That's the exact opposite reaction that town GM should be having. Frankly, I don't give a damn what you think about my interpretations of his play, because I think you're scum.

I don't know GM's meta, though. I'm looking at this without meta, and I'm seeing that your reasoning is full of tinfoil.
Point is, my argument is NOT based solely on GM's meta - it's based on mindset as well as my knowledge of how GM plays as scum. He completely ignored my earlier push on him. That is not townGM behavior. And no, why should I care what you think of me if you're scum? That's a blatant misrepresentation of what I'm saying.

Why are you giving this as reasoning now, but did not before? What do you think about Teia not reacting to my vote on her?
And yeah I'm realizing I misinterpreted what you said earlier; question retracted.

Strawman. Teia's reaction has no bearing on the way GM thinks.

That being said, I do have to disagree with you on Jay. At this point, he has been one of the only people that I consider leaning town. I feel that some of his noob posts could not easily be faked by scum. Of course my views are subject to change, but I feel that he has been kinda genuine so far.
The hell is this? My opinion is that i do not have an opinion that i feel i can opinion on so i am posting that i have two opinions and therefor can't be blamed for my opinion of the situation?
Oh, and i have made huge post you ignored. It's the one where i call you scum for various reasons? No rebuttal?
I don't like Jay13x's posting so far. Granted, it's his first game, which makes him slightly harder to read, but this post looks like buddying. His other posting tends to look like activelurking.
My 'buddying' as you called it is no different than my normal posting. Any of you who've interacted with me on a regular basis can confirm that.
That said, it could just be a case of a newbie getting lost in his first game. Not enough to go on to establish a solid read yet. So, to you, I also ask what reads you have so far and why you have them. Also, what are your views on others' reads and actions?
Hansanator is extremely suspicious, which is why I haven't changed my vote yet. I'm suspicious for the obvious reasons that have already been mentioned: a lack of real contributions, no voting history yet, etc. He seems experienced enough to know better.
Iso is the next most suspicious person. He's made excessive requests for information and poured a lot of attention on KoolKoal, but he's voting for someone else. He also declared a Scum Team that didn't include KoolKoal, despite the amount of suspicion he's tried to cast on KoolKoal. Instead he's voting for someone (GM) who hasn't been around to defend themselves after RVS. Make of that what you will, to me it looks like someone who is overplaying his hand.
That being said, I do have to disagree with you on Jay. At this point, he has been one of the only people that I consider leaning town. I feel that some of his noob posts could not easily be faked by scum. Of course my views are subject to change, but I feel that he has been kinda genuine so far.
I'm new, so yes there are a few details I need explained, and I figured I'd get answer faster posting here.

This is the second time you have done this: this is the second time you have completely misconstrued what I have said.

Lynch this scum.
LOL
By your "huge post," do you mean #83? You addressed me twice in it. The first was a faulty summarization like the one above, which accomplishes nothing. The second was referring to a post I made 35 posts earlier, which I had already been questioned about it and answered the same exact questions before you even made your post. You attack me for "ignoring posts"? Hmmmm.... sounds a lot like what you did. Go back and read #77 and #81 to find answers to the questions you asked just 2 posts later (except the one about your thumb).
To recap, you have:
1. Distorted my words
2. Attacked me for ignoring posts, while you ignored at least 2 of my posts
3. Tried to push suspicion on me for not addressing stuff that I already addressed.
Interesting.

Iso:
It looks like my "nath attack" post #12 was the end of solid RVS, and Wheat_Grinder put in one more RVS vote at #17, but people had already started making serious posts at #13. Again, sorry, I'm barely keeping active here, I'm living in the new place now but half our stuff is still in boxes and the internet doesn't work yet, and work is quite busy. Hopefully I can get into gear by the weekend.
I assumed RVS was going to keep going for a while and saw no reason to unvote a second vote on someone at that time, I love RVS wagons.

I'm going to respond to as many instances of my name that popped up as possible, because apparently missing one is suspicious.
Wow this sounds differently than I intended on re-read. What I mean to say was "I'm going to respond to as many instances of my name that popped up as possible, to avoid being suspicious by not answering a question by mistake." I'm having fun so I hope no one took that the wrong way.
This is awful. I'm going to lurk for a couple of days.
But this only makes you more suspicious! At least to me, backing out when a few people call you out for suspicious behavior seems like a move to get people to forget and get distracted by something else.
In any case, I'd like to start hearing other people's suspicions. All we've done so far is attack other people, which is good for scum to sow confusion but bad for townies who need to make a good decision or lose one of their own. I'd like to see some real arguments as to who we should vote for.
I already talked about Iso and Handsanitizer, but here is my analysis so far:
Arcadic: 4 posts
- A few suspicious statements, such as the one directed at me ('Goodnight my sweet VT')
BlackVise: 4 posts
- Hasn't contributed much but to question a couple votes
- Voted KoolKoal and then kept it there due to KoolKoal's defensiveness
Gerrard's Mom: 4 posts
- Mostly unavailable (due to move, so understandable unless this is a huge Meta lie)
- Hasn't voted seriously
- Hasn't contributed much of substance
Iso: 24 posts
- Made a serious vote for GM with no good reason except 'because I know'
- Excessive requests for explanation from KoolKoal
- Called KoolKoal 'Imploading', but provided no explanation to what he meant
- Impatient to get first round of voting to lynch GM
- Accused Void of being scum with no reason or explanation (Void hadn't even posted yet)
- Suggested Teia as scum because she posted on page 4
- Accused the least suspicious group so far, GM/Void/Teia as a scumteam with no reason or explanation
- Switched to voting for Teia based on discussion with Wheat
- Switched back to GM for no reason with no explanation given
- Won't explain his reasoning
- Hid the moment people started questioning him
Jay13x: 9 posts
- New to the game
- Extremely handsome
kaburi: 8 posts
- Many posts suspicious of KooKoal, but hasn't voted
- Questions other's motive vaguely, but nothing of substance contributed in eight posts
- Thanks for linking me to the acronyms!
KoolKoal: 20 Posts
- Voted based on a mistake, then didn't change it
- Lots of interaction with Iso, but is voting and focused on Hansanator (3rd person on the Hansanator train)
rianalnn: 2 Posts
- First post was simply (as Teia puts it) active lurking.
- Second post was as well, except for jumping to Iso's side
Teia Rabishu: 5 Posts
- Hasn't reacted to being voted on
- Lurking (I've caught her reading while invisible at least once)
- Cast aspersions on KoolKoal and Handsanitizer
- Slight suspicion on me for good reasons (if I wasn't new and didn't realize attempts at humor would be greeted with suspicion)
- Corrected herself appropriately when she realized the mistake
- Voted for KoolKoal
Void: 5 Posts
- Hasn't voted yet
- Hasn't done anything but vaguely question the motives of others
Wheat_Grinder: 20 Posts
- Refuses to answer why he voted at first
- Has voted seriously for KoolKoal and Teia
Thoughts? My current theory is that we're looking at Iso as scum who has been trying to cast doubt everywhere without explaining himself.
With all due respect, I'm not going to jump through hoops because you ask me to. I'm not going to try to fool anyone into thinking that I am scum hunting because I don't need to.
You don't need to prove you're scumhunting, or you don't need to scumhunt? Either way, asking you for content is hardly unreasonable.
But to answer your question, nobody has really jumped out at me as scum, so I haven't said anything in regards to that. If you just be patient, I'll let you know when I get some prominent reads. I feel that in time, they'll make themselves apparent.
The thing is that for all you've been posting, you haven't really done much beyond propose an awful softclaim idea and try to justify a lack of scumhunting. I'm not exactly enthused by your desire to sit back and do nothing and let things come to you, rather than you going out and actually doing some work.
That being said, I do have to disagree with you on Jay. At this point, he has been one of the only people that I consider leaning town. I feel that some of his noob posts could not easily be faked by scum. Of course my views are subject to change, but I feel that he has been kinda genuine so far.
This just reeks of being noncommittal with how much you feel the need to qualify everything so you end up with a weak read. Are you honestly trying to tell me that you can't commit to any actual reads despite that we've got over 100 posts of content to work with?
To recap, you have:

Kind of deflective ("no, you're the one attacking someone for ignoring posts!"), definitely defensive, still not contributing actual content of your own. This easily makes you my strongest scum read.

I don't need to fool anyone into thinking that I am scum hunting. Also this:
I know that I'm playing my usual town game, and that's good enough for me. I'll openly admit that I suck at analyzing behavior, so I'm just not going to do it. But also, I'm not convinced that behavioral analysis actually works: in my brief experience here, not a single person has actually caught scum based on their actions or supposed "scum tells," yet I have seen numerous innocent people get mislynched due to these reasons. I don't intend on pressuring people to slip up, because that's not how I catch scum.

Yes. That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you. My noncommittal-ness is just me acknowledging the fact that I am not as arrogant as many of the people on this site. I know that I'm not always right, and my views, therefore, are subject to change.

Unvote, vote hansanator
I was pointing out how hypocritical Arcadic was being, and I find it quite ironic that he used it as a claim to vote me.
Honestly, what am I supposed to do? When I brush off attacks, people scream "Why are you ignoring those attacks!" and when I address attacks, people scream, "Quit being so defensive!"
Sidenote: I'd like to reiterate my lack of faith in the behavioral analysis method of scumhunting. I haven't seen one person ever who has been able to correctly read me without me giving them some sort of hint/spoiler.

If this is true, I need to rethink how I'm reading you slightly. You give up on the best way to scum hunt because you're not good at it? You also seem to have the misconception that its all about applying pressure and watching what happens, when that's only a small piece. I'd rather talk about that post-game though.
But this, plus your note in your signature makes it much more likely you could be inexperienced town despite how many games you've played.
unvote until I've read a couple of Hansanator's past games.

I'm not convinced that behavioral analysis actually works: in my brief experience here, not a single person has actually caught scum based on their actions or supposed "scum tells,"
This is entirely your sample size; you can't seriously believe that an entire community is founded on a false belief. People being bad at behavioral analysis ≠ behavioral analysis doesn't work. But now I'm curious – how do you expect to find scum, exactly?

Picking up on these things is exactly what behavioral analysis is
I know that my sample size is quite small -- I noted that it was based on my "brief experience." I'm sure that there are people who can analyze behavior effectively; I just haven't seen them yet.
I expect to catch scum through logic, of course!
Back in my day, night actions were heavily relied on to establish such logic, but it seems as though there is a large number of VT's in some of these games. So I'd expect to catch scum pretty accurately based on lynch wagons and who does and does not take part in voting. After enough people flip, it shouldn't be too hard to compare the results. But when you start throwing in night results, it becomes that much easier.

I fail to see how saying "I'm not going to look at how people act, I'm just going to wait until people start getting lynched and try some PoE" is coming from a town mindset. At this stage in the game, all we've got to go in is behavior! Between these comments and your "mass claim" idea, I have serious doubts about your towniness.
Teia, what's your opinion on RVS votes as scumtells? Do you think they can be at all reliable?
I don't think they work as scumtells in and of themselves, but they can be a good starting point to get a feel for a person's alignment. For instance, if you question someone about their RVS activity, their reaction to that questioning is more important than the behaviour itself.
Flatly calling me scum and voting me doesn't exactly leave much room for constructive response. Especially when you'd already posted this before I posted again. You'd already said you wouldn't provide reasoning for your vote at the moment, so the only question for me to ask (i.e. what your reasoning is) is pointless. Therefore I ignored it.
Also for the record, I've only played with Iso in Mod Mafia 6. I was the doc, he was VT.
So I'd expect to catch scum pretty accurately based on lynch wagons and who does and does not take part in voting.
There's enough content by now to start looking for vote patterns if that's how you'd rather do things. But do something if you want to try convincing me you're town. Everything you're posting is weaselly and more or less an excuse for active lurking. Give us more content and less excuses.

The meta argument? Because I thought there was more to it than that and that you'd be building upon your case.
The thing about trying to draw conclusions based on my town meta from MM6 is that MM6 was a trainwreck. You can infer a few things, but saying "scum Teia does this, town Teia does that" doesn't work because you don't have a complete picture to draw upon. Plus you're using secondhand information about a game you can't read personally.

Also before I forget to mention, I talked with an admin before this game started about quoting mod lounge modfia posts outside the ML and the basic answer is that quoting them (either in game threads or privately) isn't allowed.
Mod Mafia 6 was awful, so take this recollection with a grain of put-it-out-of-mind-because-it-was-barely-a-game.
Teia spent a lot of that game jumping at shadows. Basically you could not vocalize criticism of her game actions without her bursting static. I recall it making the game very painful, since her doc claim was solid, but her behavior was scumtastic, & her response to attention was hyper-aggressive posting.
We had a massive lurking problem as well, between that & copious amounts of static it was hard to feel like it was anything but a crap shoot.
The clearest thing I can say in hindsight about Teia from MM6 is that having learned the game as scum made it really hard for her to then make the transition to being a productive townie.
Oh man MM6 was awesome
We thought Teia was scum because she random rolled her RVS vote, she and ria made each other angry enough to tank the MYLO so I "won." ER also caught Teia as scum in the last game (MM7), but more because of being a good watcher than behavior.
KK - I meant "solid" as in it was all RVS from Megs up to there and then only one or two other RVS posts spaced out later, not sure if you are misunderstanding that for "solid" as in high quality or something
I don't think I've ever played with Iso as scum, what are you going on with that vote, Wheat_Grinder?
Teia, what's your opinion on RVS votes as scumtells? Do you think they can be at all reliable?

Total red herring there, dammit.
It did lead me to this, though - unvote, vote Iso.
Can I ask why you are switched to Iso? Not that I don't appreciate the support.

I am not looking for answers as to why you think doing anything but vomiting information into this thread is a good idea. I want you to hunt scum. You still have yet to put any solid opinion into this thread, and are continuing to just skate by as if we won't notice your complete lack of meaningful contributions.
1. I did not distort your words. You said you thought he was scum but maybe not because noob. Fence-sitting at its finest.
2. Your ignoring every post that isn't about your flimsy claiming. Well, until now.
3. You've only addressed your claiming scheme, not a single post about anyone that would be considered even in the slightest scumhunting.
Now, your telling the town that the reason you are not worried about cases and the fact that your a non-factor in this game is because your bad at it? Because you don't believe, (and this is hillarious) that behavior can be a tell if someone is scum or town?
Confirm Vote.
Aside : I have no interest in using meta on Teia, since the only people applying that meta are the ones who can actually see it and the ones who always use meta as an excuse for scumhunting instead of actual scumhunting.
Basically, he tried to push a wagon on GM with no basis and was flippant when questioned about it, and then pointed fingers at three other players. It just seems to me like he's flailing around attempting to start a wagon wherever he can.
I would call a post where i call you scum a huge post.

False. If anything, that was Teia. I said that he was one of the only people that I thought was leaning town because I don't think that scum can easily mock some of the noob posts he made.
2. Your ignoring every post that isn't about your flimsy claiming. Well, until now.
3. You've only addressed your claiming scheme, not a single post about anyone that would be considered even in the slightest scumhunting.
Alright, are we ready to move past this? You don't need to be the 4th person to tell me that I'm not scumhunting. I get it.

Yes. That is exactly what I am telling you.

This would have more weight coming from someone I didn't also strongly suspect as scum. Does anyone who isn't Iso want to confirm that this is a common thing?
I am not at all surprised that Iso is racking up votes, his play style is aggressive and tends to irritate people, which seems to be his main strategy for getting reactions. It's been the same in the two games I've played with him, where he was town. I would expect Iso to stay pretty consistent between his town and scum games, which is why I'm asking Wheat_Grinder what his vote for Iso is based on.
I don't think I've ever played with Iso as scum, what are you going on with that vote, Wheat_Grinder?
I'm going on detailed knowledge of how Iso's brain works. I literally have made a flowchart for detailing his alignment. No one could read Iso, so I made a study of it. And I'm finally at the point where I can read him with great certainty.
You see, scum Iso is very good at saying things that sound like they could be right but are not. But he sometimes makes a mistake, which he covers with a thinly veiled lie.
For example: He claimed he had 4 abilities in Starcraft mafia as scum, and when told two didn't make sense he said he had made up those abilities and *got away with it*.
And now this game, he claimed that he forgot I didn't know GM's meta, after I said I didn't know GM's meta *twice*.

Some of your posts have come off as odd, but ultimately, yes. At this time I do think that you are leaning town. I feel as though scum take greater care in choosing what they post, so I do not think that you would have made some of the points that you used against me if you were scum.
I do, however, think that there is at least one scum hiding between you, KK, and Teia. So watch out.

"I'm a compulsive liar no matter what team I play on, but I'm trying to get better about it."
I've got to go V/LA through at least Thursday, the proverbial **** is hitting the proverbial fan at work so my focus will be elsewhere. I'll try to keep up with what's going on as I get breaks, but I make no promises.
I was initially interested in Teia's lack of an RVS vote, but after reading through the start of the game again I realized that this was probably just because the RVS ended so quickly.
The game started not too long after I went to sleep for the night, and when I woke up RVS was over.
Basically, he tried to push a wagon on GM with no basis and was flippant when questioned about it, and then pointed fingers at three other players. It just seems to me like he's flailing around attempting to start a wagon wherever he can.
I'm going to illustrate Iso's voting:
- "Serious vote" on GM. He then tunnels GM pretty hard but in a shallow way for a little while
- Votes me without any reasoning. The reason I ignored this vote was because it seemed like he was just trying to get reactions from people by throwing an intentionally bad vote onto me.
- Switches back to GM. Reasons include supposedly feigned surprise about being nathed, and only focusing on the KK situation (with specific mentions of a Teia "wagon" that was only ever two votes). Then after arguing the GM issue a bit, he goes and says he's going to lurk for a few days.
So yeah, tunneling someone with specious reasoning, switching votes only to start a "wagon" (his term) on someone else for basically no stated reason. I'm leaving my vote on hansanator, though, so FOS Iso.
False. If anything, that was Teia. I said that he was one of the only people that I thought was leaning town because I don't think that scum can easily mock some of the noob posts he made.
I've seen noob scum make some pretty obviously noobish posts. The noob card isn't a Get Out Of Scum free card. This is why I pressured Jay into providing some reads—I wanted some solid information to go on.
Speaking of that, do you have any more reads or some analysis to share? You implied that you think Iso is town, but do so through fallacious reasoning that since you've never seen someone acting a certain way flip scum. You later said that you think there's at least one scum in Arcadic/KK/myself (right after you said you thought Arcadic was leaning town), but didn't go into any reasoning for this. But I'm still not seeing any strong opinions from you except for when you're making excuses and being defensive. Given how scummy you're acting, why shouldn't we lynch you?
Alright, the reading of hansanator's games is done, though they're all still in progress. After the reading I want to wait until we have a strong scum motivation because inexperienced and borderline active lurking seems the be the standard with him, especially early.
Teia's recent play has gotten my attention again. She gave up on pushing me more easily than I'd expect her to as town and now she's back to her more passive scum play. (ex: joining the hansanator wagon after he's tried to defend himself and not looked that great at it; fosing iso once he's the popular wagon.)

My 'buddying' as you called it is no different than my normal posting. Any of you who've interacted with me on a regular basis can confirm that.
I'm withholding judgment on anyone else for now.
That is what I meant. I apologize for the confusion, I was trying to be flavorful by referring to town as 'good' pokemon.
I'm new, so yes there are a few details I need explained, and I figured I'd get answer faster posting here.

This is the second time you have done this: this is the second time you have completely misconstrued what I have said.
IGMEOY.

Wow this sounds differently than I intended on re-read. What I mean to say was "I'm going to respond to as many instances of my name that popped up as possible, to avoid being suspicious by not answering a question by mistake." I'm having fun so I hope no one took that the wrong way.
Also: Unvote Handsanitizer

You don't need to prove you're scumhunting, or you don't need to scumhunt? Either way, asking you for content is hardly unreasonable.
The thing is that for all you've been posting, you haven't really done much beyond propose an awful softclaim idea and try to justify a lack of scumhunting. I'm not exactly enthused by your desire to sit back and do nothing and let things come to you, rather than you going out and actually doing some work.
This just reeks of being noncommittal with how much you feel the need to qualify everything so you end up with a weak read. Are you honestly trying to tell me that you can't commit to any actual reads despite that we've got over 100 posts of content to work with?
Okay, fair enough.
Kind of deflective ("no, you're the one attacking someone for ignoring posts!"), definitely defensive, still not contributing actual content of your own. This easily makes you my strongest scum read.
Unvote, vote hansanator
I don't need to fool anyone into thinking that I am scum hunting. Also this:
Ok
Yes. That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you. My noncommittal-ness is just me acknowledging the fact that I am not as arrogant as many of the people on this site. I know that I'm not always right, and my views, therefore, are subject to change.
I haven't seen one person ever who has been able to correctly read me without me giving them some sort of hint/spoiler.

unvote until I've read a couple of Hansanator's past games.
@GM: Why do you say your "nath attack" post was the solid end of RVS?
This explanation does not fit your actions.
Unvote, Vote: Iso
I know I asked this in relation to GM but now I'm realizing I still want the answer independent of GM.
With this response I'm pretty sure that Jay is town given his townslip earlier; this doesn't sound like it was fed to him by a scumbuddy.
Teia flubbers around as town, but asks a lot of questions and makes a lot of "good" observations as scum.
I heard that this is the case and even saw it proven in (game redacted until it finishes).
Can any mods look up for me how often Teia has played with Iso, and what Teia's alignment was those games?
This is entirely your sample size; you can't seriously believe that an entire community is founded on a false belief. People being bad at behavioral analysis ≠ behavioral analysis doesn't work. But now I'm curious – how do you expect to find scum, exactly?
But it was proven to me so thoroughly that I'm very certain it's true.
Also Teia completely ignored my vote on her.
Picking up on these things is exactly what behavioral analysis is
I expect to catch scum through logic, of course!
Previous Mafia Experience:

I fail to see how saying "I'm not going to look at how people act, I'm just going to wait until people start getting lynched and try some PoE" is coming from a town mindset. At this stage in the game, all we've got to go in is behavior! Between these comments and your "mass claim" idea, I have serious doubts about your towniness.

Special thanks to Serrot_29 for Catbug'mrakul!
There's enough content by now to start looking for vote patterns if that's how you'd rather do things. But do something if you want to try convincing me you're town. Everything you're posting is weaselly and more or less an excuse for active lurking. Give us more content and less excuses.
Also for the record, I've only played with Iso in Mod Mafia 6. I was the doc, he was VT.[/quote]
Okay, I can see why you ignored it.
But why are you ignoring the meat of my case now?
The meta argument? Because I thought there was more to it than that and that you'd be building upon your case.
The thing about trying to draw conclusions based on my town meta from MM6 is that MM6 was a trainwreck. You can infer a few things, but saying "scum Teia does this, town Teia does that" doesn't work because you don't have a complete picture to draw upon. Plus you're using secondhand information about a game you can't read personally.
Ok, then how do you normally act as town?
Can I ask why you are switched to Iso? Not that I don't appreciate the support.

I would call a post where i call you scum a huge post.
