nice find....that will see some play somewhere...turning late game lands into damage is REALLY good in mono-red aggro-burn/RDW

Based on the fact this guy nailed Noggle on the Orb... I trust it. It's an obviously built burn for retrace and isn't too obnoxious, though potentially scary!

That's the only thing leaning me towards Real. The card is very predictable and the name sounds very poor.

Edit- For the record, 'Flame' has 5 hits and 'Jab' has 2.

As expected, Red gets damage. But I'm a little disappointed, because Red already has Seismic Assault to convert lands to damage. Oh well, thanks Captain Black.

Nice find CaptainBlack! We await your next reveal. . . you sly devil you. Retrace is simply an awesome ability, particularly on something cheap like this.

This set is really looking very good.

yeah, assuming this is real, I would pick Seismic Assault over this card anyday. It's just a sorcery too, which really weakens this card.

Am I wrong to be thoroughly unimpressed? Granted it's entirely expected for the red retrace spell, and I understand a Firebolt with retrace would be above the curve for burn, but at 1 damage I dont see this doing much.

That said, thanks for jumpstarting the REAL rumors Capt Black!

I like this better than Seismic Assault in non-combo decks because it costs a manageable

. But I still don't see a reason to play it right now. Maybe in block vs. Faeries/Kithkin.

It's like Seismic Assault, only not an enchantment [and it deals 1, not 2]. Still cool though.
I love the mechanic overall.

I like Flame Jab, I don't think you could ask for a whole lot more out of a common. Although with this, and the

discard spell with retrace, can we expect a common cycle of 1 cmc retrace cards?

On the card: It's looking good, it's slightly less versatile that seizmic, but it makes up for it by being that much more difficult to remove. Keep it coming Cap!

Seismic Assault is designed to be a combo piece this is not.

I think the fate of this card will mimic that of Lava Dart. However, even though they have obvious parallels, the Onslaught environment seemed to have MANY more 1-toughness critters that were relevant to kill. The numerous +1/+1 lords and all...
