I found this on a popular auction site (and the site edited by the seller onto the card image). It's being sold by the same person who has previously sold many legit early judge promos, so I'm sure it's for real.
This certainly makes up for the Ravenous Baloth promo.
My jaw justy hit the floor, rolled down the stairs, out the door, across then street, and got run over by an 18 wheeler...needless to say I'm speechless. 4x for Extended plz Santa kthxbye
A-W-E-S-O-M-E! It's a shame Judge Promos are so expensive...
Is it me or they're doing more and more promos nowadays? Judge, FNM, Player's Rewards, Scholarship, Gateway, Pre-Release, Release, The Fruitcake, That Asian Plains, JSS... And I know I forgot some.
Not that I'm complaining, but they have so little supply that some of their prices skyrocket in no time... (Ok, I am complaining. Print them for everyone, I say!)
Well Judges dont get paid or anything, this is the incentive to becoming a Judge. In reality Wizards wants them to keep them as a sort of badge of honor, liek look at muh trady folder you cant have it you nota judge naananananana. Ebay just bastardizes that.
All the promos are for is to make you play more and more playing equals more buying. Also, becoming a judge helps you learn a lot about the game.

Don't mind my posts, they are probably just a product of gang violence
"If I do go to heaven, I'll smack god across the face and tell him to get me a grilled-cheeses sandwhich and then say 'Yea what now god!? Say some'in! I dare you!' "
I just saw the rest of this seller's offerings. I never realized there were so many alternate art cards...geesh. I agree that the red splash makes it definitely more attractive ala FoW.
Yeah, definitely printing money, eh? Just about everything playable has been or is being printed in rare promo versions. I feel sorry for players who can't play with a card unless it's the most rare and expensive version possible. Foil unhinged lands being "not expensive enough" for their playtest decks, etc.
That alternate art is just beautiful. I absolutely love it.
And I have to agree with Rancored_Elf that the Judge Promos WoTC has been putting out lately has been pure $$, except for the Baloth (although I still love Baloth.)
Either way its a great looking card, and I look forward for trying to get my hands on some of these babys..
Please, accept that Magic costs money to play, and drop it. A playset of Baneslayers>playset of duals. New Jace>Force of Will. Etc... Not to mention, Legacy is so wide open, that it's easy to build a deck that can perform reasonably well without very many "money staples" at all.
I wish I knew if these are for all judges *smiles*? Or if they are just for the ones who do the higher REL events like Pro Tours, Grand Prixs, Nats, etc.. *half-frown*?

Hello two hundred dollars! You are mighty pretty in the shiny blue and red outfit you wear!
Edit: For more content - Lemme just say I fully approve of this and cards of like power level to be judge promos! I might just snag one of these on ebay - right after I pick up my textless ***'s.
I like it; I wonder if this is the Judge Rewards that should've come out in...September...
Please don't become a judge, then, if promo cards is why you want to judge.
Actually, I was jsut being vague, which was pretty stupid.
I actually really like to answer rules questions.
I sit in the MTGO Rules Help room pretty much all the time I am on the computer waiting for people to ask questions so I can answer them.
I really want to be a judge, and have for a while.
The promo cards just make me want to be one even more.

I need to quicky chip in. please only become a judge if you enjoy judging. dont do it for product or for cards. Pretty much all of these promo cards are only handed out to judges who work at GP's and PT's and nats level tournies. If you enjoy it go ahead. otherwise please just trade.
Anyway. This Art ROCKS. i have to say it is a huge improvment over the original, just a pity about the boarder :-P.
I whole heartedly agree. I love the personal dynamic of judging, interacting with players and being the 'it' guy when problems arise so that a tournament can run smoothly. I know a person or two who want to become judges for the product, but they don't see the whole picture. One who did was a player who wanted 'a sure thing.' Needless to say, he was a horrible judge who didn't do much.
To actually comment on the card, this is a BEAUTIFUL rendition of a staple. This brings up a question though...Wizards has been ramping up the number of playable promos which have been printed lately (deed, pikula, exalted angel, grim lavamancer last year, eternal dragon, spiritmonger, ***, ravenous baloth, cunning wish this year + all the fnm cards), what's going to happen when they run out of staple cards to tease us with? I wouldn't mind getting hold of them, but when some of these things get inevitably cycled through again, don't they start to lose their appeal?

I see nothing wrong with being a judge in order to receive judge rewards as long as one holds themselves to the same guidelines set forth by the DCI to begin with. They MAKE these promos to give incentive to become a judge, because without judges, then there's a general breakdown of the foundations of organized play. It loses it's legitimacy and "seriousness". So with that said, I say if this entices you to become a judge, then obviously the people who are in charge of choosing Judge Rewards are doing an excellent job (Ravenous baloth was a bit of a stinker though).
I like the card choice and the new art for the record.
yeah i love these alternative art cards for judge promos. very sleek and look wonderful in new style card frame. it's just too bad it's impossible not to drop a pretty penny if you want even just one.
well guys it has been on ebay for 4 hours and it is allready 91.00 dollars. and just in case if anyone still doubt's its realness. colin jackson is selling it it is real
Meh. I preferred the old one. The cycle of the Djinns was too cool.
But it's über sexy

Yeah. It looks more like Burning Wish than Cunning Wish. *shrug* I guess WoTC interpreted the art differently.
