Games I've won: Club Flamingo, and some others... I think.
Also, following our Flamingodraft, the next Flamingo MTG event will be BYO Sealed!
Not sure when, but if you're interested these things get organized over the irc. Check out #flamingopunk sometime!
EDIT: Also, Diefi00 has been officially assigned The Magic Wars. He will lead that game with NotoriousLynx, the creator of the game. Lynx isn't currently a clan member, which normally would disqualify him from organizing a contest, but I am making a special exception because of the great desire to reboot his game.
Diefi00 wants a third organizer for this game! If you're interested please post saying so! This is the game we are looking to deploy in March, so getting planning underway sooner rather than later is important.

I'm Handsome, smart, cunning, and better than Megiddo. I'm truly just the most perfect being ever. Did I say I was better than Megiddo? I plan to dethrone him on the Eyes of March, but don't tell him that. Outside of my dreams I'm a fairly competitive player with a few Ptq top 8's and Grand Prix Day 2's. I like to brew and just play the game. I don't know what life would be without it. Oh ya. I'm better than Megiddo and don't you forget it.

I require independent verification of these claims.
Also I said this in the chat but I am only going to things involving updating the OP once per day. Otherwise I might go insane. So you will be added tomorrow, diefi00.

i'm not much of a card designer per-se, however i have done 4 sets and am working on a fifth, I'm sure if you're gravitated towards the CC areas of the forums you may have seen and or already commented on my custom sets. If you have not, go look if ya wanna, comment if ya wanna, whatever. i particularly design based entirely top-down. with worlds in my mind.
However, I am now requesting a friendship between Flamingo and myself. (if you'd like to friend the [PACK] as well, that's up to you, but i say ask Silence or Seth first ^^)

Hey let's keep Moss_Elemental in the loop on the YMTC. So I think the PM list for that when we move to the next stage should be Piar, void_nothing, Megiddo, Moss_Elemental, and myself.
"Some Political Snark Name"* Or something about snowballs
The rules are simple:
1) Each player posts a restriction accompanied by a card that fulfils it.
2) Submitted cards are judged in a public poll.
3) The player with the lowest score is dropped.
4) The player with the highest score's restriction becomes mandatory.
5) Play continues as above, accumulating restrictions with each round.

Yes, that's true, and in keeping with my policy of involving the creator of a game with its revamping.
Piar: Make sure to get a hold of M_E regarding YMTC.
EDIT: I like CC's game.
Another Edit: As you may be aware we are working on a custom core set, found here.
One thing that I brought up was the fact that modern blocks are built to have some synergy. Recently this has expanded to include the core sets. In M12, cards like Call to the Grave, Vengeful Pharaoh, and Visions of Beyond (among others) were printed to have some synergy with the graveyard themes of Innistrad.
For Core Flamingo I would like to do this as well. However, to do that, we need to explore potential mechanical/flavorful themes for the next expert-level block that would immediately follow Core Flamingo. Any ideas? Let us know!

I like this, but I would recommend that we have a cap at around 6-8 players. Even at those numbers, the last few rounds would have five or seven restrictions, and with that many things having to be obeyed, the game would start to get a little predictable. I dare not imagine what 32 players would look like.

I would like to recommend, since Channel is already one of the mechanics of Core Flamingo, the next block could be a 'hand matters' block.

32 is probably a little excessive, but the simple solution is to vary the number of players who are dropped after each round. Bottom 10%, for instance. It's quite a flexible system.
The fantastic thing about the restrictions is that they are self-regulating. The meta-goal is to keep design space open for you, but make it as hard as possible for everybody else to design winning cards. It follows, then, that situations where players are painted into a metaphorical corner should - in theory - be few and far between.
One thing that came up at some point was the using enchantments as the next block. This would possibly use self-reanimating Auras, things like Lumithread Field and enchantment creatures in the form of Halcyon Glaze. Feel free to discuss.
It's not terribly well updated, but you can find it in the toolbar 2 buttons to the right of Forums.
This is just a small idea, but possibly we can clean up the wiki a bit? My only complaint about the wiki is that it doesn't integrate well with the forums - you'd have to create a brand-new account to deal with it.
A community project we might do next year/late 2012, IMO.
I could definitely lend a hand, the other problem with it is that most information is at least two years old, and sporadic in its existence. Clans is particularly noticeable as a wiki section.
Agreed. With so little clan members on right now, let's wait until Megiddo sees this.
Hidy-ho!
My name is DigicoolDad, and I will be hosting the first Clans Contest of 2012! What will we be doing? Why, creating our very own Mascot! Huzzah!
"But Digi, what exactly is a Mascot?"
Google defines a mascot as a person or thing used for luck or to symbolize an organization. You know those guys at sports functions, wearing fur suits, jumping around and getting the crowd excited? Or that green giant on the side of your creamed corn? Those are examples of what a Mascot is.
Each participating clan will be required to submit a short story and an image of their newly created Mascot via PM to myself before or upon deadline by each paricipating clan's rep.
The given time frame for Clan reps to submit their Mascot will be exactly two (2) weeks from this post.
The given time frame for Clan reps to submit their judging results will be exactly three (3) weeks from this post.
That's two (2) weeks to submit your Mascot, and one (1) week to judge the other Mascots.
Late entries to either the submission or judging round will be penalized as per Clans Contest Rules. If an extension is to be granted by Clans Contest Rules for either the entry submissions or judging round, an additional fourty-eight hour "procastinating clans deadline" will be imposed. If tardy clan reps fail to submit an entry to me by either "procrastinating clans deadline", it will result in their clan being disqualified from this contest.
Submission Guidelines:
Criteria for the short story:
Each short story is to be about the newly created Mascot, and it's origin and/or an account depicting how the newly created character became the participating clan's respected Mascot. Each story must be all ages appropriate.
Criteria for the image:
The image of each clan Mascot should clearly show said Mascot, and be all ages appropriate. Since not every clan is home to artists or even people with shopping skills, each clan can procure the representing image in any way they wish, so long as they adhere to normal Sally rules. Official trade-marked logos of any sort and/or images of real team/corporate mascots will result in failing to earn any points for the image judging section. This includes any official mascot of anything. From School Tony the Tiger, (mascot of Kellog's Frosted Flakes), to Steely McBeam, (mascot for the Pittsburgh Steelers), no official mascot image of any kind may be used.
Judging:
Each clan's submission will be graded on a twenty-two (22) point scale by each participating clan, broken down into four sections. Each clan will judge each section on a zero (0) to five (5) point scale, with an additional point awarded to best overall story and best overall picture. Zero (0) of course being the lowest possible score, and five (5) being the highest, (six [6] in the image and story grading sections).
The winner will be determined by the clan with the overall highest, averaged score from each participating clan.
Ties will be treated as ties, as per Rianalnn's suggested Tie-Breaker Standardization.
These are the questions that must be considered for grading each section for each entry.
-Story:
Was the story an enjoyable read? Was it well written? Did you think about it after you read it? Is the story original/creative? Was this the best overall story submission?
-Image:
Does the image represent the Mascot well? Do you think the image had a lot of work put into trying procure it? Was this the best overall image?
-Clan Factor:
Does the Mascot clearly represent what you percieve about it's submitting Clan after seeing the picture, and reading the story? Does the entry make sense for the submitting clan?
-Mascot Likabilty/Believabiltiy:
Do you like the mascot? Does it seem fun and/or intimadating, as mascots should be? Is this marketable as a Mascot should be?
Along with the Mascot entry, each clan's judging results are to be PMed directly to me.
Notes can be provided and would be nice to promote general contest discussion, but only a numbered score for each participating clan is required. Each clan must grade every other entry with the exception of their own, and all indivual clan scores will be averaged together when determining the victor.

Welp, that's it! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. So good luck, and have fun!
