This is completely new from any of the other UR decks that I've seen on the site, so bear with me.
I love me some good windfall effects. Standard has a few of these effects now with Jace's Archivist and Shattered Perceptions, along with alot of filtering in Desperate Ravings and Faithless Looting. I figured building a deck to take advantage of this would not only be cool and new, it might be extremely fun to play. Throw a little Burning Vengeance and Snapcaster Mage in the mix to take advantage of all the spells you will be throwing in your yard, and you got this.
The goal is simple. Survive, loot, draw cards, play a Psychosis Crawler, draw more cards, win the game. I like the pristine talismans in the deck because they can drop a Jace or Psychosis Crawler on turn 4, and gain you some life vs the aggro decks. I don't expect this to be some competitive tier 1 deck, but I think it's a nice fun deck that is new. Heck, if money is an issue for people, you can cut the Snapcasters and Jaces and put something cheaper in their place. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
This is a deck I like. The orgininality is what I really like about the deck, so let's see what we can do.
I almost would like to see Mind Unbound in this deck, due to the constant draw effects. Psychosis Crawler + Mind Unbound can actually kill a player in a matter of turns.

Net decks are for people with no creative mind. Custom decks are for players who actually take time to try!
I think I'd trade the Archivist for Solemn Simulacrum as Archivist will likely just be dead on arrival whereas Solemn helps when he comes in and when he inevitably leaves. I really like this idea, might put together a list of my own.
What about a blue/black(red?) approach with Tezzerets to help fetch the crawler. Can use Undying Evil and Spellskite to protect him. And black and blue both have some decent card draw options if we can't fit red in manawise.
honestly I built the deck as a joke.. something to do with my Junk rares, Psychosis crawler, mind unbound and time reversal.. it does better than I expected but I think it is a Casual multiplayer deck more than anything.
There's so much crap to cram in this deck, I didn't even think of Molten Psyche. I think the key is to have a solid early game and to not depend solely on killing them with Psychosis Crawler, that's why I have some Jaces in the list and Burning Vengeance.
I don't like the Jace, memory adepts. You said they were there as an alternate win condition, so I feel like cutting them for another Psychosis Crawler and another Burning Vengeance ends up being better. Our main plan is built around getting one of those in play, why not make that more
consistent?
We have enough card draw and filter effects to find a Crawler, but going to 4 means we could lose one to removal and still find a 2nd one easily enough. 3 Burning Vengeances gives us the ability to stabilize the board and/or burn them out.
I love the idea. U/R is my favorite color combo, but I'd try to focus the deck a bit more. It seems a bit all over the place with so many 2ofs and 3ofs.
If the card isn't a win condition, doesn't have flashback or protect our win conditions, let's try cutting it and see what we end up with.
-2 Jace, Memory Adept
-2 Ponder
-2 Galvanic Blast
-2 Pristine Talisman
+1 Psychosis Crawler
+1 Burning Vengeance
+1 Faithless Looting
+1 Think Twice
+1 Snapcaster Mage
+1 Mana Leak
+2 Geistflame (considering we will never have metalcraft, and most early creatures have 1 toughness anyways, seems better then Galvanic blast with the flashback for our deck. Maybe go some combination of Arc Trail/whipflare instead if it turns out we roll over and die to tokens)
Too lazy to see if the manabase needs to change. We need red mana slightly more on the early turns now, but that's actually better since our early loot effects are all red. We can burn creatures or loot for blue mana, either of which lets us get to our blue sources in time. So, it's better to skew a little heavier towards red sources for consistency.
I'm tempted to also cut 2 of some combo of Perception/Reversal/Archivist for more early burn effects, but I think that cuts too much of the original idea and goes too far into being a burning vengeance deck w/Psychosis Crawler. Considering how much I love the idea of burning Vengeance decks, maybe that's what I'm subconsciously doing already Heck, the biggest thing I might take away from this is just adding 2-3x Psychosis Crawlers into a U/R Burning Vengeance deck that uses Secrets of the Dead (the new blue enchantment that draws you a card whenever you cast from graveyard). Considering all of the card draw in that deck already, it serves as a backup plan if you don't draw Vengeance or it is somehow removed, which is generally the weak spot of that deck.
Idunno, I kinda like the Galvanic Blasts for Mirran Crusaders and any other random, dorky 2 toughness guy that needs to die. And Metalcraft isnt out of the question with the pristine talismans and crawlers, lol =P
You've got arc trails as well, and you can potentially cast and flashback geistflame after turn 5 to deal with 2 toughness guys. It's not ideal, but if we're losing to mirran crusaders mostly, then we'll tweak the numbers to include more burn that deals 2. Maybe we even have to go with incinerates if we need to kill 3 toughness guys or guys that regenerate.. who knows?
But, the geistflames work with the deck's strategy in a vaccuum. 1 damage early, 3 damage later. There's a reason most of the BV decks play them as a 4 of.
It's not a Burning Vengeance deck, the main goal is to windfall with Psychosis Crawler out. Burning Vengeance is just another card that happens to work alright with what I already have. The deck isn't supposed to be built around it.
Why are people playing Burning Vengeance with Time reversal? It's like taking 1 step forward casting the BV, then 5 steps back shuffling either all your flashback, or none of you flashback and all your discarded land.
I think you should add Lavamancer. He exiles all the lands you don't want to shuffle with reversal, and to be honest, he's a win condition.
Jace draws you a card or threatens to mill late. He's a win condition. I like him here.
Also, perhaps you should add Tumble Magnet? It clears blockers for your Crawler and can tap Titans and wurmcoil, which is a big deal. Plus, it's adds to your artifact count.
Becuase 7 life loss is alot with a Crawler out. Last time I'll say it, Burning Vengeance is NOT the "build around me" card of this deck, it's just for added value.
Oh and if you ever had a Jace with enough loyalty to ult, and you drop a Psychosis Crawler, it's an instant win...kinda =D

He's not asking why we're playing Time Reversal, he's asking why we're playing Burning Vengeance. I have to agree with him on that point, as BV doesn't really offer us anything.. I do really like Jace Ulti+Crawler, it's really nasty.. only problem is that with aggro on the rise, we need a solid plan to stave off the damage while still putting the pieces together.. As much as I love Molten Psyche, it's more of a crap shoot then a win con unless the deck is Metalcraft dedicated.. That means no Archivist, as you would want to run as many artifacts as possible. I think the best way is going to be ramping to the Crawler as quickly as possible, then drawing as many cards as possible. I'm trying out several different options with the build I posted but so far its only been average due to the lack of BIG card draw spells. There's really only USZ and I don't think it'll be that effective..
None of them we're really all that bad or good.. more often they really just didn't do anything, or enough of anything, to make any difference..
So far in the deck, I'm debating on taking out Solemn and Galvanic Blast, but I don't know what else would even work... as I've said before, on many other threads, there isn't enough support for this type of deck in standard right now, cause if there was I'd be playing... lol

But without having the Temple Bell it makes forced card draw tough.

I am using Delver of Secrets and Vapour Snag in more a tempo build. Which buys me time.
One of the most important cards in my deck is Time Reversal.
Time Reversall is a straight 7 damage makes your Psychosis Crawler 7/7... allows you to recycle your draw and vapour Snags... you can vapour Snag into time reversal to bury creatures and you remove the graveyard from having an effect I beat the innstrad event deck because Time Reversal killed his 20/20 Boneyard wurms.

to bad this doesnt work... Crawler doesn't deal damage to a player from its power, it causes loss of life..
Also, how about this...
4x Deranged Assistant
4x Grand Architect
3x Jace's Archivist
3x Psychosis Crawler

I think you should add Lavamancer. He exiles all the lands you don't want to shuffle with reversal, and to be honest, he's a win condition.
