Lantern, do you think you could make the "currently signed up" section specifically say that it's for IQ 4, vs. the pairings right next to it that are for IQ 3? It's slightly confusing currently (hard to tell what is for what IQ#).
Is there room in the next competition still? I havent played a lot of modern (lots of standard and legacy though) but I wouldn't mind playing. I have a spicy brew in mind. Cockatrice is free right?

Yes, cockatrice is free. Also, there is always room. Signups for #4 haven't even officially started yet (but you can still say you are in, early). Officially they will start in a day or so, and they will end around the 10th of the month.
Read the first 4 or so posts of the OP for more info.
zemanjaski! Nice to see you again! As always, the deadline is the sunday after the first. I will be posting a recap, so everyone is upto speed on the meta, and can make adjustments accordingly!
Why is the deadline always the "sunday after the first"? That seems like it could get pretty inconsistent; sometimes it would be the 8th of the month and sometimes the 2nd (or anywhere in between).

Because it is consistent. While the starting dates arent, it makes rounds concistant. Round 1, done by first new full week, round 2, same, full week. Round 3/4 same, full week. IQs then done on time. And when its the first of the month, people start sending in their decklists/codes.
Yup finals for the 3rd tournament will be starting at 8pm tonight. Should be a fun match, hopefully stuff like mana screw / flood won't be a problem for either players.

Yup finals for the 3rd tournament will be starting at 8pm tonight. Should be a fun match, hopefully stuff like mana screw / flood won't be a problem for either players.
Truth! But the match up does look like a fun one to end on.
Remember, the recap, lists and meta gets put up right after, as well as the victors monthly pic.
And heres our Lantern IQ 3 winner!-
Lanterns Recap! Meta- We see a lot of affinity, but less then last time. Either the trend is going down, or players expected hate, and left the deck at home. Blue is what really shoot up! Look at all these restoration controls. Flavor of the week? New staple? Id have to say its here to stay, and they all did pretty well in the games. I should note the amount of combo also went up, as well as brews! Thank you brew masters! 4!
Top 8- in a nutshell, we got 2 control decks, 2 combo decks, 3 aggro, 1 tempo deck, and 2 of those were brews. What does that mean?
Well, other than our brew masters are hard at work... We finally have a meta formed. What brews lack the stability and versatility our known archetypes, but make up for it with surprise, and playing on the known decks weakness. Expect more brews Id say.
Control makes a big showing, blue in general. Either from the fact aggro has gone down... or the rise of sweepers and kitchen finks in the side.
Yet, Boom//bust Zoo makes it top, and as that player... I can say all the games I pushed it through, wouldn't have been possible with out early aggression.
Players- SPC makes some major game play choices that pay off in victories. Nyktos shows he knows his rules with tight technical play. Kiblar also shows this, and we all know fae can wreck in the right hands, and those hands were his. Tom88 Falters round 1 this go around, but since he has the highest points right now (written prior to finals) I wouldn't count him out yet. I have a special call out to thecrecarc, as he made a wonderful deck choice, that just smashed his way into 3/4th place with ease. But if were talking about deck skills, lets not leave out our brew masters who made it to the top, planeswalker7976 and Black19.
Finals- Lets not forget to give it up to our finalists Lantern and Cbus. Cbus, making his second finalist showing, Lantern, his first.
American control vs Boom//Bust Zoo!
So aggression did it out, as I won... but mostly to a mana screw. Game 1 I saw his heavy mull, and boom busted away is only land. Game 2 was close, but I got shackle locked away, and could never recover. game 3 was alot like game 1 but a double striking, double exalted elf hurts home! Great games. Hope to see all yours next time!
Wrap up: Shackles has stolen games from people, sometimes just stalling long enough. Kitchen finks makes a big swings as well. Control stall is back alive and well. Weither that means you go faster, or over... thats up to you! Id invest some time in some graveyard hate, as that yard seems more like a place creatures and spell are renting out, but not staying in. Our games seem to be slowing down a bit too. Id watch out for our brewmasters as well, since Im sure their reading this post VVEEERRRRYYY carefully!

By the way, I'm aware my list was kinda sketchy. I was new to the deck, and "innovated" in places I perhaps shouldn't have.
I don't know yet if I'll be playing Pod again in the next IQ, but if I do, my current list is better (and closer to the standard list...such is the way things often go).

If anyone wants to test or brew with me for IQ for (deadline the 4th!) message me! I love going over decks!
It performed very well in the tournament, and was fun to pilot. Once again, I apologize to anyone I beat :P.
Nice! I posted up my zoo stuff as well. Im glad to see these games have been helping testing and building! If anyone else has any cool summerys to post up let us know!
And if youd like my help with deck test/building/ side tweeking, let me know! I love to deck craft with people.
