When Planar Chaos had just come out, I think it was MaRo who said that the "Skulking" drawback was not a one-shot for the set but was a permanent color-shift into blue. The fact that it works great flavor-wise is just a bonus.

Well with one half of the blue table down we can see what we are working with, and we can only hope that the second half has something truly appealing.

Thank you so much quodo!
I may not like the direction blue is headed in, but I do very much appreciate all the work you've done this season. |

The only thing worse than Shakespeare quotes are Conrad quotes.

Only the new pacifism looks good. And maybe the illusion. So much for the hopes of blue getting fixed in M10 in the missing cards! How ridiculous is that Righteousness costs only one mana and in most cases will destroy the attacking creature, while Disorient, which only lowers its power for a turn, costs 4?

You guys who are saying Ice Cage is great must be mis-reading it. It says when it becomes the target of a spell or ability you sacrifice it, not the creature.
As in, they can Giant Growth it and your "Pacifism" falls off. Doesn't sound better to me.

However, in some ways, it's still better than Pacifism, because it prevents activated abilities, which Pacifism does not.

Doubtful, there are only 3 more unknown cards in blue, 2 creatures and a sorcery. The sorcery is supposed to be a milling card while the serpent needs an island to attack. The last one is a sprite.

Okay, so we get four of the seven missing blue cards here.
The siren is meh, but interesting that they're giving this to blue now. The blue Shrink is incredibly bad. At best, it's "prevent all combat damage target creature would deal this turn". Fend Off did that for two mana, and with cycling attached, so we can assume that the effect really costs about 1. Ice Cage is interesting, and could actually see some play. Most decks don't run much that can target a creature without doing something bad to it, but decks that run the new Loxodon Warhammer or even just Giant Growth can get rid of it without breaking a sweat. Illusionary Servant is the best card here, and probably the best blue card in the set. It's Serendib Efreet, only it dies to bolt. Still makes it a solid creature, and it will almost definitely see play. Most of what will kill it could kill it anyways, though the fact that you don't get a land if it is Path to Exiled is kind of bad.

Do we see a "7" cycle here for 3C? (3W gives us that lifegaining white slab of crap, 3U gives us this stack of uselessness)
On the white one I would rather play bandage and get the cantrip, on this one, I would rather play boomerang.

It's certainly possible I suppose, Green has Might of Oaks which +7/+7 for 4, maybe a consuming bonfire type of card for red, but I can't think of anything black can do for 7 at 4, I guess -7/-7 is possible
