I know you’ll understand if I tell you that, what with all the strange goings-on recently, when I settled down to sleep last night, I felt a little uneasy. In fact, I lay staring at the ceiling for what seemed like hours before I finally dropped off. No sooner was I asleep, though, when I felt that chill breeze again, and my eyes snapped open. I looked up to see the moon hanging low and gibbous in the sky, and realised I was lying on a gritty stone floor in the shell of a ruined building! Leaping to my feet, I looked around at what seemed to be the remains of a small settlement atop a ridge on a dusty, barren plain. I must be dreaming, I thought to myself, but how can I wake myself up?
The breeze rose up again, blowing the salty dust into my face, but this time it carried a faint voice with it. “Kom…,” it seemed to be saying. “Kom…” I quickly clambered over the broken wall, and hurried down the empty streets in the direction the wind was coming from. I soon left the broken buildings behind, and found myself heading towards a wall of majestic trees, that looked as though they must be the edge of a vast forest. With a few strides, I was in amongst the trees, and the wind died away, leaving a peaceful silence. The trees were bare of leaves, I noticed, and a musty smell hung in the air. Looking around for the source of the voice, I caught sight of a faint phosphorescent glow ahead of me through the trees. With nothing else to guide me, I headed towards the light. In moments, I found myself in a small clearing, lit by luminous patches on the inner sides of the encircling trees. In the centre of the clearing was a broad tree-stump about waist-high, ringed with mushroom-shaped stones. Sitting on one of these, gazing intently at me, was a long-limbed blonde woman. She smiled sweetly, and gestured at the stone opposite her. “Kom,” she said, and I couldn’t refuse. I crossed to the stump and sat down, looking at her more closely. She was wearing some kind of shimmering, layered white robe, and I noticed that her ears were elongated, tapering to a point at the top. She smiled again, and handed me a deck of Magic cards. You can imagine my surprise! Taking the deck, I looked through it, and realised it was the black-red sealed deck I’d managed to do rather poorly with at the Planar Chaos pre-release. She was shuffling a deck of her own, and clearly intended for us to play a game. If this was what she had brought me here for, who was I to argue? I began to shuffle my deck, and woke with start. Back in my bedroom, I found myself sitting on the edge of the bed. I quickly turned the light on, but my room looked no different than normal. Trying desperately to recall my dream, I had a vague sense that we’d played a whole game, but the details were hard to recall. She’d beaten me soundly, I felt, with a white-green deck that stalled the ground and then finished me off with unblockable fatties – and she was playing with Future Sight cards! I’ve managed to piece together a couple of cards for you – I’m sorry I couldn’t remember any more. Llanowar Empath ![]() ![]() Creature – Elf Shaman (common) When Llanowar Empath comes into play, scry 2, then reveal the top card of your library. If it’s a creature card, put it into your hand. 2/2 Lymph Sliver ![]() ![]() Creature – Sliver (common) All Sliver creatures have absorb 1. (If a source would deal damage to a Sliver creature, prevent 1 of that damage.) 3/3 Spirit en-Dal ![]() ![]() Creature - Spirit (uncommon) Shadow (This creature can block or be blocked by only creatures with shadow.) Forecast - ![]() , Reveal Spirit en-Dal from your hand: Target creature gains shadow until end of turn. (Play this ability only during your upkeep and only once each turn.)2/1

Spirit en-Dal?
Since it is en, not il, we can rule out shadow. I am willing to place my bets on lifelink (if it is spirit-link ability), and probably flying. |

Spirit en-Dal could have Absorb 1+Soulshift, which would be quite nice ( even if not really usefull).

Not much, just limited cards. Still, the story was quite...different.

White sliver got a boost [in limited at least]. The elf is cool specially for MGC as cards filter. If you can't work out how you control in mono-green you're too unimaginitive.

Green gains a lil more draw and Slivers are now wearing Urza's Armor.

Nice dream! It reminded me of this dream I had where that hot elf chick from lord of the rings and Angelina Jolie..
umm So how about them cards eh? I bet Spirit en-dal has lifelink and an as of yet unknown keyword which makes the creature completly unblockable. |

The Elf is a bit disappointing in that it doesn't put the creature card into play, like Call of the Wild, Killer Instinct, or Zoologist do (all three of those carrds have a similar ability that depends on the top card of the library being a creature). Still, decent in Limited, I'd say.
We've expected the Lymph Sliver from earlier rumors. I dislike the keyword Absorb; it doesn't seem an important enough ability that they need to keyword it. Quote:

The new word templating can really open up some crazy possibilities (i.e.: scry 2 in the middle of the rest of the abilities).
It feels weird at first but then you see the possibilities open and it seems so cool. |

I don't recall her gaining life. And I'm sure both the keywords were old ones - I'd just never seen them together before. Oddly enough, I think the reason I don't remember the card too clearly was because it was never on the table...

It would be funny if you actually just dreamed these up....like you even warned us and put a tag in the title. But i guess your credibility would suffer so i guess you wouldn't do that. Cards in itself are kinda boring and I agree that absorb is not much of a common ability.Perhaps that will change in Future (sigh(t))?
My bet is on Flying and Haunt. |
