: Attendant
Note: A silent servant that tends to your every need, every desire, and every comfort. An obstructive second shadow tagging along behind you that fulfils your every wish. Extremely useful for mundane work but do not get your hope up for more advanced jobs. Money back not guaranteed since the service was offered free.
Ability: None.
Name: DYH
Alignment: Town
Title: The Merchant Prince
Domain: The Merchant Guilds are a force to be reckoned with due to the amount of wealth they command. If there are clinks of gold to be heard, rest assured their influence will be keenly felt there. It is a pity among people equally wealthy but with far more authority, you are relegated to a less prestigious position.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Ring of Command
Note: A beautiful golden ring inlaid with rubies around it is certainly a sight to behold. All the rubies seem to glow with an inner light when the ring was kissed, giving hints as to its magical nature. The ring houses an elemental servant of the air that will serve its master’s every command.
Ability: Linked to 1 Follower which can only be moved together with the Ring of Command.
~~~
Artifact: Chest of Gold
Note: Drop a chest of gold into someone’s lap and that lap is probably crushed if said someone is a normal mortal. But that aside, that much amount of gold is not something to be brushed aside casually. It could even be used to bribe anyone away from their former master to serve you.
Ability: Night, giving Chest of Gold to target player will steal for you all Followers that player owns at the end of night.
~~~
Follower: Djinn
Note: A djinn of the ring is a creature out of myths that will reluctantly serve the whims of its master. While those same myths portrayed these djinns as creatures with insidious cunning or malicious wit, the one you control is little more than a mindless magical summon that bends to your will easily enough.
Ability: Linked to Ring of Command, Night, track target player.
Name: Wolf with a Bass
Alignment: Town
Title: The Monarch
Domain: The Monarchy is one of the major political powers in the world. It is also the most ancient and longest lasting of all established political realms, richly steeped in cultural history and traditions. For those more informed, it is also the place where one is most likely to obtain esoteric items as well as obscure rituals.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Insignia of the Wind
Note: For something called Insignia of the Wind, it is neither an insignia nor has it anything to do with the wind. Still, it is an artifact of potent power, able to reduce the probability of death occurring to a single person. Repeated usage on the same person has been noted to increase said probability however, so caution is advised.
Ability: Night, protect target player without Vulnerability status from all kills. If the protected player is the target of a kill, that player will gain Vulnerability status instead of dying. If instead, target player has Vulnerability status, kill that player.
~~~
Spell: Sanctification
Note: This is a spell ritual known only to a select few. While it doesn’t mend the body or heal the bones and thus of less interest to those pursuing the noble arts of healing, it does one thing remarkably well. It strengthens both the mind and the soul, two rather insubstantial attributes to most people.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, remove Vulnerability status from target player.
Name: Wrath of Dog
Alignment: Town
Title: The Oracle
Domain: Above the highest peak under the sea of stars stand the Observatories, a place of worship to the Sight as well as a center of learning on the movement of heavens. So profound was their understanding of the charts of fates that they are often sought out whenever great world events occur, calamitous or otherwise.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Questing Gem
Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however.
Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
~~~
Spell: Mindsight
Note: A very powerful invasionary mind magic that duplicates the exact workings of another spell right out of an unwilling mind. The incantations to initiate this magic is very exhaustive however to both magical reserve and strength, and will most likely kill you if not enough time has passed in between casting to recuperate both.
Ability: One-shot, Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Spells. If that player has any Spell, you gain a copy of that Spell permanently. If that player has more than one Spells, you gain a copy of one of those Spells of your choice permanently.
Name: atlseal
Alignment: Town
Title: The Prime Archivist
Domain: The Repositories are knowledge centers located around the world housing not only books but artifacts of great power. They are the keepers of the lore and stories passed down through the generations, linking the past to the future. Within it, tens of thousands of scribes toil day and night just to record down everything in black and white.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Secret Script
Note: How does one use an indestructible scrap of paper? There are probably more than a thousand uses, though more than half are most likely to be undignified. Still, it could be a valuable way to pass on information to another person and whether said information is misleading or not is of course entirely up to you.
Ability: Transferable, any 4 words can be written on the Secret Script at any point of time. These 4 words can be rewritten again if you so wish. This information is not erased if the Secret Script is discarded.
Message: Super Sneaky Secret Script
~~~
Artifact: Black Book
Note: What the Eye sees, the Book knows. No Evil is concealed when the Eye watches. However, the book itself is a nondescript black, rather plain to the eyes. Perhaps you should emboss some silver letterings onto its covers and decorate its edges with golden motifs. It would certainly be less embarrassing when you flourish it around.
Ability: Gives you the alignment of the current holder of Lidless Eye. This information is erased if the Black Book is discarded.
Alignment: Town
~~~
Artifact: Lidless Eye
Note: It is a piece of marble, carved in the likeness of a lidless eye. An exquisite craftsmanship to be certain. Almost certainly going to be worth a lot, judging from the way the almost lifelike eye seems to follow your every move. But closer inspection reveals that alas, it is as non-magical as it can be.
Ability: None.
~~~
Name: Axelrod
Alignment: Town
Title: The Sovereign
Domain: The Sovereignty is the strongest among all the political domains in the world. And you rule it with an iron fist. Armies beckoned at your call. Thousands who opposed you die at your whim. Millions bow down to your every will. You should be recognized as such. And that is why you even deign to come.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Jade Flower
Note: The emotion of fear was magically solidified and personified into the jade carving of a flower. It must have been crafted by an artificer with a terrible sense of irony. It is still a very powerful protective artifact, regardless of its design. It exudes such an intimidating and horrifying aura that most subversive attempts against you should fail.
Ability: Transferable, your items cannot be copied, exchanged or stolen by other players.
~~~
~~~
Follower: Executioner
Note: When the Executioner comes a calling, the Grim Reaper stalks the land. It has a gruff no-nonsense attitude, fantastic in its line of job, with the capacity to kill even the most powerful of individuals. Its term of contract only allows you a single kill however, and then it is off to vacation someplace with lots of alcohol.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player.
Name: Magwald
Alignment: Town
Title: The Underbroker
Domain: The Undercities are really just a series of interconnecting sewers and underground passages linking the major cities of the world. While some of these passages are physical in nature, the majority are magical. And within the bustling Undercities, black markets and illegal trades dominate every aspect of life. You could have anything in the world, with the correct price.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Spell: Tinker and Tools
Note: An enchantment that cycles the state of an existence back to a previous state. Due to the chaotic nature of temporal magic, spells like this are severely regulated and restricted. There is no denying that if such an enchantment is properly applied, the benefits could be tremendous. Alas, some people are not interested in only benefits.
Ability: Transferable, Discard, Night, remove all Exhausted status from target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers.
~~~
Follower: Devourer
Note: It is not a pet. The Devourer, as its name describes, is actually magical chimera that is capable of devouring a weakened being’s essence. When it latches on and makes a connection with its victim, it erects a stasis field that wards off everything. The tragic thing is that it only selectively devours a non-tainted essence.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, roleblock target player with Vulnerability status. That player cannot be targeted by any other actions tonight. Kill that player if the alignment is town.
~~~
Follower: Bouncer
Note: It smacks its fist into its palm and leers at everyone that walks by. A total brute, with all muscles and no brain, but it serves its function rather well. It does have the propensity to go around at nights thrashing up any poor unfortunate souls whom it perceives to be weak and in need of a good beating.
Ability: At the end of every Night, the living player with the least amount of total posts will gain Vulnerability status. This ability could be used repeatedly on the same player.
Name: Rafaelk
Alignment: Town
Title: The Wanderer
Domain: You are old, withered and ancient. Tales of your exploits are surrounded by myths and legends. Your name is invoked as both a protection and a curse. Adventuring is a terribly risky business. For you to have survived this long for so many decades, you are exceptionally good at what you do. And also extremely dangerous.
Win Condition: Eliminate the scums.
~~~
Artifact: Red Baton
Note: This weapon is not red. It gained the reputation of being red through the blood it has forced out of its victims over the centuries. And for a blunt stick to force out enough blood to gain such a reputation, well, the name speaks for itself. But such a draw to blood tends to compel the acts themselves.
Ability: Night, kill a player every even night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~
Follower: Journeyman
Note: Every trade must be passed down through the generations, even dangerous ones. The Journeyman will learn your trade and then take your place one day in the cycle of life. Though for now, it is an extra useful body that just might take your place in the cycle of death. At least it makes itself useful.
Ability: One-shot, you are protected automatically from a single non-lynch kill aimed at you.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

AlphaInsidious, dropkickdude, Ecophagy, lrd, RobRoy
The five of you have entered into a Pact of Understanding, bounded by necessity, blood and magic. While each of you is a power in your own right, you are not that delusional as to believe you could take on nineteen other people as equally powerful and influential by yourself, if not more so. And while you appreciate the noble goals of the assemblage, you believe that the incoming threat is not as dire as it seemed. But there is an opportunity here, and you have managed to dig out four other individuals of similar minds and understanding on the way how things should work. And the Pact was forged.
The same Pact has given you the ability to communicate with each other during Night right here. In addition, as long as the Artifact known as the Stones of Communion has yet to be discarded, the range of communication is extended to Day as well.
Finally, under the obligation of the Pact, one of you may perform a mafiakill each Night in place of an action. Sneaking is involved as you don’t want to tip your hand too early when the other side has a numerical superiority. But when your side have achieved a numerical superiority, this sneaking about business is certainly going to end and you all can move in for the final kill.
Name: dropkickdude
Alignment: Mafia
Title: The Dark Patriarch
Domain: Assassination is an art of the greatest finesse. The amount of discipline it requires. The knowledge of the blades unparallel to any others. The mindset honed to such perfection. The stench of blood pervades every breath. The cloak of shadows wrapped like a second skin. The lives extinguished without a single blink. That is the creed.
Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~
Spell: Decree
Note: The blade struck; therefore the heart must have been pierced. This highly dangerous spell reverses the laws of causality so that the reverse is true. The heart pierced; therefore the blade must have struck. The act of killing is a mere formality as the blade had already pierced the heart even before the attack was initiated.
Ability: Concurrent, Night, all kills targeting the player with the least amount of total posts cannot be prevented.
~~~
Spell: Shade
Note: This ritual manipulates the shadows inherent in all things to seal the things themselves partially out of synch with the rest of the world. This causes the identification of those things near impossible until a sufficient enough time has passed for the effects of the ritual to unravel themselves. The beauty here is that the caster is not affected.
Ability: One-shot, Concurrent, Night, all items on targeted player that died tonight will only be revealed to you and not to the game thread.
Name: RobRoy
Alignment: Mafia
Title: The Divine Voice
Domain: The Holy Tabernacles are the voices of heavens, linking the hope and prayers of the billions to the Divinities above. With such an encompassing grip upon the entire world’s faith and belief, they are a power in their own right, and one that equally affects the common folk as well as the upper classes.
Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~
Spell: Pillars
Note: This is a prayer invoking the might of a Divine, casting a single person within a column of invisible light so intense it feels almost solid. Within the active duration, the person is protected from all lethal harm but also unable to affect the outside world. To prevent panic and hysteria, that person’s consciousness is forcibly blanked out.
Ability: Night, protect target player from all kills. That player is prevented from using any actions. The targeted player cannot be you.
~~~
Spell: Silver Mark
Note: A cantrip invocation that blesses another person from all danger and harm. While it originates from a midwife’s repertoire of folk charms and minor remedies, this particular cantrip’s power has been seriously augmented to the extent of being able to ward off anything that would outright kill. Alas, such a boost reduces its effective length.
Ability: Transferable,One-shot, Night, protect target player.
~~~
Follower: Fanatic
Note: The best type of follower to have around is one that would be willing to die for you. A much better one is one that would be willing to kill for you. This particular follower is so devoted to Light that it is willing to kill only those whom it perceived to be Evil or weak.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player. This is only successful if target player is non-town or has Vulnerability status.
Name: Shalako
Alignment: Mafia
Title: The Emperor
Domain: The lineage of the Emperors is the birthright of Heavens, with each successive holder of the Golden Throne anointed by the Mandate handed down from fathers to sons, unbroken through the generations. Their blood is divine and their rule absolute. Long live the Empire, most sacred of kingdoms, and may their blood hold true and pure for all eternity.
Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~
Artifact: Stones of Communion
Note: The Stones of Communion is a powerful communication relic that allows a group of people with similar goals to act in synch even under impossible situations. While the relic itself has a tendency to be attracted to the most influential person, it cannot be disabled until everyone originally linked to it is dead or the relic itself is destroyed.
Ability: Mafia has daytalk. This Artifact will automatically be given to the player with the highest amount of total posts at the end of night.
~~~
Artifact: Mandate of Heaven
Note: This perfectly circular white disc symbolizes the favor of Heavens upon you, rendering you entirely immune to whatever machinations that may be done covertly against you. Legends passed down from the lore state that it was crafted from the scales of a white dragon, slain by the first owner of the Mandate of Heaven.
Ability: All actions performed upon you will fail.
~~~
Follower: Spymaster
Note: Sometimes, circumstances dictate that your allies must be protected as well. So while the Mandate of Heaven may or may not be yours, it would serve a greater good in someone else’s hands for a while. This is where the Spymaster comes in. Though of course, when said circumstances have passed, the Mandate must be returned to you.
Ability: One-shot, Night, target player receives the Mandate of Heaven if it has yet to be discarded, no matter where it may be. At the end of night, Mandate of Heaven will be returned to you if it has yet to be discarded.
~~~
Follower: Thousand-Face Servant
Note: A most skillful servant, it is a master of disguises with a thousand faces. So adept is it in the arts of mimicry that it can become anyone of any talent and training. Though to fully immerse itself into such a deception, it must abandon all pretenses of its original nature, and that can be difficult to return from.
Ability: One-shot, Discard, Day, you are given the name list of target player’s Followers. If that player has any Follower, you gain a copy of that Follower permanently. If that player has more than one Followers, you gain a copy of one of those Followers of your choice permanently.
Private Info: Thousand-Face Servant cannot be used to copy any Aide.
Name: Ecophagy
Alignment: Mafia
Title: The Forgemaster
Domain: Artificers, Blacksmiths, Sculptors and a half dozen other crafting professions collectively have the title of Forgemaster as their most esteemed and prestigious honor. Sadly, this often causes those conferred the title to be fully immersed in being a spokesperson dealing with political and economic affairs instead rather than continuing the crafts they love so much.
Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~
Artifact: Talisman
Note: It is a short strip of paper inscribed with sigils and runes of power.
~~~
Spell: Solemn Vow
Note: Among the most important of unspoken vows between craftsmen is the vow of brotherhood and kinship. This is the bond forged through the same profession, of an understanding based in the similar dangers, hardships and trials that have to be endured. That one would not take advantage of each other but will still come to the other’s aid.
Ability: An aide’s primary ability is nullified in your presence. Night, name an Aide. It will be returned to you at the end of Night if it has yet to be discarded.
~~~
Follower: Tactical Aide
Note: In the battlefield of military war as well as those of political nature, the Tactical Aide offers advices and suggestions that will both lengthen your lifespan and career. When its contract with you has ended however, at a time when the Aide deems fit, it will leave your service for another.
Ability: Transferable, your Lynch threshold is +1.
~~~
Follower: Political Aide
Note: Many would say politics are far more lethal a field of war as compared to any others. But fear not for Aide is here. With its help, you would have a far greater influence to exert as compared to before. Alas, the Aide works on a contract by contract basis, and will not stay long under your service.
Ability: Transferable, you have an additional vote.
Private Info: By “your presence”, it means everyone on your team.
Name: AlphaInsidious
Title: The Pirate King
Domain: Standing in the crow’s nest of your main warship, you looked out over your world. A violent vista of blue topped with frothing waves, ripped through by a fleet of warships with flocks of seagulls and schools of dolphins as constant companions. And you see a dream of gold and gems and ale and blades and blood overflowing.
Win Condition: Mafia must be equal to or more than non-Mafia.
~~~
Artifact: Spyglass
Note: A simple enough equipment, made from a series of interlocking metal tubes inserted with focusing lenses. It can be used to observe someone from far away without that person ever noticing, though more information might be gained if the person you are observing is careless enough not to cover its own tracks.
Ability: Night, watch target player. If that player has Vulnerability status, then watch and track instead.
~~~
Artifact: Ancient Pennant
Note: A truly beautiful creation, it was crafted using reality alloy as the core and entwining it with the magical distillation of the aspect of dread. Even when it remains hidden from sight, the emotional emanations it exudes washes all with a general sense of unease. It will only truly affect those weak of mind and spirit of course.
Ability: All players with Vulnerability status have a Lynch threshold of -1.
~~~
Follower: Sellsword
Note: You have a mercenary under your hire although it has made it clear it will not kill for you. A mercenary with a sense of honor. You almost rolled your eyes at that but you didn’t, since that can be rather undignified. Still, you have paid so you might as well have some use out of it.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, target player gains Vulnerability status.
Name: TheFooFish
Alignment: Neutral
Title: The First Arcanist
Domain: Among the wizards, you are the One. The rank of the First Arcanist is the most prestigious among a large majority of magic practitioners, because it is recognized by every single world government. But absolute power corrupts absolutely, and why stops at First Arcanist when you could have the world in the palms of your hands?
Win Condition: Be the only player alive.
~~~
Artifact: Seven Jewels
Note: Despite such a fancy name, the artifact is just a circular metal plate crafted from reality alloy. However, along the edges are seven depressions, each fitted with a translucent disc that will only be lit with an inner glow as it absorbs a very potent life force that has to be snuffed out via unnatural means.
Ability: You have an alternative win condition of gaining 7 charges for the Seven Jewels. Each charge can only be gained by killing another player via either an action or a hammer for a Lynch. Winning this way will remove you from the game to allow it to continue.
Charges: 0
~~~
Spell: Quencher
Note: Once used, the ritual compels. To take a life, you must devote yours. Quencher is the name of the spell that utilizes blunt trauma to literally quench the life force of another person, an assuredly most painful way to die. And you get to see blood fountains out of that person via blows dealt with magical sledgehammers.
Ability: Night, kill a player every odd night. This ability must be used if able, unless you have killed two players with Vulnerability status with it.
~~~
Spell: Interpretation
Note: To know one’s opponents is to gain an advantage over them. Interpretation is an offensive divinatory magic designed to violate a person’s spirit and expose that person’s influence as it is. While not exactly a battle-mage’s offensive spell of choice, it is far more useful for a wizard who appreciates the finer arts of subtlety.
Ability: Day, target player gains Vulnerability status. That player’s Title will be posted in the game thread. This ability may only be used every even day.
~~~
Follower: Seeker
Note: The Seeker is a very specific type of bounty hunter that sniffs out and hunts down one of the rarest and hardest to forge arcane metals in the world – the Reality Alloy. Artifacts crafted with it are downright esoteric or affect their surroundings in unexpected ways, thus making them valuable for true collectors and useless for everyone else.
Ability: One-shot, Night, choose an Artifact crafted from reality alloy from among the following list: Ancient Pennant, Questing Gem, Seven Jewels. You will steal that Artifact even if it was discarded, no matter where it may be.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

You invoked the inner enchantment of the Secret Script and peered down at the words that reformed on it with satisfaction.

Secret Script now has the following:
Message: I had 4 items
Subject T's head cocked to the side as if listening to something in the distant. Then without nary a sound, it slipped out of your sight. You adjusted your monocle and settled down to wait.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.

You have gained the Vulnerability status.
You are dead.

Your fingers picked at the air, moving in sequence to a tune only you could hear.
At the far end of the hall, desCoures seemed startled and suddenly discomfited by something. He kept clawing at his ears in irritation and looked around for its source.
You blew him a kiss in evil delight, not that he noticed it in his sudden onslaught by a pandemonium only he could hear.
~~~
You have successfully used Cackle of Crows on desCoures.
Birds were cawing everywhere. Around you. Within you. Reverberating through your skulls like a thousand avian gone mad.
You looked around wildly, trying to locate the source of the madness. Around you, everyone else didn’t seem to hear a single thing. It appeared to affect only you.
Even as you were attempting to claw out your ears, you wondered whether you had gone mad.
Moving around aimlessly trying to determine what the heck had happened, you stumbled upon another person. Good. Someone you could hopefully rely on to help you figure this madness out. The request for help died soundlessly on your lips even as a blade was rammed through the front of your throat to exit out from the other side.
Suddenly the highly irritating cawing of birds didn’t seem so irritating anymore.
All of your items have gained the Exhausted status for the night only.
You gripped the Orb within your hands and shook it in dismal. The lights within flickered uncertainly even after half a dozen times of you whispering “Aides” to it. In the end, you resorted to shouting at it, but the result was the same. After a few minutes more, the lights within winked out decisively and its message imparted into your head with no uncertain term that what you were looking for did not exist.
~~~
The Orb of Whispers informed you that there is no item known as “Aides” in the game.
You nearly sputtered in astonishment.
Shalako was in your line of sight. By all accounts, it should have been an easy task to invoke the spell successfully.
But.
It.
Failed.
There was something intangible preventing the spell from latching onto Shalako, despite the tremendous amount of power you put into it. The spell simply rebounded and dissipated into thin air.
You would have furrowed your brows were you still had any left.
~~~
You have failed to use Sojourn on Shalako.
Your presence beckoned like a living flame to the moth that is atlseal. His gaze seemed irresistibly locked onto you; his eyes slightly dazed. You suppressed a forming smirk and sashayed away to the side, knowing full well his every thought was on you.
It was while you were about to sit down that you noticed an additional artifact on your presence that you have never seen before. Curious, you picked it up to examine it, though it didn’t seem to be anything special.
~~~
You have successfully used Allure on atlseal.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Lidless Eye
Note: It is a piece of marble, carved in the likeness of a lidless eye. An exquisite craftsmanship to be certain. Almost certainly going to be worth a lot, judging from the way the almost lifelike eye seems to follow your every move. But closer inspection reveals that alas, it is as non-magical as it can be.
Ability: None.
A wisp of smoke flitted by your ear.
There was an echo of things ancient and forgotten.
You shook your head in irritation.
The same wisp seemed to sigh before echoing of its journey to follow one Arcadic. Apparently said person of interest was interested in another person as well.
You waved your hand in acknowledgment of a task performed admirably, and the wind whispered no more.
~~~
You have successfully used Djinn on Arcadic: Arcadic targeted Shalako for the night.
The artifact glowed in accordance to your thoughts as you moved your hands over it.
A likeness of Magwald was formed within the artifact itself even as you thought of him, before dispersing outward in a silent puff of air that seemed to extinguish both the glows as well as the image.
After a moment, a single spark of light appeared within the artifact as the recharge began anew.
The established bond for the night with Magwald felt amiable, leading you to believe that the protection was successfully established at least. Though whether it would be useful or not, you could tell not.
~~~
You have successfully used Insignia of the Wind on Magwald.
You eyed the Questing Gem critically.
It was giving you the impression of the number 6 in response to the inquiry you just sent into it.
Not that you were surprised. A conspiracy of this magnitude requires several people working in concert after all. Your own divinatory nature was reinforcing the notion that it was an accurate answer as any when the first blow struck.
Your head flinched to the side. Blood was dripping down the side your head in a steady stream that covered one of your eyes. Then another blow struck you; this time in your solar plexus. You let out a pained moan and collapsed to the floor. Another one. A sharp crack was heard as one of your arms twisted at an unnatural angle. One more. You crashed to the floor listlessly, your crushed throat gurgling as red fluid began filling it. And another. And another. And another. And another.
You weren’t even aware when you stopped caring in a haze of red and pain.
~~~
The Questing Gem informed you the number “6” in response to the question “How many players with only anti-town win conditions are currently alive?”
You are dead.
Your mind was in a haze.
You simply couldn’t get Vampyr out of your mind. In fact, even as you stared down at your hands in wonderment and curiosity at the mere existence of Vampyr, you realized that the spell you had just casted was probably intended for someone else and not glorious Vampyr.
In your hazy admiration however, the book in your hands began to change its content to… the same as its previous.
You have successfully used Clandestine on Vampyr.
The Black Book now has the following Alignment: Town
You arched up your brow in amusement and pleasant surprise. Your fingers tapped the side of your head in contemplation at the scene in front of you.
A figure bowed deeply in respect, offering his highly specialized service to you.
You graciously accepted the offer. Your reputation could only grow with such a valuable aid.
~~~
You have gained the following item:
Follower: Political Aide
Note: Many would say politics are far more lethal a field of war as compared to any others. But fear not for Aide is here. With its help, you would have a far greater influence to exert as compared to before. Alas, the Aide works on a contract by contract basis, and will not stay long under your service.
Ability: Transferable, you have an additional vote.
Your eyes glared coldly at your subordinate, who sheepishly mimed pummeling someone with its fists and muttered a name.
As your glare continued unabated, it leered back with a shrug and wandered off.
Apparently, these courteous nightly visits were not going to end any time soon.
~~~
You have successfully used Bouncer on AlphaInsidious.
It was a busy period.
Invoking the spell that reversed the laws of causality was a tricky business and while you have no control over its recipient, the spell was sufficiently powerful and useful enough that you believed you could risk it anyway.
Still, that could not compare to the thrill of stalking a prey through the open spaces of the hallways, in the midst of so many people milling about, with none of them the wiser about it.
So, when you found desCoures walking around, seemingly suitably distracted, you hesitated none at all and just plunged the blade into his throat and out of the other side.
It was a clean stroke.
And the blood spilled was minimal.
Before desCoures collapsed to the floor, you were already gone from the vicinity.
~~~
You have successfully used Decree on creampuffeater.
You have successfully killed desCoures.
It believed in you with a religious fervor.
All you needed to do was to guide it by its shoulder and pointed to creampuffeater wandering around like he owned the place.
In the span of a second, it darted forward, mouth frothing at the edges and eyes tinged with zealous madness.
You didn’t even bother to follow up.
It came back entirely too pleased for the result to have been otherwise.
~~~
You have successfully used Fanatic on creampuffeater.
Fanatic has gained the Exhausted status.
It was a request from one brother-in-arms to another.
It was all very efficient. No hassle. No complaints. Only understanding.
Within minutes, it had already packed up and left to serve another.
~~~
You have successfully transferred Political Aide to Axelrod.
The swordsman tipped its hat in acknowledgement at your order and left. Time to wait then.
When it came back, it told you bluntly that the contract had been fulfilled and no further work would be done to serve you. You frowned at the audacity of the tone. When all of this was over, perhaps you should see to throwing said swordsman to the sharks or something. Let it regretted ever offending you.
Still, it was a job well done, and you dismissed him as thus. Perhaps you shouldn’t have been too hasty in doing that though since the moment you turned around, you came face to face with a hulking brute.
It leered at you. Then it punched your face. Very hard. There were some repetitive motions involved, though you be damned if you could recall it over the haze of pain and bruises. In fact, you didn’t ever recall being bashed up that bad. When the brute finally left, you were a wreck.
But still you lived.

You have successfully used Sellsword on creampuffeater.
Sellsword has gained the Exhausted status.
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
Finding Wrath of DoG was the easy part. Waiting till he was alone was the difficult part.
Still, that moment did arrive, and that was when you struck with your spell.
He looked stunned at the first blow dealt to his head, and tried to blink away the blood flowing down his face in a steady stream. Then the spell triggered the subsequent blows and it was a glorious sight.
There were muffled screams. And the sounds of bones being broken. And the spurts of red that flew freely. And the mangling of flesh and everything that was once Wrath of DoG. At the end of it, there was only a pile of reddish mess on the floor, surrounded by a pool of blood.
In your grasp, one of the translucent discs on the artifact turned blood red in approval.
~~~
You have successfully used Quencher on Wrath of DoG.
Seven Jewels has gained the following Charges: 1
Groaning slightly and massaging your head from the weird night, you decided to get to work immediately just in case. Again, you modified the enchantment on the Secret Script and watched with bleary eyes as the letters rearranged themselves rapidly into the words you desired.
Secret Script now has the following Message: Titles are Important: 596
The Servant moved quietly through the halls, mingling among the occupants and smiling with dozens of different personalities.
And the last person it met was with you.
It bowed in front of you and muttered two names, in preparation for a total persona switch.
Magwald has the following followers:
Thousand-Face Servant has gained the Exhausted status.
Thousand-Face Servant has been discarded.
You have gained the following item:
Follower: Bouncer
Note: It smacks its fist into its palm and leers at everyone that walks by. A total brute, with all muscles and no brain, but it serves its function rather well. It does have the propensity to go around at nights thrashing up any poor unfortunate souls whom it perceives to be weak and in need of a good beating.
Ability: At the end of every Night, the living player with the least amount of total posts will gain Vulnerability status. This ability could be used repeatedly on the same player.
A breath.
A whisper.
A focusing of will.
And you stared intently at Magwald as the result unfolded.
You have successfully used Interpretation on Magwald.
Something had irrevocably changed within you.
You feel violated and exposed.
You feel weak and dirty.
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
Your attention partially on the arguments still being debated, you frowned thoughtfully and made another arcane tweak to the Script's message.
Secret Script now has the following Message: Titles: 596 1239
You snapped your fingers theatrically. Not that it was needed, mind you, but you just felt that it was appropriate.
And this time there was no hazy sensation. Only crystal clear thoughts as you magically shifted the Lidless Eye to another of your peers.
And in response to your spell, the book shifted its content to exactly the same word. Well, you thought rather disappointedly, that was rather unexciting.
You have successfully used Clandestine on Rafaelk.
The Black Book now has the following Alignment: Town
Fantastic charisma. Check.
Unparallel attraction. Check.
Irresistible lure. Check.
Arcadic drooling slightly, staring at you. Uber-creepy. Better get out of sight while you could.
You absent-mindedly traced the Lidless Eye artifact that you have secreted into one of your pockets, only to discover that it was gone. You frowned. There was a new one there though. You took it out to examine it carefully, and recoiled in shock.
~~~
You have successfully used Allure on Arcadic.
You have lost the artifact known as Lidless Eye.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Phylactery
Note: It looks like an unbreakable crystal shard that pulses with an angry red light. It feels like a block of ice that drains all heat. It sounds like the flutter of wings trapped into a confined space. It is, without a single doubt, a container for a human soul. And you flinch from it in horror.
Ability: Your Lynch threshold is -2.
With a flourish of its hat, the Seeker presented to you your heart’s desire.
With confidence, the Seeker assured you that none noticed it took the Questing Gem.
With a smirk, the Seeker took its leave of you, to continue enjoying the unfolding drama that was yet to come.
~~~
You have successfully used Seeker on Questing Gem.
Seeker has gained the Exhausted status.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Questing Gem
Note: Ask a question and you shall receive an answer. The Questing Gem is not exactly a gem but a magical amalgation of reality alloy and divinatory magic fused into one. While it certainly gives answers in the form of cryptic numbers, how reliable it is remains to be seen. All its previous owners swore by it however.
Ability: Night, ask any question and the Questing Gem’s answer will be given in numbers. Please determine the validity of a question first since invalid question will always give ‘42’ as the answer.
You wiped the drool from your mouth and blinked. There was something you planned to do.
You… yes… Vampyr… Wait.
You shook your head to clear the haze and frowned. You wanted to use Sojourn on Sepiriel, not Vampyr!
But still, you let out a sigh of admiration. Vampyr was such a wondrous glorious being that you couldn’t stop… Vampyr… drool…
You have failed to use Sojourn on Sepiriel.
You have successfully used Sojourn on Vampyr.
You have lost the artifact known as Phylactery.
One of your hands stroked The Toad carefully, which was warbling in tune to your caress. The other picked at the air, weaving another melody known only to you.
dropkickdude just gazed lifelessly at something in the far corner. The only response you could ascertain was the twitching of his ears at some unseen sounds that only he could perceive. Oh, he wasn’t as fun as your target of the previous night. You felt rather disappointed in yourself.
The Toad warbled a single note, interrupting your thoughts.
You glanced downward at it. Right next to your caressing hand, was a relic that wasn’t there before. You stared at it in surprise before carefully examining it.
~~~
You have successfully used Cackle of Crows on dropkickdude.
You have successfully used The Toad: Cackle of Crows will be repeated against dropkickdude every night until the end of game.
The Toad has gained the Exhausted status.
You have gained the following item:
Artifact: Stones of Communion
Note: The Stones of Communion is a powerful communication relic that allows a group of people with similar goals to act in synch even under impossible situations. While the relic itself has a tendency to be attracted to the most influential person, it cannot be disabled until everyone originally linked to it is dead or the relic itself is destroyed.
Ability: Mafia has daytalk. This Artifact will automatically be given to the player with the highest amount of total posts at the end of night.
This time there was an answer.
The Orb whispered to you a single name, repeating your request, before a stream of information came forth, detailing the innermost secrets of the item known as Devourer.
Then the lights of the Orb of Whispers blinked out decisively, its task done, and you sat back to muse over the knowledge gained.
That was probably why you missed the first blow aimed at your face. You certainly did not miss the subsequent follow-ups that were aimed at every weak spot on your body. By the time it was done, and the assailant swaggering away in satisfaction, you felt totally wrecked and was trying your best to stop the content of your own stomach emptying onto the floor. Or was it two assailants? Maybe it was five. Or ten.
Oh gawd, the pain made it really hard to think straight. You vomited anyway.
~~~
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
You have successfully used Orb of Whispers on “Devourer”.
You have gained information about the following item:
Follower: Devourer
Note: It is not a pet. The Devourer, as its name describes, is actually magical chimera that is capable of devouring a weakened being’s essence. When it latches on and makes a connection with its victim, it erects a stasis field that wards off everything. The tragic thing is that it only selectively devours a non-tainted essence.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, roleblock target player with Vulnerability status. That player cannot be targeted by any other actions tonight. Kill that player if the alignment is town.
An apparition stood before you.
Slightly translucent, almost invisible, and certainly insubstantial.
There were whispers of a single person who was interested in another person.
Of a journey made and done, of a trail followed and ended, of a task seen and performed. It was all cryptic words and half-formed thoughts. But one thing remained clear, for you knew who RobRoy was interested in.
Then the apparition wavered and was gone. A smoke carried away by the wind. And your ring hummed in response.
~~~
You have successfully used Djinn on RobRoy: RobRoy targeted dropkickdude for the night.
You tapped your fingers against the flat surface in front of you. Hopefully, Wolf with a Bass would notice the gift you have dropped off for him soon enough. Though at the moment, you have a bigger fish to fry, metaphorically speaking.
Your subordinate stood in front of you, leering grin unabated as it recounted its activities. Its chest puffed upward, its hands animated and its face delighted. So glad it thought this whole situation was amusing, you mused sourly.
~~~
You have successfully transferred “Tinker and Tools” to Wolf with a Bass.
You have successfully used Bouncer on Infinis.
You have successfully used Bouncer on RobRoy.
You noted absently as the artifact was triggered in sparks of light that dispersed into thin air. Ecophagy should be protected tonight, judging from the successfully established bond, though you couldn’t be certain as to its usefulness. But that was not what interested you right now.
Because somehow one way or another without your notice, someone had just handed to you the incantation keys to a single temporal enchantment. And it looked to be a rather interesting one, though that meant your workload had just increased.
Decisions decisions.
~~~
You have successfully used “Insignia of the Wind” on Ecophagy.
You have gained the following item:
Spell: Tinker and Tools
Note: An enchantment that cycles the state of an existence back to a previous state. Due to the chaotic nature of temporal magic, spells like this are severely regulated and restricted. There is no denying that if such an enchantment is properly applied, the benefits could be tremendous. Alas, some people are not interested in only benefits.
Ability: Transferable, Discard, Night, remove all Exhausted status from target player’s Artifacts, Spells and Followers.
You were all ready for a night of red and gory. Your target was in sight. dropkickdude was sitting listlessly in a quiet corner staring at nothing in particular. The Red Baton was almost eager, almost trembling with the anticipation. And about a dozen feet from dropkickdude, the Baton went dead.
You paused.
The weapon seemed almost reluctant to move near your target somehow, a very strange thing considering its bloody nature. In fact, if you ascertain carefully, the Baton seemed somewhat eager to get away. Feeling confused, you did just that and moved away, scratching your head in bemusement. You shrugged and decided to just keep the weapon into its sheath, maybe figuring out the entire issue in your own sweet time.
You paused.
Something was in your weapon sheath. Something that was certainly not the Red Baton since the weapon was still in your hands. You curiously grabbed that something and held it up to the light. It was a crafted eye. You narrowed your eyes at it before your own thoughts were interrupted by a soft gurgle.
You paused.
Then you ran. And you skidded round the corner. Your Journeyman was lying on the floor, half-dead, with the entire front half of his clothing bathed in red. Damn it all. You hurriedly checked its condition and helped heal it in whatever way you could. It would live. But one thing was for certain, it would never be able to help you again in its current condition.

You concentrated. You could feel the manipulation of light coalescing into something almost solid around dropkickdude. Then you let go and the entire structure crystallized in your mind.
dropkickdude had a blank expression on his face, gazing at the far wall in an almost absent manner that people certainly won’t notice was unnatural. You smiled in satisfaction at a job well done and then you walked away.
In fact, you was still smiling as a punch greeted your face. Or two. Or twenty. You couldn’t tell really. It was a flurry of blows that seemed to come in every direction. Was your assailant a single person? Were your assailants a group of people? The only thing you were aware of is the amount of blows that endlessly landed on your body, intending on giving you bruises and pain.
You weren’t even aware when it was over. You could only clench your eyes shut and bite your lips, trying to make sense of which way was up and which way was down.
You were still alive, albeit as a broken man.

Something must be wrong. Why didn’t your Political Aide come back into your service and meet you?

The Stones were gone. As you knew it would. Still, it was all for the best that it now had a new owner.
Your lips curled cruelly with that thought as you rammed the blade into your target’s neck. He flailed. He gurgled. He was still alive, but that would end soon.
You narrowed your eyes.
Wait.
You pulled the blade out. The body collapsed to the floor, still gurgling weakly. He was not Rafaelk. It was a… It was a no one! You nearly screamed in rage at being misdirected. Some low-life had just taken a kill meant for your target. You were about to ram that blade straight into its head to vent your frustration when you heard footsteps running closer.
Dammit.
You fled. Your mind was nearly incoherent at being denied your kill. Reaching a safe location, you collapsed onto the floor to rest and fume. A minute or so later, your new subordinate found you and began regaling tales of how fruitful its activities were. You couldn’t really care at this point, but you listened.
And while you listened, you continued to plot murders.

You have failed to use Solemn Vow on “Political Aide”.
You let out a soft hum under your breath and modified the writings on the Secret Script once more, squeezing in one final last word to complete a full quartet.
~~~
Secret Script now has the following Message: Titles: 596, 692, 559
The spot of light in the weave of life where he should be.
Reveal.
Expose.
Deconstruct.
Name.
Know the being known as Axelrod.
~~~
You have successfully used Interpretation on Axelrod.
Something was wrong.
You struggled to breath.
The physical pain was gone.
The phantom pain was not.
There was a weakness tingeing your every being.
You twitched, startled by shadows only you could perceive.
Something had irrevocably damaged you.
And you felt utterly exposed.
~~~
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
You hated being reduced to this pathetic state.
Again and again, it felt as if you kept pining after an unrequited love. Again and again, the only response was cold detached silence. And with each passing moment, the flicker of hope within you died bit by tiny bit.
At least, you thought comfortingly, there was still one subordinate that stood by you. Even now, said subordinate approached you, offering
you something that it had found on the floor that you apparently missed earlier.
It was an exquisite carving of an extremely life-like marble eye.
~~~
You have failed to use Solemn Vow on “Political Aide”.
You stalked through the hall, furiously gritting your teeth. Stealth was not an issue. There were already pockets of area with corpses that the rest avoided, and the survivors comprised only half the original number. You would go so far as to claim it as a just a happy jaunt was it not for a single problem.
The cackling of avians gone mad were vibrating around in your head, crowding out all other thoughts. The only thing that kept you going in search of your prey were sheer anger and the need to see this murder through.
Your Mandate had utterly failed you, its protection somehow diminished with something incredibly potent. All you had a glimpse of was a single pair of yellow eyes darting through the shadows. Almost immediately after, everything began to go wrong.
When you found Wolf with a Bass, there was not much fanfare. He was kneeling over something and immediately stood up upon noticing your presence. Nary had a single word left his mouth before you rammed a blade right through his throat, all the way to its hilt. Wolf with a Bass died with his eyes bulging and his mouth trickling blood.
It would have been glorious were it not for the still screaming birds flapping around in your mind. It was then you realized you had erred badly. Someone had been following you moments after you left behind Wolf with a Bass’ still warm body.
It must be those stupid birds, you thought bleakly, before seeing a large red rod caving your nose into your skill. Your life ended amidst the still cawing birds and the painful sensation of having your entire body broken and bled dry.

Grim. Stoic. Deadly.
In front of you stood a man, which with a single breath could have lopped off your head without a single blink.
But it did no such thing. It merely bowed its head at you, respect in its eyes, offering its service to you. Here was a man who would be willing to kill for you and you alone.
Pretty funny how the day had came to this. Maybe you attracted far too much attention? Working your charms, you only expected Axelrod to be
ensnared by it, but apparently you had gained the contract of a killer along the way.
~~~
You have successfully used Allure on Axelrod.
You have gained the following item:
Follower: Executioner
Note: When the Executioner comes a calling, the Grim Reaper stalks the land. It has a gruff no-nonsense attitude, fantastic in its line of job, with the capacity to kill even the most powerful of individuals. Its term of contract only allows you a single kill however, and then it is off to vacation someplace with lots of alcohol.
Ability: Transferable, One-shot, Night, kill target player.
You exhaled with a sigh, barely able to keep the lid on your excitement. For the first time since trapped in this hellish hole, the Black Book had offered up different information.
Eyes widened in cautious disbelief, you carefully scanned its content again. This really was happening. Ecophagy was indeed one of the parties responsible for this entire mess.
It was time for him to die.
~~~
You have successfully used Clandestine on Ecophagy.
The Black Book now has the following Alignment: Mafia
This was seriously a really bad day.
For one, you were daydreaming about Vampyr. Somehow. You didn’t care to speculate why, but some sort of trickery must have been involved.
You couldn’t believe you somehow missed how awesome Vampyr was before. He was so fascinating. The way he moved. The way he spoke. The aura he exuded. The trail of his-
Wait.
You shook your head and tried to concentrate. You were about to hand over a contract for one of your subordinate to... Vampyr. That’s right. The godly being that was Vampyr. If only you could worship the very grounds he walked on.
You let out a happy sigh.
You have also somehow lost all your political acuity and connections. You couldn’t make head or tail of the influences you could wield or if
you even had it in the first place at all. You knew it was there but it seemed to be just out of your grasp.
You frowned with distaste. All this nonsense doesn’t befit your status at all. Still, you had Vampyr to admire and that’s good enough for you.
You let out another happy sigh.
~~~
You have failed to transfer “Executioner” to Magwald.
You have successfully transferred “Executioner” to Vampyr.
You have lost your vote(s) for the day.
A droplet of blood slid down your lips, along your chin and dropped to the floor. Drip. A splotch of red. You wiped the trail away weakly with the back of your hands. This was painful, even as you struggled to move and urged yourself forward. The call of the Red Baton must be obeyed.
You felt something within your body gave in. You paused. You winced. That didn’t feel good. Earlier, some humongous brute of a person suddenly ambushed you and began to pummel you without any rhyme or reason. Apparently it simply hit you for the unholy joy of it. You spat at the thought and then trembled.
Gawd, that experience was literally pain incarnate.
Then you found your quarry and all thoughts fled your head. The Baton practically hummed in your hands. It trembled with anticipation at the sight of him, seemingly urging to you to move faster and faster.
Shalako looked so occupied and agitated, walking around absent-mindedly like that. It was with a certain sort of vindictive glee as the weapon’s first blow caved Shalako’s nose into his face. Then the smashing began, as you proceeded to break and bleed everything that was Shalako.
~~~
You have successfully used Red Baton on Shalako.
You have gained the Vulnerability status.
The Gem pulsed once in contemplation.
The answer to everything was being sought.
Then it offered you a simple “0”.
Huh, you thought, that was indeed a curious response.
Maybe you should ask it about the future winning lottery tickets.
Not that you would ever deign to lower yourself to such things of course.
~~~
The Questing Gem informed you the number “0” in response to the question “At the start of the game, how many town aligned players had an item that allowed them to permanently gain a copy of a Follower as part of its effect?”
You traced out the ritual again, invoking upon its authority.
The weave of power that tingled beneath your grasps made you shudder in ecstasy.
You carved out a path of bonds, this time in between Axelrod and yourself.
The trembling of energies surging erratically from one source to another made you feel simply alive.
You snapped the loci into place, the runes etched into the fabric of existence, and focused.
Blood. Red. Dominance. Control. Supremacy.
Your eyes snapped open as reality restructured itself.
Axelrod’s influence was yours truly.
~~~
You have successfully used Blood Pact on Axelrod.
You have an additional vote for the day.

You waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Your sweet feline friend darted in front of Shalako, startling him for the briefest of second before lunging into the shadows again.

You have successfully used Cackle of Crows and The Black Cat on Shalako.
The Black Cat has gained the Exhausted status.
A single hand mimed a lone person walking slowly.
The other hand smashed down hard on it.
The first hand flinched away and mimicked a flattened pose.
The second hand repeatedly smacked the first one in glee.
It was a crude deep throaty laughter that mocked the rough makeshift drama.
You rolled your eyes for the countless time.
If the saliva kept splattering onto your face like that, you would seriously get up to do some serious hurt.

It was nice to be pretty good on reads after the Alpha debaucle. Good job almost selling that fake-claim.
Fun game, Dagger; I really enjoyed it. I thought the mechanics were nicely done and well thought-out.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
Well done again, Dagger.
Good Game, Thanks Dagger
Good job everyone.
Kill it with fire!!!!
In all seriousness though, nice job with the fake investigation claim, that really took some chutzpah and sent me scrambling.
And a hearty congratulations as well to the town, TFF, and Dagger for making a complex and fascinating game.
My fake claim was based around meta from our play together in Annorax's game. You were playing differently here, so I assumed you were scum. It was a risky gambit, but it payed off in the end.
Fun game, great set up.
Well played by everyone.
DAMN YOU SEP WHY DID YOU KILL ME
edit: So that is who mag was.
I Figured it was likely to be you or Keifru because of the role playing.
Or you know...Naka
I personally loved the flavor of this game, well done Dagger

Zomg, I totally didn't expect you. I suppose the roleplaying thing should have given it away, but I really though you were Red_0mega. Drat.
