In my opinion, limited has really impressed me as you have to think a lot when you play. There are also so many archetypes in limited because the interactions are really well designed. This will also help lower the amount it costs to obtain chase rares because I believe the set will be heavily drafted but not as much as Zendikar.
Allright, well, looks like liliana is officially at $45 now. (Cheapest ebay buy it now is above that allready). Looks like online stores have them for $50+ now from those that have it in stock anyway. Given how rediculously they have sold I think I may have to say to heck with it, and just raise mine to $50 and call it good and see what happens. (Normally I would just put it at $45 for now and then raise later, but its been selling so fast Ive been cracking boxes and then immediately selling them, they have been so popular.) I dont know what to tell you, but I think we may see the first solid $50 planeswalker (across the internet and including ebay) since JTMS given another day or two if the current trend continues. Im not suggesting it will hit JTMS levels (at all), but $50 seems like a fair target in the short term for the card at the current time.
I really doubt that. I think some cards were undervalued, including Liliana, a lot of the Werewolves, and some under the radar cards like Heartless Summoning. It isn't likely to continue except for a few cards. Most other singles are stable or drifting lower already. The set just came out a day ago, and a lot of people don't get their product until this week, and then begin opening it and sorting etc. Give it a few more days.
What are people's thoughts on Daybreak? Was it all Kibler fixing the market with hype, or did they show up in a deck and do crushing things at SCG this weekend?
Dunno but demand went way up along with prices this weekend.
(previous tallies are located in the following posts: 2, 23)
As it goes on sale to the public, many cards gain favour with players and move up in price:

(Key: The card's most recent move is the rightmost one. This indicates the hottest mover of the update. indicates no movement. is a card that wasn't on the list last update. The data is taken from here.)
32 cards are worth over $2.50 (about the price I pay for a booster pack), which is worth noting.
Liliana has gone up by over 50% to hit $47 and could still be on the rise. Snapcaster holds tight way down at $26. The mythics Garruk and Geist also held at their price points of $23 and $17, however Skaab Ruinator has lost value recently. The dual land cycle goes for about $6 or $7 per card, and is essentially died with Olivia Voldaren which has risen sharply. Just below that is Heartless Summoning, which has sold well for me and is clearly hot on eBay. Watch for it to make another move from here if tournament results are favourable.
Now in no particular order, Stromkirk Noble was the biggest gainer in the past few days, more than doubling in price. Daybreak Ranger has done similarly, but I'm not so sure it's deserved. There was some artificial pumping done, from what I've read. Mayor of Avabruck has done very well, and as I've said, it's one of the cheapest lords in the game, and for one of the largest tribes. Casual goodness! Champion of the Parish has also looked strong. Cards not holding their value thus far have been Mikaeus, Tree, Grimoire, Essence, Grimgrin, and Parallel Lives.
Commons and uncommons - not much to report at this time. So far the buying on my site has been speculators for the most part I think (and they tend to go for rares and mythics). When I have more data on commons and uncommons I'll update the thread.
I was working the SCG booth on the Standard day at SCG Indy with Ben and I sold more Lilianas than any other cards, hands down. I saw a stack 4 inches thick at the beginning of the day and by the end of the day it was less than an inch thick. We were selling them at $35 and I probably sold a playset every half hour. Snapcasters were really hot too, but I think Isolated Chapel might have actually been hotter. EVERYONE was building Solar Flare (of course, this led to instant selling out of Nihil Spellbomb and Surgical Extraction within the first hour of sales). Sulfur Falls was really popular too, and Daybreak Ranger and Bloodline Keeper both moved a fair amount. Bloodgift Demon and Heartless Summoning were almost wholly stagnant, which somewhat surprised me. I probably sold fewer copies of Woodland Cemetery than any other dual, ironically as it had the most hype.

Awesome to see information like this, especially when it mirrors a lot of what I was seeing. As of now, the two hottest cards in the set for me have been Isolated Chapel (#1), and Liliana of the Veil (close #2), followed by a ton of the werewolf cards, and white weenie cards. The vampire cards one of which was mentioned above, has been increasing in popularity as well, along with various zombie cards as well (people do love their tribal).
Just because I was curious I went and checked liliana again. Looks like another round of buying went in and took out all of the US-based buy it nows below $49 (shipped), only ones less than that now are 3 from malaysia, and 2 from canada, online stores are solidly at $50 at the low, and even those are getting harder to find at that price. Looking at completed listings alone, its clear that $45 is what people are more than willing to pay, I think I may stick with my $50 number for now, and see what happens. If they continue to sell, then clearly it was a good decision, otherwise, at least Ill be able to make progress on actually getting the card stocked back up again finally :p.
Solar flare is clearly the most popular deck out of the gates though, Ive sold more cards for that deck than any other, will be interesting to see what the format looks like when the dust settles.
0mgz, Liliana 2.0 is t3h n3w J@c3 TM$$$. Qiz4rd$, stop killing teh game with mythix!
In all seriousness, I was watching Liliana's price from Friday, where I was looking for my 4th, to Saturday, while watching SCG coverage, to Sunday, after I'd sucked it up and bought a 4th "at value."
Is anyone actually confused about this or is there some tech that people are saving for next weekend? Solar Flare did not perform as expected at Indy, and after hearing several player's playtest results and watching Solar Flare only go 50/50 against Kibler's untuned mid-range Daybreak Ranger monstrosity, I don't think its %s go up as people expect it more.
I think Liliana is actually pretty busted (re: footage from SCG of watching a Tempered Steel player get Liliana Locked), but is Solar Flare the actual deck people are betting on or have people been exploring other avenues?
Snapcaster's price won't be coming down for a little while, as it performed to expectation (well, mine anyway ) this weekend.

Haha, sorry if it looks like Im going all crazy hype machine for liliana :p. Its just crazy seeing how quickly they have been selling for me, and watching it continue to go up in value as I attempt to keep up. I dont forsee it going above $50 to be honest, as much as I like the card I dont see it being in Jace territory as far as brokenness.
Snapcaster was hot the first day, and then stopped selling. Ive had a couple traded in from people who simply dont care about the card, but otherwise its been pretty quiet all around. I think people are holding onto them in case they do turn out to be as good as advertised, and/or plan to use them in a deck of some kind, or they are holding off buying them in hopes they will drop so they can save a little money.
Definitely an interesting set, and as I mentioned before, seems to have a lot more potential to it than originally thought, which is always good :).
Liliana might be going up because EVERYONE is building Solar Flare. I sold more T2 Esper manabases than any other lands on Saturday. The price increase honestly is just hype and sheer volume of orders. The percentage of Solar Flare on Saturday was huge, but it takes a really good list to do well, and a lot of lists aren't good because they overload on the Reanimator part of the deck. Snapcaster performed pretty well in Legacy, but I'm not sure about Standard.
For people like Malacoda and Jeff, how well has Stromkirk Noble been selling?
It seems like there are a few left at $4-5, but some auctions are ending/selling closer to $6 each. My local was selling them for $4 each, and had a couple left over at the end of the day, and people were willing to trade them at $3-4.

I was actually just about to come back and edit my post to add Stromkirk. I sold them pretty consistently and SCG had them at $3.50. They were among the better selling cards. I think my friend Dayv's red deck is going to lead to significant price gains in the cards.
BTW, I don't sell regularly for a store. I just happened to be working at the sales booth for SCG on Saturday at Indy. I had a fair number of people buy Bloodline Keeper and very few buy Olivia Voldaren.

Its been selling well, though not liliana/isolated chapel well, and Ive had several people buying them telling me they were expecting it to go up. After checking ebay, and online stores it looks like $6 is about the new going rate for the card (goes to update the price again). Lol, I just checked liliana again, ebay really hasnt changed (a couple singles available at $45-$47 shipped) and then $50 for basically all other listings and anything in multiples, however tcgplayer has 1 available at $50, and the rest are all $60+ now. This is just getting silly. I still stick by it likely topping out and stabilizing for now at around $50, but it looks like other online stores are feeling the same massive selling trends some of us have been, and are raising their prices accordingly (if they arent sold out) to keep up with the increases.

I know, I meant to ask for your opinion based on the day you were selling and your observations. Thank you for remembering that. Same for you Jeff, I was surprised at how quickly this card reached Goblin Guide's price range in a matter of days whereas it took GG a bit longer.
I think the next time we're going to see any stabilization in pricing for INN will be after States, unless lots more people from Release Events have extra cards they're trying to ship in an amount that actually gives the market some equilibrium.
@jeff -- no targeting meant at all; Liliana spent the whole weekend rising in value. I actually got sniped in a $35 BIN for one, of all things. I just wanted to throw the jab in there for the impending future of Mythic/Planeswalker/Magic cards value complaint threads that are sure to follow with the stable ~$30 on Snapcaster and jump in Liliana prices.
Out of curiosity - is the best way for an average joe to move his money INN cards through Ebay? I'm not interested in holding out on my snappers and walkers to see where they go, I'd be happy at this value, but I have had pretty poor luck selling them here on MTGS. Any advice?

I like to protect frightened things perhaps. I assembled them in the fortress of beefitude for safety.
The popularity of Solar Flare has made brewing decks that share a color with it much more expensive than previously thought. Isolated Chapel is sold out nearly everywhere in my city, and half the people in Type II tournaments here are bouncing Liliana with Sun Titan.
While that deck isn't without its merit, as I consider it a creative and fun deck, it isn't even that good to begin with, it'll die when people realize that both Trinket Mage and Nihil Spellbomb are Standard legal.
Money-wise, I find it ridiculous that Liliana has reached JTMS-level prices while being much narrower and less useful and splashable. Again, I see it tanking after people bring hate to States.
To be fair, one $25 rare out of dozens of sets where most rares didn't crack the $2 level, and none cracked the $10, doesn't mean power is balanced amongst the rarities.
Jeff, I've joined you at $50 on Liliana. I'm reluctant to raise it higher unless I feel it has fully proved itself on the tournament scene, or eBay prices going above $55 force my hand.
As for Stromkirk, I did report on that a day or two ago. It's selling moderately well for me and has doubled in price since the prerelease.
EDIT: More than doubled, pardon me. I had it at $2.50 then, and it's nearing $7 now.

Agreed, I think $50 is a good price to sit on it at for now, and wait and see what happens, if it continues selling like it has been (which would be rediculous btw) then Ill consider going higher, but otherwise Id have to see it go up a bit more on ebay before I would consider raising it as well. All these price fluxuations (thankfully most are up! ), have been allmost requiring me to check every few hours to see if anything has changed with the set.
As others have mentioned Im sure things will begin to stabilize a lot after states and once people see what works and what doesnt for the new format.
(im hoping i say this right so it doesnt get infracted again ._.)
what was the price of olivia there?
