You've managed to get summoning down to an art form, two years later. Everything you've brought forth bears no resemblance to much of anything you've ever seen, either in the records or through the lessons you've been following, but at least you've got something resembling a defensive force following you.
So now it's time to start exploring further afield. You pack along a player and one card with a world map, and start heading towards the nearest city. It's slow progress from the Breakers' efforts in defending against a threat that no longer exists, but they can't stand against you and your coterie.
Two weeks of steady walking from sunrise to sunset gets you there... where you're promptly greeted by rude noises from another one of your race, with a similar following.You compare notes of the last few years, starting with your arrival here. Everything mostly fits together - slightly different dates, different locations, but the same process of getting here and learning how to control magic.
If two of you are here, then the odds are pretty good that there's more. And therefore that there's hope for the future here, even if that future is filled with possibly-immortal magicians and weird creatures from their mind.
Still, it's going to take some work, and the only one you're sure you can depend on at this point is yourself.
Challenge: Design two cards with Anachrome. (Anachrome is an ability word like Chroma, except it counts the total of colorless mana rather than of a specific color. An example would be "Anachrome—Target creature gets +X/+X, where X is the amount of colorless mana in its mana cost.") One should function primarily on offense (attacking or weakening things), while the other should function primarily on defense (defending, strengthening, or countering things). Once again, both cards should use only colorless and twobrid mana, and no more than two of the same mana symbol can appear on each card. (You can use three or four of the same mana symbol between the two cards - the restriction on symbols is only per-card.)
Clarifications: There's no restriction on how large - or small - the cost can be. Every card type is fine, other than Planeswalker (which would be hard to fit into this challenge anyway).
Templating Note: Technically this should read "generic mana" rather than "colorless mana". However, in the interest of avoiding the question "what's generic mana?", I went with the technically-incorrect wording here.
Entries are now closed. Critiques will close at the end of April 16, Pacific time. Note that this is the only extension you will be given. If you are late, and you were on probation for any reason, you will be dropped even if you have the highest score on your team.

The Card Creation League is a monthly contest in which players compete over seven rounds. Each month has an overall theme and/or story, determined by that month's host.
Each round, the host will assign a card creation task to the players. This task may vary between teams or players.
The first three rounds are open to everyone who joined in the sign-up thread, which will be posted near the end of the previous month. After these rounds, the Top 8 players will move on to three single elimination rounds to determine a winner.
Rounds usually last three to four days for submissions and about two days for critiques, but the host has final say in making the schedule.
For the first three rounds, players are divided into teams. Four teams is standard, but there may be more or less depending on the number of players. Each team will review another team's cards during the critique period of that round.
Each player must submit a Top 3 ranking for the team he or she critiques at the end of each round. Each 1st place is worth 3 points, 2nd place 2 points, and 3rd place 1 point.
Additionally, each player can receive 2 bonus points per round. One point is awarded for posting a Top 3, and one point for providing critiques for that team's cards.
Suggested areas to critique include creativity, balance, printability, and relation to the overall theme or that player's previous cards.
Players who do not post a card or a Top 3 will be put on "probation." Top 3 violations for a round can be removed by posting or PMing the host with your Top 3 before the end of the next round. Any player that would receive a second violation is disqualified from further competition that month.
At the end of the first three rounds, the Top 8 players will be selected by points (usually the top 2 from each team). In the case of ties, there may be more than 8 players advancing. The host will determine matchups for single elimination. At the end of each elimination round, remaining players not in that matchup will choose a winner to advance. The host will break any ties.
The final round is determined by public poll.
Prior to Top 8, players have a chance of getting a total of 100 points toward their score each Scoring Round. Scores for each Round are determined by the following equation:
Total points of Player A in round N = 100 * X/Y, where:
X = Total number of Scoring Points (Judge Points + Additional Points from Top 3 & Critiques)
Y = Total number of Possible Points (3 * Number of Judges + Additional Points)
3 points are given for a First Place Top 3 finish, 2 points for a Second Place, and 1 point for a Third Place. 1 additional point is awarded if a Top 3 is submitted. 1 additional point is awarded if Critiques are given for all entries to be judged.
This way the grading is more streamlined in the fact that all rounds prior to Top 8 are graded equally, and there is no handicap for any team that has fewer judges.
Each player accumulates points from each Scoring Round until the end of Round 3.

I understand that it can be frustrating to see your designs being unloved, but it happens all the time. Round 1 I've made a card that, according to critiques, goes from clean and simple to awful that punishes for breaking the color pie. While we think it is a good card, most times critiques make sense. We should learn to listen and learn from others. I doubt that people dislike your card because you made it.
About the second point, I think it is ridiculous. Are you saying you rather be in a team with opponents that don't know how to make a card and win the group effortlessly? I'm not a good designer, not even close, and I've never won nothing here. But I like to be paired with colossus from CCC&G because it is challenging. Even if I lose all the time, I'll certainly become a better designer. And some day I'll be able to beat them. Until then, I'll keep trying surpass myself. Now, running away saying it is not fun to compete against those great designers is just an excuse to not admit you are afraid of losing once again.

-All abilities and/or affects that have colorless mana symbols as part of their cost needs 1 more to activate. i.e. it will cost 2 to activate Sensei's Divining Top's first ability, but its 2nd ability won't change.
-All mana abilities that produce colorless mana represented by colorless mana symbols produce 1 more mana. Sol Ring will now produce 3.
-All spells that involve X colorless mana takes X+1 more to cast or produces X+1 mana. i.e. see below
-As hybrid mana symbols also have generic mana costs, they will also increase, i.e. will become 3/W and so on.
-Phyrexian mana costs are not affected.
Except it says so in a much more elegant form. It's all intuitive, really. Anywhere you see a colorless/generic mana symbol, increase its value by 1. That's it.
For example, if this card is the only card on the battlefield, at the beginning of the next upkeep, it'll add 9 to the mana pool (mana cost goes from 7 to 8, and ability goes from X to X + 1).

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
You've managed to get summoning down to an art form, two years later. Everything you've brought forth bears no resemblance to much of anything you've ever seen, either in the records or through the lessons you've been following, but at least you've got something resembling a defensive force following you.
So now it's time to start exploring further afield. You pack along a player and one card with a world map, and start heading towards the nearest city. It's slow progress from the Breakers' efforts in defending against a threat that no longer exists, but they can't stand against you and your coterie.
Two weeks of steady walking from sunrise to sunset gets you there... where you're promptly greeted by rude noises from another one of your race, with a similar following.
You compare notes of the last few years, starting with your arrival here. Everything mostly fits together - slightly different dates, different locations, but the same process of getting here and learning how to control magic.
If two of you are here, then the odds are pretty good that there's more. And therefore that there's hope for the future here, even if that future is filled with possibly-immortal magicians and weird creatures from their mind.
Still, it's going to take some work, and the only one you're sure you can depend on at this point is yourself.
Challenge: Design two cards with Anachrome. (Anachrome is an ability word like Chroma, except it counts the total of colorless mana rather than of a specific color. An example would be "Anachrome—Target creature gets +X/+X, where X is the amount of colorless mana in its mana cost.") One should function primarily on offense (attacking or weakening things), while the other should function primarily on defense (defending, strengthening, or countering things). Once again, both cards should use only colorless and twobrid mana, and no more than two of the same mana symbol can appear on each card. (You can use three or four of the same mana symbol between the two cards - the restriction on symbols is only per-card.)
Clarifications: There's no restriction on how large - or small - the cost can be. Every card type is fine, other than Planeswalker (which would be hard to fit into this challenge anyway).
Templating Note: Technically this should read "generic mana" rather than "colorless mana". However, in the interest of avoiding the question "what's generic mana?", I went with the technically-incorrect wording here.

Obviously you can't deal damage to lands/enchantments/non-creature artifacts. But if a land became animated, I wanted the damage marked on it to carry over so it would die upon animation. It would probably require a rewording of a rule but it seems a very minor change either way and a very niche situation.

I understand that it can be frustrating to see your designs being unloved, but it happens all the time. Round 1 I've made a card that, according to critiques, goes from clean and simple to awful that punishes for breaking the color pie. While we think it is a good card, most times critiques make sense. We should learn to listen and learn from others. I doubt that people dislike your card because you made it.
About the second point, I think it is ridiculous. Are you saying you rather be in a team with opponents that don't know how to make a card and win the group effortlessly? I'm not a good designer, not even close, and I've never won nothing here. But I like to be paired with colossus from CCC&G because it is challenging. Even if I lose all the time, I'll certainly become a better designer. And some day I'll be able to beat them. Until then, I'll keep trying surpass myself. Now, running away saying it is not fun to compete against those great designers is just an excuse to not admit you are afraid of losing once again.

Except it says so in a much more elegant form. It's all intuitive, really. Anywhere you see a colorless/generic mana symbol, increase its value by 1. That's it.
For example, if this card is the only card on the battlefield, at the beginning of the next upkeep, it'll add 9 to the mana pool (mana cost goes from 7 to 8, and ability goes from X to X + 1).
