"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade."
I find the possibility of Bateleur being a jester almost nill. While I can't agree with the 'replacement ftw' sentiment of some, I can certainly say that Xyre would probably never successfully host another game on here if he actually included a Jester in forum mafia. Besides, what kind of Jester would be able to vote for/lynch themself. That makes no sense(not that making sense is really a prerequisite to the joke of a role that Jester, but, still).
Seriously, Bateleur is just playing games. He tried to further his 'apparent townieness' by claiming to have reactively killed Az, and basically got counterclaimed on it, then gave up. It's an unfortunate/cop-out way to play it, but, it happens.
Just waiting for Xyre at this point - I can't fathom bateleur's play from any perspective other than wanting to be lynched at this point, either, so this should be interesting.
I agree with Cyan on this part. With hammering himself, I find it highly unlikely for him to be town. He said all will be revealed, so either he's scum, or his role will make sense upon his death. Probably the former. If he is, props to Cyan for staying after him ;).

Level 1 Judge
Hey, you! Yeah, you behind the computer screen! You're unconstitutional.
So, damn, I did it again. Sorry. Where I was a couple days back Bat seemed like the right lynch, and now it seems like he's been lynched. Anyways, I'll read up on what specifically went down in the past 2 days. I promise to participate more tomorrow.
The "Welcome Back Kotter" Vote Count
(10 to lynch)
carrion pigeons - 2 (StormBlind, bateleur)
Wrath_of_DoG - 2 (creampuffeater, Disrupt Your Hymn)
bateleur - 10 (loran16, Billium Tate, AlphaInsidious, Ged, Sutherlands, carrion pigeons, Wrath_of_DoG, Niv, Cyan, bateleur)
Michael's been noticeably absent for a few hours, but that doesn't stop the town from surrounding bateleur. He's remarkably cool-headed, despite the fate approaching. You notice not one drop of sweat on his dreadlocks.
...wait. Dreadlocks?
Cyan sighs and points what looks like a giant water pistol, apparently filled with some kind of noxious acid, at bat. "Any last words?"
Bateleur grins. "You're watching me now, gents. Just don't blink."
You all pause for a second, considering his words. "To hell with that!" loran says, grabbing the gun from Cyan's hands and firing the liquid inside at bateleur. By the time it reaches its intended target, however, bateleur is no longer there. Michael's remote falls to the ground, right next to a trapdoor that had just been opened, dropping bateleur into the sewers below. You all try to find the right button, to no avail. Bateleur's long gone.
He's left a few things behind, however. One is his room key, and on close inspection of his room, you learn, to your frustration, he was Kele Okereke, Neutral Jester. The other is the familiar scrap of paper.
"You don't remember, you don't remember
Why don't you remember my name?"
Michael wanders back in. "What did I miss?"
bateleur has completed his win condition and thus has "won" the game. However, play will continue until one of the factions has triumphed.
Because I will be busy during the holidays, night will last 96 hours instead of 72. All choices submitted after that deadline will not count, although groups may talk until the scene comes up.
Also, I recognize some of you are going to be displeased about bateleur's role. To avoid giving too much away, a discussion of his role will follow the game, but you can forward any complaints to me via PM.
While I await reply from RDSGD4, I'll just post the scene:
You all wander back from your rooms, bleary-eyed and still a bit angry with Michael, who's a total jerk. I mean, who invites Kele Okereke? Seriously.
He wanders back in, carrying a platter of pastries and several mimosas. "Well, gentlemen, I hope you slept a bit better. I apologize again to those of you who wished you hadn't, but I made a decision I felt was necessary for the game.
"Anyway, I hope these will make it up to you to some extent, and you know the rest. Good luck." And he returns to his corner.
"Ah, Miss, hope is an excellent thing for such as has the spirits to bear it!" said Mrs Wickam, shaking her head. "My own spirits is not equal to it, but I don't owe it any grudge. I envys them that is so blest!"
Oh man, it's a good thing that we let Bateleur live for two days so that he could provide us with so much useful information. Seriously, some day people are going to realize to stop just blindly trusting every claim that could theoretically provide some information in some warped reality, nevermind any gross inconsistencies that go along with it. I mean seriously, Bateleur was clearly TRYING to get lynched, and it still took a ridiculous effort to do so.
Oh, and now that we know for an absolute fact that Bateleur was a huge liar, can we PLEASE go after Loran now? Only Bateleur's statement got him off of the hook, and we all know exactly how much that meant now(jack squat). Vote Loran. Finally.
So, I guess this gives the Loran case some steam, while Bat's alignment says nothing of Loran's, he was at the verge of lynch, and several people have been completely confidant of his scuminess.
Frankly I've never (or rarely) seen the case on Loran, in ANY GAME I've been in with him. So I'm not going to trust my own perspective here. What I do want to know (mainly from Cyan or Ged, is do you recall Loran playing in a different manner as town?)
I'm also very interested in looking at CP, he was very gung-ho about lynching Bat, but seemed some how disigneous and from a mafia's perspective, bat must have appeared to be a huge threat. I hope to find tangible evidence of where his posts were contrived.
"His wardrobe was extensive--very extensive--not strictly classical perhaps, not quite new, nor did it contain any one garment made precisely after the fashion of any age or time, but everything was more or less spangled; and what can be prettier than spangles!"
I have played in countless games with Loran. He was town in plenty of them. And I can definitively say that the difference in the way he acts as scum vs. the way that he acts as town is, quite literally, the difference between night and day. Loran acts one way as scum, and another way as town. In this game, he has acted as Loran does as scum. I'm sure he enjoyed the free pass that Bateleur's dodgy behavior granted him, but, even so, he continued to act scummy, possibly MORESO than he was before Bateleur bailed him out. To me, what happened here seems obvious. Loran knew that he got a lucky save from someone that he knew to not be mafia, and instead of playing it cool, tried to take advantage of it and act however he wanted, knowing that he might not ever be called on it. Luckily for all of us, it didn't work out that way. Now it's time for him to come to terms with his actions.
This seems like a rather easy decision.
Now that he doesn't have bat giving him a free ride, I don't see any reason not to vote for him. I imagine at this point we're just waiting for him to again get enough votes to make him claim.
I don't know if nom is town or scum. But I'd like to point out this type of behavior is his standard modus operandi.
Court Mafia: Day 1, hatch plan to KILL EVERYONE ELSE IN A SINGLE NIGHT, when the plan only allows him to hit 11 random players, ATTEMPTS TO FIRE ANYHOW (Roleblocked).
In other words....Nom is an impulsive player who doesn't think about planning long-term or listening to others. I wouldn't be surprised if he was town. At all.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
3 more votes to lynch, in case anyone feels like discussing anything before we move to night, or if someone feels like introducing an even more compelling case against someone.

Well..I guess that is an admission of guilt if I've ever seen one. I guess it's hard to have some role 'verify' your role and buy you out of a bad situation, only to then find out that that person was just doing everything in their power to get themselves lynched, thus hanging you in the process. It would certainly suck if Loran turned out to be town, but, I can't see that being possible under any circumstances imaginable. To explain to you the role Inventor....essentially its a role that through some mechanic or another gives other players gifts and by gifts i mean new abilities.
The way it works generally varies from game to game. A fun role when used.

To explain to you the role Inventor....essentially its a role that through some mechanic or another gives other players gifts and by gifts i mean new abilities.
The way it works generally varies from game to game. A fun role when used.
DYH, the sense of humor i mentioned xyre having? It's even sicker than you know. I'll explain after the game (or when you're dead)
Logical Reasoning is dead; Long Live Stupidity
So....
Why aren't you defending yourself?

Clearly it's not, as you are the scumiest person in the game. and without bate defending you, you were 100% scum. speeking of that 100% scm thing, i don't see anything else that needs to be discussed today and for that i will now Vote Loran Die scum Die!

It's been a bit since loran was discussed, what was it he lied about again?

I certainly hope that it's not. If it is, that's a pretty damn poor reason for WoD to be voting loran. I didn't even consider that WoD was referring to the loran option rather than the liar option.
