It puts dudes into play attacking, which makes all the difference... anyway the Tog would be a good competitor for that title.
Anyway, let's stop the pointless argument about a hypothetical card (it's not gonna get us anywhere because the card as it was initially spoiled will never see print) and focus on the actual card... and on more morningtide previews!

The card in itself is likely good enough for standard play in Kithkin decks.
If there is a cycle of them for all classes (hopefully a loose cycle like the tutor guys cycle from Lorwyn), maybe some others will be more playable.

If you look at the link provided a few post earlier, you can see that it is a 2/2.

It would be awesome but as of now it has the survivability of a terran marine and wont see much serious play.
Ohhh its a 2/2, and it brings soldiers into play
Unplayable
Wait for more cards to be spoiled, please! Soldiers could become the new Goblins.

Unbalanced much? If you're going to make it a fair game, the curve work needs clear work. Also, while a seige-Gang Commander or an Akroma is a very valid end-game beater, each deck can hose the other. White starts off with Harrier and Forge-tender, gets CoP, Paladin, and the freeby swinger. Red simply aims at the face and burns off the unprotected guys while dropping of course Lackeys, matrons to find other gobbos and Fanatics. It would, in my opinion, be a cery close matchup

Quote:
Lackey's ability wasn't even remotely unfair or broken until Onslaught and then it was broken simply because it was tacked on a 1 mana creature that had a very relevant creature type to go with it's ability. The cost really makes a big difference here.
No arguments here.

Quote:
I'm not saying that this guy as spoiled would be weak or unplayable, far from it. It could be a strong constructed card, just not broken or unfair in any way...
Or here.

Am I the only one to notice that the poster is in a different language? Isn't it possible that the names aren't what we think they are because they're also in a different language? I really want to see a better scan in English. Somebody, please help!

I think that this will be a great card to use in a Kithkin deck. The best card to use this with is Thoughtweft Trio. Another card you could use with this is Kinsbaile Baloonist, but i don't think we want to go that route. If you include all other Soldiers you have some great options. One of them being Field Marshal.

Yeah, I noticed that too and decided to not try to translate blurry Portuguese. It looks like a good card and will see a lot of play in my pre-con tournaments that I have at my house. He is in Battalion right?

I beleive he is, since the picture matches the cover on the pre-con. If he's in it I'll probably buy 2 decks just to get 2 of them.

I think those are english cards (for whatever reason)
We've known about the card ability before getting the poster graphic, and the starting word is just too long compared to how the same sentence would look in Portugese. (I think)

Still, it is rediculous to be working off this bad a picture...

Wizards just updated the site with the card preview saying it's in a ad. Check out the morningtide mini-site for more details.

The picture is bad ass.

I think that they're trying to work people away from the Rumor / Spoiler sites and onto the controlled information release that they provide. By maintaining their mini site as they are currently doing so with all released card information they will keep some (and possibly a growing number of) people coming to them for official information instead of sites with unconfirmed (and unofficially released) information.

Personally, I think the artwork and the mechanic don't make a lot of sense. His gesture is all wrong for leading an attack or whatever he is supposed to be doing. He looks like he is alone in a clearing.... Not just me is it?

I like this card. It's fairly costed, shows off the "class matters" theme, and allows a way to sneak Mirror Entity (or any other soldier/changeling)into play!

I personally find it to be far too expensive to be playable, yet...I second the above poster's idea.

I hate Mirror Entity, but this looks good.
"I swing with Preeminient Captain and [some other guys], and put a Mirror Entity into play (which can't be countered)."
"I'll then pay five, and beat for 20+."
"gg?"

We'll see, eh?
