For all full members, I have a treat for you. Head on over to the FoS forum where you will find the great "6-Pack Pay-it-Forward Project"
This is a project started by FoS member photodyer. He's sending me a variety 6-pack of his favorite beers and I'll be paying that forward by sending one to another Clan member (21 or older) who'll send one to another member and so on.
If you're a full FoS member and want to take part, get over to the FoS forum and sign up. If you're not a full FoS member and can't sign up, but want to - then keep contributing to the Clan and you'll get promoted.
+EDIT+ Sad news for my international brothers - apparently it's a crime to ship liquids internationally. Ain't that a *****? So this specific pay-it-forward deal will have to stay in the CONUS, or, we'll have to ship something other than beer if we're shipping internationally. Sorry gents.
+++RANDOM UPDATE+++
Okay, since beer is illegal to ship internationally and we have many international and potentially underage members here, we're going to make this a "random ****" pay-it-forward deal. Anyone anywhere can participate as long as they are a Tier 2+ member. Just sign up in the FoS forum thread.
redthirst is redthirst, fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. He was the leader of the Fires of Salvation, the only clan I'm aware of to get modded off the forums so hard they made their own forums.
Degenerate? Sure. Loudmouth? You bet. Law abiding? No ****ing way.
I guess I couldn't take part of the project not only for not being a full member, but because I think that shipping to and from here would be problematic. So I take the 2nd option gladly anyway.
Good idea by the way!
Yeah... having tried to ship things to Italy, I can say that y'all have the worst postal service in the world.
If you had family in pretty much any other EU country, though, it could be done.

I dont think there is a worse postal service than what we have here in the phil. Thats a really nice idea to promote solidarity within our group. Would really like to take part on it but it would be a nightmare to send a six pack. If ever you visit the philippines though dont hesitate to message me. Will be happy to show you guys around and ill share my fav beer

It looks like we have quite a few international members who are interested, but, sadly, it seems that it's not legal to ship beer out of the country.
I think the best thing to do is to make this more of a "random ****" pay-it-forward project. That way anyone of any age in any country can participate as long as they're FoS Clan members.
Of course, some people will still get beer. Looking at you, khaospawn.

Thanks, Khaos! redthirst and I started talking beer before the holidays so I sent him a box of local stuff that isn't likely to be on shelves out his way. It only seems natural with this group to share some stuff around...
For anyone who wants info on the ins and outs of beverage-sharing, send me a PM and I'll hit you with a couple of links.

This is the best Clan. EVER.
Now to figure out who to send some beer to. Any takers?
edit: gotta go back to work from my lunch break...and all I can think about now is slamming a beer. C'mon 1 o'clock!

So I'm looking at the commons released so far for GTC, and I might have to go with Simic for the prerelease. The G and U commons curve out really well, plus most of the creatures have evolve. I know this is magical christmasland stuff, but bear with me.

There are probably more. I would lose being able to kill:
Silverblade Paladin
Geralf's Messenger
Strangleroot Geist (permanently)
Blood Artist (permanently)
Hound of G
Pyreheart (permanently)
I am sure there are other high value x/2 targets out there that need exile.
The benefits are instant speed burn vs sorcery. If I pack at least 3 searing spears I think swapping out my pillars for geist flame is doable in Gruul. I will have to test it.
@ toddulent: What antiemetic did they put you on that's gorking you out? Promethazine or prochlorperazine? These days most docs are using ondansetron first-line for nausea because it doesn't generally screw with people's heads the way the other 2 drugs I mentioned do.
It is ondansetron. Not sure if that is what is doing it to me or the steroids or a combination of everything. Probably a combination.
On a topic-related note, Dos Rakis without Aristocrat is, well, a hard sell. She is the main workhorse in the deck, which is why she is outrageously expensive. If you watch the recording of cweaver's last stream, he demonstrates why Aristocrat is the keystone of the deck as he just blows people out with her.
I know she's a hard expense to swallow--I'm looking at the same issue as I have 2 playsets in paper but that does me jack online, and I really am having a hard time justifying $100 for a playset that only exists in the aether. But if you really want to play RB Aggro now or into GTC, she is going to be a necessity I fear. Without Aristocrat I don't believe the split mana base is worth the trouble. There are folks here who can comment on this more definitively than I, but I can't see Rb as viable without the hasty indestructible flyer.
I plan on getting a playset of the Aristocrat eventually. I just won't have the funds to get it before FNM this week. So, I figure I'll play Hellrider in it's place until after the pre-release.
Foil Silverhearts: Keep in mind that these were released in the soulbond intro deck at least on the paper side, so they are not likely to spike well in price just because there are so many.
That explains why the Foils are only $1 more than the regular.

All three of the new rares/mythics revealed today are cool. Realmwright means that if you have blue in your color wheel then caverns are easy to play, the downside is almost gone. Innistrad duals also are more valuable since they can into play untapped even more often without loss of life. Utility lands are nicer. Which is good for Alchemist's Refuge and Nephalia Drownyard. In fact Drownyard will probably make it into more reanimator decks now.
There are so many implications of these cards that it is hard to work out all of the interaction. These cards will see action before they rotate out.

Mana Ramp - Farseek, Dorks, new ramp spells of various value
blockers that enable evolve i.e. 0/4 for CMC 3
flyers that enable evolve i.e. 3/1 for CMC 3
Master Biomancer enables late topdecks to be relevant, a T5 cloudfin can be a 2/3 flyer easily, and the guildmage can make that 1 drop on T5 a 3/5 flyer.
Being able to kill /1s early is going to be a big deal vs them. I will want more removal otherwise the field will get nuts.
Everything is tied to bodies which means vulnerable to sweepers but omg it looks interesting.
A 1/1 for U that's only purpose is color fixing...
It's not bad, but I'm not convinced that it's going to see much play either.
I would expect it to be nuts in Limited formats, but in Constructed it would be way too fragile to hang your mana-fixing hopes upon. Granted, a 1-drop drawing removal is generally advantageous to the 1-drops player, so it might show up. Man...if you could make that card stick it would be a nightmare...perhaps that's it's best application (e.g. a combo deck running X-cost cards that could drop this then play something massive off-color). A bit janky, but you know there are folks that are going to look for a way to bust this...
Drop that wizard on T4/T5 after Master Biomancer and he is a 3/3 mutant wizard. I think in the right deck he is playable. Obviously you don't make it all depend on the wizard for fixing but you can make your mana more reliable with him.
Plus if you have card draw and ramping you can find some uses for him. Combine him with black and use mutilate for omg, etc.
I think if you're a green based creature deck running anything less than 4 Rancors, you're doing it wrong. Also, no love for Wolfir Avenger or Wolfir Silverheart? Experiment One fits much better with the all-out aggro approach than Arbor Elf too IMO.
Here's what I'm considering, or something similar, if I'm going green with red splash

T1 - Cloudfin Raptor
T2 - Shambleshark, raptor gets +1/+1
T3 - Crocanura, raptor and shark both get +1/+1
Opinions?
Not to mention that the Simic promo rare is the most powerful by a bit IMO. I think Simic would be a strong choice.

Well, it does some other cool stuff outside of Standard.
Valakut in play and that dude naming Mountain, now a fetch is two lightning bolts, no matter what land you search for.
