Outside the window, it was a white world interspersed with red sparkles. It seemed almost… peaceful.
Roger blinked. Cailyn moved to stand beside him, staring through the window as well.
“White… mist? The Garden is burning! By the Heavens, what really happened here?!”
She glued her face to the glass and looked downward.
“I think we are on the first floor. It shouldn’t be that far from the ground. But I see dark shapes moving around down there. Are they the rest of the survivors? I couldn’t really tell with all this mist.”
Without warning, something suddenly skittered across the window glass. It looked like a huge… spider? Cailyn shrieked and jumped back.
“What… what is that?”

Aaron rested, leaning against the wall near the entrance. Nothing seemed to be moving. He was safe… for now.
The entrance to Theta Center was a grand structure, with elaborate abstract carvings and motifs. A big Roman numeral “III” marble carving could be seen occupying a space of honor right on top of said entrance.
It came suddenly. A drop of milky red fluid dripped onto his nose. It was followed by several more drops. Aaron gasped as the fluid trickled down his face and onto the ground. They came from directly above him.

“I am Aliyah. You may call me Miss Ali.”
Aliyah pulled her sword away from Dimitri’s throat in a smooth movement and walked past him toward the window he was planning on going to earlier.
“I am the teaching assistant the Academy recently hired for swordwork and swordcraft. I am supposed to be starting work today as of this morning.”
She looked outside the window in a bitter smile that seemed to hang tensely in the silence.
“I guess one cannot run away from one’s own luck in this world…”

Iguish stirred his body and groaned. With a loud smack, he pulled his face out of the keyboard and looked blearily forward. His computer had a big gaping hole where the black smooth screen used to be. With a groan, he slammed his face forward into the keyboard again.
It sparked. Loudly. Painfully.
With a yelp, he hurriedly pulled back his face and stumbled out of his chair onto the floor. He stared.
His office, if it could be called one, was a mess. Everything looked cracked. Everything looked shattered. And everything was scattered.
He reached into his lab coat’s pockets and encountered, to his relief, the reassuring presence of his tranquilizer gun and locater.
Above him, the fluorescent light flickered weakly. And died.
Weak. But it was afternoon. So there was enough light to go by.
Taking advantage of the situation, and ecstatic the mouth was in shambles, Kaleb waited just long enough to dodge around the tree, hoping the eye would smack right into it.
"I'm not sure... But I don't want to wait to find out." He fired his tranqualizer gun at the creature on the window to see if he could knock it out. "Maybe the window isn't the safest exit. I think those things we saw were animals of some sort. Why is everything White? It doesn't make sense..."
"Well, on the bright side, at least you know how to survive. Do you have any idea how all this happened? And what about the outside? Is this just the school or is this...bigger?"
Dimitri couldn't help but think that this woman was connected to what happened today. It was a ridiculous thought that somehow her arrival would cause mass destruction and zombie-esque creatures to ravage the school. Still, the her situation was an odd one...

"Well," spouted Garin (in a single breath) "Personally I'd like to think this is a test, and we are all in our classes, and someone has played a huge prank by mesmerising the school. But, that seems unlikely. More probably, someone has summoned these monsters and exploded the school in an act of revenge against public education. Or maybe there is a secret government program that we are undergoing, and those who survive will become government spies. Are any of these sounding plausible?"

Kaleb dodged just in time. The part of the tree that took the full brunt of the attack caved in, sending splinters in a wide arc over the immediate area. He hissed in pain when several of those splinters sliced across his arms and face.
For a second, all was still. Then with a groan, the tree slowly sort of twisted slightly, before cracking loudly and slamming down into the ground. Hard.
The Eye just floated there in the midst of everything looking disoriented, splinters jutting out of its milky flesh like a bulbous pincushion. Its red iris was spinning wildly as though it couldn’t decide which way was up and which way was down.

[XD It’s on the other side. Sorry I didn’t make that clear.]
The tranquilizer dart sort of bounced off the window glass and landed harmlessly somewhere on the floor.
“It doesn’t look like a normal mist, that’s for sure. In fact, I don’t think mist is a normal occurrence around this part.”
Cailyn nodded in agreement, still glancing warily out the window.
“We could open the window to check it out, if you like.”

“I am not sure…”
Aliyah’s brows furrowed worriedly.
“There is a strange white mist enveloping the entire school. Strange monsters are roaming the ground, the likes of which I have never seen or heard before. I attempted to explore outside further, but the strange mist got progressively thicker and more suffocating the further I moved away from the school.”
She turned her head to look at Dimitri.
“You can help me. I’m currently looking for the Broadcasting Room of this Academy. We need to gather the survivors. To direct them to a single place. To band together for safety. To plan what to do further and how to tackle this situation we are in.”
She snapped open something she retrieved from her blouse pocket. It was a Locater.
“It should be located somewhere in this building. Near the Cafeteria, I believed.”

Aideen laughed out loud.
“Well, aren’t you the conspiracy theorist?”
She sobered back immediately though and continued her work.
“I think… this is all a dream. I think… that when I wake up, all these will be gone and I can continue on with my life.”
She snickered.
“Fine. I suspect someone decided to use our school as a testing ground for biological weapons. Probably terrorists. It would explain all these weird hideous monsters stalking around the school. Maybe the Army is surrounding this Academy even now, preparing to evacuate us all to safety.”
She dropped the last of the stuff she could find into the cabinet.
“There, done. It should be heavy enough to support both our weights. You finished your part?”

Aaron stared. He had never seen a stranger thing in his life.

After some intense searching, he managed to turn up the following Emergency Card, though it didn’t look like the Academy’s one.
"Do you really think that's a good idea right now?" He said, rather sincerely, to Cailyn. "Maybe it'd be better if we searched the indoors before we figure out what THAT was..." He backed away from the window. "Sorry about the trigger finger, but they aren't lethal so I figured I'd better be safe than sorry." He started heading for the door to exit the class room. He wanted to get a look down the hall to see if anyone else was alive...
"Near the Cafeteria? We need more survivors then. I was just at the Cafe before I ran into you. There is a monster there that is larger and completly different than these creatures. I didn't stay long enough to get a good look, because I saw it eat a survivor whole and then I ran."
"So, let's find some survivors."

Roger headed for the front entrance of the class, with Cailyn tagging along behind him nervously.
He opened the door. The hall was not there.
The entire front section of the school had collapsed into a heap of rubbles, with bodies interspersing among them. With a fire extinguisher in hand, he moved toward his office door and opened it.
He blinked. The hall was not there.
Or rather, it was there, only covered with a mountainous pile of rubbles interspersed with… dead bodies. Iguish felt sick and gripped the fire extinguisher harder.
Both right and left pathways through the hallway were covered with the same rubbles. The first floor had practically collapsed right on top of his office. It’s a miracle his office, and by extension himself, were spared the same fate. There was a rather wide hole through the rubbles and… bodies in which he could crawl through in order to reach the outside world if he so wished.

He was about to turn away. Then he spotted something surprising.
There was a boy standing on the ground beneath the floating giant eyeball he was battling just seconds ago. And he was staring at said eyeball in a sort of stunned expression. The boy wore a black T-shirt and a pair of jeans, with brown curly hair.
On the nearby window, the Eye was attempting to squeeze through the window again.
"I never saw it move. I just saw it devour an injured student whole. If I had to guess, we could probably outrun it though. Or maybe sneak by it. What are you planning anyway? How will we help the stranded if we don't find them? What are you planning?"
A radio broadcast from the school? Dimitri was confused, but thought that this might be the only way to help the survivors. The only problem was that huge thing...
No time like the present to test his courage.

It was a tall boy, and he wore a football practice jersey and shorts. And he was holding a sword.
Mat turned to Aaron.
"Hey, snap out of it, those things are nasty; by the way, name's Mat."
Aaron stood gaping back at him in surprise.
We'll make you an offer you can't refuse.
