Shogun's Presence, huh? I guess the new shogun of Eiganjo isn't Michiko, since she's off doing her thing with Kyodai and wouldn't be able to stay in one place... Anyhow, I suppose that's fine for two mana given Wrap in Vigor.
Nomi is pretty interesting... she's like the Voltron-EDH version of Progenitus which I suppose was intentional. I can't help but wonder if she apes Proggy too much. What is she even a throwback to?

Nope, Michiko is accounted-for in my storyline. She was a Daimyo's daughter, anyway, not a Shogun's.
You should check out the OP of the Call to Glory thread, void_nothing. I've added some new storyline / character stuff, and will be adding a lot more in the upcoming few days as part of my "1/3 Complete" update. It will start to get you situated into the setting of Call to Glory block. Which characters return - and how they return - might surprise you.
"Throwback" - this is a great question that you ask! And, I will answer it very soon, once I'm able to complete my storyline spread on the Uba. Short answer - they are Kamigawa's most ancient living race, one-time contemporaries of the now-extinct Kappa (and other, stranger things.) Nomi is an enigma even among her own, long-lived kind - a creature so old, not even the oldest Kami can remember her birth. And she knows a secret that could change the entire Multiverse.
Protection from opponent's control is odd sounding. Is there precedent for that template somewhere? If not, go with "spells, abilities and permanents your opponents control" or "cards your opponents control" both sound nicer.
I agree with Ryzorz - unless it's following some precedent set by WotC, I would re-word it, because while it's functionally fine, the wording feels awkward.
I've noticed your threads pop up a lot and, to be honest, I've skipped them as I just haven't had the attention span to follow another custom set, however I'm glad I stepped in here. You seem to have a better grasp on story and flavor than most here (no offense to them, I just see most people focusing on the mechanical rather than the flavorful, which is perfectly fine.) I'm gonna keep an eye on this set - it sounds very interesting!
i agree Nomi's wording probably isn't grammatically correct but we all know what you mean, and it's clearly doable. templating aside, does anyone worry about this being overpowered? not in a "this card will warp formats" way, but in a "this card is extremely annoying and only 3 mana and 90+% of decks will have absolutely no answer for it".
isn't that a problem? what's it's closest cousin that's been printed? Etched Champion makes you jump through more hoops, and the hoops that support it can be attacked. this one has no hoops.

One thing I was going to mention in reply and didn't is that I think this set needs an edict effect or two, at the least, that could at least provide a potential answer for the card.

Awesome suggestion! I will be sure to include one in an upcoming batch.
Ultra-annoying is exactly the flavor that I'm going for with this one. ("Nomi" is Japanese for "flea," BTW.) Although it wasn't intentional, I think I can retroactively credit a certain new forum-goer with the inspiration, here.
Flavor aside, I obviously want it to be answerable somehow in a competitive environment. I just want that answer to be a metagame decision rather than a casual "I'll hit it with the control I'm already running" decision. I want it to defy the "dies to removal" way of thinking - it will die if you include the one of the small number of cards in the format that can kill it.
Nomi is far too strong. It's an unremovable infinitely more flexible Invisible Stalker combined with Wall of Denial. I think you should up the cost by at least 1.
Sphinx is really good. Control will play it and be able to protect him just fine, hes a much better finisher then Jwar Isle and thats saying a lot considering how good he alone is. Bazzar Trader.dec now has 16 threaten effects. Thats really, really, really, really good. Really good.
Throwing in another downvote for Nomi. Remember how much fun Invisible Stalker was the last time?
The protection template is weird because it doesn't work ("opponents control" is not a characteristic), and the keyword itself is a bunch of abilities incoherently thrown together that only survives because of legacy. Why is Nomi destructible, but not enchantable? Why does she need to be unblockable when she already can't be killed in combat? Why not just write out which specific forms of removal the ability blanks instead of mangling the protection keyword and having to write out additional reminder text? Progenitus is hard to cast and kills your opponent in two swings - protection from everything just makes it more epic feeling. Nomi doesn't make me feel like I've accomplished anything spectacular when I cast her on turn 3. She feels like a three-drop Invisible Stalker whose power was pushed into Mythic rarity for Spike reasons.

there are plenty of creatures which are all but unanswerable by conventional removal spells. thrun, wall of denial, even bloodghast by some definitions. the reason i hesitate on yours, and not the aforementioned, is because the existing cards have another natural limitation.
thrun isn't a reliable offensive threat (4 drop, can be chumped)
wall of denial can't attack.
bloodghast can't block.
invisible stalker is purely offensive.
progenitus is impossibly expensive.
etched champion needs to maintain metalcraft.
yours, however, comes down turn 3 and blocks forever. it ALSO attacks for an unblockable 2 every turn. it also carries equipments and auras very well. i don't see a natural limitation, except that it "only" has 2 power.
She feels like a three-drop Invisible Stalker whose power was pushed into Mythic rarity for Spike reasons.
I suppose I would be disappointed if all she turned out to be was an aggro beatstick. To answer your concern along with an earlier question, she's different from Progenitus in that you can still interact with her with your cards. That's what I want to encourage players to do - start with this really hard-to-answer base and then throw a bunch of Divine Favors or other crap on her, because... whats' your opponent going to do? Kill her?
So, to the people who think she's overpowered, what if I made her a 1/1, instead? Then the base is there. Yeah, the similarities to Invisible Stalker increase, but does it make her more fun to have around?
As for protection being a "legacy" ability and feeling kludged together... I'm embracing it. If it's a combat-related evergreen ability, it has a home in this set. In some other set, maybe I'd be a revisionist and say I don't like it, but there's almost 20 years of Magic standing behind protection, warts and all. It will get its fair shake in this set.

Go even further. Make her a 0/1.
She's a flea, right? She's supposed to be unkillable, but not very threatening. Make the player have to do work to transform her from "irritating wall that can be trampled over" to "unstoppable terror sending the opponent scrambling for a tutor spell," and she'll feel much more rewarding when the player actually manages to pull it off.
"Protection from everything you don't control" is a compromise I can live with.
hard to keep her as a mythic at 0/1 though. and giving such a powerful text box on an 0/1 is a bit strange regardless of rarity. i guess it could be one of the "weird rares" that most sets have.
personally, i'd rather make her slightly easier to kill but still exciting on offense. something like "whenever ~ blocks, it loses all abilities". its a weird clunky line but i can't think of anything better at the moment.
big thumbs up on the last version. as an 0/1 without lifelink, it would scream "use me as the most annoying blocker in the world". with lifelink, it screams "hey, figure out how to use me"
