The comment on Boldwyr Intimidator should be replaced with something a lot less idiotic. Come on, the guy supports a tribe that's confirmed to be supported in Morningtide for Tarmogoyf's sake! Why in the hell is that anagram garbage even still mentioned? It's not April anymore, everyone realizes it was just meaningless broken English. Unless you honestly believe there's a chance he was meant to hint at some other Celtic-inspired set that supports Warriors and is part of a block that supports Giants and has creatures that count as Cowards, ditch that wishy-washy bs and use the meaningful evidence we now have.

I'm really digging the 'monolithic' and 'epic' nature of the art and the themes in this set. That Treefolk is clearly either a Treefolk Wizard, or more likely, a Treefolk Shaman. He is casting a lightning spell, and has a familiar.

So much of the art just screams: "Kithkin Warrior" or "Merfolk Rogue." It's like they are designing Diablo 3 or something...

mm i know lorwyn is a more primitive plane, but still...white and black traditionally have the soldiers..warriors and shamans belong in red and green
oh well, atleast the art's still pretty cool
i just hope the guy who did tarfire/pitcher/hostility doesn't have more art in this set. wow it looks so bad

Dude, he was a member of the art team for the set. They have pics of him hanging with the other guys.

Honestly, only hostility doesn't make me happy, but only becuase it is so random looking and doesn't get my eye.

Tarfire/pitcher is pretty good IMO

Omar Rayyan, is my Rebecca Guay. All his pictures are so... granulated. It's annoying to look at. I still can't tell what Hostility is.

Rebecca Guay, meanwhile, just continues to be contracted to draw cards which her style is simply ill-suited for. Scryb Ranger was appropriate. Freewind Equenaut was good. Most everything else is a misuse of her style.

I think they choose his art feeling it fit the sets. In a way it does if you think about it, it feels sort of like those old cartoons from the 70's like the Hobbit or Wizards, and Lorwyn seems to have a lot of art reminiscent of that style/era.

Anyhow I'm hoping for some really nutty aggro stuff from this set. Like a GR dual that got a reveal a warrior or shaman option, some more good burn hopefully with changeling.

Oh...and Plow Under, please Wizard's whose leg to I have to hump to get you to reprint Plow!?!

Doesn't it seem dangerous to make the Faeries any better? O_o A whole precon dedicated to them, along with new additions, seems like they may be a dominant archetype in the coming season. They are already teir 1 material imho.

Yeah, you can be sure that the WBG is Treefolk. Doran's colors (Treefolk colors), with a treefolk on the front..? That Kithkin looks pretty cool (Kithkin need more cool Kithkin)- Staples is the man.

I don't get it- why is the Morningtide logo, which is really cool, different from the one on the insert card? (from Lorwyn- the one with the treefolk). Does this mean that there actually is some message in the insert, or was this already figured out??

That would be a very bad idea. You can hump all you want, but I don't see the point. Plow under was hardly fun to play against, and cnsidering green has a load of acceleration right now, I can see it becoming just as out of hand as it was last time. Ugh...

There'll be new Faerie creatures in Morningtide, but probably not any new tribal effects. It's possible that the Faerie Rogue deck will be really powerful, but just as possible in my opinion that one of the other races will get a "boost" from pairing with one of the new classes and start to eclipse the faerie deck.

Awesome.

Our rumor season starts again in usual fashion, with somemore fantastic work done by our most respected rumormonger Hunter. Choice bro!

Oh, and I may have some hi-res pics of the Precons coming soon, along with some other goodies to share, so I'll add them here as they come through to me.

Well that could be true, but then again playing in a meta that's strangle-held by control with few solid aggro decks, and no combo ones, that's annoying too.

Plow just happens to be one of my all time favorite cards, hence the leg humping, but really any sort of strong tempo cards which could be utilized by aggro would be a welcomed additioned in my opinion. People are going to complain either way, you can't please everyone. If WOTC printed some hyper aggressive nutz aggro creatures some people would complain. If you have tempo swing cards that aggro could use some people would complain then too. I personally want the tempo cards over creatures cause they tend to be stronger in the long run, but really anything that would make aggro decks more playable would make me happy. Right now I feel like I'm being forced to play control, with combo not existing, and aggro luke warm as it is.
