![]() ![]() mana with no drawback..... let me repeat NO drawback. Sure Karstoderm is untargetable but that can get chumped all day long too... and than it dies. And the Elf champion is really great, except if you are in topdeck mode after a wrath. This costs only ![]() ![]() no questons asked, combo's with all tribe cards as it is a changeling (say Smokebraider it out or find it with any harbinger). The last ability just makes it even a lot better in the late game by allowing you to pump it to 8/8 and beyond with all the mana that you assembled. .. sure it is no Goyf but than again what is and this is one of the best creatures for 4cc in Green. |

The Chameleon Colossus appears to be specifically designed to mimic Force of Nature, in a nice subtle reference to the past.
Think about it: when you pay the four-mana upkeep, it is essentially identical to a Force of Nature (which also has a four-mana upkeep, albeit GGGG instead of 2GG), except that it has pro-black instead of trample. |

I love both of the new cards. I can't wait until we see what other Merfolk we get. I also can't wait for the Kithkin, but I love that tribe.

I think the chamaleon colossus is really cool. It doubles its power for just four mana! That's something new. I'm not so sure if it'd be useful in an actual situation though. It would cost quite some mana to get this card going. If you can get past this though, this card is definitely decent.

Just 'cause I'm a flavor text junkie:
Merrow schools rarely form by design. They come together ___________ I lose it after that.

That merrow just makes me drool. It just seems nuts with the tap-happy effects merrow like to do.
Makes any merfolk insanity more of a group thing the next words looks like "individually in..." to me. |

Now, I suppose in a warhammer-full troll deck this would be fun-zilla- the second best warhammer target (sorry tarmy...), but that's it. It's a 1-of rare, thus a $3 card like Dralnu... |

My G/W build that I tinkered around with back when LOR was first released may have a new toy.
A brief overview: The deck used lots of accel (Birds, Llanowars, Wall of Roots, and the best accel of all..Magus of the Vineyard) to power out Garruk followed up by a Mirror Entity. The idea was to get the cards out..then feed the excess Magus mana into Mirror Entity. Of course..protecting Entity was part of the issue. But using this as a replacement for Entity, adding some Warhammers, and funneling excess mana into this bad boy seems like a nice way to go about the build. ..possibly even going Mono-G. Cheers, Austin |

Not to mention what he can do when pumped with Garruk.
Stalled table? not anymore Imho this is waaay better than Spectral Force. Protection from Black on a fatty is insane, it costs 1 less, and it untaps everyturn, no need for Scryb Rangers. Sure, it doesn´t trample, but what did you expect, Akroma Changeling Colossus? |

I think people may be underestimating the potential of this card in Constructed - granted, a 1/2 for 2W is hardly going to raise eyebrows in aggro-focused decks, but think of it as a walking Militia's Pride. You don't get the free attack, but then you don't have to pay to activate it either. And cards like Summon the School which didn't live up to expectations in Lorwyn might play better with cards like this around to work with. Quote:

What strikes me most about these first previews though is that none of these cards would look out of place in Lorwyn, and the 'class-matters' thing is still to be previewed. I suspect it may prove to be a more minor element of the set than the advertising suggests (like, say, Planeswalkers were in Lorwyn). Phil Last edited by Phil Bowles : 12-10-2007 at 04:08 AM. |
