[ARB] Some Cards for Bant

The counter would've been awesome at /2/2, and excellent at /3/3. As it is, it's playable, but not spectacular. The rest is ''meh''.

Consistent, free +1/+1 counters are usable. Perhaps not abusable, but still.

He is my favorite of this batch. A solid 3 drop for limited. Wargate feels like Chord of Calling except boring.

There honestly are no bad cards in this set. My sealed deck is going to be all ARB with like 2 ALA cards.

You'd have to get some great mana fixing to make that work :P

Edit and the counterspell is essentially worse than cryptic but i like it nonetheless. Probably constructed playable in some decks?

I don't really know what, though, I guess. In the early game it can't be played, mid game Cryptic already exists, late game it's Broken Ambitions at X = 4, essentially.

Perhaps, though, against Red? Then the life gain is relevant, and the deck typically doesn't have 4 extra mana to throw around.

"Wisescale Serpent" looks like it could have some potential in Vintage/Legacy Fish. Too bad it wasn't one mana less; if it was only one mana less, it could have been the new Quirion Dryad.

I liked zur coz it fetches me oblivion ring,pillory of the sleepless,pacifism etc etc

Awesome card for Zur EDH. Does it allow auras to be placed on Zur even though he has shroud, or is this different than Zur/Enduring Ideal/others?

I like this one, even tough it is probably too costly for tournament play. It is very close to being a hard counter and the 4 life is not trivial. Might be worthwhile to test in an aggro uw deck especially after the rotation, but I would not get my hopes up for it. There is so much good stuff to cast at 4 cc and not enough slots for it.

Same total stats as a watchwolf but distributed differently. While watchwolf is obviously better and there is much competition of other gw weenies, I would not count this card out. It is very hard to kill with burn and in combat with most smaller creatures (with the exception of deathtouch). It is unkillable by firespout and volcanic fallout. The things that do kill it tend do cost the same amount of mana or more (terror agony warp, oblivion ring) with the exception of path but if they path your 2cc creature you are in good shape. It is an excellent creature to carry all those exalted bonusses (boni?) to combat. While not overly exciting do not count his one out yet.

Excellent card. It is a 3/3 for the first attack, and will grow one counter each of your turns the least. With ug having so much card drawing it could end up gaining a lot more. The only problem is that there is so much good stuff in it's colours already: the legendary angel and the warmonk probably take up it's slots. That said i would not be suprised if this sees play, it is pretty good.

Fun, but probably too costly for a bant/exalted deck. That said if you drop this and can attack with another creature then it can be a +6/+6 trample pump (epic proportions). Most likely casual but would be great if it can be done in a competitive deck.

How many x costs are there in the set, this could be a cycle if there are 3 more at least. It is a bit too costly but if there will be a combo in standard with some cheap elements it will be used. If there are cheap and excellent permanent hosers for most common strategies than this can be used to with those to tutor for silver bullets.

The snake has potential.
Wargate seems like lavalanche brother.(maybe its a cycle like conflux 5 power or more? )

In Limited, the Serpent is absolutely insane. I've lost games to Bloodhall Oozes and even Rockslide Elementals that have got out of hand; and the Serpent gets bigger more reliably.

Right now I'm hoping for some ridiculous Bant sealed pool at the pre-release, because they've definitely got some goods. Throw one of the new "Armadillo Hammers" on this Snake and smash face.
