[ALA] Shard-specific promo packs seen at FNMs (some new cards)

My local store got the Esper shard 1 of these. It had a foil Windwright Mage a 2/1 flying deathtouch Artifact Creature- Bird for UB, Sharding Sphinx, a 2/3 Artifact Creature-Gargoyle for 3W that when is comes into play it returns an artifact from your graveyard to your hand. I believe that it was uncommon im like 95% sure of that and sry that i dont have names. We have seen the pic of the 2/1 flyer its the owl with the filagree thats like wraps arounds its eyes and face. And we also got a Foil Tezzeret that looks amazing

That bird you're describing sounds a lot like Tidehollow Strix and the gargoyle sounds like Santcum Gargoyle (who I assume has flying like all but one gargoyle in magic history). The arts can be seen in the Alara Explorer for Esper.

but those are some nice cards too; I love the gargoyle, and I like the bird too.

If I were allowed to take the cards home and scan them, I would. Since I can't, a full report along with any pertinent updates to the spoiler list will have to suffice.

I'm grateful, I am just wondering where the other stores are. It is basically Monday, and we have heard from 3? stores out of the 5+? that got these.
The blame is mostly on Wizards, I would say, as the last time they did this it seemed much more...on the ball.

Ah, yes, I was expecting something along these lines. Most likely the second ability reads something along "if you control a creature with power 5 or greater" it adds (or maybe ?) instead . I just didnt expect it to cost 4 itself

I envy the people who was awarded with either Sarkhan Vol foil or the Lovely Paria Angel with Shroud, also, i would upload the scans, but after leaving the store cause mine does not have scanner , anyway, hoping to get soon the info from the missing Shards.

According to Zesty, the ability is "at EOT, if you control such a creature, draw a card". I wasn't expecting this to be a 4 mana 2/2, however... it's terrible unless you have such a creature, so is unplayable outside of Naya (limited).

Having said that, if you ARE in Naya, having one (or more!) of these in play will quickly overwhelm your opponent. Strong.

EDIT: whoops, didn't see that other thread with this in. Oh well.

The deathtouch owl looks stupid strong for limited. Evasion that can handle fat. Really high pick.

Things like these actually make me want to open a store!!

Only thing is there isn't a big market where I live..

"Hey check this out! I got a foil rare of the set that hasn't even come out yet! It is so worth the $20k I am losing each year to keep the store open! Woo!"

It's not your MtG provider, it's WotC. They sent the packages out to random FNM locations, I believe.
