I was going to pic the Jace vs. Chandra decks up via the internet, but when I was at a hobby shop last night I picked it up even though it was $21 and I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere. I ripped the deck open and have to say that it was really cool to see the new pictures of the counter spells and fact or fiction (I love blue), but what I thought was sweet is that Wizards had packed two flat boxes in the packaging so that you could store the decks and bring them along with you. A lot of thought went into putting the box together and the new player's guide as well as the Jace vs. Chandra decklist sheet is really nice. I'm really happy I was able to pick one up. I liked the Elves vs. Goblins deck from last year, but these two decks blow that out of the water. Really nice!
When playing unedited JvC decks, I'm two and two against my friend. They are both good decks, but as has been said before, seem to have a little filler (forgivable).
For those who wanted to see the new frame, but not new art cards, I made a scan of the ones from the Jace deck.
My buddy still has the Chandra one for right now, so you'll have to wait for that.
Also, I used a few for fulls on MWS. They aren't perfect, but as of right now, they aren't yet had ...
Just gotta stick a dot between full and jpg for MWS
Plus, I got three 3/1 red elemental tokens with the chandra deck, and I can't figure out what they are for.
I like the jace deck better. I bought it last night, and played with it and won with the Jace deck. It has better card advantage.. Although I am glad to get another Demonfire and Fire Bolt.

I bought three sets, and have opened up two so far (they're awesome!)
For both sets, the Jace deck was kinda bent overall (but the Chandra ones are fine).
Does anyone have any idea why, ie: something to do with the foiling process, and if pressing the cards with weight will help flatten them out over time?

It's because the foil card is really just a sticker on a normal card back. The adhesive used for the sticker is extremely strong, so when the sticker, spread wide before fastening, naturally wants to contract it pulls the edges of the card towards the middle. Temperature control is very important here. Keep the card in a cool place and avoid temperature changes if it isn't in a binder.
It looks awesome! My local hasn't gotten them yet.
I have a few questions:
1. Are they even? (is one a blowout or are they pretty fair?)
2. How much do they cost USD?
Thanks
Is anyone else feeling kinda annoyed and misled? I mean the cards they spoiled and the way they described the decks made them sound like a burn deck/aggro deck, vs a control deck, which really isn't the case.
My Chandra deck was missing the last five cards, and one of the 3/1 tokens. And, as it turns out, I think that the Chandra deck has the upper hand. The burn suite is solid, and there are enough cheap haste/firebreathing creatures (or both in one with Pyre Charger) that unless the Jace deck has really good draws, the consistency with Chandra's deck seems better.
The innate problem I found with Jace's deck is that on turn 3 I was on the defensive and did not have the time to mess with playing my cheap Morph creatures face down, and instead used them as chump blockers, which rendered them useless since everything in the deck is a two-of. I think that if I bought two of them and mixed the two blue decks together for more consistency, I'd have a better time with it.
The Chandra deck was probably a lot more consistent because it was short 5 cards, so if they were 5 of the subpar cards then you have a better chance of getting your good stuff.

Well, they're supposed to be for the Hostity ability. (as answered above)
However, he puts 3/1 Elemental Shaman tokens with haste into play. The token cards have no haste.
That is really lame.
Hmm i guess that's decent. I'm glad it's not 20+
Are they fair?
and also, are they hobby stores only, or do places like Walmart have them?
I got mine at Wal-Mart for $20 but since I work there I got my 10% off so yeah it was about $18 lol. As far as fairness goes I don't really know. I played the Jace deck twice against my friend who was using the Chandra deck and got beat both times. Although he did pull out Hostility twice. The blue deck has a lot of cards that are good in a vacuum but not in this deck, and none of the cards have anything to do with Jace's ability (except the first two). So all-in-all I would have to say that Chandra's deck is better when in theory Jace's should win.
No, i didn't create my account based on planeswalkers, its because i'm a giant anomorphic conglomuration of airplanes fused together that likes taking long walks on the beach. Why does everyone assume i like planewalkers?

The original 3/1 Elemental Shaman tokens printed during Lorwyn / Shadowmoor were generated also by some cards like Hearthcage Giant that did not gave them haste. I don't know if they have the JvC symbol... if they don't, then they've just thrown spare ones in there.

Somewhat, but I didn't really have high hopes or expectations for the decks WotC put together, anyway.

To be honest, these decks are great for their value. You get 2 preconstructed deck, which used to MSRP for like, 13.99 each, you get twice as many rares per deck, and you get cohesive deck building, not only in each deck, but in the play between the two.

This is probably the worst signature in the history of signatures.
My brother just got his today, all I can say is I don't want the jace half. Chandra pwned 4-0, just far too powerful. one or two of the games were fairly close, but he got majorly axed the other two times.

With all, put the same thing except with / in front of what type of tags they are (like [/card]) to close them.

I actually have to back that the Chandra deck seems to have an edge. When I cracked it open and played it against my store manager, he consistently swept me with the Chandra deck.
The blue deck seems to have some anti-synergies going on, while the red deck is generally well tailored. They aren't consistent decks, by any stretch of the imagination, but they are definitely a lot of fun.

They are going to be English-only, I think.
