Incidentally, I think it's pretty ironic that, earlier today, you would have had us believe that you were leaning town on DYH, and WERENT trying to portray him as scum based on his action towards SB..yet now, you're stating that going into today, you thought he was scum. You really ought to make up your mind and try to keep your story straight.
Pleae point out where I said "going into this day I think DYH was scum." Please quote it, please link, please show proof that starting with day 5 I thought DYH was scum.
This is the third time I've requested of you to provide proof, and you have yet to do so. On the other hand, I have continually provided links and proof for what you've asked of me.
The sarcasm has become almost impossible to wade through in this current battle.
If you want anything cleared up, please point out which part is less than clear and I will post again, removing the sarcasm. This goes for anyone else as well.
The only answer I have for testing SB as the SK on a no kill night is that I forgot about it. Though things wouldn't have made any difference. There was still no role revealed that I'd go with duplicating. I would have went back to BT and tried to protect him. I suppose that would have changed my N3 choice as a result, but I don't know what I would have done.

I didn't realize by "no results" you meant he didn't even leave his room. So even though BT did nothing on N1, you targeted him again on N3? Ugh, that really doesn't make sense. And neither does the N2 action on Stormblind.
PPE: Just saw your last post. You forgot? After all the hullabaloo about the jester role/no-kill night that went on? Yikes. The BT choice wouldn't have made sense there (N2), either if you thought he was the doc. It's still a no-kill night. Why wouldn't you use the ability on a no-kill night as an opportunity to safely seek out a cop/RBer. Even by guessing at worst you weren't going to kill anyone. You did it N0, after all.
My gut is telling me this is the only logical explanation for last night barring a town RBer, but my brain is fighting that with your illogical decisions for the rest of the game.
Wait - of course, it's also possible that whomever Treigit actually targeted last night was successfully docced.

I didn't mean it was literally hard to read, just that your retorts and Cyan's attacks are both dripping with so much sarcasm that the hypothetical room is "filled with it", thus making it hard to "wade".

I wasn't sure if he skipped sending an action that. It wouldn't makes sense for him to skip sending an action, but I wanted to make sure. Like I said, I'm more concerned about the safety of the doc. If it took an extra night of making sure BT wasn't the doc, I feel it's justified to do so rather than taking a shot in the dark to catch someone doing another action.

This is only going to soemthing else that Cyan will try to twist around on me. I wasn't sure why I made the choice of SB that night. I went back and looked at things. I found that I sent my night action PM in before Xyre made his second post stating a no kill night. I sent my night action PM to Xyre at 6:40. He made the no kill night at 7:30.
So I made the choice before I knew it was to be a no kill night. Although I have no way to prove this now, when I turn up town, it should be enough proof.
My gut is telling me this is the only logical explanation for last night barring a town RBer, but my brain is fighting that with your illogical decisions for the rest of the game.

This is why I asked what an eliminator was. With SB killing CP, the scum obviously didn't kill one of their own. I blocked a kill, but did not kill said person. Were the scum going for 2 kills last night, sacrificing arim so that he showed up as scum to help out Cyan?
I guess we need to hear from Treigit if he can confirm you.
In the PM from Xyre, it's stated that Treigit acknowledges my cloaked presence. I doubt he'll be able to say specifically it was me, but he should be able to say someone was there after he was attacked. Unless anyone else wants to claim being in the room with Treigit, that being the scum that tried to kill him, it should be enough to clear me.
I didn't mean it was literally hard to read, just that your retorts and Cyan's attacks are both dripping with so much sarcasm that the hypothetical room is "filled with it", thus making it hard to "wade".
Alright, well, if there's anything else I need to respond to Cyan with, I'll keep the sarcasm to a minimum.

It did? You mean where SB claimed to have killed CP which left arim's death unclaimed? So you mean the scum killed one of their own? You're not making sense, man.

ebwodp: that line about looking at cyan is basically the same thing that arimscum said. And we know his alignment...
One HUUUUGE difference once Xyre shows up. I'm town, BT. I'm convinced that arim and Cyan staged their argument and then had arim use his one shot kill to try to make two kills last night and make Cyan look good.

" . . .suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but - I hope - into a better shape."
Nothing says scum-lynch like the person that was theoretically 'protected' coming out to deny it.
That, or, the ever cliche 'look at so and so when I show up as town tomorrow!'.
I didn't get you lynched, Vampyr. You acted like scum(which makes sense, since you surely are scum), and you got called on it. Was I a big part of that? Sure. That's the way it works. But it was your questionable tactics and irrational responses that doomed you. Even after I pointed it out, plenty of people were willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Too bad your claim also didn't add up. I'd suggest trying to come up with a better false claim, next time.
Also, you stating that Arimnaes has an extra kill is news to the rest of us. Feel free to explain how you know that one. Furthermore, you would be suggesting that what, Arimnaes used his extra kill on..himself? Something about that strikes me as absurdly unlikely.
Watching you flail here is most gratifying indeed.
The "Happy Christmas, for All of You Who Do That Thing" Vote Count
(6 to lynch) Vampyr - 6 (Disrupt Your Hymn, Cyan, Niv, Wrath of DoG, Treigit, Billium Tate)
The town, after watching StormBlind roast with some discontent, turn to Vampyr. Something was fishy about the previous night, and that strange character with the odd haircut and brown suit said he was there. What was up with that?
"I digress. I was there to save his life," he says. You notice he's not looking at you, but instead counting books on a shelf, methodically. Almost... too methodically.
"Look, I didn't see anyone else there besides the guy who tried to kill me," Treigit returns. "There's no way he does what he says he does."
"Still, he could be telling the truth and you just didn't see him," a voice from the crowd returns. Treigit is silenced. He looks down at his shoes, along with the rest of the crowd. They turn to walk away...
...when suddenly, Billium Tate breaks free from the group. "I don't know about you fine men, but I will not stand here and let this snake walk away from his crime! Our man Cyan is a gentleman!" And with that melodramatic statement, he grabs a candlestick from a table next to him, and with a long, winding arc, swings it straight towards Vampyr's head.
With a long clang, followed by a crack, the candlestick makes contact. Vampyr stares straight at Billium Tate for a moment, before slowly collapsing. Billium Tate stares back at where he was, visibly shocked, blood spattering his suit.
GiftsTrix steps forward, and checks Vampyr's pulse. He then slowly shakes his head. With his other hand, he holds up a piece of paper. The message on it was rather fitting.
I'd tell all my friends but they'd never believe me
They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely
I'd show them the stars and the meaning of life
They'd shut me away.
And with that, Vampyr, Adrian Monk, Town Replicator, passed.
The town stood up, and brushed the collective dirt off its lapels. They had been there for five days now, and five nights alongside them. Twelve of their members were gone, most dead. Billium Tate sheepishly wiped the blood off his face and looked at the rest of the group.
"Well then. Where do we go from here?" And nobody had a good answer. What was once a workable situation had turned grim once again.
Ring ring ring. You are all jarred from sleep from the ringing of your telephones. Groggy, you pick it up.
Michael was on the other line. "Awaken, gents. It seems business hasn't taken a holiday." With a groan, you all get dressed.
When you get down to the kitchen for breakfast, you discover Michael standing over a bloody mess, holding a tray of coffee and pastries. He looks frightened. "I'm sorry to awake you so early, gents, but this couldn't be ignored. I knew you'd understand."
"We don't, but thank you for your pains and courtesy," Treigit returns, yawning. He then looks down at the mess. Slowly, his jaw falls open. "On the other hand..."
creampuffeater is lying on the floor. From the looks of it, he's been dismantled. What you're facing, indeed, is only his torso, with five bloody stumps sticking out from it. The rest of him is scattered about the room. His arms are locked about each other in the sink, the legs leaning against the counter, and, as GiftsTrix discovers when fetching his cereal, the head is in the cabinet. On his face is locked a mask of terror.
Slowly, Treigit reaches into creampuffeater's wallet and produces a driver's license. "He was Matt Albie, Town Antagonistic Mason", he says after a moment. He then holds up the usual note:
Wake from your sleep
The drying of your tears
Today we escape, we escape.
Cyan counts on his fingers and comes up short. "Wait, guys. Someone's still not here." After a roll call, it appears Disrupt Your Hymn is the odd man out.
You wander around, but quickly discover your answers in the committee room, that last bastion of relative peace. Disrupt Your Hymn is lying on the pool table that you had brought up on the first day, among the balls from the incomplete games. Sticking out of his back is a long steak knife. You notice that his hands are covered in blood, but not his own, as all the blood is behind him. You all pause, taking in the scene, before moving forward.
Niv picks up the note first. It was short:
When I am king, you will be first against the wall.
Wrath of DoG grabs the wallet, and checks the card. He grins. "Well, looks like I didn't lose my beauty sleep for nothing." He shows the card to the rest of you, and you nod.
Indeed, Disrupt Your Hymn, Eddie Brock aka Venom, Recruiting Serial Killer, has claimed his final victim. But, based on his role, it seems you haven't seen the last of him.
Billium Tate walks over to Michael and grabs a cup of coffee. "Well, then. Let's get going."
We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.
isn't an antagonistic mason when you need your partner to die in order to win in addition to killing all the scum?
Also, what are your thoughts on mass claim?
@Mass Claim: I'm pretty split on this. The scum still have plenty of people to hide behind and we're getting pretty close to Lynch or Lose. At the same time I don't want a huge wifom argument to decide the end game. I'm leaning towards yes, but I think we should wait until a few wagons have gone past.
Specifically I'm going to be looking into Cyan and AK. I don't have time to explain my cases but I will either tonight or tommorow night.
how are there a lot of people left to hide behind, there are 8 players left?
Also, how are we close to lylo? There can't be many scum left considering 3 mafia, a jester, and a recruiting SK are dead?
Also, if you want cases to resolve, we have to push WoD. He never responded to my case yesterrday, and I think thhat he should be our initial push today.
We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.
WoD's last post was on the 14th, and consisted of agreeing with Arimscum.
3 days before that was a one-liner
He said "I'm going to read up on CP sometime tonight, after work." and nothing came of it.
His reread apparently only pointed at CPE, who ended up a mason
The day before that he promised content which has never come
Piles the 4th vote on CPE with simply echoing DYH's sentiments
One line setup comment on 11/30
Puts treigit at -1, which forces the doctor out (and treigit's claim is strengthened imo by Arim's fishing on the odd details of his role)
WoD meaninglessly blusters at Billium for asking bat questions after bat was lynched (or near lynch)
-Many of his posts have little or no content
-Many of his posts have long lapses between them, IE posting only every 3 or 4 days
-the only original idea that he's had is a mass claim
-He has barned multiple wagons that ended up on townies (see kraj, treigit, CPE(?))
I think that WoD is my best lead. Vote WoD
Is this the Case you're talking about? The lack of posting is due to me working over 40 hours a week - I have had so little time for myself lately that it's ridiculous. I was considering asking to be replaced because of that actually, since it isn't likely to get better anytime soon.
And I tend to barn in all the games I play. I'm really not great at analysis, and if someone makes a case on a player I thought was scummy, I do tend to barn their case, and add stuff if I think their case is missing anything. I see little to no point restating stuff someone else just said.
I've been busy too, I haven't posted very much, much of what I've said has been barnesque, I still try to make a point of at least giving an opinion, and or saying what I like.
"You are always training yourself to be, mind and body, as clear as crystal, and you always are, and never change; whereas I am a muddy, solitary, moping weed."
I'm not a fan of a mass claim today. Considering that we haven't seen much in the way of neutral roles(no cult, no survivors so far, etc), I suspect that we're looking at 5 mafioso and an SK. The 'Recruiting SK' thing seems odd, I'm not sure what to make of it. At any rate, thus far, the Cop has not be revealed. Keeping his identity hidden should be a tremendous boon to us going into the end of the game.
For now, we've got other information to work with..I don't see any reason to add more when we're probably not going to do anything with it today. We have solid odds of lynching scum today, and at least a couple of people to look at, I think we're better off mass-claiming once these are exhausted.
On other subjects, I think that we need to resolve the issue of 'the other mason'. CPE said that he could not get confirmation from Xyre that the other mason partner is town, despite a direct attempt to do so. I don't really understand what 'Antagonistic' Mason means, but we know definitively that CPE is town, and I think that this aspect supports the notion that his partner might be scum.
I still don't think that WoD is the right way that we should be looking. He was already under suspicion yesterday, and I really, REALLY doubt that he would bandwagon so shamelessly in that circumstance. I mean..when you're already down 3 scumbuddies, you just can't take needless risks like that. WoD has been playing for long enough that I just have a hard time seeing him doing that.
cyan-your points are valid, but since there are probably ~5-6-7 townfolk left, there's an ok chance of the mafia hitting the cop and thus screwing us out of his info. The flaw of the mason thing though, is if CPE thought his buddy was scum, then wouldn't he have said "Hey, this guy is probably scum"? Also, from what I know of antagonistic masonrys, his partner should be town.
when looking at the Cyan/Arim argument in it's entierty the first thing that comes to mind is that Arim's 'quote' and entier case thereof seems incredibly forced. Either he had 'assumed Cyan scum' and tried to prove it. or WAS scum and was trying to mislynch cyan OR he WAS scum and so IS Cyan and thier seperating themselves in an elaborate ploy. In 1282 Cyan defends against Arim's claims and attacks his argument Arim's next post is 1318 where he promtply ignores it, and Cyan responds in 1319 with an equal amount of obliviousness. The entire argument was Arim was concinced on Cyan's scumminess, Cyan defends himself passionatly then attacks Arim for poor attack skills and he does so equally passionatly. Then it dies. It's picked up again w/ bitterniss from Arim followed by a vote from Cyan.
A faulty argument that degernates into Ad Homs rather than intellect.
Me:
Quote:
Even the 'most far-reaching errounous logic ever' seems more like bitterness than an actual attempt to accomplish anything.
It dosn't look like they're trying to accomplish anything besides 1) Distraction and 2) Distancing each other.
After Vampyr's DYH post both DYH and Cyan and Niv OMGUS vote Vamp. He never stated an intention to vote for DYH or that the contradiction (supposed) in DYH's attitude was scummy, he just pointed it out, specifically calling DYH stating SB was carless as unsportsmanlike and inconsistant. Cyan then beings to push Vampyr's buttons. Tries to link Vamp and arim witht their aggressive attacks, but cyan is being alot more aggresive. Just compare 1471 with 1472 DYH asks questions to prod answers while Cyan is bashing out attacks.
It seems clear to me what Cyan's intention was. Push Vamp over the edge and cause him to play sloppy that will get him lynched. It worked
"He says--him as was here just now--'When Tom shut up the house, mate, to go to rack, the beds was left, all made, like as if somebody was a-going to sleep in every bed. And if you was to walk through the bedrooms now, you'd see the ragged mouldy bedclothes a heaving and a heaving like seas. And a heaving and a heaving with what?' he says. 'Why, with the rats under 'em.'"
@GT: Your theory that Arimnaes and I were trying to distance ourselves from each other makes no sense. We were never tied to each other. Plus, the assertion that, after 2 mafia had died, Arimnaes and I would stage some elaborate ruse in order to make the other look good is patently absurd. The risk in that plan far, far, far outweighs the minor gain. Arimnaes acted like scum, and it was obvious that he was doing so. I tried to convince anyone that would listen of this at the time, but no one wanted to do so. Arimnaes WIFOMed that situation *entirely*, and you all would have bought it. Lucky for us that someone(likely DYH) killed him instead, or he'd still be sitting here trying to waste everyone's time getting me lynched.
This was not a case of a scum gambit. It was a case of a scum Arimnaes trying to get me lynched/forced to claim because he thought that I had inside information, based on my reaction to Bateleur. Arimnaes wasn't lying there. It's apparent to me that he thought I had some kind of investigation on Bateleur, and was just fishing for more info there. If you read the flow of conversation, after I flatly stated that I didn't have any kind of inside info, Arimnaes backed off into hiding, and just randomly made unhelpful, sniping comments.
I get bandwagoned in every game I'm in, something that Arimnaes is fully aware of and attempted to take advantage of. Fortunately, he failed in this effort, and even though most of you guys didn't want to believe he was scum because of it, someone with the ability to NK was smart enough to see this. Never thought that I'd be thanking the SK, but I certainly am. As a town, we've played terribly this game. From the information that we have, the SK was responsible for 2 scum NKs, and the only scum we've managed to lynch was a ridiculously obvious one.
Something else, also. GT, you pointed out how DYH acted towards Vampyr, using this a point towards me being scum. Like I said, being aggressive does not equal being scummy. Vampyr clearly acted like scum, and I called him on it. His responses continued to get more scummy, and his claim was garbage. None of his claim made any sense whatsoever, and the most likely possibility was that he was simply lying. Especially when you considering that he claimed to have targeted BT twice, despite getting an indication that BT didn't have an action after the first time, and claiming to have targeted SB on a no-kill night. Plus he told us that he wasn't given any indication of what ability he was copying, and then contradicted this completely with his claim of having targeted Treigit. If people don't want to get lynched, they shouldn't act like scum.
Something else, also. You use DYH's actions towards Vampyr as a point of reference, citing that I acted completely differently. Guess what? DYH got NKed last night, and he is scum. I don't see how you can fault my action here. Was I aggressive? Sure. But again, that's not a tell. This exact circumstance should show you WHY it is not a tell.
I admit that I was in error in thinking that Vampyr was scum. But I'm not backing down from my position there either. He acted like scum, and got called on it. I would rather lynch a townie for acting like scum and be wrong than let them slide and have them end up being scum in the end.
"Its very pulse, if I may use the word, was like no other clock. It did not mark the flight of every moment with a gentle second stroke, as though it would check old Time, and have him stay his pace in pity, but measured it with one sledge-hammer beat, as if its business were to crush the seconds as they came trooping on, and remorselessly to clear a path before the Day of Judgment."
Tsk tsk, Billum Tate. You are quite eager for this massclaim. Too eager, I should say. Everyone isn't even sold on the idea of a mass claim, yet here you are, proposing that we get started soon.
Furthermore, that deadline means nothing to us right now. Not only is it a soft deadline, but it is also 3 weeks away. That is, by far, more than ample time to come to a satisfactory lynch, without throwing out information needlessly.
In fairness, this massclaim discussion should get resolved. I think that people should state definitely whether they are for or against, and we should go from there.
I am against, for reasons previously stated that have not changed. We're not at lynch or lose, we don't need to give the remaining scums more information. Protecting the identity of the Cop is paramount. There aren't many bodies left, and considering that we're looking at, most likely, 2 more mafia, and maybe someone that has become an SK, the odds of the Cop finding a scum tonight are very solid. Thus, again, I think that any mass claim should be left off for tomorrow.
I think that AK is the best place for us to look today. The more I think about it, the more I just don't believe that a Mod would create a role that could only make 10 posts per day. I think that NA just made that up as a smokescreen to be able to lurk(which he did, right into replacement), and AK just ran with it because people believed it. The problem is that this supposed restriction is, for all intents and purposes, unverifiable. It's not as simple as 'force AK to make 10 posts and see if Xyre replaces him or not when he doesn't post more'. Any action there would essentially be Xyre confirming AK's role. All that we would see is AK getting prodded alot, but never replaced.
Looking over AK's content, it's not really impressive. He's spent his posts today railing at WoD, but I really, *really* doubt that WoD is scum. He railed just as hard at Ged, and honestly, his logic behind doing so(Ged's suggestion to Vig CPE was scummy, thereby Ged must be scum..except that Ged's suggestion to vig CPE was NOT scummy). I'm fine with a Vote AK
Yes, Cyan, why are you so worried about claiming? It's lategame, and since we could be close to lylo, there is no way I'd be happy about lynching without all the info out there.
With the single opposition to the massclaim there is justification to wait until it has been thoroughly discussed.

Throughout this game you've done nothing but bandwagon lynches you think you wont be noticed for and ignore the ones you can. Perfect example is my case against cyan and his answer. No comment from you. FOS: Niv and WoD for the same reason. (Others have either stated limited access and gave a reason).
Now you fear monger a three week SOFT deadline? 1001 Nights is a game currently running with a deadline for each day and you don't see people screaming. I don't mind particularly a mass-claim today, but I do mind one before the day even gets started and cases are made and responded to.
@Cyan: I see your aggression as scummy, call it gut, call it a non-tell, I see it as scummy in the method it was used. Vamp's claim is not BS, it happened to be his role. My points concerning you and arim aren't scum tells just a preemptive position I want in the thread that the argument you had neither clears your name nor is points in your favor.

This is why I asked what an eliminator was. With SB killing CP, the scum obviously didn't kill one of their own. I blocked a kill, but did not kill said person. Were the scum going for 2 kills last night, sacrificing arim so that he showed up as scum to help out Cyan?
In the PM from Xyre, it's stated that Treigit acknowledges my cloaked presence. I doubt he'll be able to say specifically it was me, but he should be able to say someone was there after he was attacked. Unless anyone else wants to claim being in the room with Treigit, that being the scum that tried to kill him, it should be enough to clear me.
Alright, well, if there's anything else I need to respond to Cyan with, I'll keep the sarcasm to a minimum.
PM me if you have any to trade or sell.

One HUUUUGE difference once Xyre shows up. I'm town, BT. I'm convinced that arim and Cyan staged their argument and then had arim use his one shot kill to try to make two kills last night and make Cyan look good.

(6 to lynch)
Vampyr - 6 (Disrupt Your Hymn, Cyan, Niv, Wrath of DoG, Treigit, Billium Tate)

I could see the recruiting happening in 1 of 2 ways, either it's a 1 shot (likely), or we have to kill the SK after we've taken out all of the mafia.
Any idea on what an antagonistic mason might be about?
Also, what are your thoughts on mass claim?
Specifically I'm going to be looking into Cyan and AK. I don't have time to explain my cases but I will either tonight or tommorow night.

Also, if you want cases to resolve, we have to push WoD. He never responded to my case yesterrday, and I think thhat he should be our initial push today.

And I tend to barn in all the games I play. I'm really not great at analysis, and if someone makes a case on a player I thought was scummy, I do tend to barn their case, and add stuff if I think their case is missing anything. I see little to no point restating stuff someone else just said.
Did I hear someone say mass claim?

What points on Vamp did you like yesterday?
I've been busy too, I haven't posted very much, much of what I've said has been barnesque, I still try to make a point of at least giving an opinion, and or saying what I like.
Also, the other mason should come forward.
Hey, you! Yeah, you behind the computer screen! You're unconstitutional.

A faulty argument that degernates into Ad Homs rather than intellect.
Me: It dosn't look like they're trying to accomplish anything besides 1) Distraction and 2) Distancing each other.
It worked

Soft Deadline: 21 January.

Everyone else supports it, and we're on a deadline. It makes the most sense to claim.
