Ok first off im just going to ignore standard applications. Mayne its a thing and maybe it works better than we all think it does but we just haven't seen the cards it works with be spoiled yet.
Oh and to all the "man this thing dies to naturalize and all the other psudo naturalize effects" please stop its really sad considering those SAME CARDS kill mono enchantments and mono artifacts :/
IF your going to ***** about it being easy to kill give examples of cards that say ONLY kill artifacts or ONLY kill enchantments. Also throw out one of those arguments as it would have been vulnerable to one of them already.......... also its blue so....negate?
Im just happy it has 2 ability's! 1 static and 1 tap. Cards that serve multiple purposes just make me sqee with glee Maybe its easy to kill but still i love the design and ill happily play this in my American flying crowd control EDH and laugh as there army dies to lightmine field while my flyers draw me into victory

Yes, it dies to removal. That's what removal does.
I always think its funny when people trot out the "it dies to removal" line as a criticism of a card. Removal removes. Besides that, what do you think of the card? i still find it kind of meh.
This is crazy. In a stupid way. Legendary Enchantment Artifact... And to think that Esper getting colored artifacts as a "mechanic" was a big deal... Sarcomite Myr feels like a chump. Legendary Enchantment Artifact sounds like a troll just dropped by the Speculation forum.
Wow, an enchantment that taps...yes, it is an artifact as well, but it is STILL an enchantment...
Well, that's one thing I certainly got wrong. I stated there was no way they would ever do it. Very interesting way of doing things...and this makes me have high hopes for Lucent Liminid.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm pulling for you, Lucent Liminid!
I actually find this to be underwhelming, for I was expecting the deities' weapons to be equipments, the ability is not properly "godlike," to me, and the name of the card is not even the weapon's actual name! In the Planeswalker's Guide to Theros, WotC clearly states that each weapon has its own name, and the name of Thassa's weapon is Dekella, so why did they not put that name in the name of the card? That makes no sense to me.
And why is Thassa's weapon a bident, rather than a trident? I know that WotC likely wished to make Thassa distinct from Poseidon, but so few people in modern times are familiar with two-pronged spears over three-pronged spears, so it would likely have been better to have used the familiar design. Plus, tridents are typically more practical in combat and more aesthetically-pleasing to most people, so I find WotC's choice to use a bident to be an unusual one.

The card is actually decently strong and very useful with some good synergies (break out those prowling rogues or cipher spells?)
And the only justification it needs for being an Enchantment Artifact is flavor. It's an artifact that isn't just magical, it's made out of magic. Idk, I think that's pretty cool.

Yes, which is why we need the other shoe (why do we want to play enchantments in Theros) to drop for this card to make complete sense.
But doesn't that seem like it might be too parasitic? I mean, why do we want them to be enchantments in the larger card pool; is there enough support in the current card pool to justify it outside of Theros?
I understand it's a little too early to judge how parasitic this would be and I'm not trying to blow it out of proportion. I'm just trying to raise realistic questions.

There's a ton of enchantment support scattered throughout magics history.
There's a ton of enchantment support scattered throughout magics history.
There are lot or cards that interact with enchantments that is true, but are there enough fun or tournament viable options for us to want this dual typing or for it to be justified? Being able to Idyllic Tutor for them is neat, but I don't know if that is good enough, if you get my meaning.
Interestingly there is already an enchantment (aura) with a tap ability. Flowstone Embrace. Am interested to see what other abilities come from enchantments.
This card really is perplexing to me. It inexplicably has two mechanically similar supertypes (any meaningful distinction between the two went out the window in Planar Chaos and Shards of Alara), and despite being blue it has two clearly red abilities. I really hope Wizards isn't backsliding into the old mistake of "blue can do anything because wizards can do anything and wizards are blue because wizards are so smart and blue is the color of mind magic". Let's not have more Prodigal Sorcerer + Spiny Starfish nonsense, please.

Well tbh i dont feel a 'need' for something beyond just a simple enchantment theme. Now dont get me wrong my guess is they will suport enchantments as much as they supported artifacts in Mirrodin.
also their are really easy cards that make being an enchantment good like auromancer for example or "+1/+1" for each enchantment you control.
My prediction thou is something like "Army of the Gods"
( All non aura enchantments are creatures in addition to their other types with "this creatures power and toughness are each equal to its converted mana cost") or better yet ( All non aura enchantments are creatures in addition to their other types with "This creatures gets +X/+X where X is equal to its converted mana cost")
Suddenly Lucent Liminid is an 8/8 while your other enchantments become an army

I like this card, but find it really strange that the line between artifacts and enchantments have been blurred. As long as there is an acceptable story behind it, I guess it is fine.
This could be fun with Lightmine Field and others card w/ a similar ability.
Something is odd about it though:
everything else, close up, is clear. I think the poster would be as clear to the eye as the thumb tack. I am skeptical at this point, but will not completely disregard it... Why is it so blurry, when the ink spots are visible for the tan color of the poster?

Which red card do you know of that allows for card draw after damage? This has always been a blue ability. The card is very similar to Costal Piracy. The tap ability has been in blue many times before. From Alpha, we have Siren's Call, and this ability has also been in recent Core Sets on cards like Alluring Siren and Courtly Provocateur.

This really isn't out of blue's part of the pie. The card draw on your creatures connecting has gone as far back as Ophidian and forcing creatures to attack was done a while back with Alluring Siren. Being an artifact enchantment works too because the triggered ability slides into the enchantment side and the tap effect fits the artifact side. Really this card is oozing with synergy the way I see it.
eh..........
its actually an interesting card for what it does, but design-wise it feels all over the place. i mean the enchantment type is already a little gimmicky. isn't this thing supposed to control the ocean or something? I just don't get it flavorwise how your creatures get you cards and you can swing it to make your opponents creatures attack? why not tap them down with a tidal wave?
this card is just weird, not bad, but a flavor disaster.
also I don't see why people are surprised that it taps. yes it is a tapping enchantment, that is apparently weird, but it is really an artifact that just is imbued with the power of the gods that makes it an enchantment. just a godly blue artifact that taps like any other artifact, nothing weird at all about that...
I think they tried this first with '2[u] [tap]: tap all creatures target player controls' then IMMEDIATELY REALIZED that the ability to perma tap your opponents creatures wile also giving blue card advantage 'ie more counter spells to keep this chain going' was a horrible idea.... like turn 5 game lock forever ......... so ya maybe that's why its making them tap threw attacking and not just purma tapped?

I stand corrected on the card-drawing ability, but forced-attacking has been in red's portion of the color pie ever since the color pie started making sense. I reject any citation of cards from Alpha or Legends as an example of valid color pie decisions.

I can't believe I'm the first person to mention that this is watermarked. Not the usual shooting star FNM watermark, but a new design similar to the Ravnica/Mirrodin watermarks.
This is particularly notable because none of the other spoiled cards have a watermark. My first thought was that god-affiliated cards have it, but that would include Ordeal of Purphoros. The most likely scenario is that the watermarks go on god related dual type enchantments or the cards with the new border (these might have a 1 to 1 correspondence). It could also just be a new trend in FNM watermarking, and have nothing to do with Theros specifically.
Edit: Oops, I thought this was an FNM promo, not just spoiled on the poster. Theros definitely has watermarks then.

Why, though? It served to prove the idea of dual typing, and is among the most boring futureshifted cards.

There's a bunch of Auras that grant creatures a tap ability, but that one is the only one to have one itself.
There are literally only two, and both are in Future Sight.
